"Are you feeling any better?" Kerchak asked Puna.

"A little bit," Puna replied.

"Good," Kerchak smiled, "Now, I want you to support Terk, and not make fun of her."

"I promise," Puna said.

She turned to Terk.

"Listen, Terk," she began, "I know that I've been giving you a hard time lately. I'm sorry about that. I do love you."

"I love you too, Puna," Terk said.

She whispered something in her sister's ear. Terk whispered something back. They hugged. After that, Puna and Terk went off to play. Kala smiled watching the sisters play together.

Kerchak put an arm around Kala.

"You were right," he told her.

Kala laughed.

"Just in general or anything specific," she asked jokingly.

"I used to think that punishment was necessary at some points. I thought it was needed for order and to keep the family safe. You always thought communication was important and valid."

"All negativities should come with a skull and crossbones because it's toxic," Kala said.

Moonlight woke up.

"Hi sweetheart," Kerchak licked her nose.

Moonlight yawned sleepily and smiled.

"Look at her," Kala said, "Even though she's sick she's still smiling."

Three days later they took Moonlight back to Dr. Jungle. She examined her and then took Kala and Kerchek to the side.

"It's always hard to deliver news like this," Dr. Jungle said, "Moonlight isn't getting better. The rash has spread, and her test shows that there is significant damage to her entire body. At this point, there are two choices. There's a special medication that has shown some potential. She will have to stay here over the next few weeks, however. It's costly in time because one of you will always have to be with her until she is recovered."

Kala nodded her head.

"The other choice," Dr. Jungle added, "is to put her to sleep."

Kerchak's head jerked up as he heard that. Kala's did too.

"Are you insane," Kerchak demanded.

"There's no way we are killing our daughter," Kala cried.

She sobbed at the thought.

"So we're going with the first option," Dr. Jungle said, "I figured you would choose that."
