Wedding Part Two

"You can't be here." AJ looked up at him.

"Why?" He asked her.

"You know why." She shook her head, "Please… you need to go." She nodded.

"I will." He nodded, "I just… I wanted to wish you good luck."

"No you don't." AJ shook her head.

"I do." He said, "I hope that this day is everything you planned it to be and I hope you have a happy marriage with him." He nodded.

"Why did you come here?" She sighed, "Please, you can't do this to me today." She shook her head, placing her hand on her forehead.

"Do what?" He laughed a little, "I'm not doing anything." He smiled as she looked up at him. She truly believed that with time, her feelings had to have disappeared for him somehow, but yet… here they were, never being more apparent than now as she looked up at him, only wishing this was wedding dress was for him.

"I can't think about you when I'm supposed to be getting married." AJ shook her head, "If you really wished me well you would have… stayed away." She whispered.

"Here I was thinking you had moved on." Punk looked at her.

"I have." She insisted, "But nobody wants to see their ex on their wedding day."

"Ex?" He smiled a little, "You know I don't actually remember asking you to be my girlfriend at any point." He teased as she smiled, not being able to help it. She was in awe that he was here, watching her preparing to vow to spend her life with another man. She wondered if he had possibly moved on from her after all. Maybe that was why it was easy for him.

"Have you moved on?" AJ nodded, "You've moved on." She stated.

"What do you think?" He asked her.

"Tell me you have, just to make this easier." She nodded as he smiled a little.

"Ok." He nodded along, "I've moved on." He lied.

"Oh… see, I know you're lying." She groaned a little, holding her stomach, feeling a little nauseous.

"I'm not lying." He grinned as she shook her head.

"Phil, you have to go." AJ shook her head, "Please." She nodded.

"I will." He assured her.

Him showing up today was just everything she didn't need, because it had completely turned everything upside down. She'd spent these past six months working hard at not planning her wedding, but trying to forget him, and seeing him today, it all went out the window.

"I'm marrying Jason." AJ nodded to him.

"I know." He said. He'd had time to accept that. He knew she was a stubborn person, and when she said she was going to do something, she most likely always did it. He'd prepared for her to go through with this, but he couldn't without saying one last final thing to her.

"So why are you here?" She whispered.

"I really just came to wish you good luck." He nodded, "And I… I hope he makes you happy. I really do." He said sincerely. He could put his pettiness to the side and just hope for happiness for the woman he loved, "And I'm not mad at you. I'm not mad that… I got to fall in love with you." He shook his head as AJ looked up at him with glassy eyes, "Cause it was pretty amazing."

"Please stop." She whispered.

"I actually don't think I've felt more in love with you than what I do right now." He nodded, "You look like birds helped you get ready this morning." He smiled as she chuckled, not being able to help it. She missed that.

"Maybe they did." She nodded as he smiled.

"You look beautiful." He nodded.

"Thank you." She whispered, "But I don't want this to hurt you." She shook her head.

"It does." He said, "But… I really just want you to be happy. I can forget about me. I guess that's what love is about, right? Wanting the best for that person you love. And if this is what you want, then all I hope is that you find happiness with it." He nodded.

"Thank you." She said quietly.

"Ok. I think this thing is supposed to go back over your face." He nodded, taking a hold of her veil, pausing for a second as she looked up at him.

She watched as he leaned down, pressing a kiss on her cheek as she gasped a little at the content. She knew she just had to be insane to go through with this when these feelings seemed to only get stronger.

Punk left the kiss on her cheek, taking hold of her veil and pulling it back over her face gently. She was glad of it as it meant he didn't see the tears rolling down her cheeks.

She watched as he walked out of the room, closing the door behind him as she took a deep breath, placing her hand on the back of the couch, feeling like she couldn't breathe properly.

She had to sit down on the chair, pulling her veil back and grabbing a bottle of water from the table, opening it up and chugging it. She couldn't imagine the unbelievable pain he had to be in to see her like this, and to know she was giving her all to someone else. It was a true test of his character to come here and wish her well, and she'd never been more in love with him than she was right now.

"Ok, I think everything is ready." Jeanette walked back into the room as AJ quickly fixed her face, glad to have mostly waterproof make-up on for the day, "Are you ready?" She looked over to AJ who quickly pulled her veil over her face to avoid her mother noticing her star struck face.

"Y-Yeah… yeah, I'm ready." AJ nodded, standing up from the chair, her legs feeling like jelly. She figured this really wasn't how you were supposed to feel before your wedding day…

Nevertheless, she made it to outside the room where the ceremony was taking place. She knew there was friends and family all sitting beyond the doors and she was just terrified. When she woke up she felt ready to conquer, but ever since she'd saw Punk, everything just felt like it was destined to fall apart.

