This is just my interpretation of a alternate scenario where Malak takes a reprogrammed Revan instead of Bastila. I know that in reality, Malak would've just killed the reprogrammed (or brainwashed) Revan.
This is a scenario that switches Bastila and Revan's roles near the end of the game.
I don't own Kotor or the characters. This story also isn't related to my other story, Sara's Past, and it's sequel.
Main Character Name: Tana Bell
On the Ebon Hawk, sitting in the spaceport of Dreshdae, Korriban's only colony:
Carth and Bastila sat in the Ebon Hawk's cockpit, as they powered up the smuggler ship they had been using since Taris. "And we are out of here." Carth said, as he controled the Ebon Hawk gently out of the spaceport's hangar and into the air.
"That's good news." Bastila said, sitting next to Carth in the other pilot's chair, looking out the viewport as they flew higher and higher and eventually out of the planet's atmosphere and into space. Even though, Bastila remained on the Ebon Hawk, for fear of getting recognized and captured by the Sith, she felt incredibly anxious and nervous with Tana being in the middle of the Sith Academy.
Now that they got the Star Map coordinates on Korriban, the only planet that they had left to visit for the final piece of the Star Map is Manaan, the homeworld of the Selkath.
"Setting a course to Manaan." Carth said, as he plugged the coordinates to the Ebon Hawk's navicomputer, and the Ebon Hawk jumped into hyerspace, away from Korriban, and both the Jedi and the soldier sat in the pilot's seats, looking out the viewport. "We should be there in a few days."
Ebon Hawk:
Tana was sitting in the small storage room, just off the main hold. She just needed to be alone, and just didn't need to deal with anyone right now. While she was on Korriban, she felt it get increasingly difficult to avoid giving in to the temptations of the dark side, since resisting took a lot of energy out of here. Dealing with Uthar Wynn, Yuthura Ban, and other Sith was tiring, along with the fact that she was constantly watching her back to make sure that she wasn't stabbed in the back by the other Sith Academy students.
She took a few Sith Artifacts with her thinking she could use them in some way, hoping they'd give her some power in the upcoming fight with Malak. If those didn't work, then she could just dump them off the next time they land.
She found herself repeating both the Jedi and Sith code, only to stop repeating it since she felt dissatisfied with both paths. She took off the visor she was wearing and placed it on the counter, and sat down in the room's rotating chair, and kicked her legs up on the counter.
"Tana?" Mission asked, knocking on the door to the room, as Tana just turned around to face the Twi'lek girl and the Wookie. "We can't find Bacca's Ceremonial Blade or my vibroblade. We were wondering if you sold them."
Tana just looked at Mission from her position on the rotating chair. Tana did sell equipment to the merchants on Korriban, but she only sold the items that they didn't need or didn't use. "I couldn't sell those since they are important to the two of you. They should either be in your bunk or the cargo hold."
"Oh, thank you! I was concerned that you sold them." Mission said, clearly relieved as she quickly hugged Tana, and left with Zaalbar. "Come on, Big Z. Let's check the cargo hold."
Tana just let out a tired sigh as she got up, and closed the door to the room, that she was in. She was too drained of energy to remove the light battle armor she was wearing, so she just left it on. She didn't want to get disturbed and just needed space and rest, as she sat back down in the rotating chair, and kicked her legs up onto the counter crossed her arm, and threw her head back to stare at the ceiling for awhile before drifting off to sleep.
Carth remained in the Ebon Hawk's cockpit, as Bastila and Juhani were meditating on the floor behind him.
"Hey Bastila, can I ask you about something?" Carth asked reluctantly, after fighting a battle within his head over this topic, as he spun around in the chair to face the two Jedi.
I'm assuming that it has something to do with Tana, doesn't it?" Bastila asked, with her eyes closed, as she and Juhani, the Cathar female Jedi, kept meditating.
"I...uh...yes, it does." Carth admitted, reluctantly, as Bastila opened her eyes and stopped meditating, and looked at the pilot.
