Act 1: Part 5

[OS-24]

A Young girl stands in her room, technically, the room doesn't belong to her, as it was owned by the Richest Duck in the world. But it is her own since her granny works as the caretaker of the manor.

Now enough about the manor and more on the girl, does this story know her name?

Well, it was explained several times in the previous chapters, so this was indeed a rhetorical question.

Her name is WEBBY VANDERQUACK.

Her name is WEBBY, though her real name is WEBBIGAIL she prefers to use her short name rather than her given name. she is in her room, filled with several books and toys she uses as a way to talk her thoughts or as target practice. She has a knack for adventure and many different topics that can help her with her adventure, and since she met the triplets, Huey, Dewey and Louie, she starts to do more adventures and made new friends with the triplets.

What will she do?

She has something to do later today, as Scrooge McDuck is planning to go on another adventure. But they have to wait for Launchpad to arrive, as he is the driver and the pilot.

But until then, she has spare time.

Earlier today, her granny gave her a strange parcel that was addressed for her. She ensured that the parcel is double-checked and looked at before she gives it to her granddaughter. She was always helpful just in case bad people are inside and want to ambush her, best better prepared than sorry.

Of course, she didn't tell her what's inside the parcel after checking its containments, which allow her to be surprised.

Webby wasn't expecting any parcels, she didn't order anything online or any of that. It could be a surprise. She loves surprises.

Webby opens the package.

Inside the package were two items, a letter and a disk.

(We already read the letter, so we can skip it. Just replace the who it's to with the reader)

[OS-25]

A story AND a game?! That's like killing two birds with one stone!

Webby was happy for what she got, granted she doesn't know the disk but it was something to look forward to and can kill some time before they can set off on an adventure.

She went over to her laptop and inserted the disk.

And indeed both the story and the game appears, but also an additional pop-up appears. the game is currently downloading.

She tried to look at the story, but it requires a username, she decided to make her name very obvious to what she likes and what gender she is.

GrandAdventureGirl.

After entering the username, the story is shown on the web pages, revealing a computer screen with a weird green ghost. Not much to see and it seems the story has skipped over a few pages.

But the third pop-up caught Webby's attention much more than the other two.

[OS-26]

Unknown to her surroundings, in the shadow realm, Lena appears behind Webby, curious to see what she's up to.

Ever since she was vanquished by her maker, Aunt Magica, she put her remains inside the friendship bracelet that Webby is currently wearing, whenever she wears it, she can follow her around and see what she's doing. She can't interact with the physical world, nor communicate with Webby. But it was better than being dead.

Though, unlike her usual routine of practising skills, study books or being with Scrooge McDuck or the boys, she went onto a video game called SBURB. Which caught her curiosity and wanting to see what the game is about.

Plus, there is literally nothing else to do but watch her friend.

[OS-27]

Webby: go on the third pop-up

She goes on the pop-up to see what looked like a chat software; it looks like there are four people including herself, who should be on this software, with one already active named 'PinesDecipher.'

All of the sudden, she got a notification from this PinesDecipher, and in her curiosity, she answered his pestering.

[OS-28]

- PinesDecipher [PD] began pestering GrandAdventureGirl [GA] -

PD: Hello?

GA: Hi

GA: do you know what's going on?

PD: I'm just confused as you.

(we have seen this conversation, check [OS-6] for the full conversation)

[OS-29 and 201]

Webby: SKIP 175 PAGES!

After looking at a lot of pages and playing SBURB, Webby was incredibly invested in playing the game.

She quickly learned that this game interacts with the space of her host, that being a Dipper, a young boy who wasn't a duck or a pig or a dog or a bird, but a creature known as a 'human'.

So far, she's just helping Dipper with this game by going through the instructions told in the Homestuck story, they opened the weird device that had a cylinder and two orbs called a Kernelsprite.

This excites Webby that she wants to go fully through this game.

Up until someone arrived at her room.

She turned to see that it was Dewey, one of the three boys who are nephews to Scrooge McDuck. In the previous chapter, he said that he needs to talk to Webby.

