Eliza and William left. Allie sat down on the bed. Oliver watched her as she slipped off the slippers she had on. He noticed bruising along the ankles and shins of her legs. She stood up to take off her robe and he took her hands, "Allie your legs are bruised and there is blood on your night gown. There is a hot bath ready, come soak and relax it will help with the pain." Allie wrapped her arms around Oliver catching him off guard, he stumbled back and wrapped his arm around her tight hearing her mutter, "I am so sorry Oliver, I should have better controlled myself. I should have said nothing, you wouldn't have left. I wouldn't have betrayed Will and Eliza's trust doing the one thing I have been afraid of doing to them, let alone you. I put you and the other men in harms way, it was selfish of me. Please forgive me." Oliver scooped her up and carried her in the bathroom, he felt himself starting to loose his temper, thinking to himself, "She apologizes? Apologizes for that despicable doctor, who confessed by the way, to so much more than stalking her, he couldn't believe the things he had said about her. He had been stalking her for a bit now, hell all of them besides Investigator Wellington. The horrible things he said he had done to her, he knew she would know the sloppy attempt to poison her by the tainted laudanum bottle. Hell the asshole himself had known of their relationship he had tried to get a reaction by asking about the birthmark Allie had on her lower back and the scar she had on her inner thigh. Details only a person intimate with her would know. His blood boiled. If she only knew the things he spoke of her in front of a handful of officers she considered friends and colleagues, he knew she wouldn't be apologizing she would be sneaking in to Scotland Yard for the ultimate revenge, at this point he would hand her his gun and the keys to his cell even though she was more than capable of making it possible all by herself." Oliver had removed the robe she was wearing over her nightgown, and he saw blood that had soaked through above her knee. Oliver had been so lost in his own thoughts, he hadn't heard her sobbing. He lifted her chin so her eyes were now fixed on his. He kissed her as he wiped away her tears, she broke the kiss, and he felt her smack her hand against his arm, "Oliver? Do not ever go after anyone on my behalf again! I am thankful, but if I would have lost you..." He interrupted her with an angry kiss and a small growl as she was unknowingly adding fuel to the fire he felt raging within him. He prided himself on being level headed and calm no matter the situation. Was it jealousy? Was it anger? Probably both, no it was for sure both. He needed to get himself out of his head. He wanted to fire back at her and ask if she would feel the same way if the beloved Inspector was able to lead the investigation. He knew he sounded ridiculous, he was not jealous of the Inspector and Allie's relationship. He felt Allie pull away, his hands that were holding her to him tightly were now fists, and her night gown bunched up in those fists. "Oliver?" Allie looked at him fearfully and tears were still falling down her face. It was the same look of fear when she awoke after knowing the doctor had access to her. "Allie, I just need a second to clear my head. It is nothing you have done, I assure you. I love you get in the tub please and relax I will be back in a minute, I am going to get some bandage to cover your injury with." He knew he promised not to let her out of her sight, he was just going to step out of the door and ask for a bandage.

Allie stood there cold, in pain and alone. Oliver was acting off, he had never shown this part of him before, not that it changed her affections for him. He left her alone. She lifted her night gown to see where the source of blood was, she had a large scrape horizontally above her knee. Thinking to herself, did she expect to see nothing from after she ran, climbed a tree, fell out of the tree, and jumped down from a fence, let alone running into shrubs and branches, then hiding in a circle of shrubs. Oliver said they got him, and he confessed, confessing wasn't his style, taunting would fit better. She needed to see it to believe it. She trusted Oliver, but how was he to know what he looked like? She promised she would be here when everyone woke up, she could make it there on foot and take a carriage back. Oliver promised he wouldn't let her out of his sight, it wasn't his fault he needed to tend to her wound. He needed to leave the room to get the bandage. She didn't need his permission, she could explain herself after she confirmed it was him. Her thoughts were racing, what would she do after she saw him? Would she let rage take complete control, did she even know what she was capable of doing? She angrily wiped her tears away. She tore a towel in half and tied it around the wound. She took off her night gown and threw it in the tub. She ran out of the bathroom and saw Oliver's night bag, surely he would have a change of clothes. Clothes she knew would be easier to run in, get into Scotland Yard in, she grabbed a corset and tied it tightly around her before attempting to turn it the correct way with the ties in the back. Half way through the struggle she winced in pain, she was done with pain and with a quick strong pull had it correctly placed. She put on his button down, vest, and jacket. She grabbed his stockings out of the bag and quickly put them on, it was pure luck that she had found a spare pair of shoes that were very much unlike the shiny dress shoes he wore today. His bowlers hat had been safely tucked in the bag as well, she looked in the mirror and piled her hair on top of her head securing it with pins, eventually securing the hat down as well. She peaked out the door, she saw and heard nothing. She could get to the ballroom balcony without being detected, then through the back of the garden again. It was her best chance. She continued to reason with herself that asking for forgiveness was easier than asking for permission as she went down the stairs as fast and as quiet as she could. She reached the bottom and quietly walked into the ball room, it was already cleaned up. She stood in front of the door for a moment before running out, eventually they would no longer forgive her, even Oliver, you can only ask for forgiveness so many times before the forgiveness runs out. She made her way out to the main road undetected. A carriage slowed beside her, "Sir may I offer you a ride?" The driver seemed professional and Allie asked in a low voice, "Any chance you may be headed toward Scotland Yard?" The driver looked down at her again, maybe her voice wasn't passable for a man's. "Just your luck, I will be passing just by there," the driver stated." Allie keeping her head down, "Thank you Sir, I will pay you for your kindness once we get there."