"Well, what did you want to say?" Bastila asked, patiently.
"Well, the truth is, I am worried about her." Carth said, hoping that his feelings for Tana weren't that obvious.
"And you are beginning to care about her too." Bastila added, as the pilot could only nod in response, since Bastila clearly recognized his feelings for Tana, which meant that the others would most likely recognize it also. "The Jedi are forbidden to have any romantic relationships."
"I know. I can't help but feel attracted to her because she's strong." Carth said, looking at Bastila. "That didn't stop Jolee."
"I know, but it's the fear of temptation that comes from a romantic relationship that could lead to the dark side. That is what the Jedi are supposed to avoid." Bastila said, as she avoided the topic of Jolee being married in the past, since she didn't fully understand that path. She didn't have to think about it for very long before Carth returned the conversation back to Tana.
"I'm worried about her since I don't know what happened on Korriban. I mean Jolee and Juhani were both with her, before Juhani had to return to the ship after a few days, leaving Jolee with Tana, the rest of the time."
"Carth, I'm worried about her two. It takes a lot of energy to resist the dark side, and I fear that Tana has been resisting it ever since we landed on Korriban. She might be too exhausted to further resist the dark side."
"I gotta respect her since she killed a portion of the Sith Academy just to save my son. I don't know how she did but I'm just glad that she did." Carth said, looking, at the floor for a few moments. "I know she can defend herself, but I also want to help protect her. I want to spend the rest of my life with her."
"I guess that will be easy for you. She claims that once Malak is defeated, then she'll go back to smuggling or that's what she tells me." Bastila said, with what looked like a sad expression on her face, that quickly vanished. "At least, she won't be taking that homicidal droid with her."
"Great. I'll go find her and and let her know how I feel since I want to get it off my chest."
"Alright. If you are looking for her, I think she's been in the storage compartment since we left hours earlier." Bastila said, as she went back to mediating with Juhani while Carth left the cockpit.
Carth entered the main hold, and turned to approach the door to the small storage room. "Hey Tana, it's Carth. Can we talk?"
Tana just let out a tired groan, at the sound of the knock on the door. "What do you want Carth?" Tana asked, in an exhausted and quiet tone, instead of the usual loud and stubborn tone.
"Are you okay? You don't seem yourself since we left Korriban." Carth said, through the door. "Are you going to let me or am I just going to be talking to a wall?"
"What do you mean by acting strange?" Tana asked, through the door hoping that he would leave since she just wanted to go into a deep sleep. "You don't really know me, aside from what you learned about me since Taris."
"That maybe true but I want to get to know you further." Carth said, leaning against the door.
"I want to help protect you from people and yourself." Carth said, continuing when Tana didn't reply. "I want to have a future with you, Tana."
Tana just listened to Carth as he told her that he loved her. She found herself attracted to him for awhile, but he seemed to be sorting through his feeling with his deceased wife, and her. "Carth, just give me a few days to think about it." Tana responded, since she didn't want to think about anything other than sleep.
"Ok, good. I'm glad that you'll think about it." Carth said, feeling somewhat relieved, as he walked away from the door, leaving Tana be to sleep, as he returned to the cockpit and sat in the pilot's chair.
"Well, how did it go?" Bastila asked, in a gentle and curious tone, while still meditating.
"Well, she wouldn't let me in but she sounded exhausted." Carth said, turning his gaze to the viewport. "I told her how I'm feeling and she told me that she will think about it."
"Don't worry about it to much Carth." Bastila said, as she continued meditating. "We have bigger things to worry about."
Changes:
Looking back at the original story, I don't like how I wrote Tana as a dark side leaning annoying brat. I don't remember why I did that either. For this story, I'll attempt for Tana to be more of a Gray Jedi (or in the middle) instead of a reborn Dark Side monster. I'm going to be rewriting this and adding to it.
Note: This is a rewrite of the original story that I never finished. I'm rewriting the unfinished story but I'm going to be adding to it, so it seems more, idk, full. That and I just don't like how I wrote it originally.
