Wanted to finish this last night, but I totally blanked out on the last scene. Thankfully, the streak was saved by the card edits chapter, so the streak continues!

The bald man's eyes narrowed a split moment later, "How do you know of that?" he demanded.

"I know a lot of things," Yarden smirked, "Though, if you're wondering if I went into the Abandoned Dorm or not and found out that way, then the answer is no. I didn't need to go in myself."

Technically, true. He had never entered the Abandoned Dorm, physically, and he'd never needed to. Actually, he bet he knew a lot more of went on there than pretty much anybody else, even those who take part in it, or those who were behind it in the first place.

Sheppard stared hard at Yarden, searching him for answers. His already narrowed gaze tightened and he pursed his lips, "Those spirits of yours." he bit out.

Nope. But as good an excuse as anyway,

"Sure, let's go with that." Yarden shrugged.

The chancellor's gaze softened and he slumped back into his seat wit a sigh, "It's not as simple as letting Miss Rhodes know," he admitted, reaching up to rub at his temples, "She is a willful girl. I believe if she were to be told, she would look into the darkness herself in an effort to find her brother and become a victim herself."

Well, it wouldn't be quite that simple, but, he wasn't wrong at least, "She definitely would try at least," Yarden nodded in agreement, "It doesn't change the fact she deserves to know what happened to her brother because of the fault of this school. Did Kaiba sign off on that little experiment, I wonder?"

On one hand, Kaiba initially couldn't stomach magic and that crap at all initially. But he was also the guy that wanted to teach alien's how to play a card game and ended up developing a literal whole new species of duel spirits and alien race at the same time.

"Mr. Kaiba left it to our discretion," Sheppard grudgingly replied, "You must understand Yarden, Duel Academy is no mere school, it wasn't built simply to nourish the growth of the next generation of great duelists alone." he implored the boy to understand.

Yarden leaned on the desk and his lips curving up, "Oh I know," he admitted with a smirk. Sheppard had given him a perfect in, "It was to raise up seven duelists specifically, with the strength to protect the Spirit Keys."

For the second time in just a few minutes, Chancellor Sheppard's eyes flew wide open with shock.

"Spirits have been on this island a long time and it's so very easy for them to get through physical barriers or listen in on people without them knowing." Yarden teasingly added.

Sheppard took a moment to regain his composure and closed his eyes, "So you know of that too." he mused in defeat.

"Like I said, I know a lot of things." the teen shrugged in a blase fashion. Thanks to the man focusing on the spirits as an excuse, he could roll with it and get more out of this situation.

"Why bring this up?" Sheppard asked, opening his eyes to pin the boy with a serious stare, "Are you perhaps trying to blackmail me with the knowledge of the Sacred Beasts and making me tell Miss Rhodes what happened to her brother?"

That was an idea. But one he quickly discarded, he didn't want to burn bridges like that.

"There is something I want," Yarden admitted, "But nothing to do with the Sacred Beasts or blackmailing you about it. I just thought it would make for a good starting point for a trade."

"A trade?" the man's bushy eyebrows rose.

"Yep, a trade," Yarden nodded, "See, I heard from a little birdy that it won't be long from now when you need those seven duelists to guard the Spirit Keys, I'm bringing this up now to offer to be one of them."

Sheppard blinked, "You...are?" he asked, taken aback. He shook his head, "What could I possibly have that you want, that would interest you more than the Sacred Beast's themselves, especially something that would have you so freely offer to guard something that could cost you your life."

"You sure about that sir?" Yarden narrowed his eyes lightly, "You are the master of the Cyber Style school are you not? The one who gave Zane the Cyber Dragon's."

"Ah, so that's it," Sheppard relaxed a bit, and then shook his head, "I'm sorry Yarden, but there is only one set of Cyber Dragon's, and they belong to Zane."

Yarden rolled his eyes, "I'm not interested in the normal Cyber Dragon's, they don't fit my deck," he replied. He gave the man a serious gaze, "I want the Cyber Dark Dragon's that you've still got in your possession, the so called 'Underworld Deck'."

All things considered. The Cyber Dark Dragon's were not strong monsters. Making a deck with them as the main was silly at this point in time. When Zane used them, his deck was so gimmicky it was unreal. Cyber Dragon's and Cyber Dark Dragon's did not at all mix.

