Addendum 1-Late Night Chaos
Itsuwa was carrying the unconscious Kamijou Touma over her shoulder, running alongside the other Amakusa magicians. Othinus' scream had shaken the girl to the core, she had a noticeable tremble since then. However, what was she supposed to do? Leave Touma with such a threat? No, this is what Touma would've done as well, save the person no matter the danger.
"You know I've got to say, pretty bold taking Touma right in front of Othinus like that." said the young boy named Kouyagi as he ran besides Itsuwa
"Great, Othinus is back, this is a bad time for Tatemiya to be missing." said the blonde haired woman running in front of Itsuwa
"Do you have any idea where the substitute supreme pontiff is, Tsushima?" ask Kouyagi
"I have no idea, he was supposed to meet with Touma, but he's nowhere to be seen. Unless…oh no."
It was at that moment a horrible possibility slipped into their mind, Tatemiya was gone, the first victim of Othinus' new reign of terror. However, another thought slipped into the mind of Kouyagi.
"Why didn't we take Index as well?"
"You're just saying that because she's wearing that new outfit that really accentuates her curves."
"No, this is a serious question, we left Index there with the known terrorist back at her full power. Am I the only one who realizes the recipe for disaster there?"
"Oh…oh no."
It was then that Tsushima's phone began to ring, she took it to find that the caller had been Tatemiya. Though the woman had been relieved that the scenario that she crafted in her head had been proven false, she was also a bit irate over the man's absence. Nonetheless she decided to share the news with the rest of the Amakusas.
"It's Tatemiya guys, he's still alive." Tsushima said before answering the phone and putting it on speaker "Where are you supreme pontiff? Ainmire has been dealt with, but now we have a new problem here, and it's more serious than Ainmire."
"I'm in England right now and I need to-"
"England, how'd you get there? We saw you here like an hour ago." Kouyagi interrupted
"That's what I'm getting at, the magic god and phase change we detected in Touma's dorm, it's Othinus, she's back. She knocked me out and sent me all the way back to England."
"We're aware of Othinus' return, we just rescued Touma from her a minute ago."
"I'm proud of you guys, but listen, right now you either need to lay low or escape from Academy City altogether. The Anglican Church is rallying whatever forces it can to reseal Othinus before she does anything too bad."
"We would, but Index is still with Othinus, if she's able to tap into those forbidden grimoires, who knows what she'll be able to do. We're going back to rescue her." Tsushima responded
Tatemiya sighed before talking, "I hope one of you has a plan to not get killed out there."
Silence, only broken by the sound of running footsteps, then filled the air as the Amakusas thought of their conundrum. They realized that Othinus was fully capable of utilizing every single grimoire memorized by Index, but if they went back for her, they would surely meet their end by the magic god.
"Um, guys, I think I have an idea." Itsuwa finally spoke up after some time
"Oh, what is it Itsuwa?" Tatemiya asked
"From Othinus' screaming, it seems she's just after me and Touma. So if we split up, she'll be focused on me, while you guys could catch her off guard and grab Index."
"What about you? We can't just sit by while Othinus hunts you down." retorted Tsushima, an expression of concern washed over her face
"I don't want to drag all of you down with, we can't beat Othinus by ourselves, we have to be strategic about this. Rescue Index from Othinus, then wait till the Anglican Church comes here in force, leave me with Touma."
Everyone present sighed before Tsushima responded "Please make it back alive Itsuwa."
"Don't worry I will, but in the end my life is secondary to stopping Othinus' schemes. Who knows what she's doing with Index at this very moment."
Meanwhile back with Index, Othinus, and the passed out Muireann. The three were still at the train station. The two conscious members of the group were busy "cleaning" the tomato sauce that was Ainmire off of themselves. Afterwards, the nun turned god shifted her attention to the unconscious girl on the ground.
