Time Together

"Fuck, yes! Keep going." AJ moaned, hands pressed on the beside stable, standing on one leg whilst Punk held up her other, thrusting into her from behind. Every time they slept together she discovered something new she liked. To say she had only been in missionary -esque relationships prior to this was an understatement.

"Fuck, baby." Punk moaned, thrusting into her deep, her moans and begging thrilling him. Of course there was part of his ego that just loved to hear just how much she was enjoying herself, and she was enjoying herself… a lot.

"Harder." AJ begged as Punk thrusted harder, feeling himself getting closer, "I'm gonna cum." AJ moaned, "Fuck!" She yelled, her knuckles going white as she gripped the edges of the bedside table, moaning in ecstasy as Punk smiled.

He thrusted inside her until he found his release, gripping around her waist, stumbling back onto the bed and pulling her with him as she chuckled.

"Fuck me." Punk said breathlessly as she smiled.

"I did." She grinned cheekily, leaning up and kissing his cheek as he chuckled, "You know what was the most satisfying part about all of that?" She asked him.

"What?" Punk asked curiously.

"Stripping you out of your uniform." She smiled as Punk chuckled.

"Really? I put in a hard shift with you there and that was the most satisfying part?" He asked as she smiled.

"Ok… one of the most satisfying parts then." She smiled, placing her hand on her sweaty forehead, "I said I wasn't gonna come here tonight." She admitted.

"And yet." Punk smirked.

"I did. I said I was going to go home or… go to Renee's, and catch an early night." She nodded, "Then you text and my plans headed straight out the window."

"You didn't really wanna just go to sleep anyway." Punk scoffed.

She'd practically spent the past week in his bedroom. When she wasn't working she was with him. It wasn't necessarily part of her plan to give herself some time to think, cause all she could think about was when she could see him next. But she couldn't help it. He was like a magnet, drawing her right in every time.

"Ok, I gotta ask… how many girlfriends have you had?" She asked him, lying horizontally on the bed on her back beside him.

"Why are you asking that?" Punk laughed.

"Cause you for damn sure know what you're doing." She raised her eyebrows, still feeling flushed as Punk smiled.

"Well, surprisingly I've only had one girlfriend. And she was a high school girlfriend. You know when you just get with someone to lose your virginity type of girlfriend." He nodded.

"That's awful." AJ gasped.

"No, everybody did it." Punk shrugged.

"That's the only girlfriend you've ever had?" She turned her head to look at him.

"Girls in the past haven't really made it to the girlfriend question." He said as she nodded, "I think it's my job. It's unpredictable. Sometimes I'm on scheduled shifts and other times I'm not home until the middle of the night." He said.

"Believe me, I understand that." She laughed a little, "When I first started med school I always said I needed a man who could handle living on borrowed time." She nodded.

"So when did you meet Jason?" He asked curiously.

"Whilst I was in med school actually. He was a friend of a friend. We got introduced and.. the rest was history." She nodded, "I still haven't heard a thing from him." She thought about it.

"Maybe you won't for a while." Punk shrugged.

"Maybe, but we do need to talk eventually, even if it's to officially break up and call it quits. I got a lot of stuff still in the house that I'd need to get." She said. The idea of Jason became further and further away the more time she spent with Punk.

"You hungry?" He tapped her arm.

"Yeah." AJ nodded.

"You wanna order in?" He asked as she nodded, "Ok." He said, going to sit up from the bed when she pulled him back down by the arm.

"But not right now." She grinned, climbing over him as he chuckled. She was wild, and it was like this side of her personality hadn't been able to come out for so long. He was glad he could see it. See the real her.

"Shauna has been on my back all day." Renee huffed, sitting in the break room with AJ who had just gotten herself a coffee, "I turn around and she's there, even when I was going to the bathroom. It's like some days she just picks a resident to rile up."

"Glad it's not me today. I got it from her yesterday." AJ shook her head.

"Were you with Phil last night?" Renee asked her as AJ nodded.

"Yeah, why?" AJ asked.

"You told me you were going home to have an early night in bed." Renee scoffed.

"Well I thought I was and then he text me." AJ shrugged.

"Are you that weak?" Renee raised a brow.

"No, he's just that good." AJ nodded, "I actually stayed at his place the whole night. We ate dinner together at like 4am. It was good."

"You've been with him like… every night this week." Renee said, "Even if Jason did forgive you, I think it's a little disrespectful to even entertain the idea of going back to him when you've been so… occupied."

"What's your problem?" AJ shook her head.

"I don't have a problem." Renee shook her head.

"You're just mad I got to do it on the fire truck before you." She grinned as Renee nodded.

"I am mad about that." Renee agreed, "I just think you know what you want now and… when you talk with Jason, you gotta tell him the truth. Tell him that you've fallen in love with someone else… you wish him no ill will, bla bla bla… it'd save him the embarrassment of potentially forgiving you just to then hear you don't even want forgiveness."

