Chapter 13

As Eren and Historia approach the dungeon, the tension among the three Warriors is palpable, their gazes darting around as they avoid making eye contact. Eren's voice cuts through the silence, firm and unwavering.

"I am aware that each of you entered the Warrior Program in Marley to protect your families," Eren begins, his tone carrying a mix of determination and resolve. "That's precisely why I'm extending an offer. Join us, and we'll ensure the safety of your loved ones. However, if you choose to refuse, we won't hesitate to send you back to Marley, where the Wall Titans will unleash devastation upon the entire continent."

Zeke's expression twists into one of horror as he comprehends the magnitude of Eren's words. "You're considering activating the Rumbling? Do you realize the scale of genocide that would result?"

Eren's gaze meets Zeke's without flinching. "Yes, I understand the implications. But given Marley's history of betrayal and aggression against us, we cannot allow them to survive unchallenged," he asserts.

Historia steps forward, her voice steady but filled with conviction. "The choice is yours. Join us in shaping the future, or stand against us and face the consequences of your allegiance to Marley."

The air crackles with tension as the Warriors weigh their options, knowing that whatever decision they make will shape the fate of not just themselves but entire nations.

Annie's words echo with a sense of pent-up frustration and disillusionment. "My concern has always been returning to live with my father. Marley's lies and manipulations, their propaganda to keep us subdued and inferior, mean nothing to me," she declares, her voice tinged with bitterness.

"Annie?" Pieck gasps, shocked at the sudden betrayal of their allegiance to Marley.

Zeke's voice carries a note of skepticism. "But how can you be certain that unleashing the Rumbling will solve everything? Even if Marley faces destruction, what comes next? Hatred towards Eldians runs deep, not just within Marley but among other nations as well."

"The truth is, Marley has exploited Eldians and Titans for centuries to wage their wars," Historia interjects, her words carrying a mix of anger and determination. "There are surely other nations willing to forge alliances with us, seeing through Marley's deceit."

Eren's gaze hardens as he addresses Zeke. "I'm aware of your plans, but we won't be pawns in your schemes. Those who perpetuate discrimination and hatred have no place in a world striving for peace and equality."

Pieck and Zeke exchange a meaningful glance, silently communicating their shared apprehension and conflicted emotions. Pieck steps forward, her voice tinged with resignation.

"I never imagined I'd be faced with such a decision," Pieck admits, her usual composure faltering slightly. "But if it means ensuring the safety of my loved ones, I... I suppose I have no choice but to consider your offer."

Zeke's expression betrays a mix of reluctance and acceptance. "I've dedicated my life to a cause I believed in, but seeing the reality of the situation... Perhaps it's time to reassess my loyalties," he concedes, his voice heavy with the weight of his realization.

Eren nods, acknowledging their reluctant surrender. "It's not an easy choice, but sometimes sacrifices must be made for the greater good," he remarks, a hint of sympathy in his eyes.

Historia steps forward, offering a reassuring smile. "We understand the difficulty of your decision, but know that you're not alone in this. We'll work together to create a future where everyone can live without fear or prejudice."

Annie's skepticism lingers as she voices her concerns. "Even if we manage to bring our parents here, how can we guarantee their safety amidst external threats?" she questions, her tone reflecting a mix of doubt and caution.

Eren's confidence remains unshaken as he elaborates on their strategic advantage. "Consider this: without Titan powers, what can Marley truly do to threaten Paradis Island? Moreover, we've acquired the War Hammer Titan from the Tybur Family, consolidating all nine Titan powers within our grasp. With this combined strength and the potential of the Rumbling, Marley's ability to oppose us is severely limited," he asserts.

Pieck's astonishment is palpable as she processes this revelation. "You've obtained the War Hammer Titan as well? It's becoming clear just how formidable the Founding Titan's abilities truly are," she remarks, her voice tinged with awe.

Historia's voice carries a note of urgency as she addresses the grim reality they face on Paradis Island. "However, our current situation is far from ideal. The corruption within the military and government leaves Eldians vulnerable and hopeless. That's why we must not only secure our power but also overthrow these oppressive institutions," she declares with conviction.

The gravity of Historia's words weighs heavily on the three warriors, each grappling with the enormity of the task ahead. Overthrowing the government and military is no small feat, and the magnitude of their upcoming struggle begins to sink in.

"Eren, are you sure about this?" Annie asks, her expression a mix of surprise and uncertainty as Eren unlocks the jail door, setting them free. "I'm part of the Military Police. If I'm caught aiding you..."

Eren offers her a reassuring smile. "You'll be our eyes and ears within their ranks," he explains, his confidence unwavering. "A perfect spy to gather crucial information and ensure our plans remain hidden."

Pieck and Zeke exchange a glance, understanding the significance of Annie's newfound role. Pieck nods in silent agreement, while Zeke simply follows Eren's lead.

As they make their way out, Eren turns to Zeke with a more solemn expression. "Mother wants to speak with you in her room. It's important," he informs Zeke, his tone carrying a hint of urgency.

Zeke nods in understanding. "I'll go speak with her right away," he replies, acknowledging the gravity of the situation as they depart to face the challenges that await them.

