Sukuna lazily followed Pain as he reflected on their fight. Meanwhile the injured Uraume directed death glares at the orange haired man at every opportunity. She was not pleased that the man who had defeated her glorious master, the audacity!

Sukuna directed his bored gaze around the large hallway. They were currently in some mansion in the land of fire and were on their way to meet with the others members of the group Sukuna now found himself apart of. Apparently Sukuna was to be assigned a partner, Sukuna was not pleased with that decision.

From the sounds of it, Pain had no intentions of recruiting Uraume and that meant he would be cut off from his only chef. While some might think him incapable of the feeling, but Sukuna had come to care for the white haired woman. Not in a romantic sense but more in the student teacher sense.

They eventually came to a stop in front of a large red door, as one of the orange haired men opened the door, Konon handed him a matching cloak to hers and Pains without a word. He took it and wrapped the cloak around his waist, leaving his chest bear as usual. He entered through the now opened door to find nine similarly cloaked figures standing in a relatively empty room.

All turned to them as they entered, staring curiously at Sukuna. He didn't recognize any of them which wasn't surprising, Sukuna didn't spend time flipping through the newspapers. He was always too busy massacring and cannibalizing his fellow man for that. Sukuna looked around the room and returned every glare and hard look he received with one of his own.

"This is the final member of the Akatsuki, Ryomen Sukuna." Pain announced. Sukuna was pleased at the looks he received after that. Many, if not all, of the people in the room recognized him and some even showed a little respect.

"Him! He's Ryomen Sukuna? The immortal demon? He doesn't look all that tough, I don't sense a hint of chakra from him!" Declared a man with light purple hair that was tied back, he wore his cloak half on, exposing a shoulder.

Before anyone could agree or disagree with the fool Sukuna had already taken care of the problem. The man suddenly found himself in desperate need for a head. The remainder of his body then fell backwards onto the ground to join the head.

"Hey, you bastard! Kakuza! Fix my head so I can sacrifice this fool!" The headless man yelled at a nearby masked man.

"No, maybe this will finally teach you to keep your mouth shut." Kakuza responded as he watched his head roll across the ground before kicking it away when it neared his foot.

"An immortal huh, I've never met another one." Sukuna said, ignoring the man's angry shouts that were directed toward Kakuza and himself. Sukuna wondered if the man had a power like his but quickly dismissed the thought, the only one like Sukuna was Sukuna.

"Oooh, do you also worship lord Jashin, the one and only god?" He said with a calmer and interested tone.

"No, the only god I believe in is myself." Sukuna said with a grin, this remark only served to make the man lose it even more and to start yelling about heretics.

"You are late." A large but short man said as he walked up to Pain. "You now how much I hate when people are late."

"Yes, it took longer than expected to… convince Sukuna to join us." Pain responded in the same monotone voice as always.

"He was that tough huh, makes me want to introduce him to some of my art." A blonde haired man said as he walked up behind the short man.

"Your art could never compare to even a fraction of Sukuna-sama's." Uraume said in the most disgusted tone any of them had ever heard.

As Uraume started to argue with the one eyed man over whose art was better, Sukuna turned to Konon and asked "So, who's my partner?"

"Him." She said as he pointed to a black haired man standing in a corner, looking on into the room. The man glanced over at them and he was instantly on guard.

Sukuna gave the man a once over before approaching him. "You look familiar.." Sukuna said As he got far too close to him for the man's comfort.

"I am Itachi Uchiha." He said in a bored yet hard tone.

"Ah, I remember you now, I thought you'd be bigger but I guess size isn't everything." He said. He was looking down on Itachi quite a bit, given that he was about a foot and a half taller than him.

Sukuna stared directly into Itachi's spinning sharingan with no fear, normally Itachi's eyes gave off a natural sense of unease but Sukuna seemed to be unaffected. Sukuna turned away from him and directed his next words toward his new leader.

"So leader, which beast am I going after?" Sukuna questioned, eager to now his target.

