Harriette woke up in the morning to the excitement of her very first birthday party. She was going to have friends at her very first birthday party. She had daddies, she had a real uncle, she had grandparents and her friends and she was going to have a birthday party. She didn't need much, not even a cake, just her loved ones together with her on a day that was supposed to celebrate her birth would be enough. She wasn't even sure what her Daddies and the Raywoods had planned but she was still excited by the idea. She brushed her teeth and her daddies did her hair and then she and her Uncle and Daddies were going down to greet Harriette's friends and Granny and Gran-paw Raywood. Mayla and Ginny were also there and so was Emelia; her parents had left her with Andria to be brought over. Her Daddies had told her that they sometimes did that, especially on days like this. When Harriette had asked he'd said it was boring grown up stuff.
That didn't matter though cause she had stuff to do today anyways. She was going to make her guests party favors. Her daddies weren't home so she could make them some too. Kreacher was still sound asleep even. So she'd be able to make everyone something. She'd seen people given them out as thank yous for coming at other peoples birthdays all over the pizzaplex.
***Little skippy***
Harriette wrapped up her Daddies first and then worked on everyone elses that way she'd be sure her Daddies wouldn't see theirs. But she'd still managed to complete most of them before her Daddies came back from their last patrol of the pizzaplex. She done a few last night too so it wasn't hard.
"Your up really early?" Moon commented.
"I was too excited to sleep anymore and I wanted to make party favors for everyone.
"Oh, that's sweet," Moon said. "Where'd you learn that? Your aunt and uncle don't seem the type."
"I saw people giving them out in the plex all the time," Harriette said. "Finished!" Harriette said. "It's not much but I wanted everyone to know that I was really grateful for them coming to celebrate with us." Harriette said.
"I'm grateful too. "I'll have to add something to the mix. Oh! That's an idea at least." Harriette bounced.
"What are you going to add?"
"We don't have much, and it was such short notice, but we always have sundrops and moondrops."
"Oh!" Harriette said nodding. "That's a good idea!"
"We can also add some of the little bags that we're allowed to pass out to kids so that they stay together and look nice." Harriette nodded excited. Moon handed her the bags after adding a few things of candy, not just the sun & moon drops, and Harriette added her little drawn cards to each. She was a little sad that she couldn't add anything more to her daddies since they couldn't eat candy, they couldn't even open their mouth.
"What's the matter, little pumpkin?"
"I made you both one too, but you can't have candy," She pouted.
"Oh, you didn't have to make me one," Moon said. "I'm the one host-"
"No!" Harriette said. Kreacher sat up sleepily before flopping back down into his bedding.
"No?" Moon asked after Kreacher was done shuffling.
"No." Harriette said quieter but more firmly. She didn't want to wake Kreacher up, again.
"Why not?" Sun asked.
"I'm a big girl, and I want to thank everyone for coming to my birthday party," Harriette pouted. Moon tilted his face.
"Okay," he said in a voice that was a little higher than his usual voice. "I'll give you another bag for our pictures."
"Two?" Harriette said. "I made both of you one."
"Wha-why?"
"Because I made Fred and George their own, and Granny and Gram-paw their own." Harriette said, trying to make it clear how obvious it was. Moon didn't seem to get it though tilting his head the way he did when he was trying to puzzle something out. "Just because they're always together doesn't mean they don't deserve their own. Both. of you. Need. your own." Harriette said very slowly. Moon covered his face and made a bunch of weird noises. "Daddies are you okay? Did I make you made."
"No, no, pumpkin," Moon said. "You're just being precious, that's all." Moon booped her nose then and Harriette smiled after a second of surprise.
"Love you, Daddies," Harriette said.
"Alright," Moon said. "I'll take those now." He tried to reach for the pictures Harriette made for him and Sun.
"No!" Harriette said. "You have to wait for the party! That's the rules!" Harriette said.
"Oh, okay," Moon said. Fully chastised. "I'm sorry."
Moon was not in fact fully chastised. He thought his daughter was being far too cute.
Sun was equally adoring.
Moon, Harriette, and Kreacher settled three of the tables together to seat their guests. Sun was editing the camera photoage in real time to make sure it wouldn't give them away. Mike and the other guy, neither of them had bothered learning his name since he wasn't going to be around for too long, were no longer in. If Sun and Moon had anything to say about it Mike would soon be off of FazBear Entertainment employment soon enough too.
Harriette bounced once she was done setting the tables into place. She was clearly excited about her first birthday party.
"When do you think they'll be here?" Harriette asked, nervousness coloring her excitement. Moon felt warm affection fill up his, metaphorical, heart as he crouched down to scoop her up.
"Soon," Moon said. "Soon." Harriette nodded, still excited. Kreacher watched with some affection as they started talking. Not about anything important, something about the party, what types of activities they planned to do, what Kreacher was writing. They flitted from topic to topic till their guest arrived outside the plex. Sun and Moon could only see the outside world through two cameras both of which were connected to doors and weren't even always on. Sun would have complained about it more, but it had been proving a long time ago that their concerns would be ignored. Still, Sun was able to see their guests arrive. Then the whole pizza plex lit up. Pushing Sun to the front and Moon to the back.
"Alright, they just arrived, they're in," Sun said. "Some others are coming too and it looks like they're talking about something so can you hide until they leave."
"Right away," Kreacher said, nodding. He disappeared. Sun set Harriette down and let her bounce next to him. The people in question split off which relieved Sun.
"It's safe," Sun called. "Sorry."
"No better safe than sorry," Kreacher said, settled next to him. Mayla rushed around the corner and landed against the railing and waved.
"Harriette!" Mayla called.
"Mayla!" Harriette called back.
"We have new neighbors. They buyed like the land all around the pack. Dad was helping this tall man with blond hair and a lot of muscles. And there was another man but he was small and thin and a pretty woman with red brown hair. Dad said something about them as guards but i can't remember what." Mayla said, giving Harriette a big wrapped box.
"Oh?" Harriette said, setting the box down and standing against the gate so the two can talk over it while they waited, for Mayla's grandparents. "Your Daddy visited?" Mayla nodded.
"Yeah, yeah," Mayla said. "Daddy was talking about them being parts of the group company my daddy is in. Oh! Oh! The Avengers! That's what my daddy's job is." Mayla said. Nova and Bramble came around the corner much slower. Emelia was with them, Emelia's parents had split off from the group and headed toward the meeting room where most of the human staff was going."
"Emelia, Granny, Gram-paw!" Harriette said. "How are you?! Oh! Oh! I forgot! I made party favors." Harriette said, summoning her party favor bags. "Daddies grabbed the bag and candy, but I made a card for everyone." she said, handing out the favors. "Okay, Daddies you can have yours now too!" She said, appearing next to Sun, no second thoughts.
