A/N: Thanks for the kind guest review! I really thought I was failing at this... Sorry if anyone seems too ooc

Anyway, on with the story!

"Does this happen every lunchtime?" I ask as the Sins and I make ourselves comfortable outside the principal's office. Diane was seated across from me on an armchair, while Merlin and Escanor shared a couch, leaving King floating and Gowther sitting on a window seat.

Meliodas and Ban had already gone inside the office, probably being scolded by the teacher. The 'fight' they'd had resulted in a collapsed wall, which they'll probably fix as a punishment. However something tells me that they're so used to it they often brush it aside. In fact on the way to the office Meliodas and Ban kept joking about the principal's haircut and how the old man couldn't do much to daunt them. I found it amazing how they didn't seem fazed about being in such deep trouble. I knew if I was in their situation, I'd be apologising profusely while crying.

But something tells me that all of the Sins usually get into situations like this. That's probably why they seemed to know what position or place makes them the most comfortable while waiting. It seems like the space outside the principal's office was like a lounge for them.

"You could say that," King's drowsy voice spoke, followed by a yawn. I'd forgotten that he'd fallen asleep just after he'd grabbed his lunch. He was so quiet while the rest of us just watched Meliodas and Ban. "The Captain and Ban enjoy throwing each other around like rag dolls."

"I think it's some sort of game for them," Diane nodded in agreement, "Every time they haven't seen each other for a while, they go straight into an arm wrestle match."

"Or some other violent event," Escanor piped up.

"I thought it was just their way of greeting," Gowther spoke in his usual monotone, "Or perhaps a custom of their friendship."

Everyone looked at the male, raising a brow at his perplexing theory. Gowther was either a literalist or he had no idea how emotions worked. My vote is on the first.

"I have to say it is interesting," Merlin changed the subject as she held her face in her palm, "However it was how the Captain and Ban first met."

The others nodded or said a few words of agreement, before turning their attention to the sound coming from further down the hall. I was curious to know how all the Sins met and how they had managed to become Sins, however a sound pushed those questions away.

The rhythm of rushed footsteps, followed by heavy breathing filled my ears as I spotted a familiar shade of purple hair. It was cut short, only reaching her earlobes. Warm amber eyes contrasted with her red tie and on her back she carried a sword. Recognition hit me immediately as I spotted my tomboyish sister. The one who always helped me when I was in trouble.

"Veronica!"

"Ellie!" She tackled me into a hug. Instinctively I hugged her back, ignoring the questions plaguing my mind. They would have to wait until later.

"Where were you? I've been looking for you all day!" Veronica sighed as we separated.

"You have?" I raised a brow, "I thought that you and Margaret were going to another school."

"We were but I couldn't leave you by yourself," Veronica grinned, planting her hands on her waist, "Knowing you, you'll probably forget your timetable or something. So I thought I'd pull a few strings and come here to look out for my younger sis."

I blushed, knowing her words were true. I always was forgetful - and clumsy. They were two traits that stuck with me throughout my childhood and no matter how hard I tried, they never went away. Some found it adorable, while others easily grew annoyed. They were both a burden and a blessing for me.

"Don't worry it's cute, Ellie," My sister smiled, as if reading my thoughts, before asking, "But what are you doing here? Don't tell me you got into trouble already!"

"No I was just - "

"Are those the Seven Deadly Sins!" Veronica frowned, as Diane gave her a small wave and the other Sins continued to look at her. Glares seemed to be exchanged with silent words, while I simply stood in the crossfire, making sure the peace remained. Knowing Veronica her bullheaded ways will take over soon.

Tension clouded the air immediately, filling my lungs with smog, and I could sense the anger and frustration flickering between the two sides. I sighed as I watched Merlin's fingers twitching, a sign that she was getting ready to do something, and Veronica held the hilt of her sword. King seemed to had fallen asleep again, or was just watching everything unfold, while Diane nervously twirled her fingers in her hair and Gowther watched with curiosity and intent.

