And here we are boys and girls, another chapter done and dusted. This will be the conclusion to his duel with Dark Mgician Girl, the results and meeting up with Alexis. I actually wanted to make this a bit longer. But hay fever and shit are kicking in and I ended it earlier so I could go take some anti-histamines and put a cold compress over my eyes.

Oh well, I need to watch some more things anyway in regards to this story.

"So, did that tell you what you needed to know?" Yarden asked, making his way over to the kneeling spirit, his duel disk compressing back into its gauntlet form and the solid vision appearance of Hyozanryu disappearing, "Am..I good enough?" he asked.

Even if she said she would join if he beat her. If she saw something she didn't like about him, there really was nothing he could to to stop her from just leaving, save attacking her with his spirits.

And he didn't want to do that, nor was he going to even if she did decide not to join up with him.

"Yep, I saw what I needed to," she looked up at him with that blinding smile of hers still on her face, "I thought Serpent Night Dragon was embellishing how good you are. But you really are that good, you even managed to beat my deck and it's made up of extra cards from Yugi's deck, like my cute little juniors that haven't even been released to the public yet and only he and Mr. Pegasus have copies of."

So that was why he'd never heard of these support magician girls. Or that Invoked Aleister thing. They were cards, an archetype more or less made specifically for Yugi Moto. Which made sense, since it was well known Yugi was basically the only dude to have Dark Magician Girl.

And that clarified something else for him.

"So you are the Dark Magician girl that served Yugi and the one that was the Ba of Mana." Yarden mused with interest.

"My, you really do know a lot," Dark Magician Girl hummed, "And yes, that's me. But I didn't serve Yugi, I served the pharaoh in place of my old master Mana. Once their journey together was complete, I moved on."

That did explain a lot. "So, have you decided on if you'll join me or not?" Yarden asked, getting straight to the point.

"Just about, honestly, I'm mostly leaning towards it," the blonde duel spirit replied as she stood up, her olden age golden dueling disk glowing and shifting back into her scepter, "I just want to know first."

He raised an eyebrow at her, "Know what?" he asked.

"What do you plan to do with all the spirits you're gathering?" Dark Magician girl questioned.

"A good question," Yarden nodded. To be perfectly honest though; "I don't have any real concrete plans. Like the benefits are amazing, and from what I know, getting power from monsters spirits can basically give me eternal youth." that was what Kagemaru's big plan was after all. Use the Sacred Beasts to drain the power of duel spirits into himself.

"...It would be a stretch with one spirit, but with many, that is well within possibility." she confirmed.

"Good to know," he grinned and then shrugged, "But yeah, beyond that and getting strong enough to live the life I want and stopping the world ending, I've not got any specific plans. Like yeah, I'll be using your guys help to go after a few more things like a few others spirits I know of, but that's really all that comes to mind."

"You know for such a shamelessly greedy person, you're desires aren't all that massive," Dark Magician Girl giggled, before bowing to him lightly, "Alright, I'll join you and become your Ba master."

Yarden swallowed heavily as a deep well of bodacious creamy cleavage was revealed to him down her leotard. "Even.." he licked his lips, "Even though I don't plan on dying?" with the confirmation of the eternal youth being a proper prospect for him, and with all the benefits that came from bonding with spirits as his Ba, it meant that very few things would be capable of killing him, so he'd be effectively immortal.

A Ba could only be released, upon the death of the master. Not including using bullshit powerful items like the Millennium items to forcible separate the two.

That meant, she would be stuck with him forever.

She looked up and caught where his eyes were staring, "So you do have a little crush on me, how cute master," she winked, and her smile not lessening at all, "And I don't see why not. It's not a deal breaker or anything, I would have stayed with Mana forever if she continued living. My second master did not take me as a Ba, and left me behind when he returned to the after life. I've confirmed what I need to know, and you fit what I want in a master, so when you're strong enough, I will gladly become your Ba!" she beamed and leaned over to press a small kiss against his cheek, making his skin tingle.

