I apologize for skipping several episodes. While Ash and the other go on adventures, Winnie stayed behind to train her Pokémon and help Abbie with her fear of Fire Pokémon. Also, so there's no confusion; if a Pokémon can learn a move through a TM(through whatever generation), then it can use it.
My Pov
The Pokémon was tomorrow and was both excited and nervous. This whole time, I had been training not only my main team, but many of my other Pokémon too. Many of them had evolved at least once. I felt confident that I was ready. Everything that I had been preparing for, training for and working for was going to be put to the test.
"Winnie, are you excited for tomorrow?" Abbie asked as she settled into her bed. We had arrived at the Pokémon Center yesterday with Ash and the others. I had even actually gotten to carry the torch with Moltres's flame.
"Yeah. I just hope I have prepared enough." I said.
"You'll do great Winnie. You showed in your battle with me that even if you're at a disadvantage, you can turn the battle around." Brock said.
"Not only that, but you always come up with great strategies like you did in our battle. Misty added.
"Yeah Winnie. I've only seen you battle a few times, but you're probably one of the best Trainers I've seen." Ash said. Coming from Ash, that meant a lot.
"Thanks. I guess we'll see what's in store tomorrow." I said. I turned out the light and turned in.
Next Morning
I followed Ash and the others to the check-in desk. I handed the receptionist my Pokédex and she registered me.
"All right. Now, all that's left is to hit this button to decide where your first match will take place." the receptionist said. She tapped the button and got the light going. I waited for a second and then hit the button. The light slowed down and then stopped on the Rock Field. "So, your first match will be on the Rock Field. Now, the system will choose your opponent." The computer showed my picture and then the picture of a girl popped up. She had green hair and red eyes.
"So that's who I'm facing..." I said.
"Yes. Her name is Natasha. You'll be the fifth match. Be there by two." the receptionist said. I nodded and walked back over to the others. We witnessed Ash's battle and he single-handedly defeated Mandy with his newly evolved Kingler. Soon, it was my turn. I walked into the stadium from the green entrance and took my place in the Trainer's box. My opponent, Natasha, did the same.
"This is the fifth match, taking place on the Rock Field. It is Winnie Evos of Pallet Town facing Natasha of Celadon City. Both Trainers will use only three Pokémon. Now, let the battle begin!" the announcer said. The bell sounded and the match had begun.
"Let's see how well a Trainer from Pallet does. Go, Golem!" Natasha said, throwing her first PokéBall. It opened and revealed a Golem.
"Remy, you're up!" I said, throwing my first PokéBall. It opened to reveal my new Raticate. My Rattata, who I had caught at the very beginning had evolved during training.
"Natasha is starting with Golem while Winnie is starting with Raticate." the announcer said.
"Golem, Rock Throw!" Natasha commanded. Golem heaved itself in the air and came down toward Remy.
"Remy, leap out of the way!" I said. Remy jumped out of the way, just as Golem came down.
"Golem, Mega Punch!" Natasha commanded. Golem got up and charged toward Remy.
"Remy, Dig!" I said. Remy quickly dug underground, causing Golem to stop.
"Winnie's Raticate hides underground to escape Golem's attack. Quick thinking on Winnie's part." the announcer said. For a few moments, you didn't know where Remy would pop up, The Golem suddenly became airborne as Remy emerged from underneath it.
"Now, Water Gun!" I said. Remy shot a spout of water at Golem, hitting dead on. Golem fell to the ground as Remy landed on the ground. The dust settled and revealed Golem had fainted.
"Golem is unable to battle! The victory goes to Raticate!" the ref said, holding up the green flag. Remy ran back to me and leapt into my arms.
"You were fantastic, Remy." I said.
"Raticate!" Remy said.
"Not only did Raticate use Dig to confuse opponent, but it also used an up close Water Gun to finish the battle. What an exciting match this is turning into." the announcer said. Natasha returned Golem and took out another PokéBall.
"Nice work. Let's see how you do against Butterfree!" Natasha said, throwing her second PokéBall. It opened and revealed her Butterfree. I decided to swap Pokémon.