"Hey, Othinus I think this girl is a selkie, can we keep her? I've always wanted a seal as a pet." Index said as her eyes sparkled at the sight of the girl
However, there was no response from the All-Father, instead there was silence, an eerie silence as Othinus stared at the ground. Index slowly approached Othinus, her hand reaching out to check on her fellow magic god.
"Othinus?" the nun asked "Are you ok?"
"...hungry." Othinus said in a low growl
"W-What?"
Index wasn't surprised at the word Othinus said, but rather the fact that it was her that said it. What Othinus said was befitting of the Devour, not the All-Father.
"Hungry…need…food." as Othinus said this, her drool started to drip towards the ground
"Well, if you're hungry Othinus, we should find Touma so that he could whip up some food or just head to a diner-"
However, the one eyed magic god ignored Index turned towards the unconscious Muireann on the ground, "Need…seal meat."
Index stumbled back a little upon hearing Othinus say those words, "Surely you don't mean to-"
Othinus then extended her hand towards Muireann "Give me that selkie."
"No!" Index dashed towards Muireann, picked her up, and began to tightly cling to the girl "You can't eat this selkie, this little sea dog, she's a person and cannibalism is wrong. Besides, it's forbidden in Scottish culture to eat seal meat."
Index said this seemingly unaware she was suggesting that she adopt the girl as a pet a minute ago. Othinus, on the other hand, started walking towards the two, drooling all the way.
"I'm not Scottish Index, I have no such qualms." Othinus' eye stared at Muireann with ravenous intent "I think I know what the problem is, you want her for yourself right? It's ok Index, there's plenty for the both of us."
At the same time Othinus said those words, Index's stomach began to grumble.
"Come on, former mortal, give in to your instincts, your desires. We just need to find Touma then we can partake in a feast of seal meat."
The Great Devourer shouted back, "I do not want to eat this girl Othinus! Why are you acting like this?"
"After whatever you did to bring me back, I'm absolutely famished. I feel like I could eat an entire Jotun right now."
"There are other sources of food, Othinus! We…we could just go to a restaurant, no need to eat this innocent girl." Index said while holding the definitely not innocent girl who, had he not fallen down the stairs, was about to stab Touma in the back. "She did nothing wrong."
Othinus pauses, "But I want food now, if we go to a restaurant we'll have to wait for them to prepare the dishes."
"We'll have to wait for Touma to prepare this selkie anyways, and that includes the time we spend finding him. Going to a restaurant will just be faster."
"Huh…I guess you're right, to a restaurant it is. Will they have seafood?"
"Um…"
Othinus then made a frustrated grunt after hearing Index's response.
"THERE WILL BE SEAFOOD!"
Afterwards, Index snapped her fingers to perform a phase change causing a car to suddenly materialize on the street next to them. It was a gray sedan, the latest model, complete with gps, an electric engine, and an onboard AI. The nun quickly hopped into the driver seat and frantically began searching for the nearest restaurant open at that time
"Cmon, cmon, there has to be a place open at this time!"
"Index, do you even know how to drive?" the norse god asked the nun
"Doesn't matter if I do, the car has self driving capabilities thanks to the onboard AI. Everything's fine, you don't have to eat the Selkie!"
In the distance, the Amakusas witnessed the conversation, they saw how the nun talked to the magic god seemingly without a hint of fear nor desire to run away. They saw how she seemingly followed Othinus' orders and helped her carry Animire's tag along into the car they thought the norse magic god conjured up. The nun going so far as to be Othinus' chauffeur. These observations along with Index's new attire and changes made the Amakusas believe one thing, Index was being mind controlled by Othinus.
Of course, with Othinus' power and magical skills, very few things were an impossibility for her, so making Index one of her thralls would be child's play for the head norse deity. The purple eyes Index sported were probably an indication of her control in the magicians' minds, there's also the fact that they had received reports of Index refining mana. If these reports were true, then Othinus bringing Index under her control would be the perfect explanation for this.