"Sure, what is it?" Webby said, eager to listen to one of the boys.

"you know the adventure we're supposed to go?"

Oh right! she completely forgotten about the adventure, she was so invested

"Oh no! don't tell me they left without me!" Webby said, a little worried that she will be missing out on another adventure with Scrooge McDuck.

"no," Dewey reassured her, "but unfortunately the adventure had to be cancelled."

This was very unusual for Scrooge, Webby usually see him being a very confident duck, someone who doesn't let a challenge get to him. he is smarter than the smarties, tougher than the toughies and sharper than the sharpies.

"Cancelled? Why?" she asked.

"Apparently there has been weather reports of multiple asteroids falling on Earth? I think."

This widens the girl's eyes hearing asteroids. "Wait what?"

"Yeah, and some already hit where we were supposed to go and more are still coming."

"Are any of them serious?" Webby asked, knowing her knowledge of asteroids, it can be bad signs, especially if the asteroids are meteor sized, if one ever collide with their world then all of humanity would be wiped out.

"Not sure, but I'm concerned. Huey said that these asteroids were recently discovered with no signs of origins and more are coming as we speak, he said that it was unusual."

This does sound troubling.

Better to change the subject.

"Well, even then, I wasn't going to go with him anyway," Webby said, though a little bummed out, "I'm currently playing this game called SBURB. While looking at a webcomic series called Homestuck. Since the adventure is cancelled, do you want to read it with me?"

"A webcomic series?" Dewey raised an eyebrow, "wouldn't think you be into those."

"Well, this series is part of the game… I think…" Webby said, "I fun so far, and I can tell you what's going on."

Hearing this, Dewey shrugs his shoulder, "you know what, I don't have anything else to do," he then gets himself a chair and sat next to Webby, now joining in with the reading. First looking at what seemed to be a floor getting fixed by a mouth. And the other image looked like a video game.

Just one glance and he already have many questions.

[202]

Dipper:

"Okay, so the Dad returned and notice strange things happening." Dipper looked at the next page before looking up at everyone else, "guess it's a similar reaction as you guys."

Webby:

The page showed John's dad now finding the door locked and a strange thing happening.

"Okay, who is that and what happened?" Dewey had to ask, already confused about the scene.

that's the protagonist's father," Webby started to explain, "he and John are these creatures called 'humans' like my new friend Dipper and John is playing SBURB with TT and she accidentally broke the toilet and…"

"Never mind," Dewey interrupted, "I think it's better to read and look before I get more confused."

[203]

Dipper:

"yeah, I think it's better if I use the computer than this phone, stay here," Dipper turned to everyone else as he goes towards his bedroom, Mabel followed him.

Webby:

"With the phone gone, the computer is the only way to contact TT," Webby said.

"How did he lost his phone?" Dewey asked.

"Inventory problems."

[204]

Dipper:

Dipper arrived at his computer and notice that while he was on the phone, the pages followed on the computer. Meaning there's no way to go back.

He starts reading the Pesterlogs, first from TT who talked about how the meteor could be connected to the game, complain about how the writers of the walkthrough are now really helpful and decided to write her own walkthrough.

"I guess it can work," Dipper said, wondering and a bit excited to see this walkthrough that TT is going to make, it might be useful for his own dilemma.

After reading TT, Mabel enters their room and quickly noticed the big change.

"Wow! When did our room get bigger?"

"When Webby made it bigger," Dipper answered.

He read the second part with is from the annoying turntech. Though it wasn't annoying as it was a nice comment about his gift to John, obviously John would be more worried about the meteor.

Then turntech talks about how it would be scary how to big it is.

"either way it would cause a lot of damage," Dipper said before going to the next page.

Webby:

Webby read the following two conversations with both TT and turntech, as the first talked about how things are connected and TT making a walkthrough.

While this was interesting information for the girl duck, the boy duck was a little concerning after hearing news of multiple asteroids. It made him wonder they too were connected to this story or that something similar is happening to them.

