New chapter, and as you can tell, I haven't been updating anything. That's because I have classes. I am so damn tired of school, wish me luck everything.
I own none of the content, and please enjoy.
Also, those of you who don't know, it's now been 5 years since I first published Loud Gravity. Damn, I know I should've done something by now, and I'm sorry for that. Hopefully I'll have a chapter or something out soon.
Episode: Last Day In Florida (Season 8, Episode 18)
Dwight's Treasure
Lincoln and the remaining people who didn't go to Tallahassee were working at their desks working. A small group which consisted of: Dwight, Jim, Stanley, Ryan, Cathy, and Erin of them had gone to Florida for a job Robert California had for Dwight, and he needed a small team to go with him. Lincoln would've gone, but his parents wedding anniversary was the week that they would leave, and he couldn't go. Dwight tried to persuade him, but Lincoln had explained that it was one of the few times his entire family would be one place, and he had already cleared it with Robert.
Dwight understood, although reluctantly, and Lincoln wished him and the others luck. And also silently prayed that Dwight didn't kill Jim, knowing the shenanigan's that would ensue with the both of them together.
Andy came out of his office, after he finished up a phone call he had, and he had a distraught look.
"Everyone stop what you're doing, I have terrible news. Dwight is no longer with us." He sadly explained
Lincoln and everyone else looked at Andy in disbelief.
"He's gone dammit. He's been promoted to VP of Saber Retail, and he's staying in Florida forever." Any further explained.
Lincoln let out a sigh of relief, say what you want about Dwight, but Lincoln thought of him as a friend, and the thought of anything happening to him, was something he didn't want hear about.
"So he's alive?" Angela asked, her voice thick with emotion, and disbelief.
"Yeah, that was him on the phone. He sounds wonderful."
"Well, the way you said, made it sound like he was dead."
"How could I have been more clear? He had a massive stroke of good fortune, and he is now in a better place." Andy said.
Lincoln sighed, and said," Andy, think back to what you just said, for a moment."
Andy did so, and his widened once he figured it out." Oh, yeah, thanks Linc. Sorry about that everyone." He apologized.
"If Dwight is not coming back, does that mean we can open his treasure?" Phyllis asked.
Lincoln sighed, as did everyone else, knowing how that particular thing had been hotly debated since Dwight and the others had left.
"Guys, we've been over this. There is no treasure." Oscar said.
"Right, before the team left for Tallahassee, Dwight had gotten our attention, and he told them to not open his treasure. And he left a small box under his desk, and it has been driving everyone insane. I was already back home at the time, and Pam was the one to call me, and asked about it, to see if I know anything. I didn't, and I ended up thinking about it the whole time back in Royal Woods. Man… why did the guy have to do this to us. It's basically Schrödinger's Cat or Pandora's Box, and I am both afraid and curious to open it. But, from growing up in the house I lived in, getting into anyone's personal business is just asking for trouble. Dang' it, my sisters actually told me that we should open the thing. After I told them." Lincoln said as he was being interviewed.
The debate was still going on, and Andy had brought out a whiteboard, and had written down everyone's suggestions, which were:
Schrute Bones
Star Wars Stuff
Survival List
A List Of Ways To Get Back At Jim For All Of His Pranks
Nudie Mags
Rosebud-Type Scenario
Photo With Our Toothbrushes Up His Butt
Actual Gold
Trap
Personal Secrets
"I think Dwight wanted us to realize that this conversation among friends, is the true treasure." Andy suggested.
"Nope, I don't buy it." Lincoln said.
"Well, I'm dying to know what's in it." Oscar said.
Andy sighed, feeling the same thing as everyone else, and said." I know, Oscar, we all are. But you have to be insane."
Lincoln sealed himself for what he was about to do, this whole entire treasure thing had been driving him and everyone else up a wall, but now things were going to get real.
"Fine, I've done crazier things growing up. I'll do it."
Pam looked worried, and asked." Lincoln, are you sure?"
"Yeah, pretty much."
Kevin gave them a sly look, and said." Maybe you should give him a kiss for good luck?"
"Not funny, Kevin." Both Lincoln and Pam said, feeling annoyed.
The whole, Lincoln/Pam thing had stemmed back to when Jim left Scranton, and Lincoln took it upon himself to cheer up and help Pam. They became good friends, and somehow that led to everyone believing hat they had feelings for one another. It seemed like a long, stressful running gag of sorts, and even though it was abundantly clear that Pam and Jim were the ones in love. But that didn't stop the jokes.
"Okay, seriously? Pam and I are good friends. And Jim is one of my best friends. The whole potential romance thing is just dumb." Lincoln lamented when he was being interviewed.
Lincoln stretched, and took a breath as he looked at Dwight's Treasure, and then looked at everyone else. They were all hiding and standing a good distance away, just in case anything happened. One would feel annoyed by this, but Lincoln would be lying if he said he wouldn't do the same.
"Now carefully, open the box." Andy said from his hiding place.
Lincoln carefully and slowly opened the box, and shakily looked inside the box. He blinked at what he saw, and he took the photo out of the box, and showed it to everyone.
"Huh, you won't believe this, but it's a photo of all of us." Lincoln said, with small smile.
Lincoln didn't know that Dwight was the sentimental type, but it warmed his heart.
He knew he cared about all them, but he didn't want anyone to know.
"Oh, that's so sweet." Pam gushed.
Lincoln didn't get a chance to answer, due to him yelping when something shot out of the box, and he fell to the floor.
He looked up, and saw a dart embedding into the ceiling.
"Holy Shmoly." Lincoln breathed.
He looked at everyone, and they all had various degrees of shock.
"Okay, I think we should have a new rule: Don't open any of Dwight's things unless you ask him, or he opens it himself." Lincoln weakly said.
Everyone could only nod dumbly.