A massive smile of his own spread across his face, "Really?" his eyes were practically sparkling, "That's amazing!"

Dark Magician Girl gave him a thumbs up as she pulled back, "Let's work well together master!" she chirped perkily and then held her hand up. Golden light blinked into existence, then fell apart to reveal a deck of cards, "And these will hopefully serve you well, the deck you just dueled against."

Eh!

Yarden gave her a shocked stare, even as he accepted the cards from her. "Though, it needs one more thing to complete it!" the blonde added, giving him one more wink that produced an illusion of a pink heart and then her body erupted into golden light and shrunk down, floating towards his hand. She shrunk down into a small rectangular shape and then slotted in to the front of the deck, and when the light died down, it was to show a Dark Magician Girl card staring back at him.

'Holy shit.' Yarden was pretty much dazed as he began looking through the deck. The first three cards being, three copies of Dark Magician Girl! And there was a bunch of magician girls in there beyond the two he saw, multiple copies of each. Three Magician's Valkyria, a bunch of Dark Magician support cards.

And there were two different extra deck monsters. One, the Dark Magician Girl The Dragon Knight. Another though he'd never seen before, also a dragon.

Invoked Cocytus. It needed to be fusion summoned using the Aleister The Invoker and a water attribute monster. And it was a pretty cool monster to.

A level six with eighteen hundred attack points and twenty nine hundred defense points, with a really awesome effect.

'Cannot be destroyed by your opponent's card effects. Your opponent cannot target this card with card effects. This card can attack while in face-up Defense Position. If it does, apply its ATK for damage calculation.'

Which meant this thing was pretty much un-killable unless attacked with something with over twenty-nine hundred attack points. And would be a real monster with stuff like D2 Shield.

'I think there's actually a few more fusion cards like this one, but Yugi hadn't gotten them yet when I left him.' Dark Magician Girl spoke in his head.

That was interesting to know. He'd need to be on the lookout for those.

Still, he couldn't wipe the massive shit eating grin off of his face if he tried. He'd only wanted Dark Magician Girl, but he'd got a massive massive add on with this deck as well?

It was like winning the lottery, only to told you got entered into the running for another one because you won and win that one too!

'Well, you sure seem happy,' she giggled, 'And well, we're gonna need all the help we can get if we're dealing with stuff that you think makes Zorc look weak.'

...Ah, yeah. He frowned at the thought. The Light Of Destruction and such made Zorc look toothless in comparison. And that guy had needed Horahkty to smite his ass, and even punched out Exodia. Admittedly, a very weakened Exodia limited by his summoner, but it was still motherfucking Exodia.

'Well, as interesting as this all is Yarden, I feel the need to remind you, that before all this happened, you were heading to visit your friend in the infirmary were you not?' Petit Dragon cut in with a sigh.

Yarden's eyes widened and he put that out of thought. He had been on his way actually! He quickly stuffed the cards in his pocket and zipped it securely, before rushing his way to his destination.

'Yay, let's go see Master's girlfriend!' Dark Magician Girl cheered him on.

Back up against the headboard as she rested atop an infirmary bed, Alexis' eyes were narrowed into a glare at the wall opposite of her.

Tonight could have ended a lot worse. She should just be happy she got off with some minor injuries and didn't lose her deck.

But she wasn't happy. Not at all.

Alexis was pissed off.

At herself.

Doctor Crowler had popped in not long ago. He had informed her that because of her frequent visits to the Abandoned Dorm, what she got up to was called into question. The Chairman of the security forces was calling for her expulsion.

But, Doctor Crowler had himself had managed to wear her down and give her the chance to duel for her spot here. If she won, she would be allowed to stay. The problem was, who she was set up to duel. The legendary Paradox brothers, duelists active since Duelist Kingdom itself and a duo that had won multiple pro tag team leagues. And she would have had to duel them two on one if she couldn't find a partner. And very few people would be willing to do so, considering if they aided her, the Chairman was considering them as aiding and abetting her.

How they could just call on the Paradox brothers at the drop of a hat was beyond Alexis, but it wasn't worth focusing on.