"Yeah, I forgot to tell you that Dipper has a meteor heading to his place, and I'm trying to help him stop it destroying his house," Webby mentioned an important detail.

Again, this was a little worrisome for Dewey. Not even turntech's talk about how big meteors are helped his troubles, and a little concerning since it has multiple swears.

Webby meanwhile snickered on how turntech talk on how sizes description would surprise anyone, especially the Jupiter part.

[205]

Dipper:

"Okay, let's do this," Dipper said, trying to access his punch card but realized that it wasn't the first item in his deck.

"Oh right," he said, remembering that after putting the journal in his strife deck, the Jackalope he captachalogue earlier was first to access, with the card being the next in the list.

Normally, he would consider picking random stuff just to get the card out of his deck, but he thought of a better, more efficient way to using this modus, especially when there aren't many items in his sylladex.

He pulled the Jackalope out of his deck and throw it away, then access the punch card.

"This modus sucks," Dipper comments on his inventory logic before interesting the card into the Totem Lathe and just like what the page showed a configuration of chisels pops out.

Webby:

"Okay, we're making progress," Webby said.

"What progress?" Dewey asked.

"Of this game, I provide the resources while Dipper does the rest!" Webby explained. "now Dipper needs to get that cylinder thing."

[206]

Dipper:

"Mabel, get the Cruxite from Soos." Dipper commands his sister.

"You got it dippin' dots!" Mabel said before rushing downstairs.

Webby:

"If I understand this correctly, John is hiding away from his dad because of this game." Dewey said, "I guess it makes sense, if he gets caught with the whole mess, he would be in great trouble.

"that or he would constantly try to give his son cake." Webby joked.

[207]

Dipper:

"Too late TT" Dipper comments when looking at the two gif images. "his dad already saw it."

Webby:

"So did someone pulls off John's toilet?" Dewey asked, to which Webby respond.

And yet for him, it wasn't the weirdest thing he saw.

[208]

Dipper:

"Got the circle thingy," Mabel shouted and kick through her door.

And indeed, when Dipper turns to see his sister, he can see the pink and blue Cruxite Dowel.

"Thanks, Mabel," Dipper said before captchalogue the cylinder. Awaiting instructions when he goes to the next page.

Webby:

"Okay, got the cylinder thingy," Webby said, excited to see what happens next. Especially when she noticed the other pop-up that showed Dipper getting his cylinder.

[209]

Dipper:

With a showed picture, Dipper approaches his Totem lathe and pull out the Cruxite, placing it where it should be before returning to his computer and clicking on the next page.

Webby:

"That's one step done," Webby said.

"One step one from what?" Dewey asked. Making the girl duck look at him in disappointment, "oh right, meteor…"

[210]

Dipper:

As Dipper goes onto the next page, the machine starts to run with a loud noise, both Dipper and Mabel turn to see the machine making carves on the totem, resulting in the Cruxite becoming a totem. It has a pattern shape, but it was different compare to John's totem in the story.

Mabel approaches the device and pulls out the totem when it was done carving.

Webby:

"Okay, so the device turns that cylinder thing into a totem of some sort." Webby analyze the device. "Now we have to figure what we need to do with this."

[211]

Dipper:

"Why do I have a bad feeling about this," Dipper said when seeing the pesterlog saying that TT had disconnected.

Webby:

"Why do I have a bad feeling about this," Dewey said when seeing the pesterlog saying that TT had disconnected.

[212]

Dipper:

The next page showed TT lifting the bathtub and trapping the door.

Both the twins' eyes widened seeing this, knowing that this was a bad sign.

Webby:

"Wait… what happened?" Dewey asked.

"Oh right, TT has internet problems." Webby clear things up for the boy duck.

"Okay, a bummer to have those, remind me of when I used to live on Donald's boat."

[213]

Dipper:

"Now he stuck in his house and can't progress," Dipper said, before suddenly realizing something.

"Mabel check the timer, how much time do we have left?"

