Hey there once again! Sorry for that later than usual chapter, got really sick but thankfully recovering. Again thank you all so much for the support, because WE JUST HIT 200 FAVOURITES BAYBEEEEEEE! Got a whole BUNCH of reviews this time around, and I don't want to overinflate the chapter... so I'll unfortunately have to forgo direct responses for this chapter. However, I will try to answer the general themes of the majority of reviews.
So... Jaune. Allow me to be clear with something: he, by all logical accounts, should've died after he was launched into the Emerald Forest. Blind luck and being carried by everyone else was the only way he really made it through to get into Beacon. I have no doubt that Ozpin knew about his transcripts and let him in based on his family name and his potential, but the point still stands, he had not truly faced and understood the consequences of his decision to put in the bare minimum effort until after Pyrrha died. Somebody needed to bring the cold hard truth straight to his face, and who better to do it than Ruby? He by all means has potential as a character, but he NEEDS to understand what he's done. And... I'm actually surprised at the positive reception of this from you guys! I'm really happy that I managed to get that point across without having made it seem like unnecessary Jaune-bashing. To be honest though, the original script had Ruby beating him within a literal inch of his life, but I thought that may have been too much so here we are.
Now with that said, onto the show!
Fighting Rose
Chapter 13
Tumbling down
The following handful of weeks for team RWBY had been… tense. There was a rift, a notable tension between Ruby and Pyrrha steadily growing. Pyrrha herself tried to appeal to the younger girl to no avail, and that was to say nothing about the relationship between Ruby and Jaune. She would either sit as far away from him as possible, or if she was put in a particularly bad mood my the fact that he existed, she would sit directly in front of him, staring directly into his eyes as they ate. Needless to say, this scared the living crap out of Jaune while greatly annoying Pyrrha in the process.
Which is what had happened as of a few hours ago.
…
"Ruby…" Pyrrha half ground-out, half pleaded for Jaune's sake.
"No." The girl in red said simply, biting right down on a chicken leg, right through the bone with a deafening crunch that made Jaune flinch. "Besiiides," Ruby drawled, mercilessly crunching down on the meat and bone without even blinking, much to the horror of everyone sitting at the table. "Why would I listen to someone who sides with this dweeb?"
"Ruby, please." Pyrrha snapped, her expression hardening.
Ruby glared right back at her for a moment, though she could feel the genuine worry and pleading radiating off of Pyrrha. Ruby sighed and looked down, muttering "Sorry", much to the relief of everyone, Jaune then making the poor choice of sighing as a sign of his own relief. Ruby instantly snarled and rounded on him, clenching her fork so hard that the metal snapped and went flying off elsewhere.
"You'd better keep your mouth shut," She snapped, "My respect for Pyrrha is one of the reasons I haven't beaten you within an inch of your life."
Even if words were not exchanged afterwards, that tension still remained. Obviously.
…
'But thanks to my flawless stratagem, we'll all now have the chance to let our hair down and get Ruby to relax a bit, all while… examining the new arrivals!' Weiss thought triumphantly as they stepped onto the streets of Vale, 'Truly, I'm a genius.'
"You're doing that 'I'm a genius' face again," Ruby chuckled lowly, startling and embarrassing Weiss.
"I-I am not!" She replied haughtily, only to get raised eyebrow from the younger girl. "… I hate this game of emotions we play."
"Mm, only cuz' you're losing," Ruby shot back with a small smile. Weiss 'humph'-ed, though it pleased her to see Ruby falling back to her usual self, if only somewhat. "Really though, why the Port of Vale specifically?"
"Well, because the Vytal Festival is soon to begin!" Weiss said with stars in her eyes, the four girls rounding the corner and reaching the main port. Already, posters and banners were being put up, a few other decorations beginning to line some of the streets. "Already you can see the beginnings of the festival! Ooh, I can just imagine the different cultures, the wonderful cuisines, the meticulous planning and dedication from each and every person in Vale all coming together in order to celebrate such a momentous occasion – nay, global tradition!"
"Pfft, nerd," Yang snickered, the half-hearted glare Weiss sending her way only serving to make her laugh. Still, Weiss' apparent good mood could not be swayed by Yang's own teasing this time as they made their way to the docks.
"…Smells like fish," Ruby grimaced a bit, though had to fight the urge to laugh as she saw Blake's eyes dilate the moment she took a sniff. "Really though, why here?"
"W-well…" Weiss stammered before posturing, "As representatives of Beacon Academy, I think that it is our duty to welcome the students arriving from the other Hunter Academies."
