Part 6

As the reception came to an end, the guests left after they congratulated the parents of the bride. Evelyn scanned the remaining guests and couldn't locate her daughter or Perry. While Evelyn conversated with her best friend, Margaret, she spotted Della and Perry engaged in conversation as they strolled across the field with his right hand around her waist. Evelyn sighed and continued her conversation.
Perry and Della laughed and looked at each other without a care in the world before they mingled with the remaining guests. After Perry walked and got their drinks, he bumped into Linda before he hurried over to Della. He hoped that he wasn't followed, but Linda grabbed her date's hand and danced to the song that the band played.
Della glanced in his direction and grinned at him before she resumed her conversation with her mother. As Perry approached the women with their drinks in his hand, he handed Della her glass and brushed her fingers with his. Her mother watched the exchange before Marcus joined them with their own drinks. They all toasted the new couple and sipped on their drinks.
"The wedding turned out really nice, Della. Her mother was very happy to see you again."
"I know Mom. I'm glad that Perry and I could get away from the office and join in the celebration this weekend." Della replied as she looked at the small group of people and Perry, whose eyes admired her body.
"Perry, I can't tell you enough that you and Della should visit more often. Although your business is growing, you both need time away from it once in a while." Her father spoke up once he finished his drink.
"I have been telling Perry that, but we also need to balance our work and personal life. We'll have more free time once Perry's clientele grows." Della spoke to her father before she looked over at Perry, who nodded in agreement with her.
"We have already established the law firm, and now we just wait until our clientele retrains us, and we build our reputation. Once the business becomes successful, we'll be able to take some time off and enjoy ourselves." Perry informed them with a loving look towards his wife and her parents.
"You both will do very well." Her mother enthusiastically said to them.
After the last of guests left, Della and Perry remained since she wanted to spend time with her family before, they departed for Los Angeles in the morning. Perry spoke with some friends of the family while he dodged a certain cousin and was relieved when Linda's date escorted her back to the vehicle. Della felt Perry's nervousness and chuckled to herself after she bid them goodbye and wished them well.
"Counselor, I hadn't seen you this nervous in a quite some time. What's the matter?" Della teased him while she watched her cousin and her date drove down the driveway.
"Della, you know exactly who made me nervous, and I'm glad she has finally left. Why didn't you tell me about your secret kissing tree?" Perry held her waist and pulled her flush against him.
"It wasn't hidden, Perry and the tree never crossed my mind. I thought it had vanished by the time I returned since there is strong winds, snow storms, and heavy rains that come through here. Truthfully, I didn't know it would still be here." Della leaned back from his embrace and observed his facial expression.
"Hmmm… really Della. Of course, a force of nature could have brought down that tree, but you failed to tell me about the kissing tree. Do remember what we said to each other when we got married, don't you?" Perry mischievously whispered to her and lowered his arms below her waist and cupped her bottom. He inched forward and closed the gap between them as Della wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him on his lips.
"No secrets, Perry? Is that what you meant?" Della mumbled against his lips while he held her in his embrace.
"Mmmmm..." Perry lustfully eyed her.
Since they weren't paying attention to anything around them, Della's father caught them in an intimate embrace, cleared his throat, and interrupted the couple. Perry sighed and released his hold on Della. He looked at her with his dark blue eyes before he turned and saw the intruder, Marcus Street.
"Della, your mother, and I are leaving. I believe she would like to see you before we leave since you fly out tomorrow for Los Angles." Her father's voice was unnerving, and she looked at Perry.
Della walked back towards the small gathering of people as Perry watched her. Meanwhile, Della's father saw how Perry adored his daughter and wanted to ask a burning question. Although he discussed with them his expectations for their marriage before the wedding, he still had doubts about Perry's feelings about his daughter. Perry approached Marcus, who looked at him with concern, as Perry walked past him and followed Della toward the group.
"Perry, may I have a word with you?" The older man's voice never wavered as Perry turned on his heel and looked at his father-in-law.
"Sure. What's on your mind?" Perry's voice was deep and low as if he was talking to a concerned client.
"Perry, do you have my daughter's best interest at heart? When I gave my blessing at your wedding, I was concerned about my daughter's happiness." Marcus thought Perry was playing Della for just another pretty face and would toss her to the curb after Perry's law firm became successful.
"Mr. Street, are you asking me what my true intentions are for your daughter? When I asked for your blessing, I meant every word of what I told you. I love Della with all my heart and soul, and I would never do anything that would disrespect her or break our vows. She is my whole world, and if she didn't come into my life, I'm not sure where I'd be at this point in my life. As far as our law firm is concerned, it will take time for it to be successful." Perry voiced his thoughts with her father and waited on his reply.
