It was a warm yet windy day as Anya and Linda were having lunch on the grassfields while they were chatting away.

"So, how's New York? I know that things can be pretty robust over there since everyone is always on the go and what not" Linda had asked her cousin as she waited for an answer while also taking a sip of water from her bottle.

"New York is honestly pretty crazy, however it's still a good place in my opinion so I can't complain too much but how has summer been going for you? I'm hoping you're having a good time…" Anya had asked her cousin as her question was met with a smug smile from Linda as she began to speak.

"There you go again with asking me about how I feel but since I'm in a good mood today, I'm honestly having a decent time with you guys so I hope that answers your question" Linda had answered back as this made Anya smile at her cousin.

"I'm glad to hear that. All that matters is that you're having a good time and that's what makes me happy but to change the subject, Is there anything you wanna talk about?" Anya had asked her cousin as she waited for a response as she ate some of her lunch in the process as Linda began to speak once more.

"Thanks and I honestly don't have much to talk about since I'm a boring person but we could talk about our goals and futures, I guess?" Linda had answered back as she was met with her cousin smiling back at her.

"That's a good topic and you're not a boring person at all. You are a rather intelligent, sarcastic, and a very outspoken person." Anya had spoken back to her cousin as her compliments made Linda smile back.

"T-Thanks, I guess but my goal in life is becoming a veterinarian and my reason is that I wanna help every animal that I could since they deserve as much rights as we humans do. I know you might make fun of me for that but I just wanna shelter and give love to every animal that comes my way…" Linda had spoken back as she looked over to see her cousin smiling warmly at her as she began to speak.

"That's a wonderful career choice. I can truly see you doing what you love best so don't allow anyone to tell you otherwise, okay? People might make fun of you but always know that these people hold zero power over you so chase that dream and once you do, You better telephone or send me a letter that you've become a veterinarian, okay?" Anya had spoken to her cousin in a motivating tone of voice as this made Linda more confident in her dreams as she let out a smile.

"Thanks, You might annoy me at times but you honestly are making this trip bearable for me so that's something good I can say about this but how about you? Do you wish to pursue acting like your mother?" Linda had spoken back as she waited for her answer as she heard Anya beginning to speak.

"I'm honestly still deciding on my future but one of the choices I'm considering is becoming a nurse like I can see myself helping those in need just like you helping animals in need but it's not my final choice but it's one of the things I've been brainstorming about honestly" Anya had answered back while Linda nodded her head in a understanding manner as she began to speak once more.

"That's honestly wonderful. I know our aunties and my mother were nurses during the great war when they were around my age so I had a feeling that at least one of my cousins was gonna get inspired but that's truly a nice dream to have" Linda had spoken back to her cousin as both girls shared a smile together.

"You should really meet my friends back in New York cause they're some of the kindest people that you'll ever come across and I feel like you'll feel welcome" Anya had spoken to her cousin once more as this made Linda curious as she began to speak.

"Oh yeah, I believe you told me about them but what are your friends' names again? I know you have plenty of friends" Linda had asked her cousin as Anya began to name each of her friends.

"My friends' names are Charlotte, Nancy, Mai, Russell, Calvin, Emma, Carrie, Claudia, and Mary. I know! I know! I have a lot of friends but these people besides my family are what keeps me going everyday so I'll always be grateful to God for allowing me to have such wonderful friends" Anya had answered back as she had a smile on her face which caused Linda to respond to what she just heard.

"That's really nice to hear but I'm sure they'll get tired of me like the people from my school. I wish I had friends like you…" Linda had complained to her cousin as she was quickly met with Anya's warm hand touching her shoulder.

"That's not true at all. My friends are very accepting and I'm sure they won't get tired of you in my honest opinion. I also believe that you'll get your own group of friends once you start the new school year and that's something that I believe in" Anya had reassured her as she continued to eat her lunch while waiting for Linda's response.

"Thanks but I just don't see that honestly but I'm willing to at least see your point of view in things but let's not worry too much about my feelings, okay? Let's just continue having a fun summer together…" Linda had finally spoken back as she let out a smile before being hugged by Anya which caught her off guard.

"Sure thing but just know that I love you so much and that spending half of my summer with you and the others will always be something that I'll cherish so please don't forget that, okay?" Anya had advised her cousin as Linda felt tears welling up as she hugged her cousin back.

"S-Same for you, Thank you for always being there for me, Even when it seems like you're being annoying about it. It actually makes me happy to see that someone cares about my dumb rants and everything else…" Linda had spoken back as she returned the hug as both girls continued to embrace in a warm hug until they released each other from the hug.

"Say, do you wanna ask our family to take us to the Cliff Beach or maybe somewhere different tomorrow? I think we need another day at the beach but at a more beautiful place this time around" Anya had asked her cousin as she was met with a nod of excitement from Linda.

"Sounds good to me, I just want a good time honestly so I'm down for whatever!" Linda had spoken out in a much more excited tone of voice as unknowns to them Maria was watching everything alongside Bartok.

"It seems like our daughter is slowly enjoying herself. It makes me happy…" Maria had thought to herself as she let out a smile knowing that things were slowly getting better for her daughter.
