The sun rose on a new day over the kingdom of Heart.

It had been a crazy night for the group, as they had suffered another attack by the Foot led by Stockman, Bebop and Rocksteady, who were accompanied by a new mutant creation, a chimera Mikey named Jeffrey.

Although they were able to defeat the evil mutants, it was much more difficult to fight the chimera.

It would have managed to take Sisu had it not been for Karai, who transformed into a mutant snake to defeat it for good.

After that, the Kumandra's had questions about how Splinter's human daughter could do that and decided to leave it for the next morning.

Now the group was in a room, all sitting around a table to talk about the main issue.

"Okay, it's time to get answers." said Raya.

"I know. We had a feeling this would end up happening." said Leo.

"So, you're a mutant too?" asked Sisu.

"Only partly." said Karai.

"What do you mean?" asked Namaari.

Even though she had to, Karai felt nervous about having to tell them the truth.

It was then that she noticed a hand on her shoulder and turned her head to see Leo giving her a confident smile along with a nod.

"It's your story, Miwa. You decide if you want to tell it or not." said Splinter.

Karai gave both her brother and father a smile and gave them a nod in thanks before proceeding to tell them the truth.

"You already know my story, don't you? How I was kidnapped and raised by Shredder, making me believe it was Splinter who killed my mother and almost killing my real family." said Karai.

"You don't have to blame yourself for that. After all, you were fooled by that guy." said Boun.

"Well, you must assume it was a shock for me to find out the truth. I had a hard time believing it, so I went to Shredder to ask him about it. You know what he did? He confirmed everything and then locked me up." said Karai.

"I had heard of parents punishing their children in their room, but that's going too far." said Sisu with a frown.

"Of course, my brothers came and rescued me. I wasn't entirely happy, though. I was angry at him, for killing my mother, for everything he did to me and my real father. I wanted nothing more than to make him pay for it, so I went after him to kill him." said Karai clenching her fists.

"I understand you completely." said Raya remembering when, after Sisu's death, she wanted nothing more than to make Namaari pay for what she did.

"But you couldn't beat him, could you?" asked Namaari.

"That's right, he was too strong for me and not only locked me up again, but he also left me hanging over a mutagen tank." said Karai.

"So, not only does he kidnap you, lie to you and lock you up, but he also wanted to mutate you?" asked Tong angrily.

"Actually, he didn't really want to mutate me." said Karai.

"What?" asked Sisu.

"It turns out that Shredder had set up a trap and was using Karai as bait." said Leo.

"The trap consisted of luring us in and then dumping the mutagen on us." said Raph.

"What?" asked Raya in confusion.

"The mutagen in that tank was altered by Stockman so that anything it came in contact with would turn into a snake," said Donnie.

"Snake? Why?" asked Boun.

"Because snakes are the natural predator of rats." said Mikey.

"Wait, you mean…?" asked Sisu understanding Shredder's plan.

"Yes. Shredder intended to turn my children into snakes so they would come after me and devour me." said Splinter.

That surprised Kumandra's group to learn how cruel and ruthless Shredder was.

"Unfortunately, when they got there, a fight broke out and during the fight, Shredder accidentally cut the chain holding me on the tank and… I fell off." said Karai.

Noi and ongis put their hands to their mouths in shock.

"At first, I acted like a wild animal would and almost attacked my family, but luckily, the mutagen was somehow altered, so I managed to keep my mind normal and after that, I ended up running away and wandering the streets for months." said Karai.

"But you seem fine now, don't you?" asked Sisu trying to be positive.

"Not quite. Shredder managed to capture me again and that's when Stockman introduced his new mutant invention. Brain worms." said Karai.

"Brain worms?" asked Raya.

"Stockman had developed a serum to control people's brains and he tied the serum to worms so they would go into your brain directly." said Donnie.

"Yuck. I didn't need to hear that." said Boun disgusted and horrified at the idea of insects entering people's heads.

Noi covered her mouth while the three ongis did the 'See, hear and shut up' poses.

"A way to manipulate the minds of others into obeying without question. It's absolutely disgusting." said Tong.

"So, Shredder was manipulating you?" asked Raya.