"Perry, that's all I could ask of you. I don't want to see Della unhappy and heartbroken over you, but I know that you'll take good care of her. Being her father, I have worried about her future. Promise me that you'll do one thing for me, Perry. Take good care of her and don't break her heart since she holds that special place in your heart like you said." Her father's look spoke volumes to Perry, and he nodded in agreeing not to betray him or Della.
"You have my word." Perry replied before they joined the rest of the family.
While Della spoke with her mother, Perry and her father joined them. She noticed Perry's mood had changed from being playful to becoming solemn with something on his mind. He remained silent while Della bid her goodbyes to her parents and promised to call once she returned to Los Angeles. During the drive back to the hotel, Della glanced over at Perry and wondered what her father said to Perry. As he kept his eyes on the road, he took her hand in his and kissed it. Della sighed and knew that whatever was said between her father and Perry that everything was going to be fine. After Perry parked the car in the hotel parking lot and shut the engine off, he finally gave Della his full attention.
"What did my father say that placed you in a somber mood because you've been quiet the whole drive back to the hotel?" Della questioned him and squeezed his hand which got his attention.
"He pulled me aside and asked me if I was truly in love with you and if I was using you to build my law firm." Perry squeezed her delicate hand and looked at her.
"My father actually asked you that? I knew he worried about me, but for him to ask that of you after he gave us his blessing before we got married upsets me. Maybe he thought you are too good to be true for his daughter and was worried over nothing, Perry." Della quietly told him.
"I told him the truth, Della, that my feelings would never change for you, and I'll never betray you. I hoped that I put his mind at ease because I can't lie to him, or he will have my head in a basket." Perry chuckled at the thought, but he became somber again before he glanced over at Della.
"Perry, he is overly protective of me. Remember, I'm working in a man's world, and if my career fails, my reputation is ruined." Della looked directly at him and stroked a lock of hair from his brow before he took her hand in his.
"I promise you won't have anything to worry about concerning your job." Perry kissed Della slowly and looked into her hazel eyes which sparkled in the moonlight, and she moved her hand down the front of his shirt and felt his erection through his pants.
"Is that a promise, Counselor?" Della whispered into the shell of his ear.
"Most defiantly without a doubt." Perry growled at her and kissed her lips which made them both breathless. After he exited the car and opened her door for her, they walked together toward the hotel entrance and were greeted by the front desk attendant. Perry pushed the button on the elevator and pulled her into his arms. Since she changed into that dress earlier that day, he wanted to rip it off her while they were at the reception. He knew she was purposely challenging his self-control.
Perry grabbed the key from his pocket pocket and unlocked the door for her. As she opened the door, Della looked around in surprise and noticed the flowers on the vanity. She was aware that when they left for the wedding, they weren't in the room. Perry always had something up his sleeve, and before they left for the wedding, he slipped a note to the concierge, who ordered and brought flowers for their room. Della placed her purse on the vanity beside the vase of flowers, read the note, and smiled to herself. Perry stood by the door entrance and shut the door. As Della looked in his direction, he stood by the door motionless in the light and stared at her. He wanted to pounce on her, but Della made the first move.
Della approached him slowly with a sway to her hips, wrapped her arms around his shoulders, and pulled him in for a sweet kiss. For what seemed like hours, he passionately kissed her until they broke for air. She caressed his cheek with her fingertip and traced his lips before he took her hand and kissed it. She licked her lips in anticipation and couldn't contain her arousal. Perry inhaled her aroma through his nostrils, stroked her lower back, and placed his hands on her lower half to momentarily halt her movements. Della kissed his cheek, caressed his forearms, and studied his face.
"Perry, thank you for the flowers. How did you manage to sneak them by me?" Della played with the hair at his nape and felt his hardness.
"How did you know it was me, Della? It could have been one of your past admirers. Since you flew in from California, he could have known that you would have stayed here at the hotel." With his poker face on display, Perry accused her as his blue eyes twinkled at her.
"Chief, if you think for one minute that I would keep a fellow at bay while I'm married to a wonderful and successful attorney, who has my best interest at heart, something is wrong. My mother adores, and my father is very appreciative of you." Della countered him as she gripped the collar of his shirt and forcibly pulled him towards her mouth and claimed his mouth in a heated kiss.
"I didn't know about the kissing tree, Della?" He mumbled against her lips and he claimed them once again. He felt a sharp jab against his hardened member when Della finally had enough of his antics over the silly tree and pushed him away from her.
"It was a long time ago Perry and I wasn't thinking since I was a young teenager. You did silly things when you were younger and didn't have a care in the world." Della whispered to him.
"Della, you must have had someone on your mind, or you wouldn't have scratched your initials into that tree." Perry slowly approached her and turned her around to face him.
