The beautiful night city of New York was filled with many people walking around as a small orange male fox was roaming around the streets as the small animal pondered on where to go next.

"Look at all the beautiful people walking around freely and being able to go where they want.." Toby had thought to himself as he made animal noises that indicated that he was sad due to him wishing he was a human as he proceeded to walk around the city as he eventually wandered into a more residential area where people usually lived.

"So, this is where humans usually sleep and eat at eh? It looks very comfortable!" Toby had thought to himself as he made animal noises of excitement as he ran closer towards the buildings until he noticed that one of them had lights on which piqued his curiosity.

"So bright, I must find out where the source is…" Toby had thought to himself once more as he started to run towards where the light was coming from and much to his surprise he had seen a young girl in the window and it was no other than Nancy.

"Woow, She's so beautiful. I never saw a human girl this pretty before…" Toby thought to himself as he felt the windy breeze rushing towards his body which made him whimper due to the cold as he used his arm to gently knock on the window which caught the attention of Nancy.

"I wonder who'll be knocking at this time of the night…" Nancy had spoken to herself as she looked out of the window to see the young fox which made her quickly walk towards the window as she opened it.

"Awww, what's a poor fox like you doing around here? I'll let you stay in for the night since it's cold outside.." Nancy had spoken to the young fox in a kind and gentle tone of voice as she gently picked up the young fox and proceeded to pet it gently which made Toby close his eyes in bliss.

"She smells so nice, It has a rather rosy yet jasmine scent to it. Simply beautiful…" Toby thought to himself as he continued to allow himself to be petted by Nancy as he and the young girl went towards where Nancy's room was located as the girl opened the door to reveal her room.

"You must be cold and hungry so I'll fetch you a blanket and some food while you wait here, okay?" Nancy had spoken to the young fox in a gentle tone of voice as she gently setted the young fox down on her bed as she quickly left the room to gather the things for the fox.

"What's her name? She's truly been nice and kind to me.." Toby thought to himself as he looked around the room as it was rather fancy which made him rather curious to know more about human life.

"I wish I could talk like a human but I can only make little fox sounds…" Toby thought to himself as he whimpered in sadness while looking over to see a photo of Nancy with Anya and Charlotte as he observed the photo with great concentration.

"These must be the girl's friends, they seem so nice and kind.." Toby had thought to himself as he heard the sound of the door opening to reveal Nancy holding a small blanket in one hand while holding a basket of berries which made the young fox jump in great anticipation as he ran towards Nancy.

"It's not much but It's the least I can do.." Nancy had spoken to the young fox with a smile on her face as she set the bowl of berries down and wrapped the blanket around the young fox as the fox began to eat its meal.

"It's so warm and nice here. The berries are also very sweet and good as well…" Toby thought to himself as he continued to eat his meal as this was seen by Nancy who had a warm smile on her face.

"You don't have a name don't you? Let's call you Toby! Does that sound good?" Nancy had spoken to the young fox in a cute tone of voice as she knelt down to pet the young fox before eventually preparing herself for bed as this was seen by Toby.

"Oh yeah, It's usually that time of the night so my guess is that Nancy is getting ready for her rest" Toby had thought to himself as he finished up his berries and waited for Nancy to set him up a place of rest.

"Luckily I have some spare dog beds for Toby so I'll just fetch those" Nancy had spoken to herself as she went towards her closet to gather the bed for the young fox as she began to set up everything for Toby.

"She's so attentive and wonderful, I truly wish I could have the ability to tell her…" Toby had thought to himself as he felt himself being picked up by Nancy as this made him feel warm inside as he was gently placed on the small bed as this was followed with Nancy slowly wrapping the blanket around him.

"Good Night, my sweet little fox" Nancy had spoken to the young fox as she knelt down and gently gave him a small kiss on the forehead before going towards her bed as Nancy turned off the lights so that she could get ready for her night's rest.

*6:30am*

A few hours had passed as the twilight sky illuminated the room in which had woken up Toby as the young fox had walked around the room to see Nancy asleep.

"I guess I should leave since it's morning but I will always thank the girl for her kindness. I never got the chance to learn her name though…" Toby had thought to himself as backed up before running towards Nancy's bed as he jumped on bed.

"Thank you for everything, I truly appreciate it…" Toby thought to himself as he gently nuzzled Nancy on her forehead before looking over to the right side of his direction to see Nancy's name on one of her papers which made him filled with joy.

"Nancy? That's her name! I finally know the kind girl's name! Such a beautiful name for a wonderful human being…" Toby thought to himself as he made small animal noises of joy as he had taken one final look around Nancy's room before going towards the window.

"Here goes nothing!" Toby thought to himself as the young fox jumped out of the window as he quickly landed on his feet while he eventually proceeded to run away from Nancy's home as the young fox had taken one final look at the beautiful home.

"Nancy, I'll be returning but I must go back to my other fellow fox friends like how you must go to your human friends so I guess this is goodbye…" Toby had thought to himself as he felt in his heart that things were gonna be just brighter as he started to run off and was ready for more adventures that were awaiting him.