"Yes. I was his puppet for a while, but my family managed to free me and we got back together" said Karai.

That brought a smile to Kumandra's face that the kunoichi had returned to her family once again, though they also felt bad for her because of all she had suffered.

"However, even though I can control my mutation, sometimes I'm afraid of losing control." said Karai.

"Is that why you didn't want to be with us?" asked Boun.

"Yes, because if I don't keep it under control, I could end up hurting someone and I would never forgive myself." said Karai.

It was then that she noticed something hugging her and looked down to see Noi and ongis hugging her.

Karai couldn't help but smile at the gesture and hugged them back.

Boun and Tong were angry at Shredder for everything he did.

Raya and Sisu felt sympathy for the kunoichi, as they both also suffered the loss of loved ones and went through various things before being reunited with them.

Namaari was the one who was the most surprised.

In fact, she remembered that night, when Leo cheered her up, that he said he met someone who committed terrible acts in the past, but now she was a different person and she could see from the beginning that this person was Karai.

However, while she knew what she was doing might be wrong, Karai didn't have that choice, as she was manipulated and deceived by a man who had no heart.

"Look, I hate to break up the state, but we need to focus on the important issue." said Casey.

"He's right." began Karai placing Noi and the ongis on the table. "This is the second time Shredder's goons have attacked us."

"Yes, but we've taken them down again." said Boun being optimistic.

"Still, they will attack again and maybe much harder than before." said Donnie.

"He's not going to give up, are you?" asked Sisu.

"Well, no. Shredder wants you and he won't stop until he gets his hands on you." said Raph.

"So what do we do?" asked Namaari.

"We could leave Heart. That way, we could throw them off and draw their attention away from the kingdom." said April.

"I agree with that." said Raya.

"I'm afraid that might not be a good idea. If Shredder knows about Sisu's existence, then he will know about the other Kumandra kingdoms. Even if we went to another kingdom, we would only be passing the problem on to that kingdom." said Splinter.

"Besides, he could attack Heart in our absence so that we would be divided and it would be easier for him to capture Sisu." said Leo.

"So what do you suggest we do? Stay and wait for the next attack?" asked Tong.

"On our best alternative. That way, we can be more prepared for when they show up again." said Leo.

They all agreed with him.

Though they were also worried, wondering what Shredder's next move would be.

In New York, in a certain lair, a certain mutant fly fell to the ground after receiving a heavy blow.

"Pleazzzze, Mazzzzter ZZZZhredder, forgive me!" pleaded Stockman as Shredder stood before him.

"Not only have you failed to capture the dragon, but you've lost a valuable mutant weapon with which I could have finished off Yoshi and the turtles." began Shredder angrily before grabbing Stockman by the collar of his clothes and lifting him to his full height. "You're very lucky I need your knowledge or I would have finished you off long ago." said Shredder before throwing the mutant fly to the ground. "Get out of my sight!"

Without being told twice, Stockman quickly flew out of the room.

"What do we do now, Master Shredder? Do we send more foot-bots to attack?" asked Tiger Claw.

"No. It is clear that attacking them directly has done no good. As long as the turtles and their allies, as well as Yoshi and Karai, are there, it will be difficult to get the dragon." said Shredder.

"So what do you suggest then?" asked Tiger Claw.

"If Muhammad doesn't go to the mountain, the mountain goes to Muhammad." said Shredder.

That made Tiger Claw smile, for he understood his master's plan easily.

At the Kraang time base, everything was proceeding normally until the communication device began beeping and Rahzar and Fishface stood in front and kneeling just as Shredder's hologram appeared.

"Master Shredder." said the two evil mutants.

"I'm sick of so much failure." said Shredder.

"Master, give me one more chance. I promise you I will bring the dragon to you even if it is by dragging myself." said Rahzar.

"No. You won't go after the dragon." said Shredder.

"Then… Will I go?" asked Fishface.

"Neither of us will go because I don't want you to capture the dragon." said Shredder, much to the confusion of the two evil mutants and the prisoner.

"Uh… I don't understand. Why?" asked Rahzar confused, since his master's original plan was to capture the dragon.

"We've been trying to go after the dragon, but this time, it will be the dragon coming at us." said Shredder.