The only person who seemed to be calm was Escanor. However he seemed to be focused on guarding Merlin and doing whatever she asked of him. Plus I don't see him fighting anyone with his current state. He looked like the definition of a shrimp. Nevertheless I'll probably be surprised.

I sighed as I looked at the two groups. I wonder where all of this tension came from anyway. It can't have been anything I was involved in, otherwise I would've known to keep Veronica away from the Sins. But maybe it was and I'd just forgotten. Like that time I accidentally brought Vivian to play with us when we were younger. I've never seen Margaret as hostile as she was that day.

"We're going Ellie," Veronica swiftly moved her hand from the hilt of her sword, "Come on."

"But - "

"I'm going and you're coming," She answered coldly, "I'll explain everything later."

"Oh...ok," I say softly, before turning to the Sins, "Bye guys. I'll...I'll see you later."

"Yeah," Diane smiled, "Don't forget about Saturday! We have a lot more to do."

"Just be careful of what your sister says," King warned, "There's a lot of lies going around about us and we don't want you getting brainwashed."

"Ok," I say as I begin to rush after Veronica. Hopefully the tension between her and the Sins isn't anything too serious. Otherwise I'll have to abandon them and I'd hate to do such a thing. They really do seem like nice people. But if Veronica tells me to avoid them, I'll have to. After all, blood before friends, even if you believe otherwise.

"Veronica!" I try to tug my arm from her firm grasp. I'm pretty sure there will be a red mark from how tight she's holding my arm. "Veronica stop!"

She froze, releasing my arm of her iron grip. I smiled as I felt the pressure around my wrist loosen and examined it to see a red mark, however nothing too serious. I'm pretty sure some ice would take the swelling down. However instead of focusing on my arm, I looked at Veronica. She cast her gaze to the ground, a pout on her lips and hair in her eyes as she fidgeted with her shoes.

"I'm sorry for hurting your wrist, Elizabeth," She mumbled, "I just - I don't want you around the Sins."

Her words took me aback. She didn't want me around the Sins. But why? They haven't wronged me or done anything to deserve such unfair judgement. All they were was kind. Yet knowing Veronica she probably had a valid reason. Well at least I hope she does today. If not I'd feel even more terrible about having to cut them off.

"Why not?" I ask my voice wavering with demand, "The Sins haven't done anything wrong."

"That's what you think!" Veronica fumed, "The Sins aren't nice people. They may have treated you kindly today, but wait until tomorrow. Haven't you heard the rumours? They're pretty much notorious for being terrible. Why would you want to hang around such people?!"

"Rumours aren't reliable Veronica!" My eyes teared up at my outburst, "I just - the Sins don't seem like how everyone makes them out to be. What if they were wrongly accused?"

"Wrongly accused my ass," Veronica huffed as she grabbed my wrist again, "I'm getting you away from them if it's the last thing I do. You're too naive for your own good, Ellie, and when you realise that you'll be better off. In fact I even got father to assign you a Holy Knight."

"A Holy Knight?" I repeat, "But - Aren't they one of the most powerful students here?"

Veronica smirked at my words, triumph coating her demeanor, "Exactly."

No more words said, she dragged me to a classroom. Outside it was a plaque that read 'Holy Knight New Gen'. I shivered at the words. The New Generation were known to be extremely powerful, meaning I wouldn't be able to escape if I tried. Even if I wanted to object and see the Sins, they'd probably attack them on the spot. I flinched at the image.

Vision blurry from tears of frustration, I slowly walked as Veronica brought me inside. In the room were multiple knights, a mixture of females and males, but all of them with their attention turned on us - the daughters of King Baltra, the king of Liones. However neither of us wore that title. In fact we preferred to just be like normal girls. Doing as we wished without having to act for a crowd. Without having to be a princess.

"Princess Elizabeth, Princess Veronica," All of the knights seemed to bow or back down in our presence.

"At ease," Veronica simply spoke as she walked into the center of the room, dragging me behind her, "Where is Jericho?"

