Notes: Sorry I was an idiot.

Harriette tried on her newly embroidered clothes and bounced with excitement, spinning to look at them from every angle,

"They're so cool!" Harriette enthused. Moon felt a lot of pride. He'd worked hard to make those designs. While he was supposed to be running the pizzaplex for a company that didn't give him and his partner even the barest respects he might add.

"I'm glad you like them, Pumpkin," Sun said. "Moon is too. He worked really hard on them."

"Mr. Moon made all these pretty sitches?" Harriette asked, voice dropping in awe as she ran her fingers carefully over some of Moon's handy-work.

"Yup!" Sun said.

"That's so amazing," Then she was crying.

"Oh, oh, Sweetie what's the matter?"

"I-i-i-i-i do-do-dun-n-no," Harriette said, her voice was tight and squished.

"Oh, sweetie, I- do you not like the design-" Harriette shook her head violently, tears were still streaming down her face.

"I-i lu-luv d-dem sho mu-uh-ush," Harriette said. She was crying even harder. Sun scooped her up and hugged her tightly, not tight enough to hurt but just enough to make sure she knew she was being held. Loved. She was safe and cared for. He started rocking her the way he'd do with the babies. She gripped their ruffles and just sobbed until she couldn't anymore. Sun was worried that they were going to have unwanted visitors before he could console her. "Aunt-." she shook her head. "Petunia, she made clothes for Dudley sometimes." She said. Ah! Sun rocked her, running a hand down her back to sooth her. "I don't know what I did to make her not care about me? I didn't do a lot back them, but I was good. I did what I was told, or I tried to. I was-I didn't want much. She always patted him while doing it, 'cause he had to sit still for her to get the fit right. He never even wore them outside the house!" Harriette sobbed, a fresh new wave of pain. "It's not fa- I di- I jus- I don-"

"Ssh," Sun said, voice low and as soothing as he could make it. "I know. I know. I understand. You don't have to force it out all at once. Just breathe. Can you do that for me, Pumpkin." Harriette focused on breathing for a bit longer.

"I'm not sure why that just-" Harriette sounded embarrassed when she spoke. Sun Soothing his hand down her back and then up again.

"You have every right to be angry, or sad, or frustrated, or whatever emotion you feel," Sun said. "You are allowed to have feelings." He pulled away enough to look her in the face, gently pressing his forehead to hers. "You are allowed to feel whatever feelings those are. Okay. Just remember to breath, okay." Sun said. Harriette nodded. She looked worn out. "How about you take an early nap before doing anything else."

"You have to go soon," Harriette said laying her head on his chest. "I want to stay with you for- until you gotta go. Is- is that okay?" She asked so hesitantly.

"Of course," Sun said. "I don't have long, but we can stay together till the daycare is open." Harriette sighed.

"Thank you," she gave the weakest little tilt to the corner of her mouth, like she was trying to smile.

"You don't have to smile," Sun said. "Yours isn't painted on." He joked. "You are allowed to show that you were hurt. Even if the thing that hurt you is long past." Harriette nodded, tears coming to her eyes. She snuggled into her shoulder for a moment longer. Then the beeping of her watch and Sun's hud let them know that the first guest of the day was signed in. "Are you gonna be okay?" Harriette nodded.

"Think I'm going to take you up on that nap offer," Harriette said, yawning. "Crying really takes it out of ya." She joked. Sun booped her nose, and she looked at him with her eyes all wide. Then she smiled nodded. "See ya."

"Let me know if you need anything okay, Pumpkin," Harriette's smile was small but genuine.

'Kay,' she signed. Sun set her down in bed.

(Future Daycare Scene)

Sun returned to their room and found a different sort of mess then he'd ever experienced. Though he should have expected it. Harriette was in the middle of the floor, several boxes had been moved from their original spot, the contents of one laid out in front of Harriette as she wrote down what she'd found. Looking more carefully Sun noticed that all the moved boxes had pages on them too.

"Harriette," Sun said cautiously. The girl, so focused on her task hadn't realized Sun came in. she jumped so hard she almost ended up standing. She looked at Sun like she'd been caught in the act of some horrible crime. "Whatchya doing?" Sun was trying for curious, but the concern leaked through. Harriette misread it as something else.