"The three tails, it is currently sealed inside of the Mizukage of the hidden mist village. If you do not want a repeat of this morning you will bring him to me alive." He said in the only other tone he seemed to have, a threatening one. All Sukuna could offer in response was a large, merciless, grin.

Sukuna walked through the dense mud of the land of water with little difficulty. The land was humid and full of bugs but Sukuna didn't mind much. Itachi followed behind him but moved with the graceful and calculated steps of a veteran shinobi instead of Sukuna's large and powerful ones.

"What are your specialty's? If we are to be partners we must now each others strengths." Itachi asked as he leaped over a particularly large puddle.

"The only thing you need to know is to not get in my way." Sukuna responded arrogantly. Sukuna was tempted to just kill him, he seemed pretty strong and Sukuna would learn a lot from the fight. He did not however. If he were to kill the clan killer, Pain would most likely come after him and while Sukuna was very hard to kill, he was not truly immortal, at least not yet.

"I do not wish to die because of your arrogance, tell me, if you wish to survive the coming conflict that is." Itachi said in a slightly irritated tone.

"You talk of my abilities but share nothing of your own, why don't you share first and I'll return the favor. If I feel like it." Sukuna responded childishly, still leading the way.

"I have already shown you my abilities." Itachi said as the trees started to twist and warp. The mud started to wrap around sukuna's legs, keeping him in place.

Sukuna's chest started to rumble and shake and a moment later a malicious laugh erupted from his lips. After a moment of laughter Sukuna responded.

"I've read of genjutsu but have never seen one so masterfully performed. Too bad I won't get to see more." The immortal demon said as the world around them started to crack and crumble. Moments later, both Sukuna and Itachi were standing in a very similar looking spot, this time without all the genjutsu fuckery.

Itachi didn't look surprised at the calapse of his illusion however. He simply stood there, studying his new partner. "Show me your power." Itachi said simply.

Sukuna just grinned as he complied.

Sukuna cracked his neck as he stood up from his seated position on the tree that'd had fallen not to long ago. He looked around, observing the destruction. Many trees had been cut down and even more had been turned to charcoal. Nether looked any worse for wear, besides a few cuts on Itachis clothes and a few scorch marks on Sukuna's.

Neither for them had gone all out, Sukuna had not used his chakra and hadn't really tried with his slices and Sukuna got the feeling there was more to his partners eyes then simply seeing better.

Neither truly wanted to kill the other in their fight, they were just testing the waters. They each had a good understanding of each other's capabilities now.

"We should not delay any further." Itachi said as he turned in the direction of the three tails without bothering to wait for a response. Sukuna just smiled at the arrogance of the man before he followed.

The Mizukage was not expecting what Sukuna was expecting, he did not know what he was expecting exactly but it definitely wasn't this. The 4rd Mizukage was one of the youngest kage in history and it showed. He was considerably smaller than Sukuna and only came up to his waist. Itachi had started the fight by separating the kages guards, leaving Sukuna to face the kage by himself while the clan killer was busy. Sukuna wasn't complaining though, he always did best alone.

"Who are you?" The young man said as he looked up at the man towering over him. He was bear chested with only a black cloak decorated with red clouds around his waist. He recognized the man from a recent bingo book, he was Ryomen Sukuna, the so called immortal demon. While Yagura didn't believe in the immortal description of the man, he was still aware of the man's power and would not take him lightly.

The muscle bond man did not answer his question, instead he charged Yagura head on. Yagura readied his staff and blocked a right hook before ducking a left hand. He responded with a stab at the demons stomach with the hook of his weapon.

The result was not what he expected, he expected to pierce the man's innerds and disembowel him. Instead it felt like he'd just hit a metal tougher than steel. Sukuna capitalized on the surprise and confusion Yagura felt and before he knew it, he was being cut to pieces.

