Remember:"talking" 'thinking' Satan talking "Demon Side Talking"
~Yukio's POV~
"You see, students! When two demons love each other very much, they're going to try to ma-~!"
"Pheles!" Anri and Yukio had opened the door to the infirmary to find Mephisto trying to explain the earlier situation with the demonic version of The Birds and The Bees talk. "That's enough of that!" Yukio growled, pissed enough to shoot the clown with a purple fireball and knock him on his face.
The headmaster, of course, just laughed in amusement as he hopped to his feet.
"Perfect timing, Sensei~! Students! Your teacher shall take it from here~!" Mephisto smirked, dodging the fireballs in a variety of annoying poses. "Einz! Swei! Drei~!"
The esquires sweat-dropped at their principal before looking to their obviously flustered teacher.
"Hmph," Yukio cleared his throat, adjusting his glasses. "Well then. I suppose you all have some questions…" he said, trying to keep his composure despite knowing his face was red. He twitched, however, when everyone started talking at once.
"What happened?"
"Is Shiemi going to be okay?"
"What's wrong with Okumara?"
"Are we going to be killed?"
"Is the Vatican-"
Yukio felt Anri move to stand next to him as her pinched the bridge of his nose, his migraine returning with each question. 'Forget being proud of them. Fucking annoying. Maybe I should just-'
Yukio was massaging his temples in annoyance when suddenly silence fell across the infirmary. He could feel the calm in the air and looked at Anri, whose eyes were glowing a moon-like silver. He then looked at his students, who had their eyes closed in contentment. 'Is it okay to let her do this…?' Yukio briefly thought before the calm lifted and everyone sighed.
Anri yawned loudly, "Man… I'm rusty. I haven't used my powers this much in one day in a long time."
Yukio looked back at his students, who looked guilty for their outburst, but ready to listen now. He decided to let the demonic interference slide. "Thank you, Anri, for your help. You are welcome to rest now. I should be able to handle the rest," he nodded in thanks.
Anri yawned and was flopped in another infirmary bed asleep by the time he was done talking.
Yukio sighed before turning his attention back to his students, "Alright. I know you're all a bit freaked out by the events that just transpired, so let me explain it simply, and then you can ask questions on what you don't get, okay?" He continues when he received nods. "So, as you all know, Nii-san and I have both awakened our demon sides and powers. Much like Nii-san practicing with the candles, I have also been practicing, and we have both been learning more about our other half-siblings. One of the things we have learned is that Satan only has seven children at a time that each control one of the seven deadly sins…I'm not allowed to out the others' sins apparently, and I don't feel you need to know mine." Yukio's eyes flashed purple on the last part, meaning he was looking down on them. "Rin's though, you need to know in order for me to explain the situation. He is Lust. Each Sin apparently has their own powers, and Rin's include mind reading, mind control, seeing peoples' connections to each other and their soulmates, and pheromones." Yukio explained this while looking at the student each power was used on and watched at the metaphorical light went on for each.
He sees Konekomaru,Shima, and Izumo turn red when he mentions the last part, and internally laughs. 'That was fairly obvious before Rin even got these powers. Honestly, try to keep up.' On the other hand, though, he notices Bon is trembling and quickly realizes it's out of rage as he hears growling. 'Should I..-'
"There are also a few other powers that Rin has," Yukio decides to continue, "but they are irrelevant to the current situation. With all these helpful powers, I'm going to assume that this is the universe's balance, in that the Lust clan is where the vampire myths come from. That is why he went psychotic at the sight and smell of human blood. Memories taken from Kimiko by Anri show that he was using his powers, presumably mind reading and connected powers, on Shiemi. He probably saw something surprising, which caused his outburst, which made Kimiko drop her knife that Shiemi handed back by the blade," he paused as Izumo, Shima, and Bon simultaneously face palmed, "and cut herself. I am sure you can figure out the rest from there."
Yukio finished explaining the situation before looking at his students. "Questions?" He looked at their mildly shocked expressions as he let all the information sink in.
Izumo was the first to seem to collect herself and raise her hand. "Yes, Izumo?"
"So, Okumara is basically a vampire to add to being a demon?" she asked as a lead.
"Simply speaking, yes," Yukio nodded.