She had no one to walk her down the aisle, but that was what she wanted. She had uncles but she wasn't in need of anyone to get her down the aisle. She really just had to focus on getting herself down there.

She paced a little on the spot behind the doors, telling herself everything would be fine, getting a nod from the officiant and realising she had to tell her legs to start walking.

She began walking down the aisle, slow and steady like she'd practised at the rehearsal, taking notice of everyone looking at her, noticing Renee and Dean who gave her a smile. She didn't feel like the blushing bride she wanted to. She didn't feel anything actually. Having everyone look at her with admiration and aw just wasn't even registering. She hadn't even taken notice of her husband to be at the top of the aisle yet.

Despite it feeling like years, she eventually made it to the top of the aisle where Jason was standing, smiling to her as she turned in to face him.

She watched as he lifted her veil from her face. And there it was. Not a single shiver.

"You look beautiful." He smiled as she looked up at him, gulping nervously.

"She looks miserable." Dean whispered to Renee who nodded.

"He said he was going to come." Renee said, turning around to the entrance, expecting Punk to have joined them.

"You really think he wants to sit here and watch her get married?" Dean whispered to her, "He'll be off trying to gauge his eyeballs out."

"He said he was gonna come and sit with us." Renee nodded to him, "She looks nauseous." She looked on at her friend who stood with her fiancé.

"She can't go back now." Dean scoffed, "That's it. Signed, sealed, delivered." Dean nodded.

"Hey… it's not over until someone says I do." Renee reminded him quietly.

"Please, like she's gonna back out now." Dean shook his head, "I hope Phil doesn't come, for his own sake." He nodded, "He doesn't need to watch this."

"You ready?" Jason smiled, looking on at AJ who looked up at him, feeling like she couldn't even talk, "April?" He laughed a little.

"Yeah." AJ nodded quickly, "Yeah." She repeated as he smiled.

"Ok." Jason nodded as the officiant began the ceremony, welcoming everyone in on this day to celebrate the union of them both. He continued with what he had to say before getting to the vows. She remembered she agreed to go first and she so regretted it.

"You've prepared your own vows, yes?" The officiant nodded, noticing none of them were saying anything.

"Yeah." Jason nodded, looking on at AJ, "April." He said as she looked up at him.

"Right." AJ nodded, taking the ring to put on his finger, holding it in her hand as she suddenly saw someone in the corner of her eye, turning around and watching as Punk walked in through the doors.

She watched as he kept his head down, making his way over to a seat beside Dean and Renee, sitting down and eventually looking up as she looked over at him. She realised the only time she wanted to be saying vows was not when he was sitting in the audience.

"I can't." AJ realised, looking up at Jason who looked at her, "I… I can't do this." She whispered, sitting the ring back down.

"What?" Jason laughed a little.

"I'm sorry." AJ shook her head quietly.

"What are you doing?" Jason said worriedly. Not for a second did he think she was going to do something like this, in front of everyone.

"What is she doing?" Dean whispered to Renee whilst Punk looked over.

He realised this was definitely a form of torture to put himself through, to sit and watch the woman he loved get married, but it appeared nothing was progressing past the vows, and they were too far away to hear what was going on.

"I can't do this." AJ shook her head, "I can't marry you." She looked up at him.

"April." Jason shook his head, "What the hell are you talking about?"

"I'm sorry." AJ stepped back a little.

"April." Jeanette gritted her teeth from the front row.

"Sorry." AJ mumbled, walking back down the aisle, holding her dress up so she didn't trip and further embarrass herself.

Punk watched in disbelief as she left the room in a hurry, leaving everyone in confusion as he turned to Renee who had the smallest smile on her face.

"Did she say I do?" Dean asked, not knowing what the hell was going on.

"No." Punk shook his head, "She didn't." He said, standing back up from the seat, running out of the ceremony and down the corridor.

He ran down towards the hotel rooms, opening up AJ's and walking inside, noticing the bathroom door was closed.

"AJ." He said, knocking on the bathroom door, walking in as she sat on the closed toilet seat, tears streaming down her face, "Hey." He walked over to her, crouching down in front of her as she sobbed.

"I can't do it." She shook her head, "I can't." She cried as he nodded, leaning his forehead against hers, placing is hand by her neck, "I love you." She cried. For the first time in six months, she felt like she could breathe again, even if it was through reckless sobbing.

"I know." He nodded, pressing his lips against hers as she cupped his cheeks, pulling back from the kiss and leaning her forehead against his again.