"You can teleport!" Emelia asked.
"Yeah, yeah, but it's not important, it's Harriette's birthday!" Mayla said. Emelia shrugged, Letting Mayla pull her down the slide.
"Sun, just so you know Tony has paid for three-four overnight passes, that are not Harriettes. Mayla and two or three of her old friends, are going to be stopping by. We wanted to let you know before hand. It's a surprise for Mayla, also we are glad today can have happy memories to it again." Nova said, looking over the kids.
"Oh," Sun said. "Is it that day?" Sun tried to hint at what he thought she meant without saying it out loud. Nova nodded. Bramble, had picked up the box Harriette had left on the stairs. "I'm sorry, are you two…?"
"Oh, we're fine, it's good for us too, to see Mayla happy, and we'll see her again when that time comes for us, it's just… Mayla should be…" Sun nodded, putting her hand on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry you've been separated for the long haul," Sun said. Nova put her much smaller hand on his and smiled at him.
"It's good to have others around," Nova said. "I'm we're doing this today."
"Me too," Sun said. "And I'll be happy to have more guests. I'll let Harriette and Kreacher know." Kreacher and Bram were talking as they carried the three presents each had brought for Harriette.
"Well, lets set those here," Sun said, setting up a fourth table for the presents. He hadn't really thought about that part of birthdays. Neither he or Moon had participated in a birthday party at this stage. Logically he'd known that presents would be required. He and Moon had figured out their own gift for their little girl.
Still he hadn't thought of presents being this big. The box Mayla had brought was practically as big as she was, and if she hadn't been using one of those weird magic bags she probably would have had a hard time with it.
"Oh! I wonder when Ginny and Fred and George and their siblings will come?" Harriette said, thoughtfully. Mayla nodded.
"They should be here soon, probably," Mayla said. "Right?"
"I'm sure," Nova answered.
"Ah-hah, they just arrived at the pizzaplex," Sun said. "They'll be here soon."
"Great, then I can give them their party favors and thank them for coming!" Harriette said, already running up the stairs.
"Watch your step, Pumpkin!" Sun called after here.
"I'm watching!" Harriette said, almost tripping
"Sun, do you know why my daddy, don't like Freddy's? I told him all about it and he got like white," Mayla asked Sun, as the other guests for Harriette's birthday were slowly coming in.
"Well, you mentioned your father lives in New York, correct?" Sun asked. He knew the answer to this, but he figured it'd be polite to ask.
"Yeah?" Mayla nodded.
"And that's in the United States of America, right?" Sun asked.
"Yeppers"
"So, then he's probably heard about some of the American branches of the company," Sun said. "Which have some nasty history behind them."
"Oh? What kind?" Mayla asked. Sun could hear his own speaker crackle at that.
"That isn't something that your old enough to hear about," Sun said. "But Suffice to say that this branch and that don't have any connections. Not a one."
"Oh." Mayla said. "Okay! I'm gonna go say hi to Ginny now!"
"Okay," Sun was relieved the girl wasn't going to keep asking about it.
"Ginny!" Harriette, Mayla and Emelia called, meeting Ginny at the bottom of the slide. Fred and George followed their sister down the slide just after she'd climbed out, Ron almost a little too closely after them. Meanwhile their parents and older three brothers walked down the stairs.
"Hi, I'm Harriette! Thank you for coming to my birthday party. I made party favors. Well, my dad had the bags and candy, but I made the cards all by myself!" She said as she passed each of the favors out. "It's nice to meet you!" Harriette said to the parents. "Thanks for coming." she said turning to the older two. "OH! Your the guy who sold Moondrop!"
"I don't think I actually have moondrops as-"
"No! That's what I named my doll, the one that got torn, and my cousin was told to throw away. He gave it to me instead cause he's been nicer to me recently. But I don't live with them anymore. Oh! Here! Thanks for coming." Harriette said talkatively.
"And thank you for having us," Charlie said.
"OH! Right! It's fine if you don't remember me!" Harriette said. "I'm still glad to see you again!" Harriette ran to grab Kreacher. "This is my uncle Kreacher. He's family so you have to treat him nicely!" She said very firmly.
"Oh, I- we'll be sure to do that." Molly Weasley said, with a smile.
"Thank you!" Harriette said, giving a little bow. Before pulling Kreacher off so that he could return to his conversation with Bram. Then Harriette stood on one of the chairs.
"Harriette, that's not really meant to be stood on,"
"It's okay, I'll catch myself if I fall," Harriette said, finishing her positioning and climb. "Hey!" She waved. "Thank you all for coming to by birthday party! I-" Harriette reached into her bag. "Made this!" It looked like it was supposed to be a donkey but it didnt' have a tail. Sun remembered her making it before, but he'd been a bit busy to ask. "It's a party game that I saw at one of my cousin's birthdays. Since I wasn't allowed to play I only ever got to watch so I've always wanted to play! Pin the tail on the donkey." She dropped on end to reach into her bag for something else. "I made tails too." She said holding up her tiny first full of little braided strings. "I didn't think I'd get to play it at my very own birthday party, but I wanted to play since for so long!" She said. "Is that okay."
"It's a great idea." Molly said putting a few packages on the table. "I've never played before do you know the rules?" She asked.
"Uh-huh. It's real easy, you take the tail by the pin, I have to add those now, then you take a blindfold. She dropped the tails she was holding to grab said blindfold. She put the paper donkey down on the table so she could hold the blindfold on to demonstrate. "Then you put it on like this! And then you get spun around." She almost fell down demonstrating this part! Several adults, and Percy reached out to make sure she didn't get hurt. "Then you put the pin in the picture. The closest to the tail place wins."
"Normally these kinds of games have prizes," Mayla pointed out.
"Oh~!" Harriette said thoughtfully.
"We don't need prizes!" Emelia said. "It's fun just to play together." Harriette still looked despondent.
"Don't worry," Sun said. "I'll make sure to grab some prizes." Harriette beamed at him.
"Thank you," Harriette said smiling. She was too cute. Sun abstained from the game since he said it'd be cheating since it was impossible to blind fold him. The rest of the guest took turns pinning the tails, Harriette handing each to them as she put a pin in the tails she'd made. She'd insisted she do it herself because she's a big girl and it was her party. Sun still kept a close eye to make sure she didn't get hurt. When it was her turn she spun herself so much that she ended up falling over and needing help to stand back up.
"That was so fun, you did a good job! How come you didn't get all dizzy? That's really cool!" Ron chuckled, at Harriette's excitable exclamations.
"Alright, what should we do next?"
"Unfortunately we don't have the most amont of time so, we should have cake, if that's alright?" Nova said.
"Cake? You really brought cake?!" Harriette asked excited, and genuinely surprised.