"Remy, return." I returned Remy to his PokéBall. I took out my second one. "Go, Blaze!" I threw the PokéBall and it opened to reveal my new Charmeleon.
"We're now at the second round and we have Natasha using Butterfree and Winnie using Charmeleon." the announcer said.
"Blaze, Slash!" I said. Blaze ran toward Butterfree and jumped.
"Reflect!" Natasha said. A bubble appeared around Butterfree just before Blaze made contact. The impact cause Blaze to fly backwards. "Supersonic!" Blue rings came from Butterfree's eyes and hit Blaze. Blaze started teetering back and forth.
"Blaze, snap out of it!" I cried. He was still teetering back and forth.
"Psybeam." Natasha commanded. A beam of rainbow light shot from Butterfree's eyes and headed toward Blaze.
"Blaze, dodge it!" I yelled. My yell seemed to snap him out of his confusion as he jumped out of the way.
"What a stroke of luck! Charmeleon has snapped out of its confusion and managed to jump out of the way, just in time." the announcer said.
"Fire Spin!" I said. A stream of fire came from Blaze's mouth and surrounded Butterfree. It then close and covered Butterfree in a twister of fire. The fire dissipated and Butterfree fell down to the ground, showing it had fainted.
"Butterfree is unable to battle! The victory goes to Charmeleon!" the ref said. Natasha returned her Butterfree as Blaze ran back to me.
"You were amazing, Blaze!" I said.
"Char!" Blaze said. I returned him and turned to Natasha.
"Natasha is now down to her last Pokémon. Will she turn this around?" the announcer said. Natasha took out her last Pokémon.
"It's up to you. Go, Clefable!" Natasha said. She threw the PokéBall and it opened to reveal her Clefable. This stung a little as I had released my Clefable as it wanted to fly out to space. I took out my third Pokémon.
"Go, Raffia!" I said, throwing the PokéBall. It opened and revealed my new Vileplume.
"Vileplume!" Raffia exclaimed. My Oddish evolved into Gloom during training and I used the Leaf Stone I had to evolve her into Vileplume.
"It's Clefable versus Vileplume. What kind of battle will this match produce?" the announcer said.
"Raffia, Acid!" I said. Purple liquid shot from Raffia's flower and headed toward Clefable.
"Clefable, Minimize!" Natasha commanded. Clefable glowed white before shrinking down. The attack landed on the field, but I didn't know if the attack hit Clefable at all.
"Clefable shrunk itself down to size and is nowhere to be seen!" the announcer said.
"Double Slap!" Natasha said. Clefable suddenly sprang back up a full size right in front of Raffia and began slapping her.
"Bide!" I said. Raffia's outline glowed blue as Clefable repeatedly slapped her.
"Clefable is not letting up on its attack on Vileplume, but Vileplume is storing energy from every hit its taking." the announcer said. That's when Raffia's body became cloaked in light.
"Clefable, get out of there with Minimize!" Natasha called. Just as Clefable began to shrink, Raffia let the energy loose, sending a huge wave of energy forward. Clefable undoubtedly got caught in the attack.
"Raffia, jump and cover the field in Poison Powder!" I said. Raffia jumped up in the air and spun around. From her mushroom came a purple powder and it showered the entire field. Clefable grew back to full size and started shivering.
"Clefable!" Natasha said.
"Petal Dance!" I said. Raffia spun and a shower of petals rained down on Clefable. It fell backwards, fainting from the attack.
"Clefable is unable to battle! The winner is Vileplume! Which means the winner of the fifth match is Winnie Evos of Pallet Town!" the ref said. The stadium roared in applause.
"Winnie won! Winnie won!" Abbie said.
"Oddish! Oddish!" Zinnia exclaimed. I stood there in shock for a minute before the realization that I had won my first field battle sunk in. I jumped for joy as I hugged Raffia.
"Thank you! My victory was possible because of you, Blaze and Remy." I said.
"Plume! Vileplume!" Raffia said. After the matches of the day had concluded, I hurried to the Pokémon Center to get my Pokémon healed up. I returned to the hotel and ate some dinner. These next few days were going to be exciting.