"Poor Index, she probably doesn't know what's she doing right now." said one of the Amakusas
"This just reaffirms our mission here, we are to rescue Index from the clutches of that evil god." responded Tsushima
"What about that selkie girl that came with Ainmire to kill Touma?"
"We'll save her too, she might have been our enemy had things gone differently, but we can't let her fall into the thralls of Othinus. Hopefully, it's not too late for her."
In the distance, the gray sedan that they thought Othinus, when in reality it was Index, conjured had its headlights turn on and proceeded to drive away from the train station
"Hey, looks like they're moving. Let's move out now."
Later, at a diner that was surprisingly open at that time in the night, Othinus and Index sat across from each other at one of the tables next to the windows. They had left the still unconscious Muireann in the car they came in and Gugnir was leaning on the window in the diner. As the Selkie lay in the car the two magic gods were busy chowing down on a mountain of food, towers of empty plates were stacked around them indicating just how much they've eaten. Surprisingly, the All-Father was eating as much as the nun with the black hole stomach.
After a while, Othinus looked down at her shaky food stained hands like a person who just committed a murder would look at their bloodstained hands. She began scanning the table and counted the plates she and Index had cleaned of their contents.
"Index," the All-Father said, "how many of these plates were mine?"
"About half of them." responded the nun "You actually kept pace with my own eating."
Othinus then grabbed the sides of her head, "Oh no…what happened to me?"
"You're saying you don't usually eat this much at normal size?"
"Of course not! Don't you have my memories, the only thing I had in large amounts was mead. The only person I knew, before you, who ate that much was Thor, the actual god, not the blonde feminine male who took up his name."
"Aren't you Thor's father? Perhaps his appetite from you, you know genetics and stuff. Maybe, it was just dormant all this time?"
"That's not how any of that works Index. Besides-" the magic god was then cut off when a waiter came over
"Is there anything else I could get you two?"
"Actually, we're done here, bring us the check please." the norse god answered
"But Othinus, I could still eat more."
"Silence, former mortal."
The waiter walked away and a minute later came back with the check for the food. They then began clearing the table of plates, leaving the two magic gods to ponder the check.
"I'm surprised that someone infamously barbaric in myths as you is actually considering paying for all of this. Now that I think about it, I could've just summoned some food at the train station."
Othinus rolled her eye at Index's remark "That's what I was talking about earlier, you don't have the experience or intuition of a magic god to make proper use of your abilities."
Index slammed a hand onto the table and pointed at the magic god across from her. "Then why didn't you do the same and instead tried to cannibalize the selkie girl?
"I…was hungry and I couldn't think straight. Anyways, the bill for our meal is 200,000 yen. I don't think the human has that much money in his account, I should probably just perform some phase magic to summon the money here."
Index then placed her hand on her chin before saying "You know we could just cut the heads of the staff and leave."
"I suggested we pay them, you went directly to murder. Who here is the more barbaric one here Christian?"
"Wait, your newfound hunger and my newfound bloodlust. Othinus, I had a feeling earlier, but I think our souls may be mixed up in each other."
"That…that actually explains a lot Index, though I have to point out that I am not so bloodthirsty as to murder innocent people like how you suggested."
"Yeah, well I never tried resorting to cannibalism to satiate my hunger…voluntarily.. So maybe our traits are combining in a way that's a little more negative than they usually are."
"Just another issue we have to address, let's just pay for the meal and find the human for now. You know, maybe he needs a hand with finances given that we're both going to be eating his wallet dry now. I should probably explain myself to the mortal, Itsuwa, too. It's not like she's going to kill Touma, I had no reason to scream like that, I think the hunger was getting to my head back then."
Outside the diner.
"They were just just eating…" said one of the Amakusa magicians "They're not attacking the staff, performing a ritual, or anything. They're even paying for all the food."
"Are you sure, it might be an illusion or some other trick?" asked Tsushima, "Othinus is the god of war and deception after all."
