Act 1: Part 3

[101]

(Not much to say as the image and text is not much to react to)

[102]

Dipper:

"I don't see the point of the cake." Dipper said, "but at least it got rid of a useless object."

Webby:

"Receive the cake and fake arm, and put it back on the jester' body," Webby said.

"More likely it would fall off again," Lena said.

[103]

Dipper:

"Or use a better system that doesn't require you to use the first or last object," Dipper complains. Sighing from seeing John combining everything into the cakes

Webby:

"Well… at least you spare some room" the girl nervously chuckle

[104]

Dipper:

"Just like trying to enter Grunke Stan's room," Dipper said, remembering when he wasn't allowed to enter his room, but have to to find secrets that he had.

Webby:

"Ooh, secrets from your father I see," Webby said, now curious to see what's behind that room, but know that he's going to go to the bathroom instead.

[105]

Dipper:

"And there's the regular child stuff for a regular child," Dipper said.

Webby:

"Man, I would like to ride on those pogo rides, it would be like riding a horse!" Webby said, daydreaming about doing regular child stuff that was only introduced when she started hanging out with the triplets.

[106]

Dipper:

"Though it uses certain words, at least he managed to use this system very well for this occasion." Dipper said, "and at least his stuff isn't ruined.

Webby:

"Operation, cake surgery initiated!" Webby said looking at the first image, then looked at the second, "surgery is a success, now for patching up the wound." She looked at the third image, "and the operation is complete!"

[107]

Dipper:

"Now you're figuring that out!?" Dipper said, hoping that stuff like this won't happen to him.

Mabel meanwhile laughs at the operated cake being in the toilet.

Webby:

"And now the cake is in the toilet!" Webby said, before laughing at the fact. "so hilarious!"

[108]

Dipper:

"Now we can finally see what this game is…" Dipper spoke too soon before looking at the hyperlink text, "seriously?"

Webby:

"We can look at weird creature posters later, play the game already" Webby shouted, starting to get annoyed from John's huge delay to play the game.

[109]

Dipper:

Dipper facepalms, a little annoyed that John talks about Matthew McConaughey. Especially when he said that he isn't into chick-flicks.

"I don't know why he put up posters of terrible movies on his walls," Dipper complains.

Webby:

"bor-ring!" Webby moans before clicking on a more interesting hyperlink towards the Pesterchum.

[110]

Dipper:

The next page shows John on his Pesterchum, where green and red appears, while red is turntech, he was interested to see the new person.

He reads what they said, with green (or 'gardenGnostic') was wishing John happy birthday while he was away from his computer while turntech talking about how he likes things ironically and about the red package.

While these are interesting characters, looking at the text was interesting to read, it was like reading someone's text chat.

Speaking which, Dipper thought about the other person and decided to Pester his new friend.

Webby:

Webby looked at the Pesterchum messages from the new person and turntech, it wasn't being rude anymore… mostly, but it was interesting to see that he has an interest in ironic stuff.

For Webby, she wasn't sure about how things can be ironic, as it seems to be a bad thing because it means things that ironic can go against her at any point.

She clicked on the hyperlink but ended up getting a notification.

Dipper is pestering him.

[OS-10]

Dipper minimizes the Homestuck page and looked at the status of the game, so far, the host is connected, but his download is still ongoing, only less than 10% to go…

"what are you doing?" Mabel asked.

Right, Mabel is watching.

"I'm just talking to someone who's also reading this, her name is Webby."

"chatting to a girl I see…" Webby winked, causing Dipper to stutter.

"No, it's… it's not like that… she's also reading this just as I am,"

"In any case, can I speak to her?" Mabel asked.

"I prefer not," Dipper said, "don't want to make a wrong expression, if you want to talk to her, find your own game."

Hearing this Mabel was a little annoyed, "maybe I will," she then march away from her brother, letting him talk to this new friend, but a little annoyed.

"Such a drama queen." Dipper rolled his eyes, "but that's Mabel…"

He opens Pesterchum, he notices something new on the Chumroll list.

