Spilled Drink

"Alright, Phil. It's your round." A dirty blonde haired man patted his brother on the back, sitting in the bar with some other men in uniform.

"I can't believe I get roped into buying a round of drinks when I don't even drink." Phil, or Punk to most, shook his head, standing up and taking his wallet out.

"Well that's your problem not ours." Dean, his little brother chuckled as Punk shoved his head.

"Alright alright." Punk nodded, listening to his work friends get rowdy and thirstier by the second. The reason he didn't drink wasn't because he frowned upon it. He loved hanging out with his buddy's in the bar after a shift. It was more personal to him.

He headed over to the bar, budging his way by people and putting in the order with the lady behind the bar who knew them all as regulars.

"Are they really making the guy who drinks water buy a round of drinks?" The lady behind the bar, Kat asked.

"Ridiculous, right? Every time." Punk shook his head as Kat chuckled.

"Well you're the fool who does it." Kat smiled.

"Oh, I know." Punk nodded.

"You boys have a rough one tonight?" She asked whilst pouring the pints of beer and adding them to a tray for him to carry over.

"Nothing worse than the average." Punk said modestly.

"Second hand nature, I bet." Kat said, "Like me pulling pints." She nodded as he chuckled.

"Exactly like that." Punk said, taking out money from his wallet and handing it over to her.

He then lifted the tray with the several pints of beer on it, carefully lifting it from the bar when suddenly someone bumped into him, causing him to stumble forward a little, watching almost in slow motion as all the beer he was carrying tipped over like dominos, and spilled all down a young girl's back who was sitting at the bar.

The woman squealed immediately, leaping out of her stool as she felt beer running all down her back and hair, turning around with rage as Punk stood, wishing the ground to swallow him up.

"What the hell?!" The woman yelled.

"I am… so sorry." Punk gulped.

"God, I'm… I'm soaking." The girl whined, "And I stink." She shook her head.

"What the hell, man? You not got a set of eyes?" The man spoke up who was with the girl, no doubt her boyfriend by his protective input.

"I do I just… someone bumped me." Punk explained, "I'm so sorry, please let me buy you a drink."

"I think you've gave me enough drink." She spat, "I… I can't sit like this. I'm gonna have to go home now." She turned to her boyfriend.

"Fucking idiot." Her boyfriend looked over at Punk angrily whilst Punk sat the tray back down on the bar, looking to Kat who just shook her head with a very small smile.

"I really am sorry. It was an accident." Punk made clear, watching as the woman just shook her head angrily, grabbing her coat and purse, storming out of the bar as her boyfriend followed.

"I thought she was going to start swinging on you." Kat commented as Punk turned to her.

"You're not gonna make me pay for another round, are you?" Punk groaned.

"No, I think you're having a rough night as it is." Kat chuckled, "You go sit down and I'll bring them over to you, just to be on the safe side." She nodded.

"Thanks." Punk shook his head, walking back to his seat with his brother and friends.

"What happened, butter fingers?" Dean chuckled, nudging Punk as he sat down, chuckling with their friends as Punk just smiled. He never took himself too seriously, that was for sure.

"It must have been like seven pints of beer. All down my back. In my hair." A short, Puerto Rican woman complained the next morning, standing at the front desk in the hospital where she was completing her residency in neurology.

"Oh, you got dressed up last night, didn't you?" Her blonde friend, Renee asked.

"Yeah. I did my hair real nice. Little bit of make-up. Put a dress on." April, or AJ to most nodded, "Jason was so mad. He wanted to punch the guy." AJ shook her head with a smile.

"I would have punched the guy." Renee chuckled, filling in some paper work at the front desk.

"Trust me, I almost did." AJ nodded.

"I gotta go do my rounds." Renee grabbed some folders, "I'll see you at lunch."

"If we get lunch." AJ corrected as Renee nodded, laughing which turned into a groan as she walked off, causing AJ to smile.

AJ grabbed some of her folders to make rounds of her patients, about to head down the corridor when she noticed the man from last night who spilled so much drink on her, standing at the desk.

She had way too big a mouth to not go say something to him. She wandered her way over, clearing her throat as she got closer to him to get his attention, watching him look up and notice her.

"Come to apologise?" AJ asked as Punk shook his head.

"Nope." Punk smiled, "Just here to help out." He nodded as AJ looked him up and down.

"And how does a… fireman help out in a hospital? Isn't your speciality burning buildings?" She questioned. She could see by his uniform that he was a fireman, a handsome one too.