"Don't vampires typically drink human blood? Did Okumara attack you because you're half-human, or is there another reason that has to do with Pheles-sensei trying to give us a demonic 'birds and bees' and Okumara molesting you against the chalkboard?"
Yukio stayed stone-faced even as his ear reddened, and he saw the corner of Izumo's mouth twitch as she tried to keep the good student act despite what he knows she reads. 'Damn Ms. Perceptive,' he internally growled while he cast a cackling Shima a death glare, effectively shutting the pinkette up.
"The other sins and Satan believe me being half-human may be a factor, but Rin also being a half-human could be a factor as well. They think he may crave, and be able to gain nutrients from, both demon and human blood, so he went after the mixture when offered. As for Pheles, he is simply an idiot," Yukio answered, disregarding the last part. "Next question?"
Bon raised his hand, not even waiting to be acknowledged. "Why didn't you tell us Okumara might do this? Why didn't you prepare us?" he half-growled in question.
"Well,…they thought that since he's half that if he didn't feed, as they called it, he wouldn't get cravings, so we all decided to keep him oblivious so curiosity and his newly-enlarged ego wouldn't kill the cat."
"But why not tell us?! We deserve to know! It's our lives at risk!"
Yukio's eyes flashed purple at his student's almost-challenge, "You humans are not worthy of that informa-!" Yukio brought himself back with a shake of his head, and glanced up at them with minor guilt but mostly suspicion. All of his students, minus Shiemi of course, stared at him in shock.
"Your eyes-…" Konekomaru started.
"What was that?" Shima decided to finish.
'Dammit,' Yukio thought, looking away as though uninterested, 'I didn't mean for them to meet him.' Yukio simply cleared his throat now. "What I meant was we didn't want someone freaking out and telling the Vatican in case they decided that makes him too much of a risk and kill him since vampires are considered High-Risk demons."
His students fell silent once more, and Yukio became confused when their shock and fear turned into hurt –or in Bon's case more rage.
"Do you not trust us?" Konekomaru asked sadly.
"Coming from the one who was possessed from- Dammit! Shut up you! Not you guys!" Yukio's demon side tried rearing again before Yukio silenced him again, trying to reassure his students after.
"It's not that you're not trusted, it's just that the other sins and Satan said demons as bad as the High Level as the Impure King could come after you all, thinking their Clan Leader is at risk."
"Clan Leader? Is that what the sins are called? Clans?" Shima asked. He then huffed when everyone looked at him in shock as a response. "What?! I've been paying attention! Anyway," looking back to Yukio, "is it?"
Yukio nodded, as shocked as his students at Shima. "Yes…you're righ-Wow, playboy got something righ-I swear to god if you don't stay down I will exorcise you myself!" Yukio snarled.
"Okay, what the hell is that?!" Shima yelled in outrage. "Your voice has gone deep and cocky three times since you woke up, and your eyes flash purple!" Shima growled, clearly insulted.
'…Shit…' Yukio visibly winced.
"Umm…" he actually stumbled, debating whether to tell them.
You can tell them about your demon sides. It could actually help you know~, Satan butted into Yukio's thoughts.
'…How?' not rejecting Satan's help for once.
Well, Ren, as Rin has taken to calling him, did play a part. Maybe it will take some of the heat off of Rin, and they'll blame him less.
'They would also start looking down on me though for letting mine take over three times already,' was Yukio's immediate response.
Yukio could practically hear Satan's eye roll, I don't even think that was from Pride. You were born for this Sin, weren't you? Suck it up or they'll lose more trust! Satan sighed.
'…Grrr! I hate when you people have a point! Fine!'
"Fine…" Yukio sighed as he ignored Satan's fading cackling. "So, one of the other parts of the demon powers and being a Clan Leader is a demon side which seems to be a combination of previous Clan Leaders. My theory is this is so transfer of power goes smoothly, but it's a damn nuisance. Mine usually isn't vocal, but for some reason, he insist on being heard today, and I seem to be having more trouble than usual controlling him. Rin's feeding and Anri's demonic painkillers probably weakened my mental walls a bit so he's taking the opportunity to…speak his mind. Obviously, he doesn't think highly of humans."
"So you're more bipolar than usual now?" Shima smirked, causing laughter from his classmates.
Only one of Yukio's eyes turned purple this time as both he and his demon side somehow managed to talk at once.