"A.k.a, you want to scope out the competition for an early advantage," Blake said with a smirk, Weiss trying to sputter out some poor excuse. Yang stopped paying attention, noticing a small gathering of people around what looked to be a police investigation.
"Ruby," She said as she nudged her and pointed at the scene, Ruby instantly walking towards it alongside her sister. Blake and Weiss were quick to notice their teammates walking off and caught up to them, managing to push through the small crowd of people and see the damage done to a small-time dust shop.
"Hey, uh," Ruby spoke up to one of the officers at the scene, "What happened here?"
"Dust shop robbery," One of them sighed, "Second one this week. Left the money again too. Who even needs that much dust?"
"…You thinkin' what I'm thinkin'? Maybe… White Fang?" One of them said, snapping his suspenders.
"I'm thinkin' we don't get paid enough!" The other scoffed as they both walked off.
Weiss was quick to scoff herself, turning to face the rest of the team with a disgusted look on her face.
"Hmph, the White Fang," Weiss snipped, "What a bunch of degenerates."
"I beg your pardon?" Blake said, leaning in with a dangerous look in her eye, though Weiss herself didn't flinch.
"You heard me!" Weiss shot back fearlessly. "I have nothing positive to say about that rag-tag cesspit of the criminally insane."
"Of course you don't have anything to say. Besides, the White Fang are certainly not criminally insane, just misguided!"
"…They want to wipe humanity off the face of the planet," Weiss deadpanned.
"Okay, so they're extremely misguided," Blake ground out, "But that still has nothing to do with you instantly associating them with a robbery like this."
"Hm." Both of them turned to Yang and Ruby, seemingly silently communicating with each other for a moment. "…I never caught Torchwick," Ruby started, "So he's a prime suspect."
"True, but the most we've ever seen him muster is about twenty or twenty-five men," Yang pointed out. "He may be the biggest crime-Boss in Vale, but that's because he works by not rallying big forces."
"Which means it'd be really hard if not impossible for him to rob so many dust-shops in rapid succession," Ruby agreed, "… still, he is on the loose and still does dust-robberies. With him running at least part of the thefts, the only other major group that could pull this off and might have an actual use for that amount of dust in relation to their size…" Ruby wilted and flicked an apologetic look at Blake, calming the girl down somewhat while Weiss puffing up in pride only served to further incense her.
"Exactly, Ruby understands just as well as I do!" Weiss said, "All those Faunus are capable of is lying, cheating, and stealing!"
"Ain't humans enslaved them in the very recent past?" Yang asked with a raised brow, Weiss wilting a bit. "Besides, that's not really true and you know it. It's like you're saying all Faunus are thieves."
"Hey, stop that thieving Faunus!"
Weiss raised a brow and smirked while Yang only sighed in frustration before they all took off, Ruby naturally pulling ahead of them to reach the docks first. A Mistralian ship had pulled in quite some time back, but right on the deck was a monkey-Faunus dressed in a white jacket and loose jean-shorts, sprinting across with a massive grin on his handsome face.
'He doesn't look like White Fang, probably a Haven student…' Ruby thought, though her eyes widened a bit when she felt… something from him. As soon as he reached the edge of the ship, he grinned wider and saluted the crewmembers chasing after him.
"Thanks for the ride guys!" He laughed before he… jumped. Very high and very far, easily clearing fifty feet in a single go and landing with little effort. That feeling in the air was even more potent in that one instant, though it faded just as quickly. He went about pulling out a banana and eating it while hanging upside down from a lamppost, arguing with the crewmates about the specifics of being a stowaway for whatever reason. Spotting the two officers from before trying to accost him, he was just as quick to drop the banana-peel on his face and launch himself all the way onto the boardwalk, his usual grin on his face as he ran past team RWBY.
There was a brief moment where he threw a quick wink at Blake, startling the girl before he felt a presence, his teal eyes meeting curious silver ones. He almost faltered a bit, though kept his shockingly fast run steady.
"Well… there goes the competition," Yang said.
"Quick, after him-!" Weiss started, only for Ruby to already blast off in a burst of petals. She turned a corner, shocked that he'd already gained so much distance he laughed and whooped as he easily hopped off of wall to wall, eventually disappearing over a roof. Something compelled Ruby to follow him, the memory of his aura spiking still fresh in her mind as she shot straight up with her Semblance, smoothly landing with a roll.