'[Awaiting user] (pink)

[Awaiting user] (orange)'

Two more users have been added?

This was interesting.

In any case, he focuses on the still active user and starts pestering her.

[OS-11]

- PinesDecipher [PD] began pestering GrandAdventureGirl [GA]

PD: How's the story so far?

GA: Oh… Hi Dipper!

GA: I'm having a great time so far

GA: though I feel that the story is…

GA: a little long

PD: yeah

PD: I feel that this story is padding itself, showing useless stuff that doesn't matter.

PD: Just stuff that I would be willing to skip

GA: Yeah, like MacConahay

PD: McConaughey

GA: you know what I mean.

GA: I wanted to know what is he?

PD: I can't tell you

PD: Never heard of him

PD: But it seems that he's an actor who stars in chick-flick movies

PD: Not really into that stuff

PD: Have you notice the new users?

GA: Users?

PD: Pink and orange

PD: A little weird that they weren't added before

GA: I'm still waiting to find out who's red and green

PD: hopefully they'll show up later

GA: I guess

PD: Okay, just checking up on your status, going to resume looking at the story

PD: later

[111]

Dipper:

"Because of course, you would," Dipper said, knowing that John is going to delay the installation.

Webby:

"Okay fine," Webby admits towards the 'amazing website ever' that caught her interest. "let's take a look before we get into the game.

[112]

Dipper:

"I want to know what you like about these MS paint adventure games," Dipper said before feeling relieved that the hyperlink would show what he's looking forward to.

Webby:

"Ooh, mobsters and heists." Webby said, catching the interest of the Midnight Crew, "sometimes the adventure of a sinister boss of a scheming gang can be fun, granted Scrooge deals with them most of the time, but it's always interesting to see the mindset of a criminal."

Though, with that in mind, she forgets about it when she clicks back to the hyperlink that shows something that she wants to see.

[113]

Dipper:

"Finally." Dipper gave a huge sigh of relief. "now we can get a look at the game before it gets…"

Webby:

"it's about time!" Webby said, excited to see this game, "now we can see what we're going to play…"

[114]

Dipper:

"Of course…" Dipper said, feeling a little disappointed that the game would be running for John, but have to wait until he got a connection.

Webby:

"Oh, come on!" Webby moans, "can't we get a preview before we know what we're getting into!?"

[115]

Dipper:

"Accurate for someone who wants to program," Dipper said, a little interested in John's interest while his game is getting ready.

Webby:

"This is the sort of thing Gyro would be interested in," Webby said, who doesn't understand much on coding, but find it interesting as it creates games and robots.

[116]

Dipper:

"And this is probably the reason why you're not good a programming." Dipper pointed out, remembering when it said that John isn't good at programming. "if you find guides boring, then you ignore the basics of the basics."

Webby:

"Yeah, that looks a bit boring… and rude…" Webby said, a little unsettled from the book title.

[117]

Dipper:

"It… doesn't sound like an improvement." Dipper said, "there isn't much difference between the two… I think…"

Webby:

"first in and first out instead of first in and last out?" Webby read that part, "does that mean when you put in the first item and you try to put out the last one, it would remove the first item instead of the last one? Because that would be cool… granted it would make the stacked stuff useless, but still cool."

[118]

Dipper:

"I expected this." Dipper facepalms from how bad the fetch modus was and hoped that if he comes across such a fetch modus, he will never captchalogue it nor put it as a mode in his sylladex.

Webby:

"Wow… that was… a lot worse than I thought…" Webby said, "now you can only use the first and last thing, as a saw around of the deck line."

[119]

Dipper:

"I'm still wondering how that works." Dipper said, "I didn't even know one exists till moments ago."

Webby:

"It would still be cool if they exist." Webby smiled at the thought, "though I don't think I would use it, inventory shouldn't be a challenge than the battle we face."

[120]

Dipper:

"You just need to drop the razor, to test how the sylladex works." Dipper pointlessly explained, "it's not hard to explain."

Webby:

"What's the big deal putting down a razor?" Webby question John's confusion.

