Welcome to PJ Masks: Season 6.5 episode 1B! One quick thing: I reread my last chapter, and I missed an important detail about Lynx's appearance. She has a halo floating above her head that gave her lynx powers when she first became a cat girl. Enjoy the episode!
Episode 1B: Three's a Crowd
Catboy and Bastet just finished dealing with Romeo, who was angrily flying away in his Flying Factory.
"I'll be back, PJ Pests!" the inventor boy said as he flew away, soon completely out of sight. Bastet made a growling noise of triumph.
"Great job, Bastet," Catboy said, turning to Bastet and smiling.
"Thank you. You did great as well, buddy," Bastet mewed back, giving her blue cat friend a high five. As the two finished high-fiving, Lynx Cat ran on all fours toward them.
"Hi, Catboy and Bastet! I came to help you guys," Lynx mewed.
"Uh...sorry, Lynx...we sorta stopped the villain already," Catboy pointed out.
"Oh...lingering lynxes..." Lynx meowed, standing on all fours and staring at the ground in disappointment.
"You do not need to worry about us, Lynx. We had it covered. Mew. These villains will never be a match for us," Bastet meowed, smiling and licking her hand.
"Ok, I guess. See you guys later," Lynx said, sounding sad as she ran away on all fours. Catboy looked over at Bastet as she said "bye" and teleported away with her Sun Disc. A look of sympathy for Lynx crept over the blue cat's face.
That morning in the library, Connor was telling his friends about Lynx.
"Lynx hasn't gone on a real mission with us yet," he said. "I feel kinda bad for her. She has no experience with stopping villains."
"Same here. Maybe she can join you and Bastet," Amaya suggested. "After all, she tried last night, but it was too late."
"I agree," Greg said.
"Alright then," Connor announced. "PJ Masks, we're on on our way..."
"Into the night, to save the day!" the trio said altogether.
That night, the Power Heroes gathered in the meeting room for their next mission. The orb screen above them showed a live feed of the Wolfy Kids trashing the streets.
"By the mummies of meow! Dogs?" Bastet said with a look of disgust. "Who are they?"
"They're the Wolfy Kids...always trashing things," Catboy muttered in reply. Lynx sat up with an excited expression.
"I'll help stop them! I'd like to work with Bastet and Catboy! With Bastet's sun powers, Catboy's cat powers, and my lynx powers, we'll be unstoppable!" Lynx meowed eagerly, purring like a real cat. Catboy smiled at Lynx's enthusiasm, but Bastet's reply made the yellow cat's smile fade.
"Mew! Lynx, fighting villains is not a game...it is serious business," Bastet replied, looking entitled and strict. "Even Lilyfay knows that."
"Hey! What's that supposed to mean?" Lilyfay asked. Bastet did not reply, and instead she just narrowed her eyes at Lynx. The other heroes looked at each other in worry. These cats were hard to tolerate sometimes, especially Bastet.
"I know fighting villains isn't a game...that's why I brought my lucky shard with me," Lynx stated stoutly, pulling her lucky shard out of her pocket for a moment and putting it back.
"We got this, Lynx. Come on, Catboy," Bastet meowed, running towards the the vehicle tunnel. Catboy got out of his seat and looked at Lynx before following Bastet and making their announcement to save the day.
What problem does that Sun Cat have with me? I'm going to join the mission whether she likes it or not, Lynx thought, getting up and running after her cat friends, who didn't know she joined them until after she got into the Cat-Racer. Bastet rolled her eyes, and Lynx looked away from her. Catboy had a worried expression as the three went to Earth.
When the cat trio arrived and started riding on the road, Lynx and Bastet seemed to be starting an argument.
"Why are you here? I told you we do not need you! Mew!" Bastet exclaimed, flattening her black and white ears in annoyance.
"I wanted to help!" Lynx snapped back, flattening her dark brown ears. Fearful that Bastet and Lynx may jeopardize the mission with their fighting, Catboy tried to change the subject.