"Della, if I had upset you, it wasn't my intention, and if it was intended for your ex-Michael, I understand. After all, I came into your life at the right moment in time." Perry quietly told her as the tension left her face.
"You certainly did, Perry. All the young girls probably chased you because of your charming, good looks and those mesmerizing, blue eyes." Della unbuttoned his shirt and spread her palms across his heaving chest before she scratched him her fingernails, and he flinched under her touch. She smiled at his reaction and stepped back.
"You are right, Della. I had some ladies who chased after me for what reason, but I still don't understand why. However, it was you, Della Street, who captured my heart." He cupped her face into his large hands and caressed her cheeks before he leaned in for passionate kiss. As he unbuttoned on her dress, he watched her expression as his nimble fingers removed the outfit and exposed breasts which were hidden behind a silk bra. He slowly peeled the bra straps down her slender arms and removed the offending garment. He squeezed her breasts, and she pulled his head down for another searing kiss.
During their kiss, slowly Perry's appetite for Della grew as their tongues wrestled for control. Della mimicked his actions and slipped his shirt off his broad shoulders before it fell to the floor. Her fingertips moved from his shoulders down to the patch of dark hair on his chest and ticked him when her fingers brushed the front of his waistband.
"Della, you have no idea what that dress did to me when you wore it. It took every ounce of self-control in me not to have my way with you." Perry hissed while her thumb rubbed the head of his penis, and he surrendered to her.
"Really? Did the ceremony along with all the family members bring back memories from our own wedding?" Della questioned him before she withdrew her hand. She bent down and removed the last of his clothing. When her soft curls tickled and caressed his thighs, he jumped at her ministrations and looked down at her. He cupped her cheek into his palm and reached for her hand.
He was silent as she licked, sucked, and teased his erection, but when he mumbled incoherent words, Della smile against his engorged penis. Perry gripped her soft curls and caressed her while she pleasured him until she sped up her ministrations on his rock-hard penis. Unable to hold on much longer, he roughly tugged at her hair and smoothed it over before he climaxed into her hot mouth. With a satisfied smirk on her lips, she massaged his scrotum and kissed his now semi-erect member. Perry grasped her hands and pulled her up to him.
"Della, of course it did. With our loving parents in attendance, Victoria's wedding sparked the memory of the happiness we experienced on our wedding day and finally being together without anyone-or our exes standing in our way. I'm not mentioning any names but you get the idea." Perry spoke between a strangled breath and drew her to him closer him, and she felt the heat that radiated off his body.
"Our wedding day was the happiest day of my life, Perry." Della softly touched his cheek and led the way to the bedroom when Perry pulled her back to him. Della slowly turned around noticed Perry hesitated for a brief moment. He picked her up in his arms and carried her the rest of the way to the bedroom while Della peppered kisses on his face, nose, and chin. She giggled at him as he lowered her onto the bed. As he stood before her, he observed her dark hazel eyes change color due to her aroused state. He knew that she belonged to him, and no other man could have her. He hovered above her before he claimed her mouth while he joined her on the bed.
Once Della spread her legs to accommodate his weight, he covered her completely with his large frame and kissed her passionately while he stroked her curls with his large palm and consumed her like a hungry man. Della wrapped her arms behind his back and lightly scratched him with her fingernails. After he nipped at her neck and kissed down her breast, he took one nipple into his hot wet mouth until the pert nipple slipped from his mouth before he latched onto the other one. Della pulled on his dark hair and encouraged him. She gasped while his soft tongue teased her flesh.
Perry descended down her body while her arousal more prominent. He licked his lips in anticipation of consuming her sweetness. Her hand bunched the sheets into a fist while the other pulled on his dark hair. With her fingernails, she tugged his hair and scratched his scalp. He kissed above her mons while he balanced his weight over her smaller frame. He placed butterfly kisses on her entrance and slowly darted his silky tongue into her heat. He intwined her hand with his and lifted her slender leg over his shoulder before he delved deeper into her hot core. He licked and suckled her clit with his soft tongue flicking it over and over again. Her moans of pleasure above him spurred him on to continue. Hearing her cries encouraged him, and he pleasured her until she orgasmed into his mouth. When he licked his lips, he savored her sweetness. As she looked at him with half-lidded eyelashes, it was more then she could take when he looked up at her from between her thighs.
"Perry, please…." She softly moaned his name.
"Please what, Della?" He mumbled and kissed her thigh which he tickled her with his hair as he rubbed his face against her abdomen.
Remaining between her legs, he paid attention to her thighs and kissed every inch of her before he slowly moved back up her heaving body. While he was poised to enter her, Della wrapped her legs around him and pulled him down for a heated kiss before they merged into one. After they made love into the night, they laid in a sweaty heap of tangled limbs. Della propped herself up on his chest and studied his chiseled facial features while she traced patterns across his heaving chest and played with his sparse hair. Perry held her to him in his arms and kissed her before he sighed in contentment.