"Okay!" Mabel said going downstairs again.

Webby:

"This is a bit of a challenge for John Egbert," Webby scratched her chin, wondering how he's going to get out of this problem. Especially when the timer counts down.

[214]

Dipper:

The next page showed a different character in a different place, a girl with a hairband and a monster on her shirt.

"This must be TT," Dipper said, a little satisfied that he's going to see the other characters.

But it also means he would also see turntech, which caused him to imagine what he looks like. To him, he sees him as someone who tries to look cool. He could also see him wearing shades.

Webby:

The next page showed a different character in a different place, a girl with a hairband and a monster on her shirt.

"Now she looks fun." Webby smiled at the new creature.

"I like the girl's style already." Lena smiled, having a feeling that this girl might have much interest that she and Webby has.

[215]

Dipper:

"Whoever is writing these names are just insulting these people," Dipper comments when the name on TT was incorrect.

Webby:

"What's going on here?" Dewey asked.

"That's what I want to know." Webby said, just as confused as Dewey, "rude to call her a Flighty Broad."

[216]

Dipper:

"Now we know the identity of tentacletherapist," Dipper said, giving a note that TT's name is Rose Lalonde

Webby:

"Rose Lalonde" Webby read the name of the girl, "that's a nice name, better than calling her 'TT'."

[217]

Dipper:

Seeing Rose's room, Dipper was very surprised about who this girl was and her interest, with the interest in knitting and the things she has, he images her being an emo version of Mabel.

"Mabel… as an emo…" Dipper thought about the concept, "don't think that would happen…"

Webby:

"This girl like knitting and a fondness of monsters and strange creatures?" Webby smiled at the girl.

"Yeah… she's my kind of girl," Lena said, liking Rose as much as her best friend did. "though the knitting makes her stand out.

[218]

Dipper:

"Everyone has something to hide…" Dipper nervously laughed at her. Thinking about his private stuff that he's too nervous to talk about or show to others.

Webby:

"Ooh... a mystery to this girl," Webby said, now curious about the purple box.

"Webby, it's better to respect other people's privacy." Dewey pointed out, a little worried that Webby is becoming a creep.

"Right… sorry…"

[219]

Dipper:

"And of course whoever is writing this would give a gross suggestion." Dipper facepalms.

Webby:

"At least it didn't tell her to leave a surprise in the mailbox," Webby said. Recalling the title page.

"Wait, what?" Dewey was confused about what she said as he never saw the earlier.

[220]

Dipper:

"Keeping things hidden to hide embarrassing stuff once more." Dipper notice Rose hiding her private stuff, as he can see how much he can relate with her when he can't able to hide his private stuff from his sister.

Webby:

"Purple box and notebooks, surely she's hiding secrets." Webby was now more curious when mentioning books

"Don't you have a secret diary that you don't share with people?" Dewey raised a brow.

"I have journals for my adventures."

"And if people start reading your book?"

"Then they are in for a ride as they see my story…"

Dewey shugs, seeing this as 'Webby being Webby.'

[221]

Dipper:

Seeing the gif of Rose getting her violin, he noticed a couple of things, the colour of the sylladex and the name of the cards, calling them 'root cards'.

Already, he can tell that she has a different modus than John's.

Webby:

"Like John playing the piano, Rose plays the violin." Webby said, "they could be a musical duo."

"like how we are an adventuring duo, right?"

They both give themselves a high five as they enjoy the human emotion called friendship

[222]

Dipper:

Like John playing the piano, Dipper listens to Rose playing the violin.

The sound to him was was fast at the start, but smoothing as it goes on, showing a bit of Rose, telling that she likes to think fast, making quick moves before settling in. with her hiding away the boxes the books, it fits with the music.

Plus it was good music, not his kind, not like John's but still good.

Webby:

Both Webby and Dewey (and also Lena) listen to the violin, Webby smiled at the sound of the music, as it has a good sound to it, Lena also likes it as well, as it has that sound she likes when it comes to violin music. Even though musical music isn't her thing.