"Whoa! Can't say I thought you'd follow me up here," The boy said with his usual grin, "But it's a pretty pleasant surprise nonetheless. Y'know, I'd prefer if you didn't arrest me, I was coming here from Haven anyway, so who cares if I took the early boat out?"
Ruby stood up, brushing herself off as she stared hard at the boy. Looking closer, he was certainly very handsome with a slightly carefree and roguish flare. He certainly didn't hide the fruits of his training, tanned skin complementing his sculpted abs and chiselled chest, his legs perfectly balanced with well-sized muscles one his calves and thighs. As nice as they looked, that wasn't Ruby's focus. "You… you did something with your aura back there."
That made Sun pause, his eyebrows going up. "You… felt that?"
"Yeah."
His grin was still there, but there was something else bubbling up, one that Ruby now fully understood. She'd seen it from her sister whenever they fought in Signal, and from Pyrrha whenever their blood ran hot. More importantly, she felt it from herself: the desire to fight.
"You gotta be pretty good if you're able to feel out aura," The boy said as they took a step closer for each other. "Far as I know, my family are the only people I know who can do stuff like that. Still though, you look a bit young to know that kinda stuff."
"I'm fifteen," She nodded, grinning back, "But I'm in Beacon."
"…so you are good," Sun said, the feeling in the air growing stronger and Ruby itching to respond. "…but just how good are ya?"
Ruby sighed, though she couldn't shake the feeling of her blood thrumming through her veins. It had been a… difficult couple of weeks. She'd have to thank Weiss later for giving her the opportunity to let off some steam.
"Haaah…" Ruby sighed ruefully before she sharply looked up at the boy, both fists clenching at the same time as his own. "SHA!"
Her right hand shot out in a razor-sharp jab, just barely brushing past his cheek as he slipped, his elbow slashing at where her ribs once were. A deft back step led into a whirling hook-kick right for his jaw, yet he completely relaxed and yanked his head away with ease, a cartwheel letting him gain some distance on her. He gasped as she'd already closed it, a chopping roundhouse racing right for his temple. He sharply blocked with his red gauntlets, though the impact made his arms go numb, yet he just smiled wider.
Springing onto a balled-up handstand, he whooped as he suddenly shot both feet straight up for Ruby's chin, though she too made a sharp slip before diving right in with a vicious punch at his rising face. He just laughed and smoothly bat it out of the way with his wrist, flipping mid-air and landing on his feet.
"Wow, you're real good!" He applauded, though Ruby didn't give him time for anymore praise. He didn't mind as they both shot right towards each other, their forearms clashing in a burst of wind. They strained against each other, Ruby's own grin fully resurfacing, though something about it seemed more sinister.
'Finally, someone else who's worthy! Not that scum-sucking blonde whimp, now this is a REAL warrior!' Naturally bigger and stronger, he started to push her back with her boots grinding against the concrete. She shoved right back for a brief moment, forcing him to push back harder: exactly what she wanted. With a touch of her semblance, she 'Tricked' backwards and drew her left hand back, aura pooling into it. Though kicks were here favourite and best tools for striking, she had to admit, there was something satisfying about feeling her knuckles sting.
"Crescent Bullet!"
"Rock!"
Her knuckles slammed into what felt like a fortress wall, brilliant pain lancing up her arm and through her bones as the boy set his feet in a deep stance and shot his own left-fist forward. The stun of the impact left her wide open as he playfully held her wrist with his index and middle finger.
"Scissors!"
He twisted and her world blurred she felt herself brought to her knees, his seemingly useless grip as strong as steel before he twisted again and brought her straight off her feet in an attempt to throw her onto her back. She grunted and sharply twisted her body with her semblance to land on her feet and facing the boy, his free hand in an open palm drawn back. She moved to block, those froze for a moment as she suddenly felt like she was facing down a massive beast, raw power threatening to burst from the boy as his eyes suddenly turned a shade of stark yellow.
'GOOD!'
She poured all of the weeks of her frustration and rage into her arm, her Aura Circuits lighting up violently under her skin.
"PAPER!"
"CRESCENT BULLET!"
There was a deafening *BANG* as knuckles met flesh, a flash of yellow and red smashing into each other atop the roof. They stood there for a moment, panting a bit as their auras faded and the boy's eyes returned to its original teal colour.
"Really went for the kill there red," The boy laughed, relaxing as he stepped back.
"Oh…" She realized she'd lost control of her emotions yet again, her face turning red, "I-I'm so sorry! I-I've just been so wound up for the past while and y-you looked really strong and I wanted to let off some steam-!"
