Chapter 4
The next day, Mandark made some breakfast, preparing some oatmeal, and preparing eggs sunny side up, as he put some things in a bowl. He readied the breakfast, putting out some silverware, and some almond milk. Autumn got out of bed, using her walker, as she came into the kitchen. "Hello, lovey". "Good morning". Mandark said, kindly with soothing, gentle, softness. "Hello". Autumn replied, as she yawned a bit. Mandark smiled a gentle, soothing smile, as he prepared breakfast.
"I have something for us….if indeed you don't mind it". "Would you like some oatmeal, and some eggs?". "I prepared some just for us, coochie". Mandark said, kindly with soothing softness. "Thank you". Autumn replied. Autumn parked her walker, sitting down at the table. Mandark sat by Autumn, spoon feeding her some eggs and oatmeal. Autumn sniffled, as she looked around. She began crying, burying her head into her hands.
"What happened, love?". "Tell me what's troubling you". Mandark said, in an incredibly soothing, and gentle, relaxed softness. Mandark put the fork aside, rubbing Autumn's cheeks with his thumbs. "I don't know". Autumn replied. Autumn sniffled, crying. "I just kind of….I had a bad dream". Autumn said, as she rubbed her eyes.
"What kind of dream did you have?". "What happened?". Mandark asked, in a soothing, gentle, relaxed whisper. He stroked Autumn's cheeks with his thumbs. "I had a dream about my late husband….I don't know really…like I don't remember what happened….but my late husband…he kind of….he disappeared before I woke up….and he never came back". Autumn said.
"Did this dream frighten you?". Mandark asked, kindly with soothing softness. Autumn nodded. "It frightened me a little bit". "It made me scared and sad….because….I want Florence…and even though I'm trying love again….I just miss him so much….and I wonder if it means something bad that I'll go through". "I want Florence….and I miss him so much". Autumn said, as she sniffled, crying. She cried for a long while.
"I understand, sweetie". "I know….I know it's been difficult…..baby". Mandark said, gently with kind soothingness. "I know". Mandark spoke to Autumn at her emotional, Autistic level. "I understand, honey". "I know". Mandark whispered, kindly with soothing gentleness. Autumn cried, as she buried her head in her hands. "You miss your husband….I definitely understand". "Your first few months in Ukraine weren't exactly ideal either". "That might contribute to it". Mandark whispered, gently in a soothing, softened manner. Autumn kept crying as she sobbed. "It's ok, honey". "It's ok…it'll pass…you'll be alright". Mandark whispered, gently with softness.
"Darling….you just have such a beautiful soul….your eyes are as eloquent as your face….and you are as graceful as you are tenacious". Mandark said, kindly with a soothing, gentle, Barry White vocal register. His Barry White impersonation had a sexual tinge to it. Autumn nodded, as she sniffled.
"Would you like to rest for a while?". "Let's go rest for a while". Mandark whispered in his Barry White vocal register. Autumn nodded, as she sniffled. "I want to go home". Autumn sniffled, as she cried softly. "Darling….please listen and understand what I'm about to convey to you". "You are an amazing, beautiful, wise, and intelligent soul with so much tenacity and grace in your endeavors". "I understand this has been difficult for you….but you can do it". "I believe you can…we both can….if we have faith…so let's muster the faith we have….and do our best". "I know we can do it…I believe in us". Mandark whispered, in his soothing, sexual, soft, gentle, relaxed, Barry White's register. Autumn nodded, as she sniffled. "Ok". she replied. "Let's go take a rest for a while, honey". "I know you miss your late husband….and I would never wish to replace him….I love him as well". "But the bond we have is special…..and we'll always be there for one another….because we love one another…..for now, forever, and for always". Mandark whispered, gently with kindness. Autumn nodded, as she felt a gentle, comforting, loving hug from Mandark. Mandark kissed her forehead.
"Let's go lay down for a little bit, coochie". "Time to lay on the couch for a while". Mandark whispered, kindly with softened soothingness. "Let's go lay for a bit, honey". "Want to?". "I won't force you…it's whenever you're ready". Mandark whispered, gently. Autumn continued crying. She put her hands upwards, to keep Mandark away.
