Sorry I'm skipping over the other field matches. I'm really close to finishing the story and I know it may take me longer if I do every field battle and every battle Winnie will have in the Indigo League.
My Pov
These past few day had been a whirlwind. I managed to defeat my other three opponents for the field battles. I defeated Shawn on the Grass Field with my Wigglytuff Puff, Dot and Blue my Nidorina. Then, I defeated Jamie on the Ice Field with Zippy, Tad and my Ninetales Vixie. Finally, I defeated Annie on the Water Field with Lapi, my Beedrill Spear and Dux the Farfetch'd that I had traded for. Ash had made through all four fields too, but Gary had lost on the last field and was eliminated from the competition. Finally came the day of the finals. We were going to battle until the last three Trainers were left. My number was A-2. My match was actually right before Ash's. He was going up against Ritchie, a Trainer we met who could almost be classified as a smarter version of Ash.
"Are you nervous, Winnie?" Abbie asked me.
"A little bit. I didn't think I'd make it this far in the competition. We'll see how well I do in the finals." I said. I thought back to when Ash battled Ritchie and how Squirtle being put to sleep counted as a knock out, which doesn't make sense to me unless the league is that strict. I know that I can't recall my Pokémon during the match either.
"Good luck, Winnie!" Mrs. Ketchum said. I thought she had come to watch just Ash battle, but she said she also came to cheer me on. I teared up a little when she told me that. Even Professor Oak had come to watch us. I went through the stadium corner's entrance and stepped onto the field.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the are now at the second match of the semi-finals. We have Jonah of Fuchsia City and Winnie Evos of Pallet Town! Who will come out victorious in the match?" the announcer said. I looked toward my opponent, Jonah. I had looked up his profile and saw he primarily used Poison and Bug-type Pokémon. However, he probably had a way of countering their weaknesses.
"This will be a three-on-three match with no substitutions." the ref said. We both nodded. He raised both flags and lowered them. "Begin!" Jonah threw out his first Pokémon.
"Go, Pinsir!" Jonah exclaimed. From the PokéBall appeared a Pinsir. I thought for a minute and chose.
"Go, Fireball!" I said, throwing Fireball's PokéBall. From it, appeared my Flareon.
"Our first battle is Pinsir vs Flareon. This is sure to be an exciting battle." the announce said.
"Pinsir, Vice Grip!" Jonah said. Pinsir ran toward Fireball.
"Pinsir starts off in a full charge toward Flareon!" the announcer said.
"Fireball, Smog!" I said. Smoke spouted from Fireball's mouth and covered the field.
"Flareon's Smog covers the field, blocking the stadium's view of the two Pokémon." the announcer said.
"Pinsir, blow it away with Swords Dance!" Jonah said. The smoke began swirling around and then dissipated as Pinsir spinning slowed. However, Fireball had disappeared. "Where-?" That's when Pinsir looked up and saw Fireball in the air.
"Flamethrower!" I said. Fire spouted from Fireball's mouth and hit Pinsir head on.
"What a move! Flareon used Smog as cover to get right above Pinsir for aerial Flamethrower!" the announcer said. Fireball landed back on the ground and I noticed Pinsir was still standing.
"Pinsir, Rage!" Jonah said. Pinsir then ran and rammed into Fireball. Fireball flipped and landed back on the field. I knew that attack did more damage than it normally would have thanks to Pinsir using Swords Dance. I needed to be careful of my attacks. That's when I remembered the combos I used at the Fuchsia and Viridian Gyms.
"Fireball, Double Team!" I said. Multiple copies of Fireball surrounded Pinsir, spinning around. "Now, Leer!" The copies eyes all glowed, clearly unnerving Pinsir. "Smog." The copies faded as Fireball used Smog again.
"That trick won't work again. We'll blow it away." Jonah said.
"It will when I do this. Flamethrower!" I said. Fireball once again shot Flamethrower, but this time, as the smog cloud. This caused it to explode. The dust settled and at first I thought Pinsir had survived it, but then it fell backwards and was knocked out.
"Pinsir is unable to battle! Flareon is the winner!" the ref said.