All of the knights parted to reveal a female around my age. She had lavender hair that was tied into a ponytail with a royal blue ribbon. She wore a white short-sleeve jacket with a teal short jumpsuit that revealed her collar bones. On her back was a sword, which contrasted greatly with her smile.

"You must be Elizabeth," Jericho smiled widely, eyes softened with welcoming. "I'm honored that King Baltra would trust me with looking after the youngest princess of Liones. So many of the guys said it was impossible for me to do since I was so weak."

A few comments and jeers were spoken, causing her to frown. Jericho then stuck up a middle finger, sticking her tongue out at the others. Judging by her attitude, she's been looked down on as a knight because she was a woman. That is probably why she is hiding some of her more female sides and why she took up the role of protecting me. To prove herself to the men.

"Well, I'm glad to know Ellie will be in good hands," Veronica beamed, "She's always winding up in some sort of trouble, so do look out for her."

"You have my word," Jericho nodded, "Guila and I will protect her with our lives."

"Guila?" I ask. I thought I'd only be assigned one knight, if I have two then how will I be able to breathe? I'll never be able to have free will if I'm constantly guarded by two knights.

"Yeah," Jericho nodded as another female came forward. She wore a pink headband and had one strand of her long inky hair near her face. Like Jericho was had a sword and wore a white short-sleeved jacket. However instead of a teal jumpsuit with royal blue markings she wore a white one with pink markings. "We often work as a team since we're such close friends."

"Don't not worry Princess, we are loyal," Guila smiled, bowing, "You can think of us as friends more than bodyguards."

Friends? That does sound nice, but normally friends aren't made in this way. Plus they will restrict me from certain activities. But if I don't think of them as friends, I'll probably feel like a prisoner. I sigh as I contemplate my options before looking at the two knights.

"Of course," I give them a smile, causing Veronica to smile back at me. I'll just focus on making her happy instead of how trapped I feel now. After all she's just looking out for me. Veronica is a good sister, she only wants what is best for me. I should be grateful and forget about how it will affect me.

"Great!" Jericho beamed, "Because we have to introduce you to the Deity society. Apparently the King wants you to attend because of your abilities."

"Oh yes, my abilities," I say slowly. In all of the bustle of today, I'd almost forgotten I could heal things without causing much suspicion. Due to that many believe I have druid blood in my veins, however none of them know my true origins.

"Well, have fun," Veronica waved before starting to leave, "If you ever need me, look out for Griamore."

"He's here too!" My eyes widen in shock.

"Yep and Howzer and Gilthunder," Veronica smirked, "However Gil's only here for a while. The only one who couldn't come was Margaret."

I nodded as my sister disappeared from view, leaving me with the Holy knights.

"I guess we should get going to the society?" I say sheepishly.

The two knights nod and begin to guide me towards our destination.

"We've been waiting for you Elizabeth," I blinked as I looked at the faces around the room.

They all looked familiar in some way. Some being people I haven't seen in years, while others being people I barely knew while I was still in good graces with my own kind. But they all wore the same grim expression when they saw me walk in wingless and not remorseful of my actions. Something my birth mother had begged me to do many years ago.

"I'm guessing you all know who I really am then?" I say as I make eye contact with everyone.

"Yes," Four students stepped forward, "You're the Supreme Deity's daughter. The one who betrayed Celestial Prep by siding with a demon."

Warily, I stepped back. These four were not to be trusted. Not after what I've done. I'm a traitor to my kind, someone who shouldn't be in the good graces. I'm someone they would kill in an instant if possible, however my mother stopped them from doing such a thing. Instead she banished me away from our land, forcing me to live the life of someone on the surface.

"I didn't betray anyone," I say indignantly, shaking my head, "I was looking for a peaceful way out and - "

"We all know it's not your fault Lady Elizabeth," I froze as Ludociel came forward, his form as towering as ever. "Even if it was, I hold no grudge against you. However no-one can forgive Meliodas for what he has done."