Oliver had returned to the room. The door to the room was still closed. He let out a sigh before entering, he granted had taken more than a minute to obtain a bandage but more importantly he was able to calm himself and become reasonable again. Allie didn't deserve his frustrations and fears, she had enough of her own to handle. He opened the door, she wasn't in bed. Maybe she was still in the bath. He went in already speaking to her, "Allie, I found a bandage, I also need to apologize fo...Allie?" He cautiously made his way to the tub, he saw the night gown in the tub, he panicked, he removed the wet night gown and looked down, thinking he would see her body, possibly lifeless body, yet he saw nobody. "Allie?" He said louder, checking everywhere in the room, "Allie? I am sorry for the way I acted, come out please?" He started looking behind and under things knowing there was no way an adult would be able to hide there. He looked out the window, nothing. He looked down and saw the balcony door open and swinging in the breeze. "Jesus Christ." He ran out the door, and hating that he needed to interrupt whatever the Inspector and Eliza were up to, hopefully just sleeping. He could just run after her to find her alone, but that would create problems between him and the Inspector which at the moment he was in good graces and wanted to keep it that way. He would already be catching hell for letting her out of her sight. He stood at their doors and heard nothing, he knocked. He felt bullets of sweat run down his face. The door opened, the Inspector opened the door. "Detective?" Then the panic set into the Inspector's face. "I am so sorry Sir, I left but 5 minutes to clear my head and find a bandage for Allie's leg." William in an attempt not to wake Eliza or immediately take out Fitzroy said as calm as he possibly could, which of course wasn't calm at all, "Fitzroy! What has happened? Where is Al?" He felt Eliza behind him, "William? What.." Eliza's head peaked around him, "She ran, I knew she would. We need to go." William again trying to be a voice of reason, "Eliza you are not going anywhere. Fitzroy does your Aunt have horses? Al could be anywhere. Horses would be easiest, and quickest. Let the butler know we require horses quickly." William spun to finish getting dressed, as he only had the white dress shirt and trousers he had quickly put on to make himself decent. He spun right into Eliza, who was a small but sturdy wall when running into her unexpectedly, he knew what he said about her not going was going to anger her, especially since Allie was involved. "William, I will not stay here while you and Fitzroy go searching for her. I refuse to sta..." Eliza was interrupted by his lips. William rested his forehead against her and whispered, "I know what you are thinking, this has nothing with me trying to control you. I confess to wanting to keep being in a situation that may cause harm to you or possibility of losing our baby should you be pregnant. I need you here incase she comes back, I know you would be vital in helping us find her, but Eliza please don't fight me on this, Allie would want this too." Eliza had listened to his words as the left his mouth feeling the vibration of his voice on her forehead as he held her close, and her hands turned to fists pulling his shirt tight across his back, she knew he was right. "I know you are right, Allie isn't in her right mind at the moment, but if she knew I was with child and she put me in harms way it would kill her, and at the moment I fear she is hanging by a very raveled thread. Just bring her back, and you back safe. If I had a hunch and I know her like the back of my hand, she is on her way to Scotland Yard she wants to see that doctor for herself." Her hands released his shirt when she relaxed her fists. He kissed her and stepped away before taking her hand and kissing the rings he placed on her finger. He knelt before her, putting his hands on her waist and pulling her into him, he kissed her stomach and she ran her fingers through his hair, trying to keep her tears at bay. He stood back up and went to finish dressing. She had taken his hat that had landed on a chair after being thrown off. He came up to her taking her hands in his while he took his hat and placed it on his head, "Love, I will be back soon. I promise. I think for Al's safety I am going to keep her and Fitzroy in a cell." Eliza burst out laughing, "I know what you are thinking and that will only work until she can come up with a way to escape, him and the cell." Eliza turned solemn and said, "We may have to find her help, if seeing her assailant doesn't put her mind and heart at rest, I fear she won't settle until he is dead." William kissed her again quickly, "I know. I wish you Scarlet women were not..." Eliza kissed him hard, it was a kiss that would have ended up going further. The feeling he felt let him know that he needed to leave at that second. He broke the kiss, "Love there will be a time that kissing is not going to work as an interruption." Eliza rolled her eyes, "We will see." William smiled as he ran down the