"Ha. Good luck with that. Sisu won't come your even if you offer him all the riches of your world." said Somwang.

"Not unless we have something she really wants." said Shredder.

The two evil mutants smiled as they understood what their master was really saying.

"Oh, I think I know what she wants most." said Rahzar.

"And it's the same thing those turtles and little friends of theirs want." said Fishface.

"Very well. I'll send Tiger Claw and reinforcements to help you. You better not fail me this time." said Shredder before the communication ended.

"I hope you are comfortable in your cell, because you will soon have company." said Rahzar.

"What does he mean? What does Sisu so badly want to…?" thought Somwang before something flashed through her mind, something that made her show a horrified expression. "Wait, are they going to…? Namaari, you and the others better be prepared for what's coming."

After two attacks in a row from the Foot, Benja further increased the security of the kingdom by adding more guards to patrol the streets of the kingdom watching for any suspicious activity.

He knew it would scare people, but he couldn't let his guard down knowing the type of person they were dealing with.

At that moment, Karai was standing on a balcony of the palace, looking out at the scenery.

"Beautiful, isn't it?"

Karai turned her head to the side to see Namaari approaching her.

"Yes, one doesn't get to behold such sights very often." said Karai turning her gaze to the horizon.

"Listen, Karai, I…" began Namaari.

"If you're going to tell me you're sorry for what happened to me, I thank you." said Karai.

"It's not that. I just want to tell you that… I know what it feels like to make terrible mistakes." said Namaari.

"I do. My brothers have told me about everything you did" said Karai.

"Everything?" asked Namaari.

"Everything and I don't blame you for it, but do you know what the difference is between you and me?" asked Karai receiving a head shake from the girl. "That you knew what I was doing, while I, at first, knew nothing."

"I don't blame you for it either. Shredder tricked you and then controlled your brain." said Namaari.

"I know, but when I was under the brain worm's control, I was aware of everything it did and yet I couldn't do anything. It was like being in control of a machine that wouldn't obey you no matter how much you resisted." said Karai.

"However, they managed to free you, you are no longer under that man's control." said Namaari.

"Maybe, but I still feel his shadow haunting me. In fact, sometimes I am afraid that he will recapture me and control me again, forcing me to kill all my family and friends." said Karai with her head down.

It was then that she noticed a hand on her shoulder and looked up to see Namaari kneeling at her height and giving her a smile.

"That won't happen. Now you have your father, your brothers, your friends and us. None of us will ever allow that man to have control over you again." said Namaari.

"Do you really think so?" asked Karai.

"A good friend of mine taught me that you can achieve great things if you trust people and if you trust us, we will achieve that too." said Namaari.

Karai couldn't help but smile at her friend's words, to the point where she felt like she was going to cry.

Suddenly, she lunged towards her and gave her a hug, which surprised her before returning the hug.

What they didn't know was that they had had two spectators.

Leo and Raya had intended to talk to Karai to cheer her up after she confessed the horrible things Shredder did to her, but they stopped in a corner as soon as they saw her with Namaari and they both smiled as they saw that she had cheered her up in a way they didn't expect to get.

Meanwhile, on the outskirts of Heart, Rahzar and Fishface stood with a battalion of foot-bots.

Between the two evil mutants stood Tiger Claw.

"Is this the place?" asked Tiger Claw.

"Yes, this is where the dragon is located." said Rahzar.

"As well as the turtles and the rest of their friends." said Fishface.

"Remember. Ignore the dragon and concentrate on your part of the mission." said Tiger Claw.

"Of course, but don't blame us if any turtles get hurt in the process." said Rahzar showing his claws.

"As long as we achieve our goal, the rest doesn't matter." said Tiger Claw.

"Oh, I like it when they say that." said Fishface.

The three mutants prepared to begin the next attack on the kingdom and this time, it would be very different from the previous ones.

AN: Hi everyone, how are you liking this story, have you noticed the changes yet?

I told you it would be similar to 'Frozen Turtles' and 'Elementary Turtles', but at the same time very different.

It's the same solution, but using different ingredients.

Anyway, there will be more changes later in the story, so if you expect such a thing to happen, it may or may not.

I can't read your minds.

See you in the next chapter!