"Thank you, Perry. I'm glad we came out here for the wedding." Della softly spoke to him and looked at him with a twinkle in her eyes. He tilted her chin up and captured her lips with his.
"You're welcome, Della. Under certain circumstances and reasoning. I could never deny you anything that you ask of me." Perry laid his hand on her bottom and squeezed it.
"Chief, does that mean if I ask, I shall receive?" Della pinched him on the ribs as she straddled him. While he clasped his hands with hers, she slowly maneuvered her bottom onto his engorged penis and rocked against his chest. Once he was sheathed inside of her, she slowly moved until she increased her momentum and gasped when he bumped her clit. He met her thrust for thrust and hit her at the right angle before he took one nipple into his mouth and wrapped his arm around her waist. When Della clamped her vaginal walls around his shaft and came hard, Perry bit her neck, and she screamed out his name in ecstasy. Perry soon followed with his own climax and called out Della's name. A few minutes later as their breathing calmed, the air chilled their sweat soaked bodies, and Perry pulled the sheet up over them.
When the morning sun shone through the curtain, Della woke up to soft puffs of air against her earlobe and pushed her bottom against Perry, who groaned and nipped at her shoulder before he kissed her ear, buried his nose in the crook of her neck, and inhaled her scent.
"Perry, we have a flight to catch." Della scolded him when she slightly turned her head and to saw that his eyes were closed.
"We'll have breakfast before I call our pilot." He nuzzled her earlobe and rubbed her hip with his palm.
A half hour later, Della finally got out of bed and showered while Perry remained in bed and slept until Della reemerged dressed in floral sundress and matching cardigan. Perry wiped the sleep from his eyes and scratched the day-old stubble on his chin. While Della packed their belongings, he finally got up and quickly showered. When he stood in front of the mirror, he caught a glimpse of Della as she carried their luggage to the front door.
"Della, I'll take the luggage to the car after we finish our breakfast." Perry called out from the bathroom while Della carried the smaller suitcase in her hand.
"I know, Perry, but I'm not completely helpless either. Are you about finished in the bathroom? My stomach is growling, and if I wait any longer, you're going to have an angry wife on your hands." Della playfully teased him and met him in the living room.
"I won't keep you waiting any longer." Perry opened the door for her and placed his hand on her lower back before they walked down the hallway to the lobby.
"We don't want that to happen." He jokingly told her with a quick swat to her backside.
The restaurant wasn't at full capacity when they entered and sat down at a table. A few young men eyed Della as they walked by. Perry gave them a once over before he looked at the menu. When a young blonde haired woman raised her eyebrow at him, Perry noticed and returned his attention to the menu, but Della noticed and cleared her throat as another couple walked in and were seated close to Della and Perry. The waiter came to their table and took their orders before he returned with their drinks.
"It looked like you have two young suitors who were admiring your figure, Della. I guess they didn't see your wedding ring." Perry whispered to her from across the table.
"Well, if two men were eyeing me, a certain blonde sitting over there in the corner has been looking this way since she entered the restaurant." Della drank her coffee after the waiter placed it on the table. Perry smiled at the server and reached for his own cup.
"She knows that I'm with a beautiful woman who is also my wife." Perry bashfully smiled at her and reached across the table where he grabbed her hand and kissed it.
They ate their breakfast which consisted of homemade waffles, eggs, bacon, maple syrup, and a fruit medley. Once they were finished with their breakfast, Perry called the waiter for the check which Perry paid at the counter before he left the server a hefty tip. Della joined him at the counter as the two young men admired her body. After she walked over to Perry's side, he placed his arm around her waist and acknowledged her presence as his hand inched lower on her hip. Since she noticed that Perry only had eyes for Della, the young woman shrugged her shoulders in defeat and finished her coffee.
Meanwhile, Perry and Della returned to their hotel room. Perry called the pilot and instructed him that they would be end route to the airport within half hour. When Della met Perry at the front door, she carried the smaller suitcase, and he took the two larger ones in both hands as she opened the door for him. Upon checking out at the front desk with other guests, Perry kissed Della on the lips and showed he wasn't afraid to express his love for her since he was full of surprises.
Della knew exactly why he did it, and she could also play his game. The young men who had eyed her earlier were also departing the hotel with their own luggage in hand. In a quick spur of the moment, Della slipped her arm through Perry's, whispered into his ear, and kissed his lips. He chuckled and looked down at her with boyish grin which showed his dimples which Della loved. After she rested her head on his shoulder, they walked out of the hotel, and everyone knew they were in love.
