Welcome to PJ Masks: Season 6.5 episode 2A! So here's the current pattern: Every episode's first half will have a new hero (or villain), and then that hero or villain will get a chance to shine in the second half. Also, Owlette and Bastet act like sisters, so they will be going on a mission together in these episodes. Enjoy!

Episode 2A: By My Phoenix Feathers! - Part 1

In the daytime, Amaya was sitting alone in the library, reading books. Eventually, her friends, Connor and Greg, came to join her.

"Hey, Amaya!" Greg said.

"Hey!" Amaya replied with a smile. Connor and Greg looked down at what Amaya was reading.

"What are you reading?" Connor asked.

"Yeah, and is that a bird on the page?" Greg added on.

"Yes...it's a phoenix. You know...the magical fire bird," Amaya explained.

"Cool!" Connor said. "Why are you reading about phoenixes? I thought you liked owls more."

"I do," Amaya replied. "but Bastet and I agreed to have a girls' night of reading tonight, and this book is perfect for both of us."

"Girls' night? Don't get me started," Connor said, making the three kids laugh. "Jokes aside, hope you have fun with Bastet. Me, Greg, and the other Power Heroes will watch over the city while you're gone."

Greg nodded in agreement.

"Thanks, guys," Amaya said, raising her fist. "PJ Masks, we're on our way..."

"Into the night, to save the day!" the trio announced.

When all the heroes arrived at Power Q that night, Owlette stood up from her seat.

"Ready to go do some reading, Bastet?" Owlette asked Bastet eagerly.

"With pleasure," Bastet meowed in reply, standing up and purring.

"PJ Masks, all shout hooray!" the Power Heroes declared.

"Owlette and Bastet, go save the day!" Bastet and Owlette announced.

As the two girls left, the other Power Heroes stayed in Power Q to scan the city.

Bastet and Owlette sped down to Earth in the Owl Glider. They hopped out of the glider upon landing and ran into the library portion of the museum.

"So, what are we reading?" Bastet inquired. "A book about Egyptian artifacts? Maybe a book about the history of the desert pyramids? Mew."

"I have something even better," Owlette said, grabbing from a shelf the book she read this morning. "This is a book about phoenixes. Does that species of bird sound familiar?"

"Not at all. Please tell me what a phoenix is," Bastet said, a look of confusion creeping up on her kitty cat face.

Owlette sat Bastet down at a table with her and opened the phoenix book.

"Phoenixes are magical fire birds that get their powers from the sun. Since a phoenix is a bird of the sun, I figured it was perfect for us," Owlette explained.

"By the claws of Cleopatra! I am intrigued, my feathered friend," Bastet said. "Let's learn more about this bird together."

The two red-eyed heroes read their phoenix book together in the library.

Meanwhile, on a building in the city, a white girl with blond hair and blue eyes was standing on her balcony. She stared out into the night sky stoutly and held out a red, shiny gem.

"Phoenix gem, give me fire power!" the girl announced. Her gem started glowing, and ribbons of power twisted through her arms. The girl's PJs changed into a yellow phoenix costume with red highlights, and she had a feathery orange cape. Her eyes turned yellow, and her head had a crest of feathers on it.

"Phoenix has risen!" the girl declared. She spread her cape and jumped off her balcony onto the street. She made her way to the museum's courtyard.

"My first time becoming a bird hero...maybe I should start by reading a book about animal powers..." Phoenix said to herself. "I gotta protect myself, though. I don't want to encounter bad guys."

Phoenix then ran inside the museum and went to the library section, where Owlette and Bastet were still reading their book. Phoenix hid behind a pillar as soon as she saw them. Luckily, the two hero girls didn't notice her.

"Look, Owlette! It says here that phoenixes were also Egyptian! I love reading about my Egyptian culture," Bastet pointed out. Owlette laughed.

Who are those two? Phoenix thought. I never met other kids awake at night before. Maybe I should go say hi.

Slowly, Phoenix approached Bastet and Owlette.

"Hi, there," the fire bird hero said, making Bastet and Owlette turn her way. They jumped up and posed for battle. Bastet jumped on the table, flattened her ears, and growled at Phoenix, and Owlette spread her cape.

Uh oh! Maybe I should've stayed hidden, Phoenix thought.

"Who are you?" Owlette asked Phoenix.