"We're not picking up any spells. Also, did Odin ever eat that much in the myths. I know the norse gods were heavy drinkers and maybe Thor would eat a feast, but not Odin."
It was then, the ringing from a phone was heard, Tsushima reached into her pocket and looked at the sender, it was Itsuwa. The blonde Amakusa answered the phone, on the other side, Itsuwa's labored breathing was heard. Though whether or not her breath was ragged from panic or physical exertion was up for questioning.
"Itsuwa, how are things on your end?"
On the other side of the phone call, Itsuwa was currently in a chemical shop, she had taken one of the special salts from the shelves and used it to wake up Touma. However, when Touma woke up, he seemed to be in a daze. Itsuwa asked how many fingers she was holding, while holding up 4, Touma answered "I dunno" and commented on his head ringing like an alarm clock.
"Things are mostly going fine over here, but there's something wrong with Touma. I think he has a concussion."
"Are you sure it isn't something Othinus has done to him? We suspect she's controlling Index right now, given her behavior and changes."
"I don't think it's something magical, I brought Touma's right hand to his head and he's still in a daze."
"Maybe Othinus gave him a concussion?" remarked Kouyagi while he was overhearing the call.
"Regardless of the cause, I'm going to bring Touma to a hospital to see if it's something they can hopefully fix. Is Othinus following me still?"
It was probably a wise decision on Itsuwa's part, Touma's poor brain has received more than enough damage for several lifetimes. The unfortunate boy doesn't need more brain damage.
"Actually, she never started following you, she just went to a diner with Index and ate a bunch of food." responded Tsushima
"That's good, that means I have time to get Touma help. The nearest hospital is pretty far away, so I'll try to get a car. Please tell me if Othinus starts moving."
"Got it, we'll also bring Index to you two once we get her. Hopefully, Touma's right hand can break her free of Othinus' control." The blonde magician then hung up the phone. "So anyone got any ideas to get Index away from her?"
"I've got one."
Later, as Index and Othinus walked out the diner, they spotted a cardboard box just sitting right next to their gray sedan. Othinus then walked over the box and kicked it, before saying.
"That trick isn't going to work on me mortals, but it is fortunate you did come like this, I've got a few things to explain to you and-"
Othinus soon realized that the box was empty, no one was inside. Instead, the Amakusas popped up from a nearby bush and dashed towards Index, picking the confused magic god up and running away. Othinus turned towards the Amakusas and witnessed this with a deadpan expression on her face.
"Sure, just take everyone I know and bring them on an adventure, and leave me by myself without explaining anything at all." Othinus then kicked the gray sedan in frustration.
Though the blow looked rather light, Othinus seemed to have put more force into it than intended since it tilted the car to its side, making it balance on a pair of wheels. This made Muireann go from the passenger seat to the driver seat. The AI on the car then detected the unconscious state of the girl, as well as the force imparted into it by the magic god. With it's limited knowledge and protocols it came to the conclusion, its driver had passed out from a minor collision and began speed off for assistance.
"We forgot to turn the car off, didn't we?" Othinus asked before chasing after the sedan
While Othinus was chasing after the car, Index was being carried through the streets of Academy City.
"I appreciate you guys carrying me, but I can walk by myself." Index said with a deadpan expression
"No can do, this is for your own good Index, we'll bring you to Touma and get this all fixed." said Tsushima
"Why'd you guys take Touma anyways?"
"It was to protect him against a dangerous threat."
"But, Ainmire is dead."
"There's a new threat that has arisen, or rather rearisen Index. We can't protect you against her right now, so all we can do is flee with you guys as we gather our forces."
"*gasp* Has the great demon Coronzon returned?"
"No it's…it's Othinus, she's been tricking you all this time and now she's back at full power."