stairs. Opening the door he found Oliver saddled and holding his horse for him, "I am sorry to have kept you waiting Fitzroy." Fitzroy shook his head, "Sir there was no waiting at all, I just finished saddling them and came up front to meet you." William nodded, saddling the horse and racing off to Scotland Yard. He felt the fresh cool air stinging his face, he had forgotten the freedom he felt while riding. He felt 19 again, only Eliza was listening to him and her heart over her stubbornness, if only for a moment. Allie was still her brave, resilient, and strong self that occasionally raged war against herself when she felt like she was losing her control over her emotions and life. No matter how long it took for Allie to gain control again, or how long it took before Eliza was his every moment of the rest of his life, he was blessed beyond any measure he believed he deserved.

As Oliver approached town, he slowed down wanting to speak to the Inspector. They had not seen any sign of Allie yet, and though he prayed she had returned to his Aunt's and was back with Eliza, he knew in his heart that was not true. "Inspector? I have a feeling I know where she is or is headed since we haven't managed to find her yet." William smiled, he knew Fitzroy was a great detective and his instincts had sharpened, but he hadn't given him credit for knowing Allie's mind or soul. Maybe it was because he had been robbed of his promise to protect her that he made her when they were young, or because she had outgrown him having and control of her occasional yet clearly hereditary rebellious, strong willed soul. "Scotland Yard? Eliza and I feel the same. Shall we continue and hope to hell we beat her there?" Fitzroy nodded, and they took off. Neither knowing what they would find.

They had arrived and handed their horses to the guard posted outside Scotland Yard. Inspector Wellington asked the guard if a woman describing Allie's description perfectly had entered. "No Sir, no women at all have entered tonight and I have been on shift since 5pm. Good to see you again Detective Fitzroy." The guard was happy to attend their horses, as it would help keep him from dozing off. They entered together one looking around the waiting room, and offices and the other heading to the cells. Oliver was sent to the offices and scoured the waiting room, William still had a week before starting again and didn't want to be seen around the offices. William had run looking into each cell. There were no guards posted to watch those being held, which granted the cells were clearly not full, and they were short staffed. It was a liability all the same, if not to keep people in, but to keep people out. He was just about to the last cell when he heard the lock click and door open, as he turned a corner he saw a man enter the cell. He saw the man kick the wood bed another man was asleep on. He heard something behind him, it was Fitzroy. He signaled towards Fitzroy to come and be quiet. Fitzroy was just behind the Inspector when he heard another kick to the bed, and a yell from a familiar female voice, "Wake up! Come on you bile inducing sack of flesh! WAKE UP DR. MCCANDLESS!!!! The Inspector look back at Fitzroy, Fitzroy nodded and another kick was heard, followed by a man's voice, "What the...Oh! You are a difficult find, dressed like a man are we? Can't hide those mesmerizing hazel eyes and full soft lips, and gorgeous pink cheeks my love. You looked beautiful today, your family is..." Dr. McCandless groaned loudly after an audible punch landed to his jaw. The Inspector started forward, but was pulled back by Fitzroy who shook his head no, and whispered, "Let's give her at least this." The Inspector's eyes smiled and he nodded. "You dare speak of my family?" Allie yelled and punched him again. Dr. McCandless groaned and said back in a way that tormented her, "Your lover would go to hell and back for you, I will make him and your family go beyond the depths of hell when I am finished with you. Your so smart thinking if you ran I would never catch up, but look at you settling down being even more of a liability to your friends and family. How accepting they must be to love such a piece of shit person, can't even give birth to a breathing child. Worthless bitch, fallen and broken. Should have stayed as my mistress, I can keep your secrets. I can't imagine a Chief Inspector and Detective would want to harbor and keep such filth. I would have treated you well, hell my wife came around to the idea even. Had I known what a shit medic you would become I wouldn't even waste my time on you, can't teach whores shit." She let him carry on, "Anything else Doc? Anything else you need to say before I make this look like a fucking accident?" She pulled him up so he was sitting, "No? You are done? Last chance..." Allie felt crazy, she lifted him up off the bed, he was a small man insignificant little man. Allie slammed him against the wall and let him drop to the floor. She was beginning to position herself to kick him, she felt strong heavy tight arms wrap around her, a comforting voice in her ear while