(Carrie's Milk Delivery)

*June 22nd, 1941*

*New York*

It was a rather cold yet warm morning as Carrie was currently with Mr George as the pair were preparing to deliver milks from door to door as this excited the young girl.

"Today is your first day for your summer job so I'm expecting good behavior and performance from you, okay?" Mr George had spoken to Carrie as he was met with her nodding her head in agreement.

"Don't worry! You can count on a gal like me so you don't have to worry one bit" Carrie had spoken back to her boss as she was met with laughter from Mr George.

"We'll see about that, I know your good friends with Anya and the others so I hope you set a good example for them but let's not waste any further time cause we have milk to deliver so I want you to just deliver these milks to each home, okay?" Mr George had advised his employee as he handed the girl a cartoon containing a few milks.

"Sure thing, I won't take too long so you won't have to worry about that but I'll be back in this spot in roughly twenty minutes if that's alright with you" Carrie had spoken back to Mr George as her words were met with the young man nodding his head in understandment.

"No Problem, That's actually the game plan anyways so please take your time and be sure that the milks are properly delivered to the doorsteps, okay? I'll see you soon!" Mr George had advised Carrie once more as he was met with Carrie nodding her head in agreement as the pair eventually went their separate ways for the time being.

"Man, this summer sure has been boring so far since most of my friends are busy recently but this summer job should pass time.." Carrie had spoken out to herself as she delivered the first milk on one of the stoops of the homes as she walked downstairs to do the same thing to the next home as she was stopped by a boy.

"Hey beautiful, What's a pretty girl like you doing here in these fine hours?" The Boy had asked Carrie as he observed the carten of milks that she was holding as this made her cautious.

"I'm doing my job but if you want milk then I'm afraid I can't give you one since it's only for people with homes" Carrie had spoken back as she let out a smile in hopes of driving the boy away however he remained in her presence.

"How boring, so how about this? Come with me and I can show you a mighty good time…" The Boy had offered Carrie as he was met with a disgusted look from the girl before he heard her speak once more.

"No, I already like someone so better luck next time so if you excuse me, I'm working right now so leave me alone" Carrie had spoken back as she continued to walk as she walked past the boy to deliver the second glass of milk on the doorstep as this was watched by him.

"Fine, suit yourself…" The Boy uttered out in defeat as he turned around to walk the other way as Carrie managed to hear this as she let out a smile in victory.

"My heart belongs to Russell and no one else. I hope that me and Russell can live together as one big happy couple for the rest of our lives.." Carrie had thought to herself while she continued to deliver the glass of milks to each doorstep as she eventually sat down so she could take a breather.

"Gosh! I don't know how Mr George could do this all day! I'm lucky that my job is only for an hour or else I might go crazy" Carrie had spoken out to herself as she looked up to see the beautiful morning sky as she thought about her friends once more which made her smile.

"On the bright side. I'm glad my friends are having a good time so far so I shouldn't complain honestly.." Carrie had thought to herself once more as she continued to rest on the stoop as she saw a rather familiar hand waving at her which alerted her as it belonged to Russell.

"Carrie? I didn't know you delivered milk? Is this a summer job or something?" Russell had asked his friend as he was met with a happy reaction from his friend.

"Russell?! It's very nice to see you on this fine day! How has summer been going for you?" Carrie had asked her friend as Russell sat right next to her which made her blush.

"Same here, my good friend and my summer has been going quite good thus far but I'm hoping that your day and summer are treating you well" Russell had answered back as he let out a smile which made Carrie smile as well.

"I'm glad to hear! My summer has been going quite good as well and going back to your original question, This is my summer job but it's only for an hour or so." Carrie had answered back to her friend while Russell nodded his head in understandment.

"That's nice! I might have to pick up a job as well If I wanna make some money during summer break but have you been talking to Charlotte and the others recently?" Russell had asked his friend as he was met with Carrie shaking her head in denial.

"Not recently since everyone has been quite busy recently but I was actually thinking that we should all hang out once Anya and Nancy get back from their respective vacations to make up for the summer but I know Nancy won't be back until August however Anya has told me that she might come back next month or when summer ends" Carrie had answered back while Russell nodded his head in understandment.

"I see, I'm hoping that we can hang out together once more but I don't wanna keep you holding for too long since you're on the clock so I'll catch you later, okay?" Russell had spoken back to his friend as he got up from the stoop to prepare himself for his departure.

"It's all good and It was a pleasure in talking to you my good friend but also, If you ever wanna hang out with me and just me alone than don't be afraid to let me know, okay?" Carrie had advised her friend as she let out a smile while giving him a wink in the process as this made Russell smile.

"Of course! I see nothing wrong with just me and you hanging out so I'll definitely keep that in mind" Russell had spoken back to Carrie for the final time as he smiled back before turning the other direction to head back home.

"I guess I should head back to work before Mr George gets all mad at me" Carrie had spoken to herself as she let out a small chuckle while she picked up the milk carton and continued on with her shift with Russell in her thoughts more then ever.