At best, they would be decent support for his dragon deck, but would struggle to be a headliner.

But if he was right. Then like the Cyber End Dragon was a spirit, so to would the Cyber Dark Dragon be one.

All was silent for a moment.

Sheppard's eyes focused into a glare on the boy, "I won't even ask how you know about them," he replied, "The answer is no Yarden, those cards dangerous." he flat out rejected him.

"They are," Yarden agreed, "But they wouldn't be if they were just cards alone. There's a spirit involved in those cards, right?"

"Ah.." Sheppard's eyes widened in realization, "So that's what this is about. You want the spirit to add to your growing little army of them."

"Ding ding ding, we have a winner," Yarden chuckled and shrugged, "Spot on sir. The Cyber Dark Dragon's aren't all that powerful as far as I'm concerned and I wouldn't really feel the need to seek them out, if there wasn't a spirit involved." a spirit he knew he could tame. After all, Syrus had shown him how to do it. And it was so simple.

Really, it was almost amusing that prior to going all Hell Kaiser that Zane would have had no trouble earning the Cyber Dark Dragon's respect and taming them.

"I'm sorry Yarden, but the answer is still no," Sheppard shook his head, "You must understand, the Cyber Dark Dragon spirit, is a testy violent beast and those who try to use it are harmed by it in its search for greater power."

"Considering it's been getting locked up, I don't blame it," Yarden snorted, "Tell me. The people that tried to use it before. Did they understand it? Did they respect the monster properly, or did they just fail to endure its tests and panic like losers?"

Sheppard flinched, "...How..how do you know so much about them?" he couldn't help but gape at the boy.

"Because I know spirits better than you ever will sir." Yarden shrugged. And then his lips curved once again as a thought came to mind, a way to prove himself and his capabilities. He reached deep within himself, into the connection he had with his spirits and focused on one of the connections.

And he pulled, summoning the monster within his soul.

Sheppard flinched as light flared beside Yarden and a large, bipedal lizard with brown and green scales appeared beside him, a wingless dragon.

Lesser Dragon regarded the bald man with a low growl from where he stood towering above both of them, glowing ruby red eyes regarding the chancellor with disdain.

Yarden could feel how the dragon felt. Lesser Dragon was annoyed with Sheppard for daring to deny him what he wanted. Lesser Dragon was a good boy.

Chucking, Yarden reached up and fondly scratched the monster under the chin. Lesser Dragon's attention was taken from Sheppard and he let loose a low rumble of pleasure, leaning into Yarden's touch.

"..A Ba..!" Sheppard gaped in awe, "But how? The method of gaining one has been lost to time."

...Seriously? Yarden had to resist the urge to laugh. And it was very hard indeed. It literally was not a complicated process. He just asked the spirits to join him.

It was surprising how much some proper courtesy and good will could get you.

"Trade secret." Yarden replied, clicking his fingers and calling Lesser Dragon back to his soul.

Sheppard stared at the space Lesser Dragon was previously standing in a dazed awe.

Yarden hopped off the desk and slapped his palms down on the table, "How about this," the red wearing teen continued, "Give me a chance with them. A few days to try and win them over, and if I can't, I'll give them back to you. I have my own spirits to protect me, so I'll be fine in the end even if they won't play along. But if they do, the power of the Cyber Dark Dragon will be a big help when it comes to protecting the Spirit Keys."

Chancellor Sheppard bit his lip and shook for a moment, before sighing, the resistance leaving him, "...Very well Yarden, I'll give you one chance," he reluctantly gave in and accepted, "But no more than a single week. Come next Saturday, if you have not won the Cyber Dark's over, then they will be sealed off once again."

"That's fine with me sir," Yarden grinned, pulling his arms off of the desk, "That's all the time I'll need."

Sheppard sighed once again and rolled his eyes. The bald man stood up from his chair behind the large desk and Yarden gave a bemused look as the man walked over to the potted plant behind his deck and pulled the plant up out of the pot, before reaching into the pot and pulling out a shiny black box decorated by golden dragon motif.

"...Are you serious?" the boy deadpanned.

"I like to keep them close by and out of sight," Sheppard gave a sheepish little laugh as he put the plant back in the pot and made his way back over, setting the box down on the table between him and Yarden, "The box itself is a special item that Mr. Pegasus gifted me with to keep the monsters sealed within."