"Guess what, Lynx? I told PJ Robot about you, and he said that he's gonna make you a dorm in our Power Q!" Catboy said with a smile.
"Really?" Lynx asked in amazement.
"Yeah! We all have our own dorms in case we don't want to go home yet, and you're gonna get your own!" Catboy replied. Lynx squealed eagerly, and Bastet just shifted away from her in her seat.
"I'm gonna use my cat ears to listen for the Wolfies. Cat Ears!" Catboy said as his ears started jerking back and forth. Eventually, he heard voices.
"Kevin! Why'd you put a banana on the ground for me to slip on?" a female voice said. It was Rip.
"Sorry, I was only doing what you told me..." Kevin said sympathetically. Rip growled.
"I hear the Wolfy Kids! This way!" Catboy exclaimed, turning the Cat Racer right onto another street. He parked the race car when the heroes arrived.
The cats hopped out and posed for action. Bastet was growling at the Wolfies, Catboy was baring his teeth, and Lynx was smiling with furrowed eyebrows.
Time for action! Lingering lynxes, I'm so excited! Lynx thought.
"Growling pyramids! Stop wrecking this fine city," Bastet said, getting the Wolfies' attention. "It is not nice."
"We don't care! It's fun!" Howler replied.
"Right, and now we are going to go trash the Sports Hall! Uh...right, Rip?" Kevin said, turning to Rip to make sure he was following with his pack.
"Yes, Kevin. Let's go!" Rip said, leading her pack off toward the Sports Hall. Catboy and Bastet were going to go after them, but Lynx tried to come as well. Bastet stopped her.
"We can do this by ourselves, Lynx Cat. You can clean up the street. Mew," Bastet said, flicking her hand out at Lynx.
"But I wanna help y-" Lynx began.
"I said we can do this ourselves!" Bastet hissed.
"Bastet, that's not cool," Catboy said angrily, pushing Bastet's arm down.
"She'll be fine! Let us go! The Wolfies are getting away!" Bastet replied. Catboy stared at Bastet as she ran off, and then he looked back at Lynx. The yellow lynx looked even sadder than last night.
"Sorry about Bastet. I don't know why she's like this. You can come if you want," Catboy offered to Lynx.
"I'm fine, don't worry about me," Lynx replied, acting like she was okay when she wasn't. Catboy gave her one more look before running off to fight with Bastet.
Bastet is treating me like I'm not a hero, Lynx thought, bending down and looking at the mess. I have an idea to prove to her I take being a hero seriously.
Lynx then ran off, leaving the street mess behind.
Meanwhile, Bastet and Catboy were fighting the Wolfies as they tried to trash the Sports Hall. Meows and growls from Bastet could be heard, but since Catboy usually never made cat noises, only grunts of battle came from him. Lynx Cat, being swift and fast even without cat speed power, came to watch the fight on the Sports Hall's roof. Before Bastet could aim her Sun Disc at Rip, Lynx jumped down in front of her and faced the Wolfies, who growled in irritation.
"Well, if it isn't Leather Cat," Rip said, saying Lynx's name wrong on purpose to make her mad. It didn't work though; Lynx knew not to get angry over the smallest insults from villains.
"Lynx! You came!" Catboy said with a smile. Bastet looked anything but happy.
"Meow! Lynx, move! You're blocking my view!" Bastet said, her Sun Disc floating in between her hands. Lynx just turned her head to her and hissed. Then she turned back to the Wolfies.
"Yip yip yip! Yaroo!" the Wolfies howled, using their supersonic howl to blow the cat heroes away. They went into the air screaming, and they fell to the ground with a thud. Catboy and Bastet fell on their backsides, and Lynx fell on her face. She flattened her ears and sat up weakly. It seemed like she was crying. Unlike the other heroes, Lynx was very sensitive to pain.
"That hurt me so bad," Lynx whined.
"Why did you leap in like that? I told you! We do not need your help!" Bastet hissed.