Dewey was bored from listening to the music, as he didn't have any interest in it.

"Can we skip to the next page please?" Dewey asked, "even the narrator knows this was a waste of time."

Not wanting to disappoint her friend, Webby click on the next hyperlink, which seems to go back to John.

[223]

Dipper:

"Of course…" Dipper said, expecting John to do something weird and pointless.

Webby:

"Okay, I take it back, go back to the violin instead of this!" Dewey regretted asking for the next page.

"I guess this is a movie thing that John likes." Webby notices the posters. "I want to see them, but I guess we won't have access to human movies."

[224]

Dipper:

"So, her modus works like a tree?" Dipper questions the logic of Rose's modus. Though it made him curious, and want to try something.

He goes onto the Pesterchum and pesters Webby.

Webby:

"So for this case, he places her stuff in alphabetical order?" Webby was curious about the new modus that works differently than John's.

But before she could think more. She suddenly got a pester notification from Dipper.

[OS-30]

- PinesDecipher [PD] began pestering GrandAdventureGirl [GA] -

PD: Webby, can you please reach something to something and think about captchaloging it, please

GA: …okay?

GA: why?

PD: Just do it.

- PinesDecipher [PD] stop pestering GrandAdventureGirl [GA] -

[OS-31]

This was a sudden and random request.

She set her mind towards a doll that she didn't like, hanging on a dark board. She decided to put out her hand and do what Dipper told her to do.

All of the sudden, the dark board, the doll and the dark that the doll was attached to suddenly disappeared.

Now she feels a 'Dart-Dartboard-Doll in her what feels like an inventory.

All while Dewey was a little shocked to see what his friend did.

"oh my gosh!" Webby smiled in glee, "I have an inventory system!"

"Okay, I'm a little confused…" Dewey interrupted his friend's excitement.

"Dipper has a captchalogue system, and I do too!" Webby explained, "and since Dipper has John's modus, I must have Rose's modus."

Hearing this, and knowing what he knows, he had a sudden concern towards this game and the story. But most importantly, how Webby seemed a little ignorant towards the red flags that he can notice.

Regardless, they continue to the next page

[225]

Dipper:

"Good idea," Dipper said, thinking about the solution for Rose's problem with her internet, "the higher and clearer places gives the stronger signals.

He did find it strange for Rose's mother to have her dead cat in a mausoleum. Telling him that her family might be rich.

Then again, his Grunkle Stan set up a funeral for his wax version of himself.

Webby:

"Poor cat." Webby feel sad when she read the part that Rose's cat passed away when she was young.

"at least the cat has a good burial… maybe a little too over-the-top…" Dewey comments.

[226]

Dipper:

"A strange system, but still better than John's" Dipper comments on how Rose's inventory works.

Webby:

"Guess I have to be careful when it comes to alphabetical orders," Webby said, "then again, it might auto-balance themselves"

[227]

Dipper:

"So I guess she's into like… Lovecraft or something?" Dipper said, "but not entirely, just… strange creatures…"

Webby:

"Always like to see a strange book. Even if it's written to summon the 'Zoologically Dubious', whatever that is…" Webby comments on the page.

[228]

Dipper:

"Okay, so based on how this modus works, that would mean she cannot pace an item that comes before 'G' unless the inventory auto corrects and swap the grimoire and the violin." Dipper tries to understand how the tree modus works.

Webby:

"It might be very useful… who knows" Webby shrugs, a little unsure about if it's useful, though would be good reading material.

[229]

Dipper:

"Oh no…" Dipper slams his head on his table, "it's like John's house with images of harlequins, but instead, it's with… wizards…"

Dipper hopes that the other kids don't have parents that have these images around the house when he gets to see them.

Webby:

"so Rose's mother like wizards?" Dewey said, a little confused, the same goes with Webby.

Lena looking at these images made her curious about Rose and how there are many signs that she and her mother has an interest in magic.

[230]

(Not much to say as the image and text is not much to react to)

[231]

Dipper:

"And like John's father, I guess Rose doesn't want to confront her mother," Dipper said.