"So Othinus tricked me into eating her, making me become a magic god, and then forced Touma to act all irrationally to bring her back at full power? I know she's the god of war and deception, but that's a little out there in terms of plans, given that when I brought her back she was screaming for help, her last moments before death were her begging. Also, if she has any evil plans she has to get through another magic god now, not to mention Touma. "
An eerie silence befell the area as all the Amakusas stopped running and turned towards the girl.
"I probably shouldn't have told you guys I'm a magic god now."
"You know maybe Index is just confused, Othinus is probably altering her perception so that she just thinks she is a magic god now." said a random Amakusa member
(Wait, I've got an out now!)
"Yeah, that's why we're going to bring you to Touma, Index, so that he can fix what Othinus did to you." Tsushima added
"Uh huh, you're right you know, Othinus is why I look like this now, wearing this swimsuit like armor."
Technically not a lie on Index's part, though she neglected to mention that her cat Sphynx was the real instigator
"In fact, now that I'm away from Othinus, I feel my thoughts are more clear now."
A half lie as recent revelations made Index more aware of her altered behavior. As Index was talking, Tsushima's phone began to ring, so the magician picked up.
"Hold on Index, Hey Itsuwa. We've managed to get Index away from Othinus so we don't know where she is, how are things going on your end?"
However, the nun turned magic god continued to talk despite Tsushima's asking.
"So I'm glad you guys got me away from that pagan god but…LOOK OUT OTHINUS IS RIGHT THERE!"
That one was a blatant lie.
As Index pointed at a random street corner and the Amakusas turned to face it in response. The magic god enacted her plan…she knocked out the Amakusas using her magic and sent them to a flight of stairs, the same one she sent Tatemiya. So in Necessarius HQ around 6 magicians suddenly appeared unconscious on a flight of stairs.
"Genius Index, you've solved that problem with no repercussions whatsoever.'
Meanwhile, in England, Tatemiya and Stiyl were currently standing over all six of the unconscious Amakusa members. They went around shaking the knocked out magicians awake before they stepped back from the flight of stairs.
"Are you all ok? What happened?" asked the substitute supreme pontiff.
"I think we're fine. We found out that Index was being controlled by Othinus, managed to rescue her, and then…we blacked out. Hey didn't you say you were in England, why are you here with us? Also…Stiyl is here?" said one of the Amakusa members
"I think I remember Index shouting that Othinus was somewhere nearby before blacking out." added Tsushima
"Looks like Othinus decided to be merciful today and just sent all of you back here instead of killing you guys." sighed Tatemiya "Hey, wait, where's Itsuwa?"
A few minutes ago
Itsuwa had acquired a car to help her transport Touma and began driving to the nearest hospital. She speeds through the empty streets of Academy city, barely taking heed of the traffic lights or speed limits posted. When it came to the safety of someone else, all bets were off. However, the girl still felt that something was wrong, so she decided to phone her fellow Amakusa members.
Upon the call going through, Itsuwa could hear the voice of Tsushim on the other side, "Hey Itsuwa."
"Tsushima, has Othinus started to move yet?"
"Well we've managed to get Index away from Othinus so we don't know where she is, how are things going on your end."
"I've managed to get a car and so I should be able to bring Touma to a hospital soon."
It was then that a certain nun's shouting could be heard over the phone, "LOOK OUT OTHINUS IS RIGHT THERE!"
Itsuwa flinched a bit, both at the sudden loud noise, and the idea that Othinus was near her. However, the girl mustered her composure and tried to resume her conversation with Tsushima.
"Is Othinus really there with you guys…Tsushima? Tsushima! Anyone? Please answer!"
The girl hung up the phone as a terrible realization came over her, her friends were gone and she was now the only Amakusa member left in Academy city. Tears began to form as the shock faded and the despair began to set in. It was then that Touma, who was drifting in and out of consciousness the entire time, began to fully wake.
"Ugh…my head is ringing like an alarm clock. Where…where am I?"
"Touma…you're…I" Itsuwa struggled to form the proper words as the tears swelled up in her eyes.
"Itsuwa, you're crying, what's wrong?"