"I do want forgiveness." AJ said, "I want him to forgive me for hurting him, obviously."

"You're still sleeping with Phil, though." Renee said, "And any time I bring up Jason it's like you still think he's your fiancé." She shook her head.

"No I don't." AJ said.

"You do." Renee said, "To state the obvious, you can't have them both."

"Renee. What's your problem?" AJ shook her head with confusion, "I know Shauna's been giving you a hard time today but… maybe don't take it out on me."

"I'm not." Renee said, "I just… I think you know exactly where your heart is and you should go with it. You and Jason should just go your separate ways and be done with it." She nodded.

"Yeah, only that sounds a little cold for someone I was supposed to be marrying at one point." She said.

"And now you're not. Now it's time you just… you both move on. You seem to be already moving on." Renee nodded.

"Yeah and you don't seem too thrilled about it." AJ looked at her, "Is Dean saying something to you?"

"No, it's nothing to do with him." Renee said, "I just… I want you to follow your heart. That's it. I've never seen you happier than what you've been this week. I kinda feel like a bad friend for not noticing how much your relationship with Jason just wasn't for you."

"It was. I loved him." AJ assured her, "Just… things got a little tough."

"You should just be honest with yourself and be with Phil. You clearly love him and you haven't shut up about him this week." Renee said.

"Is that why you're mad? Cause I won't shut up?" AJ smiled.

"Maybe." Renee laughed a little, "I just think you've found something good here."

"I do too." AJ nodded.

Punk got home from work later that night, having had a rough shift. He knew Dean was going to Renee's apartment and so figured a visit from AJ would be inevitable, he just wasn't sure his mind was in the right place after the chaos of the night.

He walked down the apartment, opening up his bedroom door and jumping with fright as he saw AJ was already there, lying on his bed in a red lingerie set. He instantly smiled, it would have been so difficult not to.

"Hey." AJ smiled, leaning back on her elbows.

"Hey." Punk smiled, "Did you climb in the window?" He wondered teasingly.

"Dean let me in." She smiled.

"Did you look like that when you saw him?" He teased again as she smiled.

"No. This is just for you." She assured him. Getting to do this and see the reaction from him was the things she never realised she was craving in her relationship with Jason, and simply never got.

"You look incredible." Punk nodded, sitting his keys down on the bedside table, "You know red is my favourite colour." He told her as she smiled.

"I do know." She said, watching him take his jacket off, tossing it over on the floor, collapsing on top of her on the bed as she giggled, "I bought it just for you." She whispered, kissing him softly as he kissed back.

It was strange how his mood instantly uplifted when he saw her. Of course the lingerie did help, but it wasn't really that, it was just her, seeing her face and kissing her lips after a day which normally would have sent him straight to bed on his own… it was the first time he really noticed just how much he was depending on her, how much he felt he needed her.

"Fuck, I'm so glad you're here." He said, rolling onto his back and taking her on top as she kissed him softly. There was passion between them no matter the tempo.

"Three kids died today." Punk said, lying in bed later on, sitting against the headboard whilst AJ lay into him.

"What?" She looked up at him.

"There was a house fire. The mom lived and the kids didn't. Well… she's in hospital but still." He shook his head, "Imagine losing your kids like that."

"Oh my God." AJ sighed, "It must have been really bad."

"Oh the whole place was in flames." Punk nodded to himself, "And for some reason, no matter how long I've done this job, you still always sit there on the ride home in the truck, and think about what you could have done different, what you could have done to save them." He shook his head.

"You can't do that to yourself." AJ sat up, looking across at him.

"I know… it'll pass. It's just tough for a little while." He nodded, "I never normally have anyone to talk about it with." He admitted.

"You did everything you could. I know you did. You put your life at risk to save others, you can't ask for more than that." AJ said.

"It's just the damn kids that get to me." He nodded, "Having to take their bodies out of the house and…" He groaned as AJ sighed, "I guess it's only really a great job when you get to save everyone."

"Yeah, I know the feeling." AJ assured him, hugging into him as he wrapped his arm around her. She wanted to comfort him. Be there for him and assure him things would be ok. It was just instinct. Her feelings kicking in for him, strong feelings which only made her want to protect him.

"Someone is always having a worse day than you." Punk nodded, "The job really proves that."

"But think about all the people whose day you made because you saved them." AJ said, "There's a balance to it, I think with our jobs it can be hard to praise ourselves. We like to just emphasise on the bad days, losing people and how much it sucks. But there's good ones too."

"Yeah, there is." Punk nodded, kissing her head as she hugged into him tightly. Having each other to ease the stress of their lives was something they were both getting very used to, and appreciating a whole lot.