Webby:

"Be super quiet, Rose," Webby whispered, liking how she's being sneaky while a storm reveals a figure.

That alone shook the ghost in the shadow realm, as it reminded her of someone she doesn't want to see ever again…

[232]

Dipper:

Dipper didn't have much to say, as it was usual sneaking around the house for the girl.

Webby:

"Quick on your feet and avoid any detection," Webby said, relieved that Rose sneaked past her mother. "like some of my training exercises with my granny!"

[233]

Dipper:

"Is there a reason why?" Dipper asked when it mentioned that Rose hasn't ventured into the observatory.

Webby:

"An observatory huh?" Webby scratch her chin, "the Lalondes seem to have interesting things going on with them…"

"But not as much as we do." Dewey reminded the duck girl.

[234]

Dipper:

Seeing the outside of Rose's house, Dipper was a little concerned. "that doesn't seem safe." He said

"Two minutes and forty seconds!" Mabel's voice was heard.

Oh right, he told her to check the timer.

"Thanks, Mabel," Dipper said as his sister join him in reading the story.

Better hurry to find out what to do next.

Webby:

"Her house seemed a little modern," Webby was a little surprised by the structure of the house, "not like Scrooge's, though he is very old and classy."

"Yeah, at least our house has railings." Dewey added, "That place looks like an accident can happen at any moment…"

[235]

Dipper:

Showing the observatory, Dipper wasn't so much surprised at how empty the place was.

However, this is what observatories should have, the lack of space and meant to be a place to look through the telescope,

Plus there isn't much to distract Rose. So she can quickly use the computer and not look at anything else other than the large telescope.

Webby:

"Okay, this place looks lame!" Dewey comments on the place, "the place is literally empty!"

"What about the telescope?" Webby pointed out. a little unsure about her friend's comment.

But either way, she was a little relieved, because it means there aren't any challenges for Rose to face.

However, this felt a little disappointing since she likes the thrill of danger.

[236]

Dipper:

For a little bit since he learned about Rose's fetch modus, he had a little feeling that it might do something bad that makes the modus a little challenging

And that came when Rose pulls out her computer, only for the rest of her stuff are pulled out as well.

This time, it wasn't by mistake, but rather how the modus works,

"So it does work as a tree…" Dipper muttered.

Webby:

"Wait, why did the rest of her stuff come out?" Dewey questions the image, "I thought she pulled out her laptop."

"I guess this is based on the modus she and I have." Webby tries to understand what's going on using logic. "my best guess is that like a tree, if you pull from the roots, then the tree dies. Meaning that everything else gets pulled. The computer starts as the root and the other stuff are leaves or branches. Which means I have to be careful when I get more stuff in my inventory."

Webby think more about the modus and look at her inventory, seeing that her Dartboard-Dart-Doll is her root card. But expect it to change when she gets more items.

[237]

Dipper:

"You really should be worried about that…" Dipper said.

Suddenly Dipper got a notification, not from Webby, but a new user, the orange one.

"Huh, a new chum," Dipper said, reading the name of the orange user.

'RogueofTime'

It was a strange name, but since they're pestering him, it's better to answer their call.

- RogueofTime [RT] began pestering PinesDecipher [PD]

PD: Glad to see another player entering this

PD: For a second I thought it's going to be me and Webby

PD: I'm Dipper by the way, what's yours? Did you also get this game from the mail?

PD: hello?

RT: sorry, just…

RT: just have many things off my chest before

PD: Why?

PD: We only just met

RT: For you maybe

RT: But for me, I know who you are Mason

A little shocked seeing his name from an unknown person who he just met. Even Mabel was surprised and she often calls her Dipper instead of his real name.

Dipper clicks on the next page, and continue talking with this new person.

Webby:

Seeing the second image, and like Rose, it brought unease for Dewey and Lena, while Webby was a little curious.

"Wait… she has small meteors falling too…" Dewey muttered, a little worried that this game has a connection to what's going on in their world.