[121]

Dipper:

"Okay, at least you can pick up stuff," he said, "but only the first and last can only be used, so only picking up another item can the things in the middle can be used, would be hard for picking up second items in the line."

Webby:

"And we got the cake again." Webby said, "time to experiment with this modus!"

[122]

Dipper:

"And expected, the last item gets launched out." Dipper expected something like this to happen. "worth a shot though."

Webby:

"Hey, at least you can weaponize your inventory." Webby suggested, "I didn't think that can be possible…"

"because nobody wants to launch things out of their pockets Webby." Lena pointed out.

[123]

Dipper:

"Because a useless book of jokes is good to put in your precious and weird inventory" Dipper pointed out.

Webby:

"at least you have a towel on your head." Webby snickered.

[124]

Dipper:

Dipper can only make a double facepalm combo when John captchalogue the handcuffs.

"How silly is this kid!?" Dipper complains.

Webby:

"Phone bullet!" Webby raised her arms as a way to enjoy herself.

[125]

Dipper:

"Now that PDA is useless now." Dipper said, "doubt it survive being thrown out the window."

Webby:

"Woah, look how far it went." Webby said, impressed by how deadly the sylladex fetch modus is when pulling out items when there's no space. "imagine what would happen if you pull out everything in once. That would be a deadly move."

[126]

Dipper:

Dipper suddenly realizes what John is going to do when the Razor is bring brought back to attention, "Don't you dare captcha…"

Webby:

"Oh yeah, get the razor," Webby said, "a good sharp blade to open packages!"

[127]

Dipper:

"Seriously?" Dipper is now a little angry, now looking at how silly things are getting.

And the hyperlink text is making things worse.

Webby:

"Boom!" Webby said, "Box headshot."

[128]

Dipper:

"Again!" Dipper said, now wanting to bash his head on the desk, "don't use your sylladex. Just pick things and carry things like a normal person!"

Webby:

"There goes the cake." Webby said, now her hype dying down, "and the poster…"

[129]

Dipper:

"Why in the world would you want to pick up glass shards!? Let alone captchalogue them!?" Dipper continues to complain

Webby:

"And now you have glass in your inventory," Lena said, "this John kid is really stupid.

[130]

Dipper:

"Which more likely you will," Dipper said, having a feeling that it would take John about 100 pages before he remembers about the stuff he threw outside.

Webby:

"Keep that in mind," Webby said, as she also makes a mental note. Even if it's pointless.

[131]

Dipper:

"Is it hard to do that?" Dipper said, "how in the world does he do mundane tasks or tasks at all if he wastes his time sorting out his inventory and making a huge mess?"

Webby:

"Time to see what's inside the red box." Webby ignore what happened in the previous pages and now interested to see what's inside.

The text wasn't assuring.

[132]

Dipper:

"So his internet friend gotten him the same plush bunny from one of his favourite terrible films?" Dipper said, "sounds like an amazing present for John, and would worth the time-wasting about on the fetch modus, very thoughtful indeed."

Webby:

"Now that's amazing." Webby said, "you got yourself a bunny rabbit from the same film, looks dirty but if it's the same from the film, then it's worth having, it must be priceless!"

"Or it's just a dirty bunny." Lena pointed out.

[133]

Dipper:

"Looks like the connection is made… hopefully," Dipper said.

Webby:

"It's about time…" Webby said, "fingers cross that we are close in playing the game…"

[134]

Dipper:

From that moment, Dipper decided to move his computer popups around after looking at the image, one for when he's checking for the game download and the other while he's reading this story.

While John's game is ready, Dipper notice that his download is only 98% completed, meaning that it's not long before he can play SBURB.

Webby:

"Okay, now time to enter." Webby said before reading the Hyperlink, "oh wait, better to talk to the friend who's going to help you…"

[135]

Dipper:

The download is at 99%.

Looking at the story again, the pesterlog shows that John's friend is ready to play the game. Telling that John is the client while tentacleTherapist runs the server.

It made him wonder who's going to be in what position for when he and Webby play the game.

