Bea and Oscar 6

Oscar could still smell Bea's perfume on him and could still feel her lips on his. He couldn't help the smile that graced his face at the thought of how he and Bea left things this morning. That same floral scent lingering on his shirt, up and inside his nostrils. Her kisses were on his mind too. He found himself unable to think of little else except the feeling of her lips on his. Her feminine body wanting to be closer than close to his. The feeling of the two of them rutting against each other through their clothes as they moaned into each other's mouths.

He went through the motions of getting ready for his media interviews with Raf at the hotel. His mind certainly wasn't on Raf, the media interviews or the task of getting his talking points in order. His mind was solely on Bea and the kisses they'd shared, the feel of her in his arms and he couldn't believe that she had been the one to jump into his arms and not the other way around. His mind felt foggy, and his stomach was a kaleidoscope of butterflies. He couldn't decide what was making him more nervous; the interview or the anticipation of seeing Bea soon.

Texting Raf an apology that he was running late, was met with a selfie of the man, wearing a crisp blue suit and huge shit-eating grin. He had captioned the selfie, 'We will talk about this later.' - Of that, Oscar had no doubt. Raf wasn't the kind of friend that would let Oscar get away with it. Especially since Raf had been there for almost everything that transpired between he and Bea this weekend.

Oscar wasn't the kind of gentleman to go blabbing about his bedroom antics to his friends, and he never had been. Sure, if Oscar was ever ribbed or goaded by Raf for details, Oscar would confirm or deny accusations. But he never went into details.

When he arrived in the private sitting room that he and Raf had booked out for the media interviews, the reporter from Channel 4 was just finishing setting themselves up. "Nice of you to join us this morning, Senator Diaz." Raf quipped, in his usual cheeky, somewhat flirtatious banter.

"Apologies, I overslept." Oscar said pointedly, looking directly at Raf. Both men knew it was a lie, but the reporter Caroline Tanner didn't need to know it was a lie. He greeted Caroline, cordially. Caroline Tanner was the political reporter for channel four. She had interviews both men, countless time. Both individually and together. Raf and Caroline go back a long way and having her interview them was always good fun. Neither of them ever let their friendship get in the way of their jobs. Not that Raf would ever fully trust Caroline. She was media and after everything that Alex and Henry had been through in the press and the dramas with Richards, she would never have his trust.

"Morning, Gentlemen." She greeted them, her blonde hair was swept up in a twist, keeping the long blonde locks off her neck. She was the same age as Raf, a whole seven years younger than Oscar. She had always had a flirtatious banter with Oscar. She had tried to use her feminine wiles on him, and he had always politely let her down. He could never be interested in anyone who was with the press. Surprisingly, it didn't help her cause that she was too similar in looks to his ex-wife. "Shall we begin?"

Bea was relieved to finally be back at the hotel. It had been an excruciatingly long day, and it was only mid-afternoon. Looking at her cell phone, she was surprised to see some missed calls from people back home. She had three missed calls from Philip, one from her grandmother's equerry, two from her mother's equerry, four from her mother and a combined total of fifteen from Alex and Henry.

Before she could decide where to start, her cell lit up with an incoming call from Oscar. Quickly pressing answer, she smiled into the phone. "Hello, you." She greeted him. They'd exchange a few flirty text messages while she was on the tarmac waiting to take off, and she had sent the customary text, telling him she had landed safely.

"CariƱa. Thank goodness, I've caught you. Have you seen the news?" Oscar immediately asked. He sounded strangled. Not his usual self. She hadn't seen the news and wondered what it was saying.

"No, I've just got up to my room." She denied and had been happy when her phone had pinged with a link from Oscar for the breaking news story. Quickly clicking the link, the story depicted grainy images of the altercation between herself and Darren from Friday night, as well as images of Oscar intervening and the two of them holding hands, when Oscar had led her away. "Oh my ... "

Bea hadn't realised that her argument with Darren had been that loud. Loud enough that the mystery source whom the gossip column writer had quoted as a source, had quoted their argument verbatim.

"Are you ok?" Oscar asked, after a short silence between them. "I mean, yeah your phone is probably blowing up. I have been with henry and Alex when a news story about them breaks, and you royals do love to blow each other's phones up. Especially that brother of yours, and he rarely says anything nice to Henry. I imagine he isn't much different with you."

"I ... Yours is the first call I have taken." She admitted softly, and hearing the hitch in his breathing made her want to grab her belongings and catch the first plane back to Denver. Back into Oscar's loving arms. "Hen and Alex have called lots, plus mum, Pip and Gran."

Oscar had no doubt that plenty of the palace 'staffers' had also called too. "Is there anything I can do?" Oscar asked. The press pissed him off and comments surrounding the news story about Darren and Bea's break up had been mostly positive. No one had made the leap of any hint of anything between them. "I know the palace doesn't usually make statements, but if you want me to, I can."

"Thank you, Oscar. That's very kind of you." Bea's voice was soft and sugary down the phone line and hearing Oscar's made Bea miss him. "Let me see what's happening across the pond. Can I call you tonight?"

"You can call me any time you like, Bella." Oscar cooed softly. He couldn't help but smile at the thought of Bea.

"I shall telephone you back this evening. Perhaps, when you're alone and we can chat more." Bea smiled once more and disconnected the phone call.

After Oscar's call, she called Henry back next, hoping she'd catch Alex too. Which luck had been on her side. Both of them hadn't given a shit about the photo of her and Oscar's interlaced fingers. Both of them had been more concerned with her. Whether or not she was ok. Alex in particular was worried about whether or not Darren had physically hurt her, which she reassured him he hadn't. She pointedly did not tell either of them that she had been fearing he would and had been so relieved when Oscar had materialized beside her.