"I just wanted to prove to you guys that I take this hero stuff seriously! You think you're sooo perfect with your Sun Disc and fancy jewelry, but I can be a hero too!" Lynx snapped back.
"Guys..." Catboy began, but his cat friends argued over him.
"Meow! Why won't you listen to me?" Bastet snarled.
"GUYS!" Catboy yelled.
"Because I just want to be your friend, Bastet! I've been wanting to work with you, but you keep ordering me around because 'I don't take being a hero seriously'!" Lynx snarled back.
"BY MY CAT'S WHISKERS GUYS, WILL YOU BOTH JUST LISTEN TO ME?!" Catboy screamed finally, making both cats look at him in surprise. "The Wolfies trashed the Sports Hall!"
Bastet and Lynx turned to scan the damage, and there were bananas, old food, and paper everywhere.
"Growling pyramids..." Bastet meowed sadly.
"Did we do that?" Lynx asked.
"YES! If Bastet could've just WORKED WITH LYNX AND STOPPED ASSUMING THINGS, the Wolfies wouldn't have gotten away!" Catboy hissed angrily. Bastet and Lynx looked at each other.
"This is my fault, Lynx..." Bastet realized. "If I hadn't been so mean to you, this wouldn't be happening. I should not judge a book by its cover. You were just excited to be a hero. I am sorry, Lynx Cat. Can you ever forgive me?"
"Of course, Bastet!" Lynx said as the two girls shared a hug.
"Finally. Sorry for yelling, by the way. I needed to get that off my chest," Catboy apologized.
"It's okay," Lynx said. "I think I have a plan to stop the Wolfy Kids."
"Tell us!" Bastet urged. Lynx huddled the other cat heroes.
"Time to be a power hero," Lynx whispered before explaining her plan.
The Wolfy Kids were trashing a bakery, and they were doing a pretty good job.
"This is so much fun!" Howler said.
"Are you sure about this guys? I love the bakery," Kevin whined.
"Don't worry, Kevin. Once we've finished trashing the outside, we can steal you a brownie," Rip replied.
"How nice of you, Rip," a voice said. It was Lynx, turning a corner to face the Wolfies.
"No brownies for you, Leather Cat," Rip snarled. Lynx sighed in a fake way.
"The others didn't want to tell you this because they were too full of themselves, so I volunteered to come and say it: you guys win," Lynx lied. Of course, the villains were very gullible, so the Wolfies howled in triumph.
"Really? About time those felines met their match!" Rip howled. Just then, Catboy and Bastet ambushed them.
"What the?" Kevin said.
"Sun Disc, rise!" Bastet hissed, drawing out her Sun Disc and throwing it, making all three Wolfies lose their footing. As they tried to get up angrily, Catboy stopped them.
"Super Cat Speed!" he called as he sped around the Wolfies, making them dizzy.
After the dizziness ceased, the Wolfies faced Lynx and snarled as they got up.
"See ya, dopey dogs! Super Lynx ROAR!" Lynx said, revealing her blood-freezing sound power for the first time. Catboy and Bastet's eyes widened in amazement. Just like that, the Wolfies were blown away towards the park, and they fell.
"I'm okay!" Kevin yelled. Bastet walked over to Lynx after she was done roaring.
"By the claws of Cleopatra! Great plan, Lynx Cat! I didn't know you could do that!" Bastet said, giving Lynx a high-five.
"Thank you! Happy to help!" Lynx replied.
"You're always welcome to go out on missions with us anytime," Catboy said.
"I wouldn't miss it for the world," Lynx said. "PJ Masks Power Heroes, shout hooray..."
"'Cause in the night, Lynx saved the day!" Catboy and Bastet said as the three cats made poses in the air.
I am changing the name of this season to PJ Masks Power Heroes: Ultra Masks! You excited yet? Lol, I hope so! See ya for episode 2A...nope, not gonna spoil it. Bye!