She would have had real trouble finding a partner, if Yarden hadn't apparently volunteered right there on the spot to be her tag team partner.

The sense of relief she'd felt at those words when Crowler revealed it to her, made her even angrier.

'How pathetic!' the blonde mentally derided herself. Not only had she ended up a damsel in distress and in her panic call Yarden to come save her, now her foolishness was possibly going to end up getting Yarden expelled as well!

Her mind drifted back to last week, when Yarden had compared her to her monsters. Beautiful, graceful, strong and proud.

She was nothing like that tonight. 'I have to do better.' she ground her teeth.

Well, if she even got the chance to stay. She didn't doubt Yarden could hold his own against a pro, he managed to defeat Zane after all and since then he'd created an entirely new and powerful deck using the abandoned cards he'd piked up on the first day and a bunch of others he'd spent a ludicrous amount of DP on.

No way she could though. She was good, Alexis knew she was. She was definitely within the top five of her year, the only ones she could safely say that were her superior in the first years was Yarden and Jaden, and there wasn't even really any second years that stood out either.

Alexis would even go as far to say, that she was within the top ten best duelists on the island currently.

But she was still only a first year at Duel Academy. She wasn't ready yet to take on tag team pro's that were known to have once almost brought down the tag team of the King of Games himself Yugi Moto and the number three ranked duelist in the entire world, Joey Wheeler.

sliding open. She looked over and found the one entering the room was Yarden, a wide smile on his face.

It looked like the fact they would be dueling the Paradox Brothers didn't worry him at all. But then again, he hadn't been worked up at all at even dueling Zane.

She wished she had the kin of strength that could inspire that much confidence in yourself.

"Sorry I'm late," he apologized, making his way over to collapse into the seat beside her infirmary bed, "Something popped up that held me up for a bit."

"Must have been something good, considering the smile on your face." Alexis pointed out.

"Oh, it was. Something that I've been waiting for, for a while to add to my deck finally came," Yarden replied, before leaning forward to look her closely in the face, "Kinda the opposite of you sunshine, what's up with you? Your face is tripping you."

Blunt as ever, huh?

"I'm annoyed, angry even," Alexis admitted with a sigh, "At myself for being so useless tonight and getting you caught up in all this."

"Well, I can't help much here and now about what you can and can't do," Yarden mused, before shooting a smile at her, "But as far as dragging me in to this. I don't mind. Actually, I'm flattered that I'm the first one you called when you were in trouble."

"..Really?" Alexis asked, taken aback. The choice was between two people that she could have called then and there. Zane, or Yarden. Her thoughts had locked onto Yarden though, because, as far as physical confrontations went, she thought Yarden was the toughest guy she knew, "I basically just called you out to fight a huge guy off for me though, and did you see the size of that guy? He was monstrously big, you could have gotten really hurt."

"Nah, all that bulk is a big help for most, but when you can't fight for shit like that guy, there was no way it was helping him against me," Yarden just snorted, and then grinned, "We're friends right? It means a lot that you trust me enough to rely on me when things end up like that."

Huh. So he had a side to him like this as well? She was learning a whole lot of interesting things about Yarden lately.

"We are friends," Alexis found his grin infectious. She'd thought them decent friends for a little while now, but she hadn't realized he thought that way about her beyond the flirting and joking. "Is that why you volunteered on the spot to be my tag partner even though there's a good chance we'll lose?"

"Pfft!" Yarden actually snorted, then gave her a disbelieving look, "You're kidding right? I'm pretty sure I could take the Paradox brothers on my own. With you and me together? They'll be lucky to last two turns against us."

"Where do you get that confidence from I wonder?" Alexis asked, yet she couldn't wipe the grin from her own face, or the light heat she felt in her cheeks at his praise, "The Paradox brothers have won multiple regional tag team pro leagues. They're the two times Japanese champions and one time American champions."