So Pegasus was the one most likely behind the creation of these cards? As expected. He probably made them when he still had the Millenium Eye or something like that.

Yarden reached out and lifted the lid off of the box, setting it aside. As soon as he put it down, he felt an almost physical, cloying force settle on his shoulders and try to press down on him. But, it was easy to resist.

Yarden eyed the box and grinned lightly when he saw the card staring back at him from the top of the small pile of cards in the box cushioned by purple velvet.

Cyber Dark Dragon.

He could feel the presence of a spirit practically oozing from it. 'Hmm, yes, I see why you would want recruit this one,' Serpent Night Dragon hummed, 'Young, so very young for a spirit, possibly even younger than Petit Dragon, yet with strength not too far off of my own.'

Yarden noted that statement with interest as he reached into the box and lifted the small stack of cards and looked through them.

Cyber Dark Dragon, Cyber Dark horn, Cyber Dark Keel and Cyber Dark Edge for monsters. And a few support cards in Cyber Dark Impact, Cyber Dark Inferno, Cyber Dark World and Cyber Dark Invasion. Three spells and a trap.

Not bad. He could think of a few combo's already that would let them work well with his deck.

The pressure on his shoulders dissipated. Yarden waited for the spirit to leave its cards so they could meet face to face.

But...even after a few seconds, it remained within its card. 'Guess I'll meet you properly when we duel together.' Yarden thought to himself.

For a monster spirit with such a bad reputation. It sure was shy.

"Thanks sir," Yarden put it out of mind for now and thanked the bald man watching him like a hawk, "I think me and this little guy will get along pretty well."

Chancellor Sheppard gave a dew rapid befuddled blinks, "Little...guy..?" he gaped at Yarden.

Hmm, now that he was done here, Yarden supposed he should head to the card shop. With his winnings and his DP up even higher, it was about time to buy his third and final Five Headed Dragon and get his hands on the other three gem dragons, Ruby Dragon, Alexandrite Dragon and Labradorite Dragon before he headed out to go find Jinzo.

As it turned out, there was not actually a card by the name of Labradorite Dragon in existence, meaning it probably hadn't been created yet. Ruby Dragon and Alexandrite dragon however did exist. And alongside a third copy of Five Headed Dragon, Yarden wasted no time in buying them up.

And he discovered something else as well. A card showed to him in a catalogue by Sadie.

A gem dragon he had no idea existed. A boss monster that ruled over the archetype. Diamond Head Dragon.

And interestingly enough, it was a Ritual Monster.

Yarden eyed the card art depicted in the catalogue and admired it as he leaned over the counter at the register. It depicted a huge muscular green scaled dragon, with glittering diamond spikes running from its snout all the way down its back to the lip of its tail and even running through the membrane of its wings.

It looked almost like a fusion between Hyozanryu and Luster Dragon 2.

It was a level eight monster, with one hundred attack and defense points. Not exactly very impressive as far as that went, except for the effect.

'This card cannot be normal or special summoned. Must first be special summoned by using The ritual spell card, "Gem Dragons luminance". If summoned this way, this card gains the Atk and def of "Hyozanryu" added to its own. This card gains 300 attk for each "gem dragon" monster in your graveyard or on your field. Should this card leave the field, you can special summon one "Hyozanryu" from your hand, deck or graveyard. While this card is in your graveyard, if your opponent activates a card effect, you can banish this card, negate the activation of it and destroy that card.'

With its effect, it turned into a pretty decent monster, for this point at least. And it had a graveyard effect, which was pretty sweet.

And that wasn't even going into its ritual spell card that had a little side benefit graveyard effect as well, that apparently boosted the attack points of all dragon monsters on the controllers side of the field by two hundred while it was in the graveyard and by banishing it, you could special summon Diamond Head Dragon from the graveyard or banished zone.

"So do you want me to put an order in for it?" Sadie asked.

Yarden looked up from the catalogue and shrugged, "Yeah, sure," he replied, "I wanted to collect all the gem dragons, so I need it if I want to complete the set right?"

"Alright then hun," Sadie smiled, "It shouldn't take that long to get here. You should check back next weekend and it'll probably be here by then."

"Cool." he nodded. He pushed up off of the counter, closing the catalogue and was about to bid the woman goodbye when a thought occurred to him, "Actually Sadie, are there any interesting cards you've got for sale that nobody wants to buy, like Revived Serpent Night Dragon and the like."