"The Amakusa church…everyone they're…they're."
"Shhh, Itsuwa I understand, though I wonder, did Ainmire do all of this? Was he that powerful?"
"N-No, it was…it was Oth-"
As Itsuwa was uttering the name of who she thought was responsible, another car crashed into them at high speed, Itsuwa was too distracted to pull any evasive maneuvers. Thankfully both of them were wearing seatbelts, and alongside the car's airbags, they came out unscathed. However, they both saw a girl fly through the windshield and land some ways away. The front of their car was smashed like a crumpled piece of paper, Itsuwa tried to step on the gas but the car did not budge, to add on to this, the car they collided with had lit on fire and said fire was spreading to their vehicle. On the bright side, the hospital they were heading to was in sight.
"Touma, we need to get out of the car right now!" exclaimed Itsuwa as she saw fire begin to engulf their vehicle
Touma then exited the vehicle, followed by Itsuwa who came out the same side. The spiky haired boy wasted no time checking on the girl who flew out of her car though. He knelt over the girl and checked her pulse…it was weak and her skin was cold. Although Touma was known for not being the best student, he still recognized the symptoms the girl was facing, she was in shock. Upon this realization, Touma picked the girl up in a princess carry and started heading towards the hospital.
Itsuwa, on the other hand, took some time to catch up to Touma, and upon reaching him, she recognized the girl in his arms.
"Touma, that girl…she was the one Ainmire brought to help him kill you."
"Is that so? Even if they did intend to kill me, I can't let a helpless person just lay on the street while I can do something to help."
As Itsuwa was about to say another word, she noticed a shadow cast over her, it was that of a girl in a witch hat and cape, carrying a spear. The magician turned around to see the source of the shadow, it was Othinus. She stood in front of the raging fire that was caused by the car crash, her cape flowing in the wind, the shadow casted in front of her due to the light source from behind, and within that shadow, Itsuwa could see Othinus' one eye staring her down. Her green eye seemed like it was almost glowing, glowing with hatred at the person in front of her, or so it seemed to Itsuwa. Then, the magic god started walking towards Itsuwa.
The Amakusa magician gulped down her spit as she readied herself for the confrontation ahead. With each step that Othinus took, Itsuwa could hear her heartbeat increase in speed, the shaking in her hands becoming more and more intense. If this was a videogame there would probably be some epic music playing right now. Nonetheless, Othinus had closed the distance to Itsuwa, and that is when she began talking.
"Ok, so I'm not opposed to the idea of you guys taking my understander off to solve some issue in the world, but can you people at least tell me what you where you're taking him. Also, please at least give a heads up when you're going to take him."
(W-What, is she not going to try and kill me?)
"I do apologize for that bit of screaming earlier, I wasn't really feeling like myself at the time. You better savor this moment mortal, a god just apologized to you."
(She forgives me, what about my friends?)
"Also, what did you and the Amakusa church need Index for? Touma I understand, but it's not often that Index tags along with him. Though I'm not really worried about Index, she could handle herself now, although I have some things to teach her."
(Oh God, was Index the one who killed my friends?)
Itsuwa's thoughts were ironically closer to the truth than about 90 percent of what the rest of the Amakusas assumed about the situation.
"To be honest, I feel a little left out here. I know you're all assuming I'm a 15 centimeter fairy that can't do much, and normally you'd be right, but I recently regained my normal form. I know you have feelings for Touma, although your prospects at earning his heart are dim, we both know the guy could use all the help we need. So how about we form a partnership, and help him out? I might even give you a few prizes and boons from time to time if you agree."
What Othinus thought she meant: A earnest apology, followed by a proposal to reach some sort of agreement.
What Itsuwa heard: "I have decided to forgive your transgressions, mortal, and I am now offering you the chance to swear fealty to me. Together we can accomplish great things and I shall reward you for your service."