Just when he clicked on the hyperlink, he got a pester notification from Webby, just when the download went to 100%.

Webby:

"Alright then, time to start this game," Webby said.

At that moment, she got a notification on her computer from the SBURB game.

She clicked on it and notice that like what it said on the page they're on, the client is ready and formed a connection.

Before they start playing, it was good to talk to Dipper. It seems the nice way to do it, plus Dipper has control for when the game starts. So better be prepared.

[OS-12]

- GrandAdventureGirl [GA] began pestering PinesDecipher [PD] –

GA: okay download complete, you ready?

PD: ready

GA: we managed to wait this long and read too much, might as well go in.

PD: hopefully there would be a good reason for all of this

PD: otherwise, it would feel like a waste of time

GA: Well it would be worth trying :)

GA: Oh, how about we click on the next page while we enter the game

PD: okay then.

GA: clicked the hyperlink

PD: I'll do that before I press enter

[136]

Dipper:

It turns out to be a gif.

"Oh…" Dipper said, but looking at the game, it seems that it's loading.

He continues the pester.

Webby:

It turns out to be a gif.

Nothing happened until she got a pester notification from Dipper.

[OS-13]

PD: please click the hyperlink, turns out to be a pointless page

GA: Okay, sorry…

Dipper: Enter

[137]

Dipper:

The following scene on the page was the loading screen, with flashes and the circle moving around while a loading bar is installing many things.

Exactly like his on the computer.

In the end, the title reads 'SBURB' with a small text that reads 'Client connected.'

Webby:

Webby watched things being installed, just the same as for her game, and like her game, things were being installed.

And just like both boxes, it reads 'SBURB' only for her, there was a text below that reads 'press ENTER'.

She presses it and pressed the hyperlink at the same time.

[138]

Dipper:

The image then shows John's room, but with a user interface.

This confused Dipper a little. "what? is he in a video game now?" he asked, before looking at his game.

There was just the title and the words 'Client connected', but nothing is happening.

Webby:

The duck girl looked at both the image and the game, both were similar but in different locations.

The thing they both have is the user interface. One showed John in his room.

The other showed… one of those weird creatures she'd been seeing since the start of reading this story. The creature was in a room that has two beds, one regular while the other was girly. This creature boy was wearing regular clothes like the creatures did, wearing shorts, a red shirt and a black vest, along with a blue and white hat with a pine tree.

"Woah…" she said, after seeing that Dipper was ready to see the next page, so she clicked on the hyperlink while exploring the controls.

[139]

Dipper:

Dipper wasn't sure about the next page when it showed TT (guess it's tentacletherapist) lifting John's magical chest.

"Oh no…" Dipper suddenly realized, "please don't tell me…"

Dipper looked around and saw a chest, Mabel's sweater chest, being lifted. Along with a yellow mouse, unlike the green mouse with four squares, this one had six.

Dipper screamed, which ultimately caused the chest to drop and sweaters to scatter around the room.

He has a clear suspicion of what's going on, he quickly went back to the computer and pester the one who could be responsible for the chest lifting.

Webby:

Webby looked gif, noticing how TT lifting the chest.

Which means she can do that too.

She decided to give it a go. Looking for a nearby chest to lift.

With her keen eye, she found a wooden chest, it wasn't magic, but a chest no doubt.

Webby clicked her mouse and lifted the chest.

It was up in the air, the boy creature turns around and scream, causing her to let go of the mouse button in shock, ultimately making a mess in the boy's room.

Webby then see the boy going back to his computer and type words.

All of the sudden, Dipper continued to pester.

[OS-14]

PD: Okay, what the hell was that?

GA: What's what?

PD: The chest, the mouse. Did you lift the chest?

GA: You saw that?

GA: Awesome :)

PD: NO!

PD: It's not awesome

PD: You made a huge mess in my room

GA: Wait…

GA: Your room?

PD: Webby, I have made a full conclusion that you are capable of manipulating my environment through this game

PD: Just as how TT did to John.