"Yes, and if you're a villain, we won't hesitate to show you what we heroes can do! Sun Disc, rise!" Bastet added, drawing out her Sun Disc and hissing.

"Wait! Please don't attack!" Phoenix said hastily. "I've only come here to read a book about animal power...I'm a new bird hero, and it's my first night out."

Owlette and Bastet looked at her in surprise. Bastet got off the table and drew back her Sun Disc, and Owlette let go of her cape.

"New bird hero?" Owlette asked.

"Yes..." Phoenix said.

"Fluttering feathers!" Owlette said.

"Interesting," Bastet remarked, crossing her arms with a smirk. "Looks like Owlette has met her match."

Owlette eyed Bastet with an annoyed stare. She then turned to Phoenix as she chuckled.

"So I'm not the only bird hero in the city now? That's so cool! What's your name?" Owlette asked Phoenix.

"My name is Phoenix," Phoenix said. "I don't know much about my powers yet, though. I don't even know how to fly."

"I can help you fly. After all, I've been a hero longer," Owlette replied. Bastet stared at her.

"I thought we were going to spend the whole night reading," Bastet said, her ears flattening in disappointment. Phoenix felt bad for the Sun Cat, but she also wanted Owlette to help her learn how to be a bird hero.

"This bird hero needs guidance, Bastet. Maybe we can reschedule," Owlette told Bastet. "Come on outside, Phoenix. Let's teach you how to fly."

The owl-themed heroine then led Phoenix outside, and Bastet ran on all fours after them. The Sun Cat sat on the stairs sadly as she watched the bird heroes train.

"Bird heroes need to know how to get off the ground," Owlette said, activating her Super Owl Wings and floating in the air. "Try flapping those fiery wings!"

"Phoenix Flight!" the phoenix-themed heroine called, obeying Owlette. She flapped, and she slowly rose in the air.

"I...I'm flying!" Phoenix said joyfully.

"Yeah!" Owlette replied with a laugh.

The two bird heroes flew in the air together, doing tricks and becoming good friends. Bastet was still on the stairs, muttering to herself.

"I guess I should probably head back to Power Q...Owlette obviously doesn't want to hang out with me anymore. She's too busy hanging out with that phoenix kid," Bastet muttered, quietly summoning her Sun Disc. She then used the disc to teleport to Power Q, and Phoenix and Owlette didn't even notice her leaving.

Time Skip: 30 minutes later.

Bastet laid in the bed of her dorm, staring out of her window into space. She meowed sadly. Just then, she heard a knock at her door.

"Ayo, Bastet! Can I come in?" a voice asked. It was Lynx Cat, and all she ended up hearing was a hiss from Bastet.

"Please?" Lynx begged. "I just came back from stopping Night Ninja with Catboy and Ice Cub. I wanna hang out with you."

"Mew...very well," Bastet meowed, sitting at the edge of her bed as Lynx came into her dorm and sat next to her.

"What's bothering you? You look down," Lynx said, looking at Bastet as the Sun Cat hung her head.

"Owlette has...a new friend," Bastet replied.

"Really? Who?" Lynx asked.

"A fire bird girl that apparently made Owlette reschedule our reading session," Bastet hissed in reply.

"A new bird hero? That's awesome!" Lynx said, making Bastet give her a glare. But unlike most people, Lynx didn't backtrack often when she said stupid things.

"What?! That is awesome! I don't know what you want me to say," Lynx said, crossing her arms. Bastet rolled her red eyes.

"It's okay...thing is, I'm actually not fond of this new hero," Bastet said. "Let's just say...she might become Owlette's best friend."

"So, you're jealous?" Lynx asked with a smirk. Bastet shot her another glare.

"By the claws of Cleopatra! Do you have sand in your cat ears?! I never said I was jealous!" Bastet hissed.

"Don't scream at me because you don't wanna admit it!" Lynx hissed back. Bastet bulged her eyes at her.

"I think you should probably leave," Bastet warned viciously.

"Wait, I didn't mean to-" Lynx began, stunned by Bastet's warning.

"I SAID GET OUT!" Bastet screamed, making Lynx run out of her dorm in tears. Bastet was really being cruel to her.

"Wait, Lynx! I didn't mean-" Bastet began.

The Sun Cat immediately regretted what she said as Lynx ran off, but she closed her dorm room door behind her.