(What do I do? She's forgiven me, but she's also offering me to join her cause. If I join her, I'd be betraying what my friends stood for, they would never accept, they'd fight back. She's responsible for my friends being gone, but..,we were the aggressors here weren't we, no…it wasn't them it was just me. I'm responsible for all of this and I dragged my friends into this. Othinus knows this doesn't she? She's offering me a chance to fix all of this, to set things right. Well If I'm responsible for all this happening, then it's my duty to fix it, I shall earn back my friends life through service.)
"I, Itsuwa, magician of the Amakusa church, swear fealty to you, great and mighty Othinus."
(Where in all the phases in existence did this come from? I guess I'll take it? Is the human even going to be ok with this?)
"Are you…are you ok mortal? There's a hospital right there if you need help."
"No, no I'm fine, lord Othinus."
"I-I don't like you calling me that, like YOU specifically, it feels so wrong."
In the distance, Touma was still carrying the girl, Muireann, to the hospital, but he still heard what Itsuwa said to the magic god.
"What did Itsuwa just say?" He almost didn't believe that Itsuwa's words were really her's but he also knew that Othinus wouldn't do something like this. Still he yelled towards the two, "What was that I just heard Othinus? Is there something wrong, Itsuwa?"
The magic god yelled back "I don't know human! The mortal just started acting like this for no reason and now she's calling me her lord."
Meanwhile, the girl in Touma's arms was having the strangest dream. She was back home again, talking with her surrogate mother, Celt
"Muireann, whenever you find yourself unconscious and wake up to see someone who's face and name you recognize carrying you, always remember that that person is going to be a good partner."
"Celt, that seems like a very specific and odd piece of relationship advice."
"Oh no, dear, I'm talking from experience, it's how I knew some of my previous partners were keepers"
"Did…did any of them carry you like that at some point?"
"Well not in that regard, but this one time I went pubbing in town and had a bit too much scotch. I ended up being princess carried by just this sweetest girl that I met at the pub. We soon got together after that night"
"You never told me this story before, so what gives now?"
"Oh, this story isn't real." responded Celt
"Huh?"
"Yeah, I'm not actually Celt, we're figments of your imagination generated by the extreme stress and fear you experienced after those magic gods turned Ainmire into paste." said the dream entity that claimed to be her surrogate mother
"So am I in the afterlife now?"
"Uh no, you're still alive, you passed out shortly after that silver haired magic god killed Ainmire. They found out you were there shortly after but not what you were going to do. It's fortunate that the boy you were sent to kill rubbed off on them, they chose not to kill you on a whim, though I think if they knew what you were trying to do, you would end up like Ainmire. And while we're on the topic, that Ainmire guy is kind of a jerk and I don't think you should associate with him anymore."
"Ok, I think I'd like to wake up now."
"Well fine, but when you do, remember that piece of advice I gave you."
"Yeah, I sure will…I will totally keep that in mind."
Muireann then turned away from the dream entity, and as the dream faded, the selkie turned around once more, she saw an obscured version of the dream entity this time. Perhaps as a result of her waking up, she saw the entity as a dark skinned girl, just like her, but her right arm was one of silver and not flesh.
The last thing uttered by the entity before Muireann woke up was a giggle followed by the words, "Do the right thing, Muireann-chan~"
Muireann began to open her eyes, the first thing she saw was the night sky, due to light pollution she didn't see any stars, it was mostly satellites in the dark skies. She turned her head and saw the face of the boy she was sent to kill, Kamijou Touma, carrying him. For some reason, her heart began faster and faster, as her cheeks swelled with heat.
(Wait, what is this sensation I'm feeling right now? Oh I know, it's hate, it must be hate, hate for this guy right here and his cute face. This feeling should make it easier to kill this guy, maybe I should be subtle and not reveal that I'm here to kill him right away.)
"So I know you were sent here to kill me right?" asked Touma
(Damnit!)
"It's not that I'm angry with you, it's just that I'm curious as to why you'd want to kill me in the first place."