GA: Wait

GA: So, YOU'RE one of those weird creature things?

PD: Weird creature thing?

PD: What are you talking about?

PD: Hold on…

PD: Don't… don't you know what a human is?

GA: Of course, I know what a human is Dipper

GA: It's a group mindset towards all beings, like humanity and all that.

GA: What does that have to do with you being those weird pink pig-like anthropomorphic creatures?

PD: …

GA: hello?

PD: Webby

PD: What… are you?

PD: Creature-wise, I mean…

GA: I'm a duck.

PD: A duck?

GA: Yeah, like Scrooge McDuck?

PD: Okay, I need time to process this

PD: I already ready up, just click onto the next page while I try to understand what's going on

GA: Same here :)

- GrandAdventureGirl [GA] stop pestering PinesDecipher [PD] -

[140]

Dipper:

After clicking on the computer, Dipper stood up, walking around his room, trying to understand what's going on and the information given.

All this time, he thought he was talking to a regular girl, but it turns out he was talking to a duck? That understands what humanity is but don't know what a human is. How in the world is that possible? Shouldn't it be duckmanity or duckanity if the concept of a human being doesn't exist?

He has to keep thinking about more stuff, as Webby clicked on the Hyperlink, he clicked on it so he can continue to think about what's going on.

Webby:

While the boy on screen, now being Dipper. Walking around the room. Webby looked at the Homestuck page that showed a button function that let her rotate the room or zoom out or zoom in.

She decided to give it a go and zoom out of the room.

A few clicks later. She saw the outside of his room. A big wooden building in the middle of the forest, with a big title that reads 'Mystery Shack' though the 'S' was removed so it looked like 'Mystery Hack'.

Wanting to know more, she clicked on the Hyperlink and waited for Dipper to respond, when he did, it went to the next page.

[141]

Dipper:

Looking at the image of TT putting the chest on top of John's roof, it shows the capabilities of what Webby can do at the Mystery Shack, like what TT did, she could have placed all of Mabel's sweaters on top of the roof, it would be a hard time to hear from his sister.

Not to mention what's going on.

"I swear, Webby needs to be careful," Dipper said, "wait a minute"

He turns to look at where the camera would have been.

"If you can hear me, pester me!"

No, respond.

"Okay, so she can see me but not hear me." He looks back at the computer and clicks on the next page.

Webby:

"Wow… I would have done that…" Webby thought, realizing the full potential of what she can do.

She still learning, but she wants to use more of this feature, now curious about what she can do.

Of course, she has to be responsible for this power. as a superhero once again, with 'great power, comes great responsibility.

And she'll start by cleaning up the bedroom.

She clicks on the hyperlink while zooming back at Dippers room.

[142]

Dipper:

"Great," Dipper said as he sees John equipping the previous fetch modus, "now he can move them from first to last… that's a bit of an improvement"

The last part was sarcastic.

Webby:

"good feature for the inventory," Webby said, before focusing back on the sweaters, as she attempts to pick each of them up and place them in the opened chest.

She managed to pick up three sweaters before clicking the hyperlink when Dipper is ready for the next page.

[143]

Dipper:

"Oh right, I forgot about everyone at the Shack," Dipper said, trying to recall where everyone was, but he wasn't sure.

He knows his sister was around, but she went downstairs when he talked to Webby.

Webby:

Out of curiosity, Webby decided to look around the building.

Going to the floor below, Webby sees a girl sitting on a chair watching TV. The girl facial similarities with Dipper on-screen, meaning that she would be his sister, probably a twin.

There was also a big chubby man with a green shirt with a black question mark.

Again, when Dipper was ready, Webby clicked onto the next page.

[144]

Dipper:

"So, there's a limit to where the host can manipulate the environment." Dipper thought, "that's a good thing, don't want a duck to treat my world like some sandbox."

The idea itself would be insane and worrisome. But glad that she has limits.

Granted those limits is at the shack, but it's the thought that counts.

Webby:

"Oh man, so I can only go around the building?" Webby complains, trying it out herself.