"Hey-hey, chillax!" The boy laughed good-naturedly, "I don't judge. Besides, being locked up in that ship got me all cramped, so this was a pretty good stretch." He extended an open hand, an easy going smile on his face. "Name's Sun. Sun Wukong."
"Ruby Rose-" She started raising her arm to shake his hand, only for her to cry out and begin to fall to a knee as pain spiked through her arm.
"Whoa!" Sun was quick to dash in, gently catching her and easing her into a sitting position. "Overclocked your arm huh? Hold still, I'm not good at this stuff." He narrowed his eyes and placed his hands on her arm, Ruby suddenly blushing again as a number of strange sensations hit her at once. With his open white jacket, she could see his sculpted torso, chiselled abs and supple chestall the more vividly. The callouses of his fingers told her he used some kind of melee weapon. And the warm, soft aura soothing her pain like sunlight and mending her abused limb. It was slower than Blake's own healing, but it did the job nonetheless.
"How's that?" He asked, the grin gone from his face.
"I-It's fine… great actually!" Ruby said after a moment, flexing her arm. "Thanks Sun."
"Heh, don't mention it," The grin was back and it made Ruby stare for a moment, unable to draw her eyes away. "Welp, I'll probably be hiding from the cops for a bit longer, can't stay in one spot until my team gets here! Really fun meetin' ya, get the feeling that we'll see each other soon."
"… yeah…" Ruby said with a smile back, "Yeah, I think so too."
Sun was quick to do a fancy couple of flips back to the edge of the roof, standing on it and pausing. "Oh, and you should totally relax more," He said, "Looks good on ya! Peace out Ruby!" With that, he did another backflip onto the other roof, constantly vaulting across them until he was out of sight. Ruby stared at her arm for a moment, her hand warm, her cheeks tingling, and mouth stretched into an actual smile.
"… he's pretty cool." She shook her head, sighing and focusing again. "I'll tell the gang that everything was a false alarm." Idly hopping off the roof, she found the rest of her team not long after, being accosted by a strange orange-haired girl dressed shades of green, black and white. "Hey guys, what's-?" Ruby started, only for her to freeze again.
'Again? That's twice now that I've run into odd people!'
The girl's aura was certainly there, and rather potent all things considered. Yet compared to the mix of emotions that she would've normally felt from people, this girl's emotions seems incredibly… flat. Not that they weren't genuine, rather that there was literally nothing else but a singular emotion coming off of her.
"H-hey look, my sister's back!" Yang pointed out, clearly uncomfortable at how unapologetically forward the girl was being. Said girl was sharp to turn and face Ruby, her gaze like that of a curious puppy with green eyes almost shining.
"Hello there! My name is Penny Poledina. What is your name?"
"U-um… hi." Ruby straightened herself. "I'm Ruby Rose. How did you run into my teammates?"
"Oh, I did not run into your teammates," Penny said, utterly straightforward, "Your teammates ran into me! It was quite surprising."
Weiss turned beet red at the mention while Ruby giggled, a bit more relaxed at the odd situations coming at her left and right.
"Well, I apologize for my teammate's clumsiness. We've gotta get going and it was really nice meeting you, friend." She walked past her while patting her shoulder, only for Penny to zip right back in front of her, joy clearly written across her face and soul.
"Do you mean that!? Am I really your friend?"
Though it caught Ruby off guard again, she couldn't help but frown a bit at the shining hope coming from her. Why would this girl have the need to feel so much hope at the prospect of making a friend? She ignored the pointed 'no' that was coming from the rest of her team and smiled, holding out a hand.
"Yeah. I'd be happy to be your friend."
"Sensational!" Penny cheered, the raw joy exuding from her making Ruby chuckle a bit.
"Dismal," Yang muttered, only to get promptly elbowed in the ribs by Blake.
"I cannot wait to try on nice clothes, and paint nails, and talk about cute boys!" She continued to cheer while Ruby held back her laughter.
"So uh, what brings you to Vale?" Ruby asked, "You don't exactly dress in Valian clothing…"
"I am designated to fight in the Vytal Festival Tournament," She answered honestly, much to the surprise of Weiss.
"You'll have to forgive me, but you don't exactly look the part."
"Aren't you wearing a skirt?" Blake asked with a raised brow.
"Combat skirt," Both Ruby and Weiss corrected, sharing a grin and a strong high-five. "Besides, looks and be deceiving, right?" Both Blake and Ruby picked up on Penny suddenly widening her eyes, her throat bobbing as she covered her mouth, though not in time to cover a small hiccup.