"That's it for the first battle, with Winnie pulling ahead with her Flareon." the announcer said. Jonah returned Pinsir and took out his second Pokémon.
"Go, Scyther!" Jonah said, throwing the second PokéBall. It opened and revealed Scyther. This was going to be slightly more difficult. Scyther was more agile than Pinsir, so Fireball was going to have to be careful.
"Wing Attack!" Jonah said. Scyther moved so fast, that it seemed to disappear and reappeared right in front of Fireball as it rammed into him.
"Fireball!" Scyther kept going back and forth, knocking Fireball into the air.
"What a turnaround! Scyther has Flareon backed into a corner as it can't gain a moment to launch an attack!" the announcer said. If I didn't do something, Fireball wasn't going to last much longer. I then thought of an idea, but more than likely, Fireball would be knocked out, but if he could take the Scyther out with him...
"Finish it with Slash!" Jonah said. Scyther raised it's arm, ready to strike.
"Bite!" I said. Fireball jumped up and bit down on Scyther's arm. Scyther tried shaking him off. Scyther then began to fly around erratically.
"Scyther!" Jonah cried.
"Coat yourself with Flamethrower!" I said. While still clamped on to Scyther's arm, fire formed around Fireball's mouth and enveloped both of them. Scyther flew straight toward the ground in a panic. There was a loud explosion as Scyther and Fireball collided with the ground. The dusted cleared and revealed they had both fainted.
"Both Scyther and Flareon are unable to battle. This match is a draw!" the ref said. Both Jonah and I returned our Pokémon.
"What an explosive end to the battle! Flareon surrounded itself in fire and managed to defeat Scyther, despite knocking itself out. Jonah is now down to his last Pokémon and Winnie is on her second." the announcer said. Jonah took out his last Pokémon.
"Go, Muk!" Jonah said, throwing the PokéBall. It opened to reveal Muk.
"Jonah's last Pokémon is Muk. What will Winnie's next Pokémon be?" the announcer said. I thought about it and decided. I took out my second PokéBall.
"Go, Angel!" I said, throwing it. It opened and revealed my Chansey.
"Chansey!" Angel said.
"Winnie's second Pokémon is Chansey. What strategy will she use against Jonah's Muk?" the announcer said.
"Muk, Sludge attack!" Jonah said. Black sludge spewed from Muk's mouth and headed toward Angel.
"Light Screen, Angel!" I said. A blue, glass-like wall appeared in front of Angel, shielding her from the sludge.
"Hyper Beam!" Jonah said. Muk shot a large beam of energy from its mouth.
"Use Minimize to dodge!" I said. Angel shrunk down to small size and started hopping out of the way. Muk's attack missed Angel since she had shrunk herself down. She then grew back to her regular size and Muk was panting. Hyper Beam was a move that left the Pokémon unable to attack for a turn. "Tri Attack!" A three-pointed formed around Angel and an orb formed at the tip of the pyramid. She then fired a beam at Muk, hitting it dead on. After the attack hit, I noticed several dark spots on Muk's body. Tri Attack must have inflicted a Burn status.
"It seems that Chansey's Tri Attack has inflicted Muk with Burn." the announcer said.
"Muk, Screech!" Jonah said. Muk let out a loud scream, causing everyone to cover their ears. "Now, Body Slam!" Muk slammed its hands on the ground and flew into the air. It then began to fall straight toward Angel. Wait. Wait. Now!
"Angel, Counter!" I said. Angel's body became outlined in red as Muk landed on her. Muk was then pushed back into one of the walls by a huge force. Muk had fainted after hitting the wall.
"Muk is unable to battle! The winner is Chansey! Which means, the winner of the second match of the fifth round is Winnie Evos of Pallet Town!" the ref said. The audience roared in applause. Abbie ran and hugged me while Lovie jumped into my arms.
"You won Winnie!" Abbie said.
"Yep! Now I just need to make it through the next round." I said. I thanked Jonah for a great battle and got my Pokémon healed. Soon, it would be Ash's turn.
If anyone's curious as to the Pokémon my opponents had; Shawn(Beedrill, Persian and Magmar), Jamie(Raticate, Kingler and Electabuzz)and Annie(Dewgong, Venomoth and Mr. Mime).