As Mikasa and the other members of the 104th Corps approach them, Armin's voice carries a mix of concern and disappointment. "Taka filled us in on everything, but it's hard to believe you would just leave us behind like that," he says, his tone tinged with a hint of hurt.

Eren steps forward, his expression serious yet resolute. "We apologize for the secrecy, but every decision we make is with the goal of securing the freedom of our people and protecting them from imminent threats," he explains, his gaze unwavering.

Connie's curiosity peaks as he notices Pieck among them. "Who is she?" he asks, gesturing towards Pieck.

"This is Pieck Finger. She used to be aligned with Reiner and the others, but she's chosen to stand with us now," Historia introduces Pieck, her tone reflecting a sense of trust in their new ally.

Taka, however, voices his doubts. "Are you certain about that? What if it's just a ploy for her to escape?" he questions, his skepticism evident.

Historia's response is firm, her voice carrying a note of conviction. "Pieck's loyalty lies with us now. She joined the Warriors to save her father, and I've ensured the safety and well-being of her family, just as I did for Annie's. The power of the Founding Titan can be used for terrible things, but we choose to wield it responsibly," she asserts.

Pieck nods in agreement. "I have no intention of testing those boundaries, especially now that I no longer possess a Titan within me," she adds, emphasizing her commitment to their cause.

As Hange Zoe rushes forward, her excitement palpable, Eren's thoughts race with memories of her relentless curiosity and fascination with Titans. "So, you must be Eren!" she exclaims eagerly. "I'm Hange Zoe, and I'd love to conduct some research on your Titan form. It would be invaluable for our understanding!"

Eren's expression shifts, a mixture of resignation and understanding crossing his features. 'Of course, Hange's enthusiasm for Titans... I should have anticipated this,' he muses internally, remembering her fervor for unraveling the mysteries surrounding Titans, even amidst the burdens she carries after Erwin's passing.

Before Eren can respond, Levi steps in with his usual brusque demeanor. "Four-Eyes, quit pestering him," Levi interjects, pulling Hange away slightly.

However, Eren's voice cuts through the tension. "It's alright, Levi. If Hange wants information about Titans, I can provide it," he offers, trying to ease the situation.

Hange's eyes light up with excitement at Eren's willingness. "That's fantastic!" she exclaims, already brimming with ideas and plans for their potential research collaboration.

Levi's gaze remains fixed on Eren, his scrutiny unwavering as he seeks to understand Eren's true intentions. "So, Eren, what exactly are your intentions here?" Levi's voice carries a subtle edge, indicating his wariness.

Eren meets Levi's gaze head-on, his expression earnest yet resolute. "My goal is simple: I seek freedom for Eldians. It's clear that there are forces out there determined to strip us of that freedom," he replies, his tone reflecting determination.

Historia steps forward, offering Eren an invitation. "Now that you know the truth, you're welcome to stay here and train with us," she says, extending a gesture of inclusion.

Mina, intrigued by the advanced weaponry used by the group, voices her curiosity. "I've noticed the unique weapons used by your soldiers. Can we train with them as well?" she asks, eager to learn new techniques.

Eren explains their unique situation. "Technically, we're not officially part of the Survey Corps, and our names were listed on the death list. However, if you choose to join our faction, we can work out a deal with Erwin to have you listed as deceased. This way, the military won't suspect any losses," he elaborates, his tone taking on a darker edge.

Mikasa, sensing the gravity of Eren's words, seeks clarification. "What do you mean by that?" she inquires, her concern evident.

Eren's voice carries a bitter undertone as he unveils the harsh reality. "If the military discovers that no one from the Survey Corps perished on this expedition, they'll likely shut down future missions. They're selfish, caring only about their own interests," he explains, his words laden with disillusionment towards the authorities.

Erwin's announcement of allowing the newcomers to stay and listing them as deceased is met with a nod of approval from Eren. He leads the group, including the 104th Corps, to the military training grounds, where they encounter a surprising figure—Lara Tybur.

"Lara Tybur?" Pieck's voice rings out in astonishment as she recognizes the familiar face.

Lara turns towards Pieck with a calm demeanor. "Hello again, Pieck Finger. It seems we've both chosen to defect from Marley," she acknowledges.

Pieck's curiosity peaks as she asks the question on her mind. "But why? Why would you, a member of the Tybur family, side with Eldia?"

Lara's expression hardens slightly as she explains her motivations. "The actions of Marley and my own family have led me to despise them. By aligning myself with Eldia, I retain control of my War Hammer Titan and have recently acquired the Female Titan as well," she reveals.

Pieck's eyes widen in realization. "So you're the one who inherited Annie's powers," she gasps, connecting the dots.

Lara nods affirmatively. "Yes, and I've also established trade agreements with Stammer and Valij, securing advanced weaponry for our cause," she adds, hinting at the origins of the new weapons and resources.

"We need to overthrow the current government," Lara continues, her tone resolute yet calculated.

Pieck absorbs this information with a heavy sigh, understanding the complexities of their situation and the alliances being forged in their struggle for freedom and justice.

Here is a new chapter, and I decide to let the three warriors betray Marley and join Eldia. And for that review to let me add Mikasa, I want to say I am not going to do that in this story. Mikasa will be paired with another people. The last time I did with You Are Free, I got a lot of hateful comments because of that. So I am not risking.