"Of course, silly goose," Nova chuckled. "Why wouldn't we? Your part of the family. And you can't have a proper birthday without cake." Nova said, giving the girl a head pat, and a little hair ruffling. Hairriette grinned, squinting her eyes and giggled. Sun couldn't help but think it was adorable.
Take a picture! Moon said.
"Ah! Right, pictures!" Sun said, opening his chest cubby to pull out the camera. Unfortunately that particular cute scene was done, but Sun would get the next one for sure.
"Cake! Cake and food!" The twins started chanting.
"Oh, you two," Molly said, equal parts affection and exasperation.
"What?"
"We should do cake and food," Harriette said. "It is close to breakfast time. We should have done that first actually." She sounded worried.
"We all still had fun playing you silly little donkey game," Arthur assured. "It was quite cute." Nova had opened the cake she'd brought and added the candles and a few other little decorations, including a dancing cake topper.
"Should we really be doing magic in front of him?" Molly asked, Nova in a quiet whisper while the rest were getting settled.
"Why, he's not going to tell anyone," Nova said.
"My metaphorical lips are sealed," Sun added. "We don't have all the time in the world you know. Hurry, hurry. Otherwise we won't be able to do presents with everyone here."
"Presents?" Harriette asked, surprised. Nova apparently couldn't help but laugh.
"Yes," she said, still trying to contain her chuckles.
"You guys didn't have to get me anything," Harriette said.
"We wanted to!" Ginny said.
"Yeah," Emelia said. "It wasn't much, but I wanted you to have something."
"Now we must sing!" Mayla shouted, putting her arm around Harriette. Ginny and Emelia followed suit as Harriette teared up. Even Ron and Percy gave a quick pat. They sang Happy birthday.
"Make a wish," Bramble said.
"I don't really have anything to wish for," Harriette said. "I already have so much." Harriette said tearily.
"Than wish that things stay like this for a long time!" Mayla encouraged.
"Yeah!" Harriette brightened, still new tears came as she beamed, blowing out the candles. Sun still took a picture. Someday it would surely be a sweet memory to look back on.
***Little skippy***
After they'd eaten, everyone was even more excited to see Harriette open her presents then before. Given that it was Harriette's first birthday party. Mayla took her turn first.
"Me first! Me first!" Mayla said. "My Daddy bought these for you!"
"Okay," Harriette said. "Thank you." Harriette was careful with her unwrapping, pealing away the tape that held the paper on. When it was freed of the tape she set it aside carefully, underneath there was a box of legos. Harriette clearly didn't understand the item in question at first, examining it curiously before lighting up, with excitement.
"Mayla! Mayla! Mayla!" Harriette said holding the box up like a prize.
"I know!" the girl squealed. Sun took a picture of Harriette and her jumping up and down together. She even hugged her new item. Another picture for Sun and Moon's growing collection of photos of their precious little girl. Next Emelia held out her gift.
"Mine's not as cool, but I still managed to convince my parents that you needed it!" Emelia said. The package was just wrapped in a drawing so Harriette's careful work freeing it was even more appreciated. She kept the drawings, it turned out there were several doodled on plain printer paper, as part of the gift. Underneath was a box set of books.
"What's this?"
"I couldn't get the cartoon, which sucks, but it's a…" She turned to box set to show the girl what the collection one.
"Spider riders!" Harriette whispered excitedly. "Spider riders!" She held it up over head like she'd done with the legos, but she didn't do the same dance, it was more that she was trying to get it closer to the light.
"I didn't know that was a thing?" Sun commented taking a picture.
"It's like super old and stuff, but I remembered seeing it online with my mom," Emelia said. "I was hoping to find the cartoon but Mom said that we should get the book series to encourage you to read. Which is silly cause you already like reading, but still I figured you'd like it."
"I love it!" Harriette said hugging Emelia.
"I feel a little bad since we weren't able to get much," Molly said.
"I wasn't expecting presents at all, so anything you brought it a pleasant surprise," Harriette said.
"I'm not so sure," Molly said. Harriette opened Molly's gift next, it was wrapped in simple brown paper, the sweater was a dark blue, with yellow, green, and orange stars lined up and over-lapping in an argyle style with flowers and spiders mixed in. The yarn color was a little faded. But Harriette lit up at the sight. "Ginny said these were the colors you liked, and that you liked stars and spiders, I added the flowers for a bit of a girly touch but."
"You made me a sweater?" Harriette said amazed. Tearing up with joy. "Thank you! Ginny! Ginny we match!" She said holding the sweater up to her. Ginny and the other Weasleys were wearing their own matching homemade sweaters. It was chilly out this morning, and it was early. So they did kind of match.
"Yeah!" Ginny said grinning. "Now people will think your a Weasley!" the two giggled.
"Ooh, that's a nice sweater," Mayla said. "Can you teach me! Granny doesn't know how to knit!"
"Oh, you want to learn?" Molly said.
"Yeah! I've always wanted to!" Mayla said.
"O-okay!"
"I hope you don't mind me coming along," Nova said. "Her father would throw a fit if I didn't got for at least the first two."
"Oh, that's nice," Harriette said. "If I want to learn I'll learn from my daddies! Still, thank you for the sweater, I love it!" She pulled it on over her head, messing up her fair hair. Sun took yet another picture of her admiring it from on her body. It was a little too big.
"Sorry, I didn't know exactly how big you'd be," Molly said.
"It's okay," Harriette said. "I can wear it for longer this way!"
"Here's mine, funny enough Emelia and I could have collaborated on our gifts," Percy said.
"Percy," Molly said.
"Oh, right, surprise," Percy grumbled.
"It's okay," Harriette said opening the small envelope he'd handed to her. Inside was a set of bookmarks, matching in that they had dried flowers to them.
"Mom picked the flowers," Percy said. "I remembered that you liked gardening, but couldn't anymore so I thought you'd like this."
"There wonderful~!" Harriette said, holding them up.
"You can also stop using random scraps of paper or folding the page corners," Percy said.
"Oh, sorry, but yeah, I'll make sure to use these from now on!" Harriette said, smiling.
"We brought you these," Fred said. "We collaborated on ours a little."
"But we brought separate gifts," George said. "Since you put so much effort into making sure we were invited separately."
"And made sure we got our own party favors."
"Of course, but you could have given me a co-uh- co-gift."
"Nuh-uh!" The twins said together. "Anyways, we
"It's a prototype so be careful with it," George said. "Remember how you mentioned that your wished you could have different hair colors, that way you'd be harder to recognize."
"Yeah! And cause Mayla, Emelia and Ginny have such pretty hair colors," Harriette said.
"Your hair colors pretty," Sun reassured.