"Speaking of deceiving," Weiss turned to Ruby, "Did you manage to catch him?"
"Him…?" Ruby started, confused for a moment.
"That filthy Faunus stowaway!" She shouted, suddenly bringing out a crudely drawn picture of Sun.
"Oh my god Weiss why did you put it like that?" Ruby muttered as she felt Blake's seething anger rise and boil over. She shot a look at Blake, pleading for her to hold for just a moment, though it seemed Blake would snap regardless, almost completely ignoring her pleading and struggling to get out of Yang's attempt to hold her back, and Ruby felt something within herself crack a bit. 'Fine.'
She slightly bared her teeth as her hair started to rise and sway, her frustration and anger bursting from her body in a quick wave. It made Weiss's hair stand on edge and Blake flinch back in surprise. Ruby quickly calmed herself down and sent an apologetic nod to Blake, the older girl reining her emotions in for the time being and nodding back, Yang letting go of her shoulder.
"Weiss, that was a student from Haven. Yes, I managed to catch up to him, and yes, I let him get away, because you need to get it through your head that not every Faunus is in the White Fang." Weiss looked down, seemingly cowed by Ruby's sharpness as the younger girl sighed and turned to Blake. "…I've put this off for too long. Let's back to our dorm so you two can just hurry up and settle your differences, I don't wanna have to deal with you having some pissing-contest for the rest of our time here."
They head off not long after saying their goodbyes to Penny, though Ruby hung back a bit from Weiss and Blake, pinching the bridge of her nose.
"You good sis?" Yang asked softly.
"…Yeah, yeah I'm…" She huffed out sharply, trying to squash her frustration, "…I just wasn't expecting crap like this coming in from left and right. Oh, and thanks for holding Blake back, don't think I would've been able to stop her without you."
Yang gently rubbed Ruby's back, the familiar gesture calming her frayed nerves and frustration as she basked in the warmth of Yang's aura brushing against her own.
"Once Weiss and Blakey deal with their stuff, whadda you say just me and you go out and buy some treats?"
"…That sounds good," Ruby sighed with a small smile, leaning into Yang as the elder sibling hugged her for a moment. "Hopefully they'll cool off by the time they get back."
…
They most certainly did not cool off by the time they got back.
"You totally jinxed it," Yang muttered.
"I'm well aware," Ruby ground out.
"So everything I say about the White Fang is wrong then? How is what I'm saying a problem!? You're nothing but sympathetic to people who deserve none of it, like that blond dishrag in JNPR!" Weiss screeched, Blake's own hackles visibly raised.
"Part of the problem is people who refuse to see what's wrong! People like Cardin, like you!" She pointed at Weiss. "With every word that comes out of your mouth, every laugh, every disdainful look, every glob of spit, every tail and ear yanked, EVERY CHAIN people like you clasped around Faunus in those Dust Mines, the more violent the White Fang become!"
That seemed to make Weiss back down a little, if in shock and nothing else. Blake pressed the apparent advantage.
"You call them terrorists, yet it's because of people like you that push them further and further! You're nothing but a spoiled little brat who's been spoon-fed since the day you were BORN!"
"So why is it that the day I was born, I'VE BEEN TARGETED FOR NO OTHER REASON THAN MY BLOOD!?" Weiss roared back, Blake being the one to flinch away at the blizzard-like rage exploding from every pore of the smaller girl. "I despise the White Fang because they have done nothing but made my life miserable. Even as a child, every dust-theft, every bombing, every dead board and family member just led to another round SCREAMING from my father! Like that train-theft before I left Beacon, every action they took, they've done NOTHING but confirm to me that they're just ANIMALS!"
Yang and Ruby did not miss Blake's flinch at Weiss's mention of the train theft, the former's eyebrows creasing at the guilty look flickering across her face. Ruby sighed and moved to Weiss to try and calm her, only for the latter to shove her away and storm towards Blake.
"THAT is why I don't trust the White Fang and Faunus! THAT is why I can see them as nothing but what they TRULY ARE! Liars, thieves, AND MURDERERS!"
Blake's dark violet aura visibly burst off her body, her form appearing to shift as her amber eyes seemingly glowed, Weiss backing off at the unrestrained malice that Blake was exuding.
"You call us liars, yet you promised us equality! You call us thieves yet you took everything from us! And you call us murderers, yet you've hunted us down since the dawn of our emergence! WE WON'T STAND FOR IT ANYMORE!"