There was a saying about that the Paradox brothers were a tag team right from the womb. Because of their nature as twins that did everything together, there was none that could match up to them in team compatibility

"Cuz' individually, we're just that good," Yarden replied without missing a beat, "Together, I bet even Yugi and Kaiba would be hard pressed to win."

"And what about compatibility? Tag dueling is more than just two people teaming up, it's about synergy between the two players to make them both better, instead of dragging the other down." Alexis shook her head, trying to be realistic, even though she felt her heart thud in her chest at his impression of her skills.

"We're plenty compatible I think," Yaden replied, leaning back in his chair with a shrug, "I wouldn't be aiming to date you if I didn't think we were."

His blunt honesty on that matter was much appreciated.

"I thought that was just because you find me that attractive." she mused.

Yarden scoffed, "While that's a big part of it, don't go getting things mixed up," he replied, "If it was just about how absurdly gorgeous you are, I'd just want to bed you, not date you."

A line drawn quite firmly between the two huh? And he seemed to think quite highly of her, beyond her looks. It was flattering.

"Are you saying you're in love with me?" Alexis inquired, curious. Were his feelings that deep?

"Nope," he shrugged, "It's way too soon for this to be love or anything like that, love really isn't something that can properly develop. But I am really fond of you, and the more time we spend together, the more fond of you I become."

Is that so? He was surprisingly mature about this kind of thing. But, she couldn't say that she didn't feel the same to a degree. It wasn't like she was asexual or anything, she was just totally focused on the dueling she loved, her passion in life. Yarden was good looking, easy on the eyes. And she was fond of him to. She liked his blunt, honest nature, she liked that he rarely took true offense to things said out of turn and how easy going he was. She admired his skill and strength as a duelist and his amazing breadth of knowledge when it came to card and dueling techniques. And of course, she wouldn't have called him tonight in her panic ridden state, if she didn't find him reliable.

"Yet you've still not taken me on that date that's still on the table." Alexis teased him.

Yarden chuckled, "I haven't really felt the need to use it," he replied, "We've been spending pretty much every day together lately, and it wouldn't really change up much what we're doing. You're not the type of girl that would want me to take her to a restaurant and spout flowery flattering crap."

"Definitely not." she agreed. That was the kind of thing that made her pretty much swear off of romance. She hated it when guys constantly approached her and tried to win her favor by spouting stuff like that.

That was so not her thing. Especially when they clearly didn't mean what they said and could barely pull their eyes from her chest

"Exactly," Yarden let out a huff of amusement, "Here, we can have a little date you'll actually enjoy. A little deck tuning date." he reached over to the table on wheels at the edge of her infirmary bed and swung it around between them, propping open the gauntlet duel disk he'd taken from that huge oaf that attacked her and taking out his deck to place on it.

He grinned at her and wiggled his eyebrows suggestively, "Right, I've shown you mine, so you show me yours," Yarden mock flirted, "Let's see what kind of 'positions' we can do together."

Alexis couldn't help the giggle that erupted from her lips. Yarden really did know her well. "Alright, but don't be upset if I'm too much woman for you to handle." the honey blonde replied, reaching down to grab her deck.

It was as she did that, Alexis noticed. The anger, shame and tension that had filled her up, had drained out of her without her even noticing.

And there we go, chapter ended.

Even for a short chapter, it got a few decent things done. Yarden has got all the cards Dark Magician Girl used against him. And now he has another extra deck that he can use some of the cards of in his main deck as well. I admit, I find Dark Magician Girl's character a bit hard to get down, I hope I didn't make her crappy.

Next up, Alexis was pissed off. Alexis doesn't want to be a damsel in distress, she absolutely disgusts the thought of being so. So she's beating herself up about it, and beating herself up even more that she can't help but basically feel safe thanks to Yarden with that happened, and happy that he didn't even pause more or less when it came to teaming up with her.

Alexis, like Dark Magician Girl, is a pretty hard character to narrow all the traits down of and write well. It's sad it's so difficult, because Alexis has always been my favorite Yugioh girl. Hopefully, the more I write her, the easier it will be to get her character down writing wise.