"I know, but it's still makes me look like… Well, I wanted to look different so my Aunt wouldn't recognize me again."
"And we made a solution for that," Fred said.
"Oh! You two made hair dye?"
"Magic hair dye!" George said.
"That's where George's part comes in," Fred winked. "It won't damage your hair the way regular hair dye does. And It doesn't have any of the risky chemicals that come with that stuff too. We had Mayla and Emelia help with learning that part."
"Oh, is that why you asked?" Emelia asked.
"Yeah, so anyways, it's actually some hair ties," George said. "And barrettes. We had to ask Emelia for help getting those, but I think we can recreate them if you want different color options later. I made the allastic, it was a total pain, but it was quite satisfying."
"You two are finally putting your brains to good use," Molly said.
"You made all these in one night!" Harriette asked.
"Yeah, well we had to borrow something for it," Fred said. "And we'd actually be working on it for a white. Since you brought it up, and we thought it'd be cool to trick people with something so fun."
"They were really fun to make, and use," George said.
"Anyway you put your hair up with one of these and your hair should change color based off the chart we made for it," Fred said.
"That's so cool!" Harriette said, pulling her hair into a messy side pony tail, that made her hair turn a darker shade of red.
"Wow!" Harriette said. "I won't be able to use these as much in the day care, but I can use them when going around the rest of the plex!" Harriette said. "These are so fun!"
"Your welcome," Fred said.
"Though the hairs a bit darker then we intended,"
"I still think it's great, I'm happy with it," Harriette said, smiling.
"Well, as long as your happy with it," Fred said.
"Yeah, that's the important part," George said.
"You two are super smart to make these," Harriette said.
"Nah,"
"No, she's right, this is a really brilliant invention." Sun said. "I can't believe the two of you made these."
"It wasn't anything to special," Fred said.
"You two need to tell them this is brilliant," Sun said to Molly and Arthur.
"We do," Molly said. "Though I guess it is always in a way that says how can you be this stupid when you are so brilliant."
"That's fine," Sun said.
"It's not though," Fred said. "It was really simple actually."
"Ah," Sun said. "Normal people wouldn't know how to do these kinds of things."
"What? It's so easy?" George said back.
"Well, moving on," Molly said. "Charlie and Bill brought their own."
"I ugh, just brought another bookmark. I just used some more plain paper, but I heard you liked to draw so maybe you'll add you own designs."
"Oh, well, I didn't know what you'd like so I also-"
"You both brought bookmarks?" Molly said.
"We didn't know what she'd like!" Molly and the two older boys argued a little bit.
"Copy cats," Percy complained.
"It's fine," Harriette said. "Now I can read multiple books at once!" Harriette said. "That's good for if I'm studying right?"
"Yeah!" Sun said.
"I'm really grateful," Harriette said.
"That's nice of you, dear, your so sweet," Molly said.
"It's true," Harriette said. "These are super useful, and super thoughtful." Charlie chuckled.
"Percy complained about the way you treat you books enough times," he said.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know that it was that bad, 'specially since most of what I've been reading was home made for a while."
"That's not reason not to use a book mark," Percy said. "It's important."
"That's what we always make him too," Bill joked. Harriette giggled.
"Here!" Ron said, pushing his box to Harriette.
"S'not much, but I thought you might like them," Ron said. "They look better when wet, I found them in a creek so that's how- I didn't know what else to grab and mom insisted we all bring somethin'."
"Ron!"
"What? Anyway you mentioned you didn't have a lot of shiny girly things and I thought those were the shiniest rock, but they dried and they weren't shiny anymore."
"Thank you," Harriette said. "I appreciate it." Harriette looked at the rocks. "I'm sure I could figure out how to do something with them."
"Sure," Ron said.
"Ron," Molly moaned. "I'm sorry."
"No, It's fine." Harriette said. "Ron and I aren't that close and I do think rocks can be cool, and he was trying his best." She turned to Ron. "Thanks for trying so hard. It must of been really hard to find the best ones."
"Y-yeah," Ron said.
"So, I'm grateful that you put that much effort into it."
"Y'welcome," Ron said.
"I feel a little underwhelming now," Nova said. "I just brought another sketchbook."
"I love drawing, and you've already given me so much!" Harriette said. "I'll draw in it lots. Promise."
"Okay," Nova said. Bram's gift was a little jewelry box with a simple flowery design.
"Thank you!" Harriette said. Bram opened it to reveal that it had a few items in it."
"It's not much but we thought you'd like them."
"Yeah, they're great!" Harriette said. "Super pretty!" She grinned turning one of the sparkly beaded necklaces in the light."
"Now there's somewhere for you to put your hair ties!" Fred said.
"Except my favorites, those will go on my hooks for easier use," Harriette informed. "But yeah!" She did infact add the twins work into the little jewelry box. "Oh, I expected it not to fit it all."
"It's charmed, a friend and I worked on it," Bram said.
"Oh! Thank you!" Harriette said. "This is great."
"I made this!" Ginny held her hand out. "I couldn't find anything to wrap it in. Harriette held her hand out, and Ginny let the item drop in.
"Oh! It's a necklace," Harriette said. It was just a string tied to a little stone. It was shinier than the others. Sun looked closer and noticed it was actually a piece of glass, small and any sharpness worn off it.
"When Ron was out looking for his gift I found this," Ginny said. "It was too small to go in the box but I thought it was too pretty not to use.
"It is!" Harriette said, putting it on.
"Arthur what have you brought," Molly asked.
"Ah, right, and this is from me," Arthur said, putting a rubber duck on the table. It had a little sun hat and sun glasses on. The hat had a white flower. Kind of like a daisy.
"Is that something you picked up at the ministry."
"I made sure it wasn't dangerous," Arthur said. "It just glows. I thought it was cute."
"It is!" Harriette said. "How do you make it glow?!" Harriette asked. Arthur showed her, and she giggled. "Triple M Is gonna be so jealous!" Harriette said, admiring her glowing duck. She was laid partially across the table fiddling with her duck. "I love it."
"Congratulations on completing your first birthday party!" Emelia said, bumping Harriette's shoulder.
"Yeah," Harriette said.
"The Daycare is officially open, I'm surprised Adrianna hasn't shown up yet," Sun said.
"Sorry, my birthday party wasn't very cool, but I had fun so thank you for coming," Harriette said.
"Oh, thank you for having us," Molly said. A bit more of the same sentiments were passed around as they quickly hid the evidence.
"Fortunately the staff is still in the meeting otherwise we'd be in trouble," Sun said. "Are you guys going to get in trouble for missing it?"
"Nah, they only wanted 'important' staff," Charlie said.
"We're not considered important," Nova said. "And for once I don't mind since we got to spend this time together."