"What the boy said… could it be possible that what's going on with Dipper and John's world, is it happening to ours as well?" Lena said her mind. But shook her head, don't want to fear for the worst.

[238]

Dipper:

Seeing that there isn't much to read or comment on, Dipper continue to talk to this 'RogueofTime'

PD: How do you know my real name?

RT: You told me,

RT: Or at least, will tell me, in the future…

PD: You need to explain more than just that.

RT: unfortunately, I don't have enough time to explain

RT: I suggest you keep looking at the story while I talk

RT: you only have less than three minutes left after all…

RT: and I only got less than two minutes before the final battle.

Dipper was still confused and unsure about this person, but since he doesn't have time left, he complies and clicks onto the next page.

Webby:

"no matter what internet you use, you need to connect back to the game!" Webby said, "Do it for John!"

[239]

Dipper:

"And she's back online!" Mabel raised her arms in celebration.

Dipper on the other hand wasn't sure about 'unsecured internet, but it was better than no internet.

PD: Alright, so let's assume that you are indeed from the future.

PD: And you know my name is a big indication that you know me well

PD: Why now in all moments.

PD: Why not talk about them when I meet you.

RT: Because you already know what I told you at this moment

RT: as the Rogue of Time, I have to ensure that our timeline has closed loops,

RT: if I told you later, it would cause a doomed timeline and it won't end well for you or your friends.

PD: I don't follow, why is it bad?

RT: you're not meant to understand, just listen to what I said

RT: I know it's confusing, but you'll understand later…

RT: Man, now I know how Karkat feel

PD: Who's Karkat?

RT: Right, that's later in the story, forget it…

Webby:

"And she's back online!" both Webby and Dewey raised their arms in celebration.

[240]

Dipper:

"Less than a minute for John…" Dipper thought, a little more worried about his timer.

He quickly read a little cross that Rose told John to be patient when the clock is ticking. Though found it interesting that the punch card is different from session to session, he didn't even consider looking at the image of his punch card.

With the page out of the way, he continues his conversation with this new person.

PD: So, what do you want to tell me then?

RT: since we started this session we had some good times together, the journey we have isn't easy and we're going to make a lot of sacrifices

RT: but no matter what happens, we are going to be together to claim our Ultimate Reward.

RT: it doesn't matter what the Witch and the Bard did, we will eventually forgive them.

RT: because we need them as much as they need us.

RT: remember this Mason, as it will help you down the line.

PD: Yeah.

PD: I completely don't know what you're talking about.

PD: it sounds like you're just making a lot of cryptic messages.

PD: why not just tell me what to…

PD: oh right, ensuring that the timeline is stable.

Webby:

"I wonder the importance of the punch card," Webby said, a little curious about how it's going to be made, she didn't even look at the image to know what it is or how it's going to work.

But she suspected that it's going to be different than an apple or an egg.

[241]

Dipper:

RT: you're already catching on

RT: and if I'm correct, you're on the part where Rose removed the door

PD: Yeah, why?

RT: good

RT: get to the Alchemiter and enter

RT: this will be your first and my last conversation with you online

RT: I have one last thing to do before the battle

PD: Wait,

PD: Before you go

PD: Who are you?

RT: heh

RT: see you in the medium

- RogueofTime [RT] stop pestering PinesDecipher [PD]

With the new person stop pestering and the clock ticking, Dipper click onto the new page, before he grabbed his phone and ran downstairs, Mabel following behind him

Webby:

"Let's hope we don't get any other modifications…" Webby said, a little shaken, but excited to see someone in danger and trying to stop the danger in a very short time.

Two of them. As she goes down to the device with the timer, now ticking to its last minute

[242]

Dipper:

Dipper finds the page pointless, not showing a lot, so he clicked onto the next page, not before tripping at the last step.

0:30

Webby:

"it might be back, but the plumbing isn't going to work," Dewey commented with Webby nodding.

[243]

Dipper:

Dipper continues to run through the hallway, ignoring the image and clicking to the next page.