She zooms outside and tries to put her mouse beyond the building, like picking up the trees.

But to her susceptions, she is out of bounds, therefore can't go beyond the Mystery Shack.

While outside, Webby notice a grown girl walking towards the shack, wearing a green-lined shirt and an ear covered hat.

[145]

Dipper:

"Good, can't able to interact with players," Dipper said, before looking around, a little worried that Webby might experiment and try to interact with him, like picking him up.

"Don't you there do that to me," Dipper shouted to the ceiling; he still isn't fully sure if Webby can hear her.

Webby:

Webby was more focused on exploring the rest of the building, going to a room that features weird statues and items, while a suited man with a fez and an eyepatch talk to a bunch of other creatures of his kind.

There was also a gift shop place, where it showed the green shirt lady from earlier.

If she had to guess, Dipper lives in a business house, but she isn't sure what it sells.

The best she can tell is that it's a museum of strange artefacts.

[146]

Dipper:

"And as established, the host can interact with other objects," Dipper said.

Webby:

"Oh right! the sweaters!" Webby suddenly remembers. Going back to Dipper's room.

[147]

Dipper:

While the gift plays out, Dipper turns around to see the yellow mouse clicking on sweaters and dragging them into the chest.

He smiled seeing this, a little glad that Webby is helping him clean up his house.

Enough for him to finish the job, as he picked up some other sweaters and put them in the chest.

Once everything is in the chest, Dipper went back on the computer and go onto the next page.

Webby:

Returning to the room, Webby clicked on the more sweaters and drag them back into the chest. She was also delighted when Dipper notice and helped her with the remaining sweaters before the room is spotless of sweaters.

"Teamwork!" Webby said before clicking onto the next page.

[148]

Dipper:

Dipper sees the animation of TT 'Revise' John's room. Which resulted in her expanding the space of the room.

Seeing this, Dipper was a little unsure about this feature.

"Why do I have a bad feeling about this?"

As he clicked on the hyperlink, a shake occurred, forcing him to turn around before looking at the next page.

Webby:

"Oh! I want to do that too!" Webby said in excitement, quickly going onto the revise button and start expanding the room, making a square behind the two beds.

Now Dipper has an empty space to put something big in here, even the triangular window moved further to fit with the new space.

She was happy with what she did.

[149]

Dipper:

"What the?" Dipper was confused when he saw his room getting bigger.

Webby just did what TT did. And he wasn't sure how to feel about this. Especially to how it's physically possible.

He turns to see the next page, seeing the expanded room in John's room getting bigger from the outside.

This means the room in his must be much bigger, like the shack having a nose.

He clicked on the next page. Ignoring this fact, but know that he has to explain this to his grunkles.

Webby:

"Oh…" Webby said, looking at the gif that showed what happened to the new space from the outside perspective.

She zooms out to see that the building indeed, got bigger. Now having a nose for a building.

"Hope Dipper doesn't mind the next space," Webby said, clicking on the next page and zooming back to Dipper's room.

[150]

Dipper:

"Okay," Dipper said, looking at the gif to see TT opening up something called the 'Phernalia Registry' showing off three new items that seemed big.

"You know what? I think the expansive space is needed." Dipper said, a little curious about the new items and wonder if, at the end of the game, they would disappear.

Only time would tell.

Webby:

"Alright, new stuff," Webby said, excited to see what they do.

Based on what's going to happen next in the story, she decided to follow what the story shows, meaning that after clicking on the next page, she's going to place a new item called a 'Totem Lathe', which made her curious for what it would do and how it's important for the game.

Only time would tell.

[OS-15]

Meanwhile, in the middle of the forest, a young girl in a trench coat and sunglasses took a stroll.

She's walking through the forest for a good reason. She wants to talk to someone she doesn't consider a friend, but someone who knows a lot of strange stuff in this town.

While on her travels. Another yet smaller creature appeared, noticing the girl walking along and was curious about where she's going.

"SHMEBULOCK!" he said as he starts following the girl without her noticing.

[END of Act 1: Part 3]