"I'm glad we did to," Harriette said. Mayla, Emelia and Ginny were helping her gather her belongings. "We'll be right back."
"Go on, I'll sign the kids in before heading out, my work doesn't require as much of a schedule," Molly said.
"It barely requires much on my part," Sun informed. "You two can head off to work too." Sun said to Charlie and Bill. "I don't want you two getting into trouble. I've got the kids signed in, it doesn't take that much for me to do that."
"Oh, thank you," Molly said.
"'M sorry Kreacher didn't have nothing to give." Kreacher commented.
"Your presents was gift enough," Sun assured. "And you helped out a lot."
"Yeah! I was happy you were here!" Harriette said reappearing. "I dropped one of my bookmarks. Got it!" She pressed a kiss to Kreachers. "You want me to introduce you to any body new today? Since I got these brand-new hair thingies to try out!"
"If you want to, and yer dads say it's fine?"
"Yeah, I trust you," Sun said.
"Yeah!" Harriette said.
"You're not gonna be in?" Ginny asked, she and Mayla appearing with a slightly dizzy looking Emelia. She gave a thumbs up.
"I'll be back in a bit," Harriette said. "I want to at least introduce Kreacher to Tensol and them." Harriette said. "Chicken too! I think you'll really like her! Oh! And Todd and Daisy, we've hardly had a chance to introduce you to anyone!" Harriette said. "But we'll stick to the lower portion of the plex." She was adjusting Kreachers disguise so that he'd be less obvious to anyone. Witch or otherwise.
"Mayla do you want to go too?"
"Yeah! Can Emelia and Ginny come?!"
"I don't know? Well, if Kreacher's going I suppose you'll have an adult with you," Molly said thoughtfully.
"We'll be good! And I know the Pizzaplex really well!" Harriette promised.
"Alright!"
"This is so exciting, with your hair looking like that you won't be recognized!" Emelia said. "I can go too?"
"Oh! I'm a little lonely all my girls are running off without me," Sun teased.
"Don't be a tease Daddies," Harriette said, pressing a kiss to Sun's cheek. "We'll be back really soon."
"Kreacher'll want to get back to writing soon anyway," Kreacher said.
"Yeah, and there's not much we're going to do," Harriette said. "It's a quick trip to show them my new hair colors and- Oh! Hold on!" Harriette disappeared only to reappear a second later.
"She's going to really hate it when she can't do that when she's older," Molly said. "I'm impressed she's so good at it."
"Here!" Harriette handed one of her scrunchies to Emelia.
"Since Petunia saw me with you, you should have a disguise too!" Harriette said.
"Oh! Right! That's really smart!" Emelia said. "And my parents won't catch us as likely."
"Be back in a hour!" Sun called as the three headed toward the door.
"'Kay!" Harriette said, waving. Sun took a picture with their internal camera. They'd print it out later.
Arsinry was in their new room, using magic to get everything set up the way they like it, well their pet's room was going to be nice. They were in a 20 gallon terrarium, making a suitable environment for their Bilgesnipe named Bilger. Thor had accidentally killed the mother, not knowing she was a mother at the time. When he found the young Bilger, not named yet of course. He took the young Bilgesnipe home, remembering that it was Arsinry's name day later on. So what better gift than a pet.
In the present, Arsinry was setting up their pets' new home. They had left the door to the room open incase Jazz, their brothers, or Thor needed them. Bilger was sitting in where the bed would go and the terrarium was in front of him.
Jazz walked in, to get Arsinry's opinion on something, when She saw a large horned green wingless dragon in her stepchild's room. The sound that followed was one of confusion, fear, and worry. In a matter of second Arsinry and Loki had appeared before her ready to fight off whatever threat might have been present.
"Bilgesnipe," Jazz whispered, grabbing Arsinry and gently but firmly trying to get her behind her. Arsinry looked between her stepmother and her Bilger, then giggled. Jazz looked at her and something understanding and relieved crossed her face. Unfortunately Loki was not nearly as quick to be placated. Growling, summoning knife and magic and charging toward Bilger. Arsinry of course, half in a panic, teleported Bilger and herself to safety. Jazz coming along for the ride into Bilger's terrarium.
The three stood a moment in a large forest that seemed old and had a deep magic of its own. Bilger ran off making the sound a happy bilgesnipe makes. Arsinry smiled as she watched it dash about it's enclosed space, then sighed, dropping to a seat on an old looking stump. Jazz settled next to her, but let her settle his own emotions.
"Welcome home little one," They said as they sat on a stump. Jazz let silence stretch on for a moment or two longer.
"I'm sorry I got you and your pet into trouble," Jazz said.
"Jazz, what are..did you hold…mother's going to kill me," Arsinry said looking at Jazz, standing in Bigler's room.
"I'll explain it to Loki," Jazz said, offering her hand to Arsinry to help them stand up. "Alright, so how about we come up with a small ground rule to avoid this happening again okay," Jazz said. "How about you make sure I'm introduced to all of your pets? That way they can't surprise me since I'll already know about them. That'll hopefully avoid any further conflicts in that area at least." Jazz looked around. "So, where-? Oh? Are we in that Terrarium you were making?"
"Yes, this is Bilger's room. I was redecorating it, seeing as it had been a while," Arsinry said.
"Neat," Jazz said, smiling. "That's pretty cool. Tobias would get a kick out of this." She chuckled then. "C'mon. Let's get back out before Loki decides to come in after us or tries to trash this place. You put far too much effort into this place to have it get thrown out." Arsinry put a hand on Jazz's shoulder and teleported the two out and enlarged them both. Loki was standing there furious, glaring at the terrarium. "Hello, love, it's fi-"
"Jazz are you alright?" Loki shouted, practically picking the woman up and pulling her away from the terrarium.
"I'm fine," Jazz said, a small eye roll. "Just a small misunderstanding."
"Yes, please check on the mortal child instead of your own flesh and blood,"Arsinry muttered glaring at their mother.
"Arsinry, you need to keep your pet in its cage or it will be removed," Loki growled.
"If you even cared to ask. You would know i have spells in place to keep Bilger in my room, when they are out of their enclosure. So kindly don't threaten my pets in MY room," Arsinry said deathly calm.
"Loki that's a little over the top," Jazz said.
"I don't want that thing wandering around the house!" Loki said not fully listening. "And keep it away from your younger siblings."
"I don't have younger siblings!" Arsinry shouted.
"You will in nine months, so keep that thing in its room or-!"
"Or What you'll leave me to die like Luphy did you! Wait-" Arsinry paused. "You're having a baby?" Arsinry shouted at Jazz, who was clearly going through her own roller coaster of emotions. If Arsinry was a little calmer he would have known that Jazz had just learned just by the look on her face. But Arsinry wasn't calmer and she felt betrayed and hurt and confused. So the yelling continued for several minutes. Mostly Arsinry and Loki yelling at each other. Eventually Jazz returned to her physical body.