"It's ok…it's ok….it's alright". "Come see me, coochie". "Come to me…it's ok…we'll be safe". Mandark whispered a soothing, sympathetic, gentle whisper, as he opened his arms. Autumn came to him, as she continued crying. "Shhh, shhh, shh, shh". Mandark soothed in a rhythmically gentle, and comforting manner. "Shhh, it's ok…I've got you, honey". "No need to worry". Mandark soothed, gently with kindness. Mandark rubbed Autumn's back, gently as he helped her to the couch. Autumn laid down, as she sniffled. Mandark sat on the couch's side, comforting Autumn as he massaged Autumn's chest, gently.
"I know it's been difficult for you…..it usually is difficult to get over a late husband….especially when he is one who is just like you". "A late husband means so much to a young woman who was married for so long". "A man is generally very special to someone he has influenced….in a very positive way as well". "He is someone who has done so much for you….and he has given you so much". "I know you miss him". Mandark said, kindly with gentleness. "I do miss him". "And I miss him a lot". Autumn said. "He was everything to me".
Mandark smiled a warm, gentle, sappy kind smile. "He was everything to you….he was an extraordinary man". "Hmmm, well, I feel as if….maybe if we went slow on our relationship". "It perhaps would help us….in a very nice essence". "It might help us….it might help you…..in the way that it would be nice and slow". "A relationship takes time….effort, and nuance". "I think if we took our time, things would be nice, and progress very well". "I know you need some time to grieve…..and with the time you have….we can progress steadily as well". Mandark explained in a gentle, soothing, softened voice. "Please don't be sad…..be happy that we have one another". "Everything will be ok". Mandark said, gently…as he massaged Autumn's chest.
"I hope". Autumn said. "Don't worry, everything will". Mandark said, kindly with gentleness. "I promise". Mandark smiled a kind smile, massaging Autumn's chest, as she winced a bit.
"Shhh, don't be worried, darling". "Everything's alright now". "It's alright…..take a deep breath, relax, and just enjoy it". "Everything will be ok, honey". "Shhh". Mandark soothed gently with kind softness. "Everything will be just fine". "My darling". Mandark massaged Autumn's chest, as she became relaxed.
"Thank you". Autumn replied. "There you go, coochie". "There you go, lovey". "Everything is alright now, honey". Mandark said, gently with kindness. Autumn looked upwards, with some agitation to her face. Autumn groaned, with a deep, emotional sigh. "Sometimes, children with Autism have difficulty when they become overwhelmed". "Everything will be ok". "You're just tired, and hungry, coochie". Mandark said, kindly with softened soothingness.
Autumn groaned, as she sniffled, crying a soft cry. She began growling as well. "My little baby girl is hungry and tired". "Well, it's time to rest for a bit". Mandark decided, kindly. Autumn sniffled, as she felt the gentle massage, and the gentle rubbing on her chest. "See, there's nothing wrong with that". "You love when I do your chest….it's quite beautiful, isn't it?". Mandark said, in a gentle, soothing, softened, kind voice. "Yes". Autumn said, weakly. She looked up at Mandark, sniffling.
"Just be calm, relax, unwind, and feel rejuvenated". "There's nothing that can separate us, darling". Mandark said, kindly with gentle, soothing softness. Autumn nodded, as she kept her milk close by. Mandark smiled, as he massaged Autumn's chest. Autumn calmed down….while she closed her eyes. "There you go, little one". "You're almost asleep now". "You'll be ok…no need to worry". Mandark said, kindly with a loving, soothing voice. "Ok". Autumn replied, tiredly as she closed her eyes….sleeping. Mandark brushed her face, kindly with gentle softness. He kissed both of Autumn's cheeks, pulling a blanket over her, while she slept.
Mandark rose from the couch, walking into the kitchen, as he cleaned up the partially eaten breakfast. "Poor baby". Mandark whispered, as he put the dishes in the sink. There was a knock at the door, as Mandark answered. "Hey". Mandark whispered, as he answered. "Hey there". I.R. Baboon, another care nurse whispered, gently. "How's things going?". I.R. asked, in a whisper.
"Not well, actually". "She had a hard morning, somehow she had a bad dream last night". "Something relating to her late husband….and she became very agitated". Mandark whispered.
