(Charlotte's Dilemma)
*October 13th, 1941*
*12:20 pm*
Charlotte was eating lunch with Anya and Emma as she was discussing the events from two days ago to them as the pair was surprised by what they've just heard.
"That's terrible of him to do that. I just hope that he leaves you and your mother alone and it sucks as well since I've assumed he was a good person from Anya.." Emma had spoken out in a tone of disappointment while Anya nodded her head in agreement.
"Yeah, I understand that he was trying to support you guys but it seemed like he left and never even considered sending money for support" Anya had chimed in support as Charlotte immediately spoke out.
"Thanks for understanding my situation. I might sound grouchy these days but it's just Patrick or otherwise my father being here is just making my mood more down than usual but I think we should also change topics, okay?" Charlotte had spoken out to her friend and girlfriend as Anya and Emma nodded their heads in agreement.
"That's honestly the best choice and we don't want to drag this topic any longer as well" Emma had spoken back in support as this made Charlotte smile.
"Thanks once again and to change topics, did everyone enjoy homecoming? I had plenty of fun a few days ago" Charlotte had asked her friends as her deamour slowly reverted back to her usual self while Anya began to speak out.
"It honestly went well. It was quite swell seeing Allison, Carrie, and Russell dance together. It was rather beautiful to see" Anya had answered back while this made Charlotte smile while nodding her head in agreement.
"I agree, It makes me happy seeing my friends having fun without any worries and I'm surprised that Judith, Neville or any of her friends didn't show their faces as well" Charlotte had spoken back with a hint of curiosity while Emma began to chime in.
"My guess is that Judith probably wanted to sit this one out but let's just be glad that she didn't ruin or even attempt to ruin that special night" Emma had chimed in while Anya and Charlotte nodded their heads in agreement.
"You're right and that's what matters as well if I'm being honest" Anya had spoken out to her friend as the three girls continued to chat amongst themselves for the reminder of the lunch period.
*8:23pm*
A few hours had passed as Charlotte was laying on her bed while thinking about the discussion with her friend and girlfriend.
"I'm truly glad I have my friends and pumpkin to talk to regarding this situation cause I would have gone insane by bottling it all up with nobody to talk to" Charlotte had thought to herself as she turned around to face the ceiling while still drowning in her thoughts as she suddenly heard her mother's voice calling her.
"Charlotte, dear. Time for dinner" Mrs Smith had called out from the kitchen area as this prompted Charlotte to quickly head downstairs to the kitchen.
"Good Evening, mother, How was work today? I hope it went well for you" Charlotte had asked her mother as she had taken a seat in front of the table while waiting for an answer.
"Work was okay but nonetheless, It was fairly good so I can't complain too much about it but did school go well for you? You seem quite down.." Mrs Smith had answered back as she walked over to give her daughter a plate of food while waiting for an answer as Charlotte began to speak up.
"It's honestly about two nights ago. Just thinking about my dad and all has just been tough like I can't fully explain it to where it makes sense but I'm obviously feeling some resentment towards him and I honestly don't want to feel that way. I don't even feel that way towards Judith.." Charlotte had vented to her mother as she took a sip of water from her cup to cool herself down as she saw her mother sitting across from her as she began to speak.
"Honey, your feelings are valid and acceptable. Patrick leaving us to pursue his art career in hopes of supporting us wasn't a wise choice since things are obviously the same for us and he never bothered to help us but I think this could be resolved if you talk to him, one to one..". Mrs Smith had advised while Charlotte nodded her head in understandment.
"Thank you for understanding and I don't know if I can talk to him since I still dislike him but maybe if I can at least close this chapter on him then maybe things could be fine, I hope…" Charlotte had spoken back to her mother as she let out a smile while proceeding to eat her dinner which made Mrs Smith smile.
"Of course, whatever direction you wanna take this ordeal is totally up to you and I won't hold it against you, okay? But, I also wanna say that I love you, my sweet daughter" Mrs Smith has spoken back to her daughter as she began to eat her dinner as well as this made Charlotte smile once more.
"I love you too" Charlotte simply responded back as both of them continued to eat and talk amongst themselves for the remainder of the dinner period.
*10:29pm*
Two hours had passed since dinner as Charlotte was writing in her diary regarding the events of today as she closed her diary to look out of the window.
"Maybe I should get some closure with my father since he is leaving in a few days but It's gonna be peculiar since I rarely don't know him but I feel like I need to do what's right for myself and try to seek closure and not allow this to go on any further.." Charlotte had spoken quietly to herself as she yawned in tiredness while putting her diary away as she eventually laid down in her bed while looking forward to seeing a photo of herself from when she was ten years old with her mother.
"I was always such a loner all of these years ago. I was still discovering who I was and I always had trouble fitting in but six years later and I can happily say that I have such wonderful friends, a loving girlfriend, and a caring mother and I'll never trade these people for anyone nor anything so I feel like I must seek closure with my father before it's too late…" Charlotte had spoken once more to herself as she tucked herself in with her covers while drifting off to sleep with a clear goal in mind.