I smiled slightly as I felt my hand on the doorknob, before fixing it into a grimace. Once again everyone was trying to convince me that I was brainwashed and that Meliodas was the true criminal in what happened to me. I was innocent and he was the cruel demon that manipulated my naive younger self. No-one was to blame but Meliodas...That isn't what happened and I know it.

That's why Jenna and Zaneri escaped. They left after disagreeing with our race's ways, and I wanted to join them; I couldn't. I had to stay and make sure everything was fine and it resulted in me being cast away and forced to live a human's life.

"What do you mean?" I say as I fumble behind my back for the doorknob, "I thought that Meliodas had changed and he had. None of you know - "

"He was using you Elizabeth," I know where I recognise that voice from. It was Jelamet. She'd disapproved of my meetings with Meliodas greatly and always told me that I'd never repaid for it. "He isn't as perfect as you make him out to be. If you admit it you can finally come home..."

"Come home?" My voice wavers with both anger and melancholy. It has been a while since I'd been back home. I can barely remember some things, the images becoming faded and fuzzy over time. In fact most of what I remember is bad since it was the most recent events I have of home. But I would never return there. Not after what happened.

"I don't want to return home," I say coldly, "You all cast me out because I was willing to make peace with the Demons."

"But couldn't you see that was a mistake!" Jelamet frowned, words coming out sharp, "Look what it has resulted in! You need to get your head out of the clouds Elizabeth and come back home. We all miss you, even if I believe you should've had further punishment."

The others nodded, all expressing their opinions of this matter. I frowned as I looked at all the faces in the room, noting how each of them were someone I knew. Someone who had changed over the course of a couple years.

"I guess hoping you'd all forgive and forget would be impossible," I smile slightly, tears spilling from my eyes, "I'd really hoped you'd all understand what I felt in my last few moments as one of you. But I guess I was wrong."

I open the door, ready to leave, when a hand grabs me.

"Lady Elizabeth wait," Ludociel sighs, his features oddly softened, "We don't want to change your mind. We just want an agreement."

"An agreement?" I frown as I pause. This would probably be an attempt to brainwash me. Perhaps they may even try to kidnap me. I mean so much went on beneath the 'perfect persona'.

"Just hear us out," Sariel sighed. He was another familiar face. A member of the Four Archangels. "We just want you to stay away from Meliodas. We beg of you for your own safety."

I let out a sigh as I look at the angels before me. All of them wore weary expressions or slight grimaces. It would be unwise to trust them after leaving, but at the same time Veronica had warned me about Meliodas and the Sins. My sister had no reason to hate them.

I bit my lip in thought as I considered everything. It would be a huge leap of faith to trust them immediately, but then again I'm always taking huge leaps of faith. Like I did with Meliodas...

"Princess," Guila walked into the doorway, causing some of the members to hurriedly hide their wings.

"Yes Guila?" I raise a brow, "Also there's no need to call me Princess you can call me Elizabeth."

"Of course," Guila smiled, "I was just going to say that we should get going. Dinner is soon and curfew's not too long after that and I'm sure you'd like to relax after the big day you've had."

"Oh...um, of course!" I beamed, as I looked back at the students behind me, "I guess I'll catch up with you all later."

"Any time," Sariel nodded, "We meet every Tuesday after school though."

"Thank you," I say as I exit the room, "I'll also consider your offer."

The door immediately slammed shut behind me, probably closed by Jelamet. She was still angry with me, even after knowing I'd go along with my plan.

I continued to think as I walked beside Jericho and Guila. The two walked while talking, their boots clomping on the floor. The rhythm caused me to think even more, sending me deeper and deeper into thoughts and possible outcomes. I was so enveloped that I didn't notice the two knight's conversation stop.

"Is everything ok, Elizabeth?" Jericho raised a brow, startling me slightly, "You look a little down."

"Yes, everything's ok," I smile back at her, "I was just thinking."

"Ok, but if anything's bothering you, don't hesitate to share," She answered before returning to her conversation with Guila.
