Chapter Ten
Spike walked along with Little foot wondering where his sister, Duckie and other were. He was gloomy that Duckie had abandoned him for a boy bigmouth. Why! He sniffed. All of a sudden, he heard his name being called out."Spike!" It was Tippy. Spike looked up only to see his old friend, Tippy, approaching with two other spike tails. Tippy had grown to a full size. His tail had long white spike and his back covered with sharp white pointed plates. Besides, Tippy were two other spike tails. They were girls. They were also full grown with large spike tails and pointy plates. They smiled at Spike who was surprised to see them.
"Who?" Spike asked with his eyes wide and his mouth pucker.
"This is my friend, Spike." Tippy introduced Spike. "Spike, this is my friend, Lyla lee." She was dark eyed. Her spike and plates were dark gray, but she had light gray underbelly. Her upper part was dark blue mixed in with shades of dark gray. She was very pretty. "And, this is my cousin, Hitty."
Hitty hid shyly behind her cousin, Tippy, fluttering her eyes timidly at Spike. She was as pretty as Tippy's friend, Lyla lee.
"Hitty!" Spike muttered slowly. He had totally forgotten about Duckie and her boyfriend. He had his own girlfriend. He was twitter patted.
Hitty was a dark eyed beauty with pale green markings on his back. Her bottom was a light tan. Her plates were dark green.
"Spike, Hitty, Hitty, Spike." Tippy kept introducing them.
Soon, all four of them were walking together on a hill near the pond where Duckie and Hadro were still talking to each other.
Somewhere deep in the Mysterious Beyond, a lone female young Tyrannosaurus Rex stalked her prey. She could smell it from afar. Her kind of sharp tooth were known for being good trackers because of their great sense of smell. They could smell their quarry from miles away. They could smell each other from far away. How far, she couldn't tell, but she knew that her kind marked their territories well. She couldn't have trespassers on her land. It was her hunting ground. It was on her hunting ground where she would hunt her prey. She would defend her territory although she would have like to met a young handsome sharp tooth for herself. Her first priority was to eat and to survive. Defending her territory was not the first thing right now since she hadn't gotten a scent from other sharp tooth yet or legible boy Rex. She gasped as she turning her attention once more to her prey. She took another long sniff. Her prey were a few miles off easy to catch with depending on how fast they were going and what they were. Their scent was one she would recognized anywhere. They were one horns. They were moving fast across the grassy plain. She would have to walk fast in order to catch up with them. She could pick off the ones in the back of the herd. They were usually the weaker and older ones. They made easy kills. No point in getting hurt by fighting. The whole point of hunting was to eat and survival.
Survival! That was on Chomper's mind. All those days living with his friends in the Great Valley had not pay off for him as a sharp tooth. Sharp teeth needed to be with other sharp teeth. To be a top sharp tooth, you had to learn to deal with others of your kind. You had learn to fight. You had learn how to hunt different kinds of herb eaters and which ones were the ones that could kill you if you weren't careful. They all defend their young like sharp teeth do. How to attack them and how to defend yourselves. And, most of all, how not to get kill yourself in the process. Chomper sniffed the hot dry air. Chomper thought to himself, Hmm, a herd of one horns heading south in a hurry and a female sharp tooth, one of his kind as well. It had been few days since they had pass this way rapidly. Were they avoiding her? She was hungry. He recognized her scent. It was an old friend, Triara, his only sharp tooth friend that had been a girl. He couldn't help smiling at the thought of her. I wonder if she would remember me. I wonder if she still wants to be with me. I will have to find a way for me to win her love for me. Chomper started to walk towards her scent. He would walked until he found her. No matter how long or how far it was, he would be her mate and she would be his. He would move fast to catch up with her. I will find her!
It was a scorching dry heat that punished the mysterious beyond on this particular oppressive day. A large herd of triceratops were moving along trying to reach a waterhole. It was a big herd being led by an old, huge, blackish beige three horn with black marks all over his body. His neck frill looked worn and gray. His horns were still sharp and pointed .
"When are we arriving at the Great Valley?" Asked a young greenish gray triceratops with brown markings.
The older one huffed annoyed. "Stay back. It is not your place to question my direction."
The other three horns crowded the small, almost dry waterhole that looked more like a muddy puddle. They pushed each other by bumping their mass bodies together while banging their heads against each other so they could quench their undying thirst. Tempers flared as they rammed their horns to get a drink. Snorting and grunting the three horn herd depleted the muddy waters from the puddle.
"Hope we get there soon," complained an old gray female three horn.
"I hope so, too." Grumped an old, dark brown three horn male.
"If I have to leave on my own, I will, for the sake of the our herd," snapped the rebellious greenish gray youth.
"You better be careful! Old Brunt will take it as a threat to his control on the herd. He might think you are challenging his authority!"
"Ah, I am not going to tell him. I am not ready to take the herd with me, at least not yet. I am not going to tell him I am leaving. I am going out to scout all by myself without permission."
"He get mad!" warned the older male one.
"Why?" questioned the younger, "I am not a friend or a relative of his. I am just another young bull. Another belly to feed and other potential rival to his lead. He will be glad I have left. He won't even notice me missing from the herd. I will find the Great Valley myself! Then, I will return and lead the herd to safety before it is too late."
"Ha! Good luck, finding the Great Valley yourself. It's when your come back to tell the herd about you finding the Great Valley, that will be something. It is then, you are going to really need luck. They won't believe you and if they do, they aren't going to go against Brunt. You'll be lucky if he still wants you in his herd after this little adventure you are planning. Mark my words, young one, you better off dead, then to go against Brunt."
The young three horn had no idea what was going to happened when he did find the Great Valley. He had no idea who he would met in the Great Valley anymore than how he find the Great Valley. He just left.
Little foot walked along by himself through the tall trees. There was a small pond where he put his head down to look at it. He went down to drink.
"Hello, Little foot." A voice came out of nowhere. It was Ali. Little foot looked up. Ali smiled at him.
"Don't you remember me?" she said. She had grown into a beautiful, tall, pink longneck. Her blue eyes sparkled like the pond's water surface in the sunlight. He was startled.
"Ali, you are back!"
"Yes, I am !"
"To stay." Asked Little foot. Ali didn't answered. "How are you, Little foot?" She asked him.
"Fine, and you? "Little foot answered. "I miss you, Little foot." Ali replied. "I miss you, too." Little foot told her smiling.
At the moment, Little foot was so happy that he sighed. He didn't care that he felt lighter than air. Little foot and Ali strolled together as they moved across the Great Valley. Little foot swore he was floating on air. Maybe being twitter patted wasn't a bad thing, after all. While Ali ad Little foot were slowly strolling and chatting around the Great Valley. Rhett ran up to them. "So how do you like the Great Valley Protector ? His mother told her to stay and protect the Great Valley forever and never leave. "You are a far wanderer, Ali. We are far wanderer. Can you stay here? Or, will he leave the Great Valley and break his promise to his long dead mother about protecting the Great Valley forever? Rhett reminded . At that moment, those words Rhett had said reminded Little Foot of the foolish promise he had made to his mother long ago before she had die. He finally wanted to be with Ali, but did she want him enough to stay with him in the Great Valley? Ali was almost the same as she was when she was younger except bigger, taller, older and prettier. Rhett was also the same. He acted the same and looked almost the same. He was tall as Little foot, big as Little foot, old as Little foot, but still not as handsome as Little foot. He was still the mean, little long neck as ever. Little foot couldn't let him see that he was hurt.
"We are just walking and telling each other what was happening around the Great Valley." Little foot answered.