"Wait up, Dipper!" Mabel shouted, which caught the attention of everyone else as they follow the twins to where they're going.

0:25

Webby:

"Oh right, the block!" Webby said, going to the Alchemiter and notice the block on top of the Alchemiter where the yellow block was still on top of the device.

"Better remove it." She said as she used the mouse to click on the device and throw it away,

Unintentionally hitting a certain pig into a strange object.

[244]

Dipper:

Dipper arrives at the Alchemiter and placed his totem onto where it's supposed to be.

He goes back onto the phone and notices that Rose removed blocks for the device to work, a little glad that Webby did the same for him.

The gnome-kernelsprite was also present, constantly blinking.

"Okay, what happens now…"

0:20

Webby:

"Oh… I can simply do that" Webby looked at the image, "didn't know that, my bad."

Regardless, Webby smiles at the intense scene, seeing Dipper placing the totem on the Alchemiter and waiting for something to happen.

[245]

Dipper:

Before Dipper could finish, the Alchemiter pops out a blue and pink box that spat out a blue and pink item. He looked at the phone and see that John has an apple-like punch card.

His was a Christmas cracker.

"I guess… I have to use it" Dipper said, looking at Mabel knowing how the cracker works, using it would be a two-person job.

"Great, I love those." Mabel smiled, as the twins step towards the item and grabbed at each end.

0:10

Webby:

And indeed, something happens, John gotten an apple and Dipper gotten a Christmas cracker.

"So, all they need to do is open up the cracker and they'll be saved from the meteor." Webby tries to understand the situation, "and for John to bite his apple."

"That sounds a little too easy if you ask me," Dewey said, having some sort of suspicion on what would happen after John bite his apple and Dipper opens his cracker.

Before Dipper grabbed the cracker, he pressed onto the next scene and Webby did the same, now seeing the moment they've been waiting for…

[246 and OS-32]

Dipper and Mabel grabbed hold of each end of the Christmas Cracker, with only ten seconds to go.

0:10

They start pulling.

0:09

The cracker was hard to pull.

0:08

Instead of trying to break the cracker, it ended up as a tug of war.

0:07

The ground begins to shake.

0:06

Everyone tries to keep their balance, Soos and Pacifica landed on the floor while Stan holds onto the railings.

0:05

"Come on!" Dipper shouted

0:04

"Pull!"

0:03

"I'm trying!" Mabel shouted as they give everything they got.

0:02

And in the end, with all their strength, the cracker breaks, Mabel has the bigger side of the cracker.

0:01

They both landed on the ground as everything lights up and begin to shake.

0:00

On Webby's end, she witnesses both John's scene and Dipper's scene, and both ended badly, as pop-up show the game is static and the other shows a big explosion

Webby, Dewey and Lena stared at the screen in the complete blank for a minute before they snap back to reality and Webby click onto the next page to see what happens next

Now she's a little worried about her new friend.

[246]

Webby:

The next page showed the image before curtains close with the words 'END OF ACT 1' a huge indication that this was only the beginning.

She looked back at Dipper's side, noticing that the screen went black.

In a bit of fear, Webby goes onto the Pesterchum and try to pester Dipper

- GrandAdventureGirl [GA] began pestering PinesDecipher [PD] –

GA: Dipper!

GA: Dipper are you there?!

GA: Are you okay…

No response.

Webby heart ached for the moment, a little worried that her newfound friend is actually dead and they weren't successful in stopping the meteor.

She starts to have tears of sadness in her eyes.

"Did… did we lose?" she muttered.

But suddenly, there were words on the black screen.

'TRANSFER COMPLETE, PRESS ENTER TO CONTINUE.'

Wiping her tears, Webby pressed enter, having a glimmer of hope that Dipper might be okay, since the words did say complete, meaning that she didn't fail, it worked properly.

She doesn't know if it's a bad thing or a good thing, but either way, today is going to be a long day for her and this was just the beginning of a grand adventure that will change her and her new friends.