she was being lifted and carried out of the cell, "Al he isn't worth it." She was fighting William trying to over power him, "Let me go! Let me finish this!" She thrashed in his arms more, Oliver's hat fell to the ground and her hair fell over every where, as she had used all the pins to pick the lock, she yelled as she saw Oliver bring keys to lock the cell again, "Will, if you love me let me go." Oliver stopped and looked at her, watching as the Inspector fought her hands to place them behind her back, and pushed her against the wall face first holding her in place with his body, to free up a hand incase she tried anything else. She heard the lock click back over, and Oliver jiggle the door to make sure it was secure. Dr. McCandless scoffed, "Even your boys don't love you enough to hear your plea, and satisfy your wishes." Oliver kicked the cell door making a loud boom, "Shut the fuck up, I would shoot you myself right now if I thought that would truly relieve her night mares and give her peace!" Allie continued to fight, and felt Williams hand now on her forehead to keep it in place against his chest. His face lowered, "Alexandra Scarlet, it's because I love you I refuse to let you go. I let you go once, and it will never happen again. Please stop fighting me, I know what you are feeling love, you are seeing red, you are willing to spend the rest of your life locked up as long as you have the satisfaction he is dead. I refuse to let you pay for what he has done. All of us need you to not to spend your life behind bars, Oliver needs to wait for you at the front of a church, I need to walk you down then aisle. I need you to be our voice of reason, I need you to hold and love on I and Eliza's babes, and you might as well plan on me doing the same to whatever spawns of satan you and Oliver make. So please Al, if you love me, hell not even me, any of us for that matter; Stop, let the law take care of that waste." She felt Will kiss the top of her head. She also felt warm droplets in her hair, "Will? I will stop. Please I know I don't deserve your trust, but at least let me turn around and face you?" As he let go of her she turned and faced him, he had fresh tears coming from his eyes, she reached up and swept them away. Will placed his hand over hers as it rested against his cheek. He lowered their hands to rest on his chest, her hand flattened out against him while he held her hand in place tightly against him. She felt his heart racing, she looked up at him she needed to look in his eyes, she needed to know what they said. Were they scared? Angry? She moved her other hand to his chin lifting it so she could see into his eyes, she felt her eyes let tears she had been fighting flow freely. He removed the hand that had held hers against him, he held her head in his hands and wiped the tears away with his thumbs. Her eyes were full of fear and sadness again, he thought she broke his heart before, apparently she had this effect on him and he needed her to know it, "Al, it's going to be over I promise, Oliver has gone up to request a guard be stationed at all times in front of his cell, everything he could use as a weapon has been removed, including those damn pins that fell off your head. I can only be strong for so long, the difference between you two Scarlets is you can break me in ways and depths Eliza herself can't reach. I could have let you go, I could have stood by and watched you destroy him. You know I am far too selfish and love you too much for that. Fitzroy, God bless him would have, that man will do anything for you to be happy, he has nothing to do with me restraining you." He pulled gently on her hands, lead her up the stairs and out to where Oliver had just finished assigning staff to the cell. He looked over his shoulder and saw Allie and the Inspector, giving her a gentle smile he told both that they would be moving to a high security holding, and he would oversee it himself when they return tomorrow. Allie removed her hand from William's and embraced Oliver. Oliver couldn't care less he was showing her affection in front of all to see. He kissed her softly, "I love you, are you ready to head out?" Allie nodded and overhead one of the constables tease Oliver about his beautiful boyfriend. She felt Oliver place his bowler hat back on her head, her hair was wild underneath. He kissed her soundly for show, and smiled against her lips he just kissed, "It's true Allie, even dressed as a man you are gorgeous. You can borrow my clothes as much as you want." Allie smiled, truly smiled. William cleared his throat to get their attention, "Time to head back." Stepping outside, she saw the two horses. "Oliver offered her his hand which she clearly didn't need, then got on behind her.

He wrapped his arms around her waist moved her hair to the side, and whispered in her ear, "I am assuming you are going to be handling the reins?" Allie nodded, he removed his hat and placed it between their bodies so it didn't fly off, then replaced his arms around her waist tightly. Allie smiled looking over at William, he nodded. They took off into the night.