"It is." Punk nodded, "I brought in two patients this morning and I was just handing in a report for it. They were burned pretty badly and the police asked me to leave some details for them here about the fire." He said as AJ nodded slowly.

"How badly?" AJ wondered.

"I'd say needing a ton of skin graphs badly." Punk nodded to her as she cringed, "Yeah, not pretty." He shook his head as she nodded, "At least you don't smell of beer anymore." He teased as she looked at him, unimpressed.

"You know… I don't know you for you to be making jokes." AJ shook her head.

"Well I apologised." Punk chuckled, "And I offered to pay for a drink for you."

"I was soaking wet with beer down my back and in my hair." AJ rolled her eyes, "I had to go home and change. My night was ruined."

"Well I can't do more than apologise, can I?" Punk looked at her.

"I guess not." AJ shook her head, "Excuse me, I have to go see my patients." She nodded to him, walking on by as Punk watched her walk off, smiling to himself and shaking his head. Her attitude was rare, and he very rarely came across a woman who got in his face. He didn't dislike it, that was for sure.

"I'm home." AJ called, walking into her home which she shared with her boyfriend, dragging her feet along the floor after a long and gruelling shift.

"Hey, babe." Jason, her long-term boyfriend and recently fiancé smiled, meeting her at the door with a kiss as AJ smiled, "How was your day?"

"Long." AJ huffed, taking her coat off and hanging it up by the door, walking into the living room.

"Well I made you dinner, all you gotta do is heat it up." He said.

"Thanks, baby." AJ smiled, collapsing down on the couch to give her feet a rest, "How was your day? You make any sales?" She asked him, taking hold of his hand sweetly.

"A few, yeah." Jason nodded to her.

"Good going." AJ said, "What's this?" She noticed some brochures on the coffee table.

"Your mom stopped by earlier just after I got home from work. Wedding brochures." He said as AJ rolled her eyes.

"I wish she'd stop. We told her that we were waiting a year." AJ shook her head.

"I know but I think she's just excited." Jason smiled, sitting down beside her.

"Overbearing more like." AJ shook her head, "I'm dreading the weeks leading up to the wedding, she's going to be a complete nightmare."

"Stop." Jason chuckled.

"She is." AJ laughed, "I so wish I wasn't an only child so they could focus their energy on someone else." She shook her head.

"I know but it means you get extra love." Jason teased as AJ shook her head.

"Extra suffocating." AJ corrected, "Oh, guess what?" She remembered.

"What?" Jason asked.

"I saw that guy from last night who spilled his drinks on me." AJ nodded.

"At the hospital?" Jason questioned.

"Yeah, he's a fireman, he was handing in a fire report." AJ said, "Of course I had to say something." She said as Jason chuckled.

"What did you say?" He asked.

"Just reminded him that he ruined my night and had me going home early with beer down my back and through my hair." AJ shook her head, "I swear I can still smell it."

"No you can't." Jason assured, "I'll go fix your dinner." He told her, kissing her head as she smiled and relaxed on the sofa whilst he headed through to the kitchen.

"I brought home pizza." Punk announced, walking through the apartment he shared with his brother, throwing the pizza box down on the kitchen counter.

"Sweet." Dean smiled, coming out from the living room and heading into the kitchen where Punk sat down at the table, taking a slice of pizza, "Busy day?" He asked.

"Understatement." Punk said exhaustedly, "You know how many false fire alarms we got called out to today?"

"How many?" Dean asked.

"Thirteen." Punk nodded, "New record I think."

"Fucking ridiculous." Dean shook his head, "Glad it was my day off." He nodded.

"And guess what? I saw that chick I poured the drinks over last night." Punk told him.

"Where?" Dean chuckled.

"At the hospital. I think she's a doctor or a nurse there." Punk said, "Not shy, that's for sure."

"It was pretty hilarious watching it happen. Watching your face." Dean laughed.

"I wanted the ground to swallow me whole." Punk shook his head.

"I went and visited mom today." Dean told him as Punk nodded along quietly.

"Did she know who you were?" Punk asked as Dean just shook his head.

"No… like talking to a stranger." Dean shook his head.

"I'll go visit her on my day off." Punk nodded.

"I thought she recognised me at first but… nah, she had no clue." Dean shook his head.

"You heard from dad?" Punk asked as Dean just shook his head. They were very close brothers and always had been. So close that their paths they'd taken in life were extremely similar, to the point of working and living together. It always meant that any family challenges they went through, they always had each other to lean on, and that was something they were extremely grateful for. Especially right now.

A/N: Something new! Hope you guys will enjoy and let me know what you think so far! (I promise I'll keep Punk out of prison) LMAO.