"…We?"
Blake's vicious aura vanished at the sound of Yang's voice, panic suddenly creeping in at the realization of what she'd just said. When she frantically turned to the blonde, shame weighed upon her shoulders at the pained look of utter betrayal on her face.
"So that time when Ruby held down your bow...?" Yang said, her eyes flickering to glowing red.
"I-I…!" Blake stuttered, her breathing turning short and shallow before she did what she was best at: she ran.
"BLAKE!" Ruby shouted as said Faunus vanished, the door slamming right in Ruby's face just in time for Ruby to slam her face in the door, clutching her nose. "AAAGH, DAMMIT WEISS!" She roared, slamming her fist on the floor.
"Y-you knew…?" Weiss trailed off at the furious look Ruby shot her.
"I knew she was a Faunus, only had a hunch about the White Fang part."
"Wh-why didn't you-!?" She started.
"THIS IS WHY WEISS!" Ruby snarled right back before closing her eyes and breathing out. Weiss felt something in her heart squeeze painfully as Ruby opened her eyes, her expression dead-calm… and disappointed. "This is why." Weiss looked down and Ruby turned to her sister, who was shocked in her own right but steeled herself at the look Ruby gave her.
"You going after her?"
"Yeah," Ruby nodded, "I'll keep in touch. Anything big happens, I'll send my location. And Yang?" Ruby gave her a small smile. "We'll get her back and you can ask all the questions you want, alright?"
"Hmph… you'd better." Yang shot back with a small grin.
With that, Ruby took off like a bullet to locate Blake. With her speed, it wasn't necessarily hard to find her in a short period of time, Ruby quickly touching down in the main courtyard where she saw Blake standing there, her bow gone to reveal two adorable cat-ears.
"Yo, Blake," Ruby called out, casually approaching her with her hands in her pockets. Blake was startled and back-stepped regardless, her hands immediately going up in a defensive stance. "I'm not here to do anything to you."
"Then why are you-!?"
"It's my responsibility as Team Leader," Ruby answered simply, still casually walking towards Blake. "…and I'd like to think that we're at least friends, regardless of who you are."
That made Blake pause, her arms shaking before she dropped them, her eyes welling with tears. "Why… why aren't you bringing me in?"
"I told you, I'd like to think we're friends, and I wouldn't do that to you. Besides, I'm not one to judge you wanting to do what's right, not without full context." She made a bold step froward, standing right in front of Blake. "I know that you don't want to go back now, and I won't force you back. But until you make that choice, I'll be here with you."
Blake was the one who was surprised now as Ruby lowered her head, her lips pressed in a wobbling line while her own eyes started to water. "I-I know I haven't been the best leader, letting a problem like this fester. I could've done something instead of sitting around like some little girl-!"
Blake was the one who stepped in, her arms strongly embracing Ruby.
"Thank you," She whispered, Ruby hugging her right back as they silently cried for a minute or two. After they were done wiping their eyes, Ruby stepped back with a smile on her face. "Thank you for keeping my seceret, for protecting me from the Lupa, for understanding."
"Anytime Blake," Ruby said. "Y'know, you look good without the bow."
A familiar aura made itself known right atop the statue, surprising Ruby at its sudden appearance but rendering her happy all the same.
"I agree, way more natural," Sun chuckled as his legs dangled from his sitting-place, his voice startling Blake, "Oh, and heya Ruby!"
"Hi Sun!" Ruby waved back as the boy idly landed in a slight crouch. "Oh, uh, Blake, this is Sun! The guy who… made good use of a perfectly fine boat."
Sun's cheeks turned red as he laughed, unable to deny Ruby's implication. "Pleasure to meet ya!" He said as he held out a hand, Blake hesitantly shaking it. "Sooo… I'm gonna assume you two ain't goin' back to your dorm for the night?"
Ruby looked at Blake and placed a gentle hand on her shoulder, a supportive smile on her face. Blake breathed in and out and nodded slowly.
"Yeah… yeah, we'll be out for a while. There's something I have to… something I need to do." She yelped as Ruby playfully whacked her on the back of the head.
"That's we," Ruby corrected, "Like I said, I'm not going anywhere. So… what's the plan?"
(TWBY Continued…)
Aaand scene! So, y'all are probably wondering what's up with Sun? Well, it was hinted at a few chapters ago, but I'll leave it up to you to pick up the pieces ;P. Thank you all so much for your patience and support, love you guys and peace out! Oh, and of course, Happy Easter!