Yagura backed away and used a powerful water jutsu to defend himself from the storm of invisible cuts, it was only partially effective. Yagura still received many cuts across his body. They were not very deep though, they were the kind of thing a rookie medical nin would practice on. But hundreds of these tiny slash's all over his body could prove dangerous. They were also very painful, every inch of his body burned with white hot pain and Yaguras pain tolerance was of little help. Yagura then huffed out a breath before he used one of his signature jutsu.

"Water Clone Jutsu!" Yaguru yelled out as hundreds of clones, all cloaked in tailed beast chakra, appeared around him.

Uraume was not happy with her current situation, not at all. Life was perfect before Pain came along, she got to spend every second with her master or on the hunt for more art pieces. But then that emo prick had to come along and ruined it.

Uraume had to do something about it, she would get her master back if it was the last thing she did. She was currently located on the edge of the land of water. It'd been a week since she last saw her master, it felt like an eternity though. Uraume would get her revenge on the orange hair dick, no matter what.

But she was not strong enough at the moment and that infuriated her. Her master was right when he said power was the path to freedom. If Uraume wanted anything she would have to become strong enough to claim it for herself, if she was not powerful enough to do that then she did not deserve whatever it was that she wanted.

Uraume then recalled another of her masters teaching, the battle field was the best teacher. Uraume partially disagreed because her master was the best teacher, but Uraume still understood the point. Uraume would follow in her masters footsteps, she would slaughter and destroy in till she was powerful enough to kill the red cloud bastard and reclaim her rightful place in the world. A place by her wonderful masters side.

She dropped down from her position on the tree tops and landed on the outskirts of the forest she was currently in. She looked out at the bustling town and sneered in discussed. All those humans living their lives and being happy, Uraume would never understand how people could live in such a way. How could someone so weak live such happy lives, knowing that any mildly strong person could come along and destroy them and their way of life, and they wouldn't even be able to put up a fight.

Uraume saw the irony in it though, she was that naive not too long ago. She thought that as long as her master was around then her life would be just fine, but she was wrong. She was in her current position because of she former naivety.

All this just reaffirmed her desire to become stronger. So with an unwavering goal in mind, she rushed to dedicate another piece of art to her master.

Akio was having a great day, it was his birthday after all. He'd already had his cake and opened his presents. He'd had a blast with all his friends and was now going to bed with a smile on his face, it had been the best 7th birthday ever.

Akio woke up to a scream and the sound of heavy footsteps and the clink of armor. Akio shivered, it was to cold in his room. He jumped out of bed and rushed out the door, he was so curious about what was going on.

To his misfortune though, his mother spotted him on his way to the front door and stopped him in his tracks.

"Where do you think you're going? Go back to your room!" His mother yelled, his mommy never yelled. He would usually fight back but the tone in his mom's voice beat the spoiled brat out of him.

He gave a small nod before he moped back to his room. Once there, he hopped back into bed and wrapped himself tightly in his blankets. After a few minutes of silence and trying to get to sleep, Akio stood back up and opened his window. 'What does mommy know' he thought to himself as he climbed through his window into the alleyway. She was always worried over nothing and Akio was much too curious about the commotion to just sleep through it.

He ran to the village square where he heard the most noice and instantly regretted his decision to disobey his mother. Standing in the middle of dozens of armored corpses was a woman. She was the most beautiful woman Akio had ever seen. She had an unusual color to her hair, it looked like freshly fallen snow. Her skin was flawless and smooth and her movements were graceful and majestic.

The corpses around her were frozen and the expressions on the dead men were filled with terror. Akio tried to back away from the beautiful woman but he was too terrified to watch where he was going and slipped on some ice. Akio let out a yelp of surprise, that, and the sound of his back hitting the ground caught the white haired women's attention.

The woman turned to him and the face she made was not the one Akio had expected. Her expression was similar to the one his mother made when she found a rat in their pantry.

"Wait! Please don't kill m-" Akio's sentence was cut short when the woman released a breath and incased him in ice. The last thing the 7 year old boy saw was a beautiful face and a flash of ice.