While she had been talking to Alex and Henry, she had received text messages from Nora, Pez and June. She replied to those, while she called her mother back. Thankfully, Catherine had only been concerned about her and her safety. she relayed the conversation verbatim between her brother, her grandmother and herself where she had defended Bea and blamed the situation on the queen's taut purse strings, claiming that Bea's PPO was drastically overworked and underpaid while on the American tour with her daughter. Catherine then further had thanked the heavens up above, as well as her deceased husband, for Oscar's intervention. Catherine had let it slip that Philip and her mother had wanted Bea to return to the UK immediately, but it had been Henry and Alex who had taken on that battle for her and fought to let her remain on her tour. That they had won by appealing to the philanthropic nature of the Queen and that if she were to return, the bad press that would come with it.

Henry and Alex's gesture overwhelmed her. She loved those boys; knowing they always had her back. "Oscar has offered to make a statement, simply saying that it was a coincidence we were there at the same time and when he noticed Darren becoming increasingly aggressive, he simply stepped in." She told her mother.

"Oh, my darling girl, he doesn't have to say anything at all." Catherine told her. "I imagine he is sick of the press in regard to his own family. He shouldn't have to take on the press for our family too."

"He offered." Bea said softly. "As did Alex." Bea knew the weight of Alex's offer. The fact that Alex was willingly offering himself up, to front the press on her behalf spoke to the lengths of his love for Bea, as a friend and sister and his love for Henry. In the wake of the leak and the email scandal, the election and the Brownstone saga, Alex had been skittish and had experience his fair share of 'bad press' to the point where Alex now actively avoided the press if he could.

"I'll leave that in your hands." Catherine conceded softly. "Maybe, keep Alex away from it. He has come so far; I would hate to see him undo all of his hard work."

"I love Alex too much to let him near the press." Bea chuckled. "Besides, if we did Hen would kill us both. I could tell he was angry at Alex for offering."

"Those boys." She said knowingly, with love and affection in her voice. "Don't bother calling Philip or your grandmother back, I am about to head over to Buck House, I will fill them in."

By the time Bea fell into her bed with a sigh, it was late. Erica and Alicia, her bandmates had coxed her into joining them for room service. Both of them worried about how she was holding up. They hadn't known about what had transpired between Darren and Bea, both feeling really shitty for not noticing sooner. Bea confessed to them that Oscar was Alex's father, that was how they knew one another. When Erica had begged off with the excuse of meeting some friends, Alicia scrutinised her closely. Alicia and Bea were close and for a brief stint, Alicia was her sponsor.

"Are you sure that you're, ok?" She asked and smiled when she saw Bea nod that was, enthusiastically. "Now that we've settled that, can we talk about the sexual tension between you and Oscar Diaz because I thought the two of you were going to set that room on fire the other night."

"Nope." Bea shook her head firmly. "Oscar is a dear friend, that's it."

"You don't fool me for a minute, Fox." Alicia said cooly, before taking another glance at her friend. "But I will let it slide because as you said, he is Alex's dad. But if you need someone to talk to who won't judge me, I'm here for you."

"Thanks Alicia."

After Alicia had left in laughter, claiming she had a date with the bathtub and a bar of chocolate, Bea let out a large sigh of relief before calling Oscar back. He couldn't talk at that moment, having just gotten into a cab to take him back to his apartment in DC.

When he finally called her back, it was almost midnight and both of them were exhausted. The spoke briefly about the news story and between them, Oscar drafted a small press release, rather than him front the cameras himself. He'd have his assistant run through it in the morning, just as a third set of eyes before having her send it out.

In the morning, Bea woke to a message on her phone from Oscar. It was two photos of official press release from his office and Raf's. It bore the insignia of US congress, the Texas flag and the Colorado state flag respectively, as well as their names and contact details.

TO: All Media Outlets

CC: Sen. Rafael Luna

CC: Ethan Worthington III

I was at the restaurant Ruin on Friday May 5th in Denver, Colorado, alongside Ethan Worthington III and fellow Senator Rafael Luna, celebrating the latter's birthday in a small dinner.

An altercation between a couple across the room captured my attention. As the altercation escalated, I, alongside Mr. Worthington III and Senator Luna stepped in to intervene on behalf of the woman. We removed her from the situation and allowed her to regain her composure in a relaxing manner.

Her Royal Highness, Princess Beatrice Fox-Mountchristen Windsor was eternally grateful for our intervention. As you all may be aware, Princess Beatrice is the older sister of His Royal highness, Prince Henry Fox-Mountchristen Windsor, my son's partner. I am well acquainted with the princess through her brother and was happy to intervene on her behalf.

Just as I would have been happy to intervene on behalf of a stranger, man or woman, who needed help from an altercation.

I will not deny that I did indeed take the princess by the hand, as I maneuvered her away from the altercation. I do not apologize for my actions. I assessed the situation at hand and followed up accordingly. As to the nature and subject of the altercation, I will not speak of. It is simply no one else's business but their own.

No form of violence can ever be excused in a society that wishes to call itself decent.

No further queries will be answered.

With thanks, Senator Oscar Diaz, state of Texas.

Thank you, messages are sent from Bea to Oscar and to Raf. This was much more than the Royal family were willing to do, and she was appreciative. She was just nodding off when her phone buzzed again with a text from Raf.

-Will FedEx you this first thing in the AM. It's signed and sealed. Ethan can't say anything. Stop worrying and get some sleep Princessa x - the text message read, and Bea squinted to look at what the photo Raf had sent her was.

NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT was printed at the top of the page in big bold black letters, the words staring back at her. In the blank, underlined space was her name, written in black handwriting staring back at her and the bottom of the page was Ethan's signature.

Raf and Oscar had thought of everything.