"Ah, yes, a reasonable response," Jazz said, mostly to herself. "Alright! Enough!" Once the two Asgaudians were looking at her she finished. "Loki, dear, we're leaving. Arsinry. I'm sorry you had to find out this way. We'll discuss this further after things are calmer, and without, your mother. Door. now." She finished to Loki.
"I'm sorry mother didn't handle this with more tact. I'm going to go swim in the lake, Jazz." Arsinry said, grabbing their swim cloths from their bags.
"Alright." Jazz said. "I'm sure I don't need to tell you to be safe but I'm stressed right now so, be safe."
"Okay." Then Everyone left the room. Jazz and Loki through the door, and Arsinry through the window.
"We'll talk about that later," Jazz said.
Jazz knocked on the door, even though it was open. Arsinry had only settled his bed, and Bilger's terrarium into the room. She was seated on the bed with something akin to an angry pout. Arsinry was aware that they were being a little childish. But, gods she was losing his mind.
"Hey, I brought a peace offering." Jazz said.
"I don't need a peace offering from you. But thanks anyways," Arsinry said with a smile, a small bag near them on the floor they shoved it further into the corner.
"Well, how about a…" Jazz looked around the mostly empty room. Even though Arsinry had been in for two days they still hadn't unpacked any of their belongings. "A house warming present?" Jazz offered. Arsinry couldn't help but snicker.
"What kind of house warming present, I hope you know that I'm terrible with plants," Arsinry stated, still chuckling.
"No, I know full well from your mom," Jazz chuckled. "Can I come in?"
"Yeah," Arsinry said, making a comfortable chair appear next to her bed.
"Thanks," Jazz said. "So, I just finished something very important." Jazz said.
"Oh?" Arsinry asked.
"Yeah," Jazz said offering Arsinry a stack of papers. Arsinry took it looking over the papers confused. When they read what they were they couldn't help but smile.
"Are you sure?"
"I finished and turned in all the paperwork," Jazz said. "Just remember to introduce me so we don't have that happen again." Arsinry hugged the papers, smiling. She'd be able to finally build that menagerie of pets he'd always wanted.
"Did Thor tell you about that?" Arsinry asked after a few minutes of silence.
"No? I noticed that you have a very good skill for keeping pets, large pets," She gestured toward the terrarium. "And well, since I had to fill out the paperwork for the Bilgesnipe and the whole killing plants thing, I figured might as well get the permits to bring in a few more. Especially with how your mother, brothers, and other relatives are." Jazz laughed. "How do you feel about spiders?"
"Not my favorite creature, not even in the top one hundred to be honest," Arsinry said.
"Noted, I'll make sure that Tobes won't gift you that specific creature," Jazz said, chuckling. Arsinry chuckled too. "I hope you know you'll be getting at least one snake for your birthday." Jazz patted Arsinry's shoulder, and the teen chuckled.
Frisks Chapter!
Gelli: I've wanted to do an Undertale Fanfic since it came out, but my ADHD and Tanner wouldn't let me. So I'm doing it this way!
Tanner: I like Undertale fine, but I get nervous about using other people's cultures.
Gelli: S'why don't you write about anyone who isn't white.
Tanner: Yeah.
Gelli: Well, I'm perfectly fine with people giving me constructive criticism in that regard. Tell me if I'm wrong about something I wanna know.
Frisks Pronouns are He/They. Chara's are she/they. Since they are the only pronoun they share, that's what they use. They will refer to each other and He and She respectively to their preferred pronouns.
Frisk is an angry toddler. Chara's a sweet big sister. OC Missie entered the chat.
Disabled Frisk! Blind, Deaf, and Mute. Chara as a seeing eye ghost. Missie is too young to be a mom but she's raising the neighbor kids. Parents in the real world do this all the time and I hate them.
TRIGGER WARNINGS FOR: Mild Child Abuse; slapping, hair pulling, threats of further physical violence. Child Neglect; refusing of food, furnishings, clean clothing, hygienic supplies, denial of shelter, and ignoring a child's emotional needs. Verbal Abuse of a Minor: Insults, threats, and demeaning commentary. Also warning for dirty apartments including various types of insects, bugs and arachnids. Ignoring health needs, and the potential of infection, puss and other bodily fluids. As well as rashes, and scabs, as well as scab picking.
Frisk woke to the usual sounds of the apartment that they shared with their mother. His mother was yelling at someone.
Wow, she's at it this early, Chara's voice echoed gently in the back of Frisks mind. Frisk crawled forward toward the sliding door of his box. His mother didn't like him leaving without her permission, but their box was in the back of her closet. It was fine for them to leave for a little bit right. Frisk would probably hear her if she came back.
Is it early or is it late? Frisk asked. If it wasn't for Chara they wouldn't know how to speak at all. So they were really grateful for the older girl's presents in their life. Chara gave an echoing sigh, before checking. Neither of the two were sure how Chara was able to sense what time of day it was. Chara could only see and hear what things that happened with in a few feet of Frisk, or what Frisk could see and hear themself. Which wasn't much because Frisk couldn't see more than a tiny dot of blurry imagery in the center of their vision, and they could only hear things that were really, really loud. But Chara allowed them another form of sensory input that neither could describe so maybe that was it. Frisk stretched a little, he hoped his mother would be going out today so that they could get out of the closet. Maybe they'd even be able to sneak out to Missie's apartment. Missie would often give them snacks, and sometimes let them shower at their house. Frisk hoped today would be one of those days, because they were really itchy. They felt little bumps on their skin too, and those usually got itchier and itchier until Frisk peeled off the skin or showered, though the shower never helped for long. It was still a nice form of relief that didn't mean bleeding.
But Missie didn't have a great home life either so Frisk could only take cold showers and Missie couldn't let them do it often enough for any of their liking.
Missie was nice to them because kids from bad homes gotta stick together. That's why Chara had gotten attached to Frisk in the first place. Chara's birth family was bad too. Because of Chara Frisk was able to know that his mother should treat him better. Because Chara got adopted by a good mommy and daddy. Chara missed them, and Frisk promised that someday they'd help them get back to the family they loved. But right now Frisk was just three, and didn't know how to do that. They couldn't drive 'cause of their bad vision and Chara didn't know how to drive anyway, and Missie wouldn't be able to drive for another three years. So, the three stuck together and tried their best, but they planned to run away from home as soon as Missie could drive. They even had money to do it with. Because Frisk's mom avoided Frisk's box as long as Frisk was in it whenever she opened the closet, Frisk was able to hide the money that Missie got from this and that. Frisk wished they could do stuff to help, but being three and blind meant they couldn't do anything to help, but when they were bigger maybe they would be able to. They couldn't run away now anyways since Missie couldn't drive. Okay, technically Missie couldn't drive legally, but Missie was learning.