"I am not bipolar!" Yukio growled, at the same time as, "We are not bipolar! Know your place, insolent human!"
His students just stared at him in amazement.
"You can both talk at once," Konekomaru gasped.
Yukio was as shocked as them but recomposed himself rather than showing it. "It would appear so."
"Ooh! Are you Wrath?" Shima asked in excitement.
Yukio made a face of obvious disgust, "Don't lump me in with that imbecile!" He muttered, only making Shima smirk.
"That wasn't even the other voice," the pinkette laughed. "Pride," he decided.
"Any intelligent questions?" Yukio growls, choosing to ignore Shima.
Izumo raised her hand again.
"Yes, Izumo?" Yukio acknowledged.
"So, Okumara has a demon side, too?"
Yukio nodded, thankful she caught on, "Yes."
"Did his play apart in Okumara's outburst?"
'Thank you, Izumo!' "We believe so. We believe his actually took over during the incident."
"So it's actually not entirely Okumara's fault then?" Shima asked.
"That's the conclusion we have come to, and we hope you can all come-"
"How is it not his fault?!" Bon cut in, drawing a death glare from Yukio, "He was using powers he didn't need to be using, used them on a classmate, and attacked us because of it! I could forgive him during the Amaimon battle because he lost control trying to save us from your psychotic demonic half-sibling, but he had no reason this time! No defense!" Bon growled out, successfully killing the hopeful mood that had started to build.
'Damn punk,' Yukio glared at Bon, 'I almost had them.'
"As I already covered, though, he was not fully in control." Yukio tried to remind the monk, "He did not intend to hurt anyone, and I'm sure he's going to be swimming in guilt anyway when he wakes up and-"
"Good! He deserves to feel horrible! Do you honestly expect us to sit back and forgive what he did to Shiemi?! Hell, we should turn him to the Vatican for-"
"Suguro Ryuji!" Yukio glowered, using Bon's full name with a deadly dark purple aura. He was tired, frustrated, weak, and did not have the patience to hold his demonic side back. If the other students weren't here Bon might've just seen his full demon, "Interrupt me one more time, and you're going to wish you were the one Rin knocked in the fire," Yukio growled, with a gleam in his glasses.
"No, I do not expect you to forgive him," he continued when his students were scared shitless, and he knew he wasn't going to be interrupted. "I hope you can find it in you to remember all he has done for you and try to at least start forgiving, or at the very least tolerating, him again. As one of my powers I could force you, but" he emphasized when he saw more fear than desired, "I won't. That is your decision to make."
Yukio finished his rather threatening plea and looked at his students. They sat silent for some time, each in thought as they considered the new information.
"Thankfully," Yukio sighed after a while, "it is Friday, so you have the weekend to think everything over. For now, I suggest we give Shiemi some time and space to recover, so if you could go to your dorms, the nurses can tend to her. We'll contact everyone when she wakes up," he says solemnly as he begins to herd his students out of the infirmary.
"Um..Okumara-sensei?" asked a small voice.
Yukio looked back to Shiemi's bed where Konekomaru was fidgeting in a chair beside it, "Yes, Konekomaru?"
"…."
"What is it?" Yukio sighs, desperately wanting to go to bed as he heeves the still sleeping Anri over his shoulder, before repositioning her to a gentler princess style.
The monk winces despite Yukio's gentler tone but sighs to gather his courage. "C-can I…Can I stay with her?" he asks before immediately lowering his head.
"…" 'He's scared to even ask. As a teacher, I shouldn't, but they've been through a lot.' Yukio considers for a moment before nodding to himself, and using his lie detector powers. "You won't try anything?"
"Of course not!" the monk answers earnestly, his face turning red at the very thought.
Yukio didn't feel the signs of lying, "Alright. The barriers around the school should protect her, but I'll let you stay as an extra form…or that's what I'll tell the other faculty if they ask."
Konekomaru smiled before bowing, "Thank you, sensei!"
Yukio nods, "Now try to get some rest." He said on his way out, 'We're going to need it.'
Well, that's Chapter 17. I don't have much to say, but I hope you enjoyed! I'm gonna be starting Chapter 18 soon, but I might upload a MarshBall fanfic I've been working on first. What do you think? Anyway, thank you for reading!