"I didn't mean to be bad! I'm sorry! I-I-" Harriette's panic was obvious.

"Hey, no, not in trouble, not in trouble," Sun panicked too. "Your fine. I'm not made. Just concerned, curious, confused. Not mad, no, no, no!" Harriette slowly relaxed. Sun slowly relaxed.

"I-I-I…" Harriette paused. "I wanted to help." she sounded on the verge of tears.

"Oh, well, that's very, very kind of you, but you really…" Sun paused searching his memory banks and permitted sites for the right responses to this particular psychological issue. "You really shouldn't lift such heavy things on your own like that." Sun found the page it should have been. Harriette pouted.

Fuckers deleted something actually useful for our job! Sun griped. Taking Harriette up in his arms.

I noticed, Moon grumbled back. But we have to know what fucking plate setting to use for what was it again-?

The point is it doesn't fucking matter! Sun griped.

Right, let me see if I can find it, Moon didn't have much hope. The information they wanted was probably gone for good. Unless they got it from a book. Maybe the Raywoods would pick him up a copy of some kids psychology books.

"You are very sweet for wanting to help but this isn't your job," Sun said.

"Yes it is!" Harriette said, petulant.

"How do you figure?" Sun said, affection warming the edges of concern out of his voice. She was far too cute.

"I live here!" Harriette explained. "This is my home too! Isn't it?" The question washed away all her petulance, now she was just scared.

"Oh, well, of course it is," Sun said.

"Then making it livable in my job too!" All petulance again. Gods and stars did Sun love this little girl.

"Oh, alright, I suppose that's true," Sun said, he couldn't help but give the girl an affectionate nuzzle she seemed to melt into the touch. Then they were just hugging again. Sun really loved hugging Harriette. "Still, you should let us do all the heavy lifting." Sun said. "Deal?"

"Deal," Harriette said, smile growing on her face.

"Good, now let's feed our hungry little pumpkin before she waste away," Sun tickled her a little and she giggled, hugging him tighter.

(Werewolf pack stuff)

Moon added a few bits of embroidery to Hairrette's other clothing articles. He wanted to embroider every article that the Raywoods hadn't given her. They were so old, and stained and one of the pairs of jeans had the knees worn completely through. Moon had decided to patch that up with a bit of fabric from some other things. He didn't have patches that could match, but he didn't think that Harriette would mind even if he wasn't putting so much effort into turning it into it's own work of art. Moon was satisfied with his work. He was going to have to get rid of Mike. He was not only a jerk but he'd seen Harriette. Letting him stay on was unacceptable. Sun and Moon had started looking through the camera files for whatever they could find to get rid of him. It seemed that Mike for the most part kept his nose clean though. Sun grumbled in frustration as Moon hung up the jeans and admired his work. Not all the articles had needed as much sprucing up, and Harriette had collected several articles of clothing around the plex too. Moon was happy that she had two pairs of shoes. Even if it was clear that one was literally about to fall apart and the other was clearly something she got from the plex. Still maybe the Raywoods would be able to loan/gift her some shoes.

I'll add it to the list, Sun said. She'll need winter boots, sandals, maybe some water shoes.

Why would she need water shoes?

Dunno I just feel like she will need water shoes. Sun said, very seriously. OH! Sun's mental shriek almost made Moon drop the shirt he'd been looking at for tears.

What?!

Rain Boots! Sun said, like he thought it was the most precious word in the world. Moon pictured Harriette in rain boots, and a rain coat to match. Her green eyes bright, as she splashed about.

Oh my gods and stars! Moon said.

I know!

We'll ask, Moon said, but he doubted that Harriette would ever have reason to wear them less much the two of them having the chance to see her in them. I'm going to need yarn too.

Why? Sun asked.

I need to make Harriette some knit wear, maybe ask if they have left over fabric, Moon knew he was being emotional, and silly. But fact was that Harriette really seemed to want, even if she didn't know she wanted it, to have her parent figure make her something. Okay so it wasn't the article of clothing in and of itself she wanted, it was the symbol. Truth be told Moon wanted to give her that symbol. Even if in a small way.