(Ok this guy seems really gullible and forgiving, maybe I could exploit this guy's positive traits to help me kill him and save the magic world…why do I suddenly feel all icky?)
Muireanna gulped before responding "Well, I thought you were going to destroy all magic with that right hand of yours, so we had to act."
"Oh, well that's a valid fear to have, but it is also very wrong. I don't have control over Imagine Breaker except for where it goes, and you don't see me hunting down magic cabals all over the globe now do you?"
"No…"
"Well glad, we cleared up that misunderstanding and shattered that illusion. Now, let's get you to this hospital."
"Uh, why are you carrying me anyways?"
"At first it was because you were in shock, but now that I'm holding you, I'm feeling some glass lodged in your body from the car crash."
"The what? You know my dream mentioned the two magic gods sparing me, but they didn't mention that for some reason."
"Your dream mentioned what now?"
"It's not important, say…since I tried to kill you and all, how about I make it up to you by becoming your servant?"
In the distance, Othinus could be heard saying "What did that selkie just say to my understander?"
"Woah, where is this coming from? I'm not sure if Index and Othinus are going to be ok with this." Touma, after some time walking, finally stood in front of the hospital doors. "Well, we're here, you know my head is still ringing a bit, I think I might need to check in to this place as well."
(Alright, I can't fight two magic gods, but maybe I could lure this guy into a false sense of security and catch him off guard.)
The Next day
Itsuwa was looking through her belongings, upending everything to find a single item.
"I swear, I had it last night, I was making a call with it when the car crashed…Oh, I left my phone in the car when it started to burn up didn't I? I'll need to find another way to get in contact with Tatemiya and tell him the news about everyone. I hope there isn't anything urgent he needs to tell me."
Back in England
"Damnit, Itsuwa picked it up!" Tatemiya shouted fruitlessly into the phone, only the monotone beeping of the dial up was heard, and the man dropped to his knees after this attempt. He had tried to contact Itsuwa for several hours at this point, he had assumed the worst, Itsuwa was now dead.
It made sense to the magician, Othinus had been rather merciful to the rest of the Amakusa church, but it was specifically Itsuwa that the god had called out for. The girl knew she would be hunted down, and yet her priority was the safety of Touma and the rest of the Amakusas. She had accepted her fate and upheld her ideals while doing so, the man would honor her memory. The entire Amakusa church would honor her memory, they would set things straight.
Tatemiya then dialed another number into his phone, "Stiyl, tell me when the alliance is going after Othinus?'
"One to two weeks," said the voice on the other side "We're getting some interesting allies too, Othinus' old friends in GREMLIN still want some payback, Ollerus' entourage joined up, but not the guy himself. Even a Fey sect is asking to join in on the alliance. It's clear that Kamijou Touma isn't enough to keep Othinus in check, Queen Elizard is now preparing a special room in the Tower of London for her."
AN: So I should probably explain the titling convention here.
Repository Additions cover the ascension, or re-ascension in the case of Othinus, of a Level 6 or Magic God and/or the immediate aftermath.
Addendums cover incidents involving one or more of the gods, and/or their thralls, this will be the most common type of chapter going forward.
Inquiries cover a character's road to ascension and are going to be the least common chapter types, though I've got 2-3 cooking up.
If you don't care about this chapter naming convention, then you could just read the chapters in release order, its fine as well I wrote them like that.
Also for some additional context, this fic takes place after an alternate GT5 where Alice never showed. Anyways I hope you laughed at least a little while reading this and see you next chapter involving a certain number 4...and a ghost. It's going to be less joke dense than the chapters up until now as a heads up.
As for my thought process on the previous chapter, I kinda forgot to have Tatemiya describe Ainmire. I also did some jokes in the background where Sphynx was still trying to catch Othinus despite her being normal sized again. Fun fact, the joke about Ainmire swearing about Touma having two gods in his back pocket was how this fic concept got off the ground in the first place.