"Nothing that specifically helps your dragons hun," she giggled, then tapped her chin and hummed in thought, "There is an odd card that went through a bit of a phase of popularity before people got fed up with it though. It was designed to let duelists basically feel like they're fighting alongside their monsters, but it has a pretty nasty kickback that everyone I saw had trouble playing around."

Designed to let you feel like you were fighting alongside your monsters? Color him intrigued. "I wouldn't mind giving that a look over." he nodded.

"Alright, one sec." she replied, and turned on her heel and headed into the backroom behind the counter.

Yarden drummed his fingers on the counter and waited a minute or two for her to return. When the brown haired woman came out of the back room, she was carrying a small dusty display case.

"Here you go." Sadie set it down and popped the display case open for him to get a look at the card held within.

Its text read 'Transformation.' It was a spell card, and it depicted the shadowed out form of a person with crackling bolts of lightning or energy swirling around their body and seeping into them.

'This card can be activated at any point in either players turn. Tribute one monster you control. Equip this card to the player. That monster becomes armor around you, granting you the monsters attack points and effects. You are counted as a monster and can initiate attacks. Destroy any monster that attacks the equipped player directly, and the equipped player takes no battle damage from direct attacks. When this card is sent to the Graveyard, the equipped player takes damage equal to the combined attack points of all monsters destroyed by this effect, and the tributed monster, doubled. The attack points given by this card does not effect damage calculation for direct attacks and the player is only treated as a monster for the players battle phase. When this card is destroyed, the damage from it will always be directed at the player who played the card.'

As Yarden read over the effect of the card, his eyes began to progressively get wider. 'This thing is busted!' he gaped inwardly. It was basically a quick play spell card and an equip spell card that equipped to the player themselves. If it was activated during the battle phase, he could tribute a monster that had already attacked to basically make a second attack with its attack points.

Sure, the life point deduction kickback could end a duel in an instant if it was played wrong. But, with cards like Barrel Behind The Door, or Rainbow Life, that kickback could be used to get a massive advantage. And on top of that, it basically allowed a player to have six monsters on the field rather than five.

And even as a last resort it could buy time when the player had no monsters or spells or traps and help them last a few turns.

Why the hell wasn't this being used? It was an absolutely overpowered card. This thing would have been banned within a week back home!

"I'll take it." Yarden decided right then and there. He'd already spent thirty-five thousand DP today, but this was too good not to get his hands on!

"I thought you might," Sadie happily cheered a bit, "That'll be ten thousand DP please and thank you."

...Ah, no wonder most of the scrubs weren't playing it then. Most of the idiots wouldn't understand what the card could be used with to negate its disadvantages. On top of that, it was incredibly expensive.

Well no matter, it was completely worth it. He quickly payed for the card and added it to his collection before bidding Sadie goodbye and leaving the card shop behind.

As he left the card shop and entered out into the school hallways, there was a shimmer of light at his side and Dark Magician Girl phased into existence beside him.

"Heya Master!" she greeted cheerfully.

"Welcome back," he greeted her before sending her a raised eyebrow, "You were gone a while." he noted.

"Mmm, that spirit was a tough one to track down," the voluptuous blonde spirit pouted, "He was constantly on the move while I tried to follow him, oh you were right, it's a Jinzo by the way." she informed.

"Is it now?" Yarden grinned, just as he'd hoped it was.

"Just as you guessed Master," she nodded, "He seemed to be chasing a student back and forth throughout the island. Even cut him off from getting on a ship to leave the island."

"Now we just need to chase it down ourselves then," he mused, before frowning and shooting the beautiful spirit a worried look, "Will you guys be able to take it okay?"

"One on one it would be really tough, and I'd have a big chance in losing," she shrugged, before smiling back brightly, "But don't worry master! Between me, Hyonzaryu and Serpent Night Dragon, we shouldn't have too much trouble with it." she reassured him.

Alright then, he'd take her word for it. She was the expert in all of this after all.

A feral grin split Yarden's face. 'It's time to hunt him down.'

There we go, chapter finished.

Had to cut the chapter off early because my nephew came over to stay and I need to make him food and shit and can't really focus on writing with him always wanting my attention. Oh well, the streak lives on! Viva la streak baby!
