It has been a while since I updated this story. I hope the new chapters were worth the wait! I don't own any of the characters or properties.
Alex
To give Nichelle credit she did try to take everyone out by herself. The electric children were all on the ground for a moment. And then I heard a thud, and her body flopped out from behind the wall.
"You were very unwise Rider," I could feel Hatch's smile behind me.
His gun was still pretty firmly pressed against the back of my head and I could feel the tension of the gun; I could almost see his finger cuddling the trigger.
"What? No smart remark?" the kid, Quentin, chuckled.
Some more guards grabbed Nichelle and we were both escorted through the plant.
I'm not going to get any backup. But if the Electroclan is still alive, we still have a chance.
Nichelle being knocked out was going to complicate things but I knew that Michael and I were clever enough to still get this done. I stopped suddenly again and ducked under the gun. In his arrogance, Hatch hadn't used any restraints on me. I smacked his wrist and the gun fell to the ground. Hatch dove for it; I kicked it out of the way. I turned around quickly, catching a guard's stomach. He collapsed. Hatch was already standing… standing behind the kids.
"You want another taste of power?" one of the teens snarled at me. His long hair dangled in front of deranged and sadistic eyes.
"Sure," I glared back.
I darted right at him and maneuvered myself into putting him into a headlock. But it was at that moment I felt my chest burning. I let him go, doubling over, trying to tear the heat away from my body.
"Urrg," I groaned, slumping to the floor.
"That's enough," I heard Hatch tell the teen. The burning stopped.
"I was just getting started," he grumbled. "Come on. How much use is a normal guy going to be?"
"The good doctor wanted him alive," Hatch snapped at him. "You have my permission to take it up with him."
The teen fell silent. I looked up at the group, trying my best to breathe normally. I stood no chance against them while I was on my own. There had to be some way to wake Nichelle up.
Michael
Fighting Dr. Three was like trying to catch a shadow. The man darted around the room, gracefully taking down each of my friends. I flipped myself onto my back, focusing the best I could on the metal of some weapon that hung at the doctor's side. I threw my hands forwards and was rewarded by the sound of Dr. Three crying out in surprise. The man flew forwards, carried by the metal object. He smashed into the wall before sliding down to the floor. He was far from incapsitated however.
"Zeus!" I shouted. "Now!"
Zeus threw a forking branch of electricity. Dr. Three tried to move, but I locked onto the metal object again. The doctor took the blast directly to the chest. He screamed, his limbs contorting, before he fell still.
"Nice one," Zeus waved a hand through the smoke to help me up. Everyone else started to regain consciousness and get back up as well.
"What did we miss?" Jack got up, a hand massaging his head. "That little guy can hit pretty hard."
"We got the doctor," Zeus said proudly.
"Great job," Taylor looked at me with a smile.
Jack went over to Dr. Three and picked him up, fireman style.
"How exactly are we going to get out of here," Tessa looked around the room. The smoke was finally starting to fade.
"I bet Alex has a plan," McKenna suggested. "We just need to find him."