Once Missie was able to drive legally they'd run away to London, they couldn't really leave the United Kingdom 'cause of them being too young, but London wasn't that far from Scotland and that's where Aberdeen was. Frisk's stomach growled, pulling them out of their daydream.
They slipped back into their box since they clearly weren't in the head space for hearing things. They were glad they still could hear their mother yelling at whoever it was she was yelling at.
What is she even yelling about this early? Frisk complained. Chara sighed another of her soft sighs and they waited. Listening as the woman screamed and hollard and just made a general nuisance of herself. Chara wished they hadn't taught Frisk certain words, words like nuisance and putrid 'cuase Frisk thought those words were the best.
Tell me about your mommy and daddy, Frisk demanded. And your big brother too, I guess.
Okay, okay, Chara chided. My mom and dad live in a big mountain, like super big. The biggest! They're the king and queen of monsters… Chara continued telling Frisk the story about her parents, about the war between humans and monsters, about time travel, and dimension hopping and dieing. About her brother who wanted to kill humanity, but stopped because of his love for Chara. About magic and monsters, and realms beyond realms. Frisk listened as they kicked their feet. By the time Chara was done talking about it, their mother had gone to work and it was dark outside.
Perfect, that meant that Frisk could sneak out and only have to worry about the lights. Frisk stood up, a wave of dizziness was something that they weren't happy about. But still, they'd be able to sneak out. Frisk snuck to the door and opened it just a crack, only enough to sniff the air. There was the whiff of their mother's perfume. If the air smelled too much like it or had the smell of smoke Frisk would have had to duck back inside, but this level meant that his mom had gone out to do her job. Frisk didn't know what their mother did for a living but didn't wear a lot of clothes and always smelled like cigarettes and booze, all kinds. Frisk knew the smells because it was one of the few things that his mother taught him. Frisk could identify a good mark from a bad one just from the smell of their cigarettes, the smell of alcohol they drank, and the cologne or perfume they wore. The different smells that came from higher quality things compared to lower quality things. His mother used to bring him along to make money, back when she was doing more conning, but she'd tried to trick the wrong person and they'd almost died, the guy thought his mother was pretty though so he'd given her a deal. Frisk didn't understand all the words they used back then, and neither had Chara. Prostitution and whore were used a lot now though. Still, Frisk had been able to give Missie and edge to work with when they were conning people. They didn't have to do it as much 'cause Missie was able to work as a waitress now. But Frisk had always been scared that they'd get caught and Missie would get hurt.
Frisk made their way down the stairs and around the corner to slip into the bushes, they'd crawl through them, then they'd be able to get to Missie's house on the other side of the apartments. Frisk loved the under bushes. It was like going into a whole different world. One where they were free of other people.
Chara sent out her sensor, to check for others when they reached the place they'd have to exit. They slipped into the darkness, making them actually unable to see anything, but then they were safely in the next set of bushes, and crawling along the safe and familiar route.
Careful of spiders, Chara said. I don't know if they're poisonous or not.
I'll be fine, Frisk shot back.
I'm sure, Chara said, But I still worry.
I've been doing this for over a year now, Frisk said. Nothing bad's happened yet. Frisk knew that didn't mean that nothing bad could happen, but it was better to reassure the ghost girl before she started leaking. Frisk hated it when Chara leaked. The stuff tasted really nasty, and made it even harder to see.
Yeah, just be careful, there's a branch, duck, Chara said. Frisk obeyed as he always did.
Is there anybody else in the area? They were getting closer to Missie's window.
Nope! At Chara's words Frisk slipped closer to the building and out of the bushes, and stood, tapping on the window.
"-y -sk, sh, -w'r-o-" Frisk could tell it was Missie's voice, but she was whispering.
She asked how you are? To Frisk, Chara's voice was the only one that was clear. Everyone else's voice came across like they were talking under water. How Chara was able to understand them was beyond Frisk or their own understanding.
Frisk gave a thumbs up, then tilted it slightly sideways so that it was diagonal instead of straight up. It was the only way Frisk could talk, since on top of being deaf and blind they were also mute. It made like exceedingly frustrating but Frisk had learned to manage. They had Missie and Chara and that was all they needed.
"-m g-d, awa-d-e bo- oo," Missie said, pulling Frisk inside her room. "-o- -d -d -r-n't h-m -o -ow-r."
Her parents aren't home so you can shower, Chara said along with Missie. Frisk nodded as way of answer. The water was cold but soap and shampoo was soothing.
"-d t- u- om- v- -r g-t -ay -ney," Missie said.
That sucks, but what can you do? Chara didn't translate that part, so Frisk could only copy their emotion and shrug.
"- g-r-d -oo -oud-nt -r-." Frisk nodded to that one. "Ore -o -nd-ng." Missie said, hugging them. They rinsed off with more of the icy water then Missie dressed them in an over big sweater and shorts, Chara said they were school gym shorts for big kids but Frisk wasn't sure what that meant. Missie dressed into her work uniform, Frisk only could tell 'cuase it was bright pink and Missie preferred dark clothes. It helped hide dirt and bruises. Frisk wondered if she had lots of bruises. Chara told them they were covered in bruises, and the spots she pointed out were always sore. Frisk didn't like that Missie was hurt. It made them feel sick. Missie picked Frisk up and they walked out of the door. They headed to her work. Which wasn't that far away, but they had to take a bus. Like they always had too. Missie didn't always work late at night but she'd been picking up lots and lots of shifts to save up for their get away plan. Missie hated working at night cause she said it was always super scary and she worried she and Frisk would get attacked. Frisk always had to pat her reassuringly, or steer her clear of dangerous people, but still. They'd managed to avoid danger so far. That didn't mean they wouldn't get attacked someday. There was a creepy guy who was always watching Missie like a hungry animal. Frisk couldn't see the guy, but Chara had insisted he was there. Frisk was glad Chara could sense stuff like that.
He's not here today, Chara said. Frisk sagged in relief, as Missie settled into one of the seats on the bus. She sighed, tiredly. She been working lots and lots more hours cause her parents weren't in town, their neighbors were kind enough not to tell on Missie, but Chara said they'd have to tell someone if they knew about Frisk and then Frisk would be sent to an orphanage like Chara had and Chara had died because of that. So that was that. Frisk would never, ever get caught. His life was bad now, but he didn't want to die, and he didn't want to be separated from Missie. She and Chara were their whole world. So they weren't going to be separated from them no matter what. The bus ride was uneventful, the bus line ended really close to Missie's workplace too, so they were able to get there safely.
