Prologue...

Isabella Dwyer has been to hell and back this past year.

At only 21 years old, she has been orphaned, with no place to call home, no motivation to continue her college career, and above all, no will to live.

A glimmer of hope arises when one morning an email addressed to her from a Charlie Swan, her mother's ex-husband and father of her late brother, takes her completely by surprise when he invites her to visit him in Forks, Washington, to give him some things that belonged to her mother and that he had kept all these years.

With nothing to tie her to Phoenix, she packs her bags and leaves for Forks that same day with nothing but a faint hope that this little adventure will give her back the will to live and hopefully find some meaning to her existence.

She still doesn't quite understand how everything went from a simple adventure of self-discovery to getting involved in a job at the town police station, to staying at her stepfather's house, to an old feud involving werewolves, a red-headed vampire thirsty for revenge and, why not, to a love triangle between her, her boss and the cute guy she met at La Push, Jacob Black.

The only thing missing is for her brother to come back from the dead and finally find out that he has completely lost his mind.

But that's not possible, is it?