"Mmmm, breakfast didn't go so well, huh?". I.R. whispered. "Not exactly…she became very emotional, very agitated, and was tearful for the better part of 30 minutes". Mandark whispered. "Awww, poor baby". "Somehow, and some way, she might need something that helps her through it". "She might need someone to talk to….or someone therapeutic to look to". I.R. whispered, gently. "She might need an antidepressant, or some form of an SSRI…she's been agitated for weeks". "She needs some form of medication to keep her focused". Mandark whispered.
"There is an occasion….although, right now, she needs someone to confide in….someone with a guiding, gentle, caustic hand that will gently nudge her to healing". "I know she's easily agitated when she thinks about her late husband, or her parents….it's tough when someone experiences loss". "Loss is stressful….and it's even more stressful when someone has as arduous a condition as Bergou's Syndrome". "She needs some sort of therapy….something that will help her". I.R. whispered, gently.
"It is very hard because I've tried to help her….I love her so much….I do, and I wish I was more educated about what kind of therapeutic techniques I could use to help her overcome her stress". "I usually am very well-versed in many things….but for this…I don't have all of the answers yet". "I'm still learning….and I find it very tumultuous". Mandark whispered as he sighed an emotional sigh.
"That's quite alright…..I understand….it's a hard road for caregivers, and for patients". "I know you're in love with Autumn….I see the look in your eyes when you mention her". "You are someone who cares very much about her". "But you need more information about how to comfort her, without feeling emotionally drained, yourself". I.R. whispered, kindly.
"You are correct". Mandark whispered. "There is a way to help her without medicine….because love doesn't work with pills, or behavior-correcting medication". "It works with understanding, education, compassion, and faith". "If you have hope in one another….things will be mutual for both of you". "Just talk to her….talk, and gain the information necessary to make things easier for her". I.R. whispered, gently. "It might be exhausting at times…but love is worth it". "And remember to make time for yourself as well". "You need some revitalizing as well". "There's a necessity in helping yourself….and doing for you". "You need energy too". I.R. whispered, kindly. He straightened his tie. Mandark nodded. "You're right". "That works for any relationship". Mandark whispered. I.R. nodded.
"If she needs a grief counselor, I have some background experience in it". "She can come to me….or you both could come to me with anything". "I've helped orphaned children, widowed young women in their 20's, and young adults with a background of International Adoption, and Autism". I.R. whispered. Mandark nodded. "We'll make arrangements". Mandark whispered. "Thank you so much". "I can't thank you enough". Mandark whispered, gently. Mandark wiped something from his eyes. "She and I will appreciate it". Mandark whispered. Mandark and I.R. whispered for a while, about medical numbers, Autumn's dailies, and blood pressure numbers.
Mandark talked for a while before he went outside, lighting a cigarette, as he sat on the porch. He smoked for a while to decompress, running his fingers through his hair. He smoked for a few minutes, coughing as well. Autumn came outside, as she kept a blanket around her.
Mandark glanced upwards at Autumn, as she rubbed her eyes. "Hi, honey". Mandark said, softly with gentle soothingness. Mandark smiled a kind, comforting smile. "How are you feeling?". Mandark asked, kindly with a gentle, soothing voice. "I'm feeling fine now". "I'm sorry I was upset". "My bad dream was overwhelming". Autumn said. "It's alright, darling". "Everything is ok….never feel bad, or guilty about being human". "We all get upset sometimes, we all go through hard times". "It's ok, darling". Mandark said, kindly with an incredibly soothing, softened voice. "You know I love you, darling". "I love you unconditionally". Mandark smiled, as he opened his arms for a hug. Autumn came to Mandark, as he hugged her from behind, pulling her into his lap.
"Mmmm, you're everything to me". "I need you so much". Mandark whispered, kindly with soothing gentleness. Autumn nodded, as she sat on Mandark's lap while he held her. "I'm so happy I'm beside you…..you've given me everything". Mandark whispered, romantically with soothingness. Autumn nodded, as she looked around. "Thank you". Autumn replied, as she relaxed in Mandark's arms. Mandark kissed Autumn's lips, kindly. They both kissed, as they got close, giving one another the love they needed. Mandark smiled, as he stroked Autumn's cheeks, loving one another, unconditionally.