The shift was boring as always but the head chief and manager let Frisk and Missie eat things that might have gone to waste if they didn't eat it. So that was nice. And the regulars at the dinner were always nice too. There was even an old lady who would teach Frisk brail who came in from time to time. Chara always had to translate any text that wasn't brail, but it was nice to be able to read to Chara from time to time. Frisk clicked to themself, their own version of humming, waiting for Missie's shift to end. They'd eaten a few extra things cause the lady who taught them brail had come in and ordered them a thing of fries. Frisk wasn't against fries but they weren't their favorite food either. Maybe it was because it was one of the most commonly forgone food things that people passed to them, and Frisk wasn't going to be ungrateful for food even if it was bad. They'd eaten way worse.
Hours later it's time to make their way home, tired and ready to sleep. The sun coming up allowing Frisk to see more clearly than at night. Not that they can see much. Missie gives them all the tip money she made during her shift, tucking it into their pocket, and pressing a kiss to their forehead before sending them out. She took on a shift for another coworker so she's gotta keep working. She watches from the door until Frisk gets on to the bus.
No creepy guy, Chara comments. She's starts telling a story to keep Frisk awake while they make their way home. Another uneventful bus ride gets them to the apartment complex. It takes a bit of effort to sneak in without risking getting caught, but eventually they climb the stairs and slip unnoticed into their mothers apartment. Their mother is sound asleep in her bed, booze bottles littering the floor and a still smoking Cigarette. Frisk doesn't want to risk being set on fire so they put the cigarette out, and clean up some of the bear bottles. There's the smell of rotting food stuff and the sound of a mouse scurrying away from them as they pick up. Once they clean up the bottles so their mother won't trip when waking up they slip back into the closet. Then to back and slide open their box. They hide their money and snuggle into their bedding, and fall asleep for a few hours.
There's a crash, and yelling. Frisk sits up in their bed almost hitting their head on a the roof of their box.
What's going on? Frisk asked.
I don't know, Chara said. You know I have to sleep when- something crashed into the top of Frisk's box room. Causing the two children to flinch. If the two could hug each other they would.
"Hey, piece of shit!" Frisk's mother's voice was loud enough that it was clear even in Frisk's muffled words. She appeared in the tiny spot of Frisk's vision, filling it up, her hand reaching toward Frisk's face. She grabbed Frisk's hair and yanked them out of the room. "Where the fuck is it?" Frisk wasn't sure what she was talking about but she throw Frisk. "Where the fuck is my lipstick!" she shouted. "I've got a job and I need it!" Frisk had started putting things in a place they could find them after one to many of these occasions, his mother lost things pretty often if Frisk and Chara didn't put them away. Frisk pointed to the dresser, popping his lips together as a form of answering. His mother slapped him. "I checked there you fucking shit!" She grabbed his hand and yanked them up to scream in his face. "You fucking hid it to get attention didn't you!" She yanked him around, before letting Them go. They shook their head scooching away toward the dresser to prove he'd put it away in the top drawer, where he put all his mother's make-up stuff. Once he'd grabbed it they presented it to her in both their hands. Shaking. Eyes clenched shut. They knew that she was going to hit them anyway, but it was better than what she'd do if she didn't get what she wanted. She slapped him again after taking it. "You think I'm stupid don't you?" he shook his head, clicking his tongue and popping his lips to try and get their meaning across. Even if they didn't think she was a good mother, even if they didn't want to stay with her, even if they knew she hated them… They'd never once thought anything bad about her.
She was only twenty one years old. Her parents were way worse and abandoned her when she was just sixteen. She'd found Frisk's dad and then he'd abandoned her too when he found out she was pregnant. She'd been forced to make money on her own. She'd been forced to lie and steal. She'd been used by bad people. His mother was a bad mother, but she wasn't a bad person. She just had to learn the hard way that you couldn't count on anyone. It was one of the only lesson's she'd had to teach them. So, that's what she'd done.
Frisk and Missie had been lucky to find each other. They looked out for each other. Frisk hid Missie's escape money, and helped her with finding people to get money from. Missie made sure Frisk could eat and get clean clothes and bath and stuff. Right now Missie provided more for Frisk then Frisk could for her. They were still lucky to have each other. Frisk's mother wasn't lucky though, she had the worst luck.
That's why no matter how bad she was too them, they couldn't hate her. They couldn't think she was dumb either, cause in the end despite being unlucky, and having nobody to rely on she'd managed to survive to twenty one years of age. She'd managed to keep a sickly baby like Frisk alive. She didn't let them starve, she kept a roof over their head. She deserved better. That's why Frisk hoped that leaving would help his mother too. She'd have one less thing to try and worry about. Still they worried about who would help her find things when she lost them, but she wasn't dumb so she'd be able to survive just fine without Frisk.
Their mother scoffed, before turning toward the door to the room. She was probably heading to the bathroom.
"Cl- th- -ck-ng -." She wasn't yelling at them anymore so Frisk couldn't make out what she was saying.
She wants you to clean the apartment again, Chara said. Frisk sighed. This wasn't the first time their mother wanted them to clean the apartment and it wouldn't be the last, but they did wish she'd ask more often. Cleaning up several months worth of garbage was always the worst. Frisk was glad they had Chara to tell them how to even do it.
After several hours of bagging trash, scrubbing floors, doing laundry, and dishes, sweeping, vacuuming and mopping the apartment was finally clean. Frisks mother had left hours ago, she'd left a note on the lower part of the door.
'If you eat anything in the fridge this apartment better be spotless!' that was encouragement. His mother was in a good mood today. Her work must be going well. Frisk was happy for her. They double checked the whole house looking for any hidden spots of filthy. They even decided to wash their own blankets, tucking their escape money into their pockets. It was already well past dark, but Frisk knew their mother wouldn't be home for hours and hours. They scrubbed their blanket in the tub, rinsing and ringing it out, before hanging it up to dry with all the rest of their laundry. Then Frisk made another round of checks to in sure nothing was dirty. There was only the pile of trashbags at the front door. Frisk opened the door and started carrying the bags out. It didn't take more than twenty minutes to get the trash out. Another check over had Chara reassuring Frisk that they house was indeed spotless.
We're good, Frisky Business, Chara chattered amicably. Now eat something. You've earned a break.
I didn't do much of anything important.
I think you did, Chara said. You cleaned the whole house on your own. Got rid of all the bugs and even could a few of the mice and rats that your mom brought in you deserve a good meal and a nice break.
Maybe, Frisk said thoughtfully, pulling out some of the sandwich fixings that were still good enough to eat. They'd had to clean out a huge chunk of the fridge before scrubbing it so it was nice and clean, to be able to eat this sandwich. They were going to enjoy it.
