Saga 2, Buck Destiny. Episode 1, Part 1: The Deal.
"Been a while," The Doctor smiled, sitting at the table. "Heard you joined Hilda's crew."
S'mouth looked up from his omni-tool. Sighing, the demigod-like entity, turned off the holographic computer screen. "Tell me to leave... and I will."
"No... no, it's good to see you... still working for a Cosmic horror?" the Doctor smiled, showing he meant it teasingly. The smile even met his eyes.
"Technically, I AM that Cosmic Horror. Bi generation, it's a bitch." S'mouth grinned. "How long have you known?"
"Since before I first contacted you. Told you, I was researching you. Was quite intrigued to have a fae reincarnate itself as a Sangheili, claiming to be my child... amazed when I met you, and learned you literally bent reality to birth yourself."
"Not quite, The experiment would have succeeded in making a Sangheili clone of you. I merely... ensured nothing bad would come of it." S'mouth sighed. "Although I honestly believed I'd be able to save The Covenant. Sodding mess that was."
The Doctor smile turned almost patronizing... but held a strange fondness. "Well, your young, you'll get the hang of safely altering fixed points."
"I actually didn't know what I was, until my physical body turned the human equivalent of 42. Just a vague awareness of a mission to save the Elites, and a few dreams about fantastical past lives. Would have been nice if YOU told me."
The Doctor snorted, "How do you imagine that conversation would have gone?
" By the way, you aren't just my gene spliced son. But a Bi-Generation of my half fairy grand-daughter, that merged your consciousness with a developing fetus. And its not even the first time you did this."
"I'm fairly open minded... I would have believed you." S'mouth's smile turned sad, as he gave a helpless shrug.
"Gullibles more like," The Doctor huffed.
"Is it really gullible, when it's true?" S'mouth looked thoughtful.
"When it's as outlandish as that, yes." The Doctor crossed his arms, with a pout.
"I'd believe anything you told me," S'mouth swore, looking at his father fondly.
The Doctor sighed, "There is a reason I'm called 'the god who lies'. You shouldn't take everything I say at face value."
"You only lie, when it's dangerous too know the truth." S'mouth insisted
"Or when it's too inconvenient to explain something," The Doctor assured. "Don't fool yourself kid, I'm a liar by nature... it's one of my worst flaws."
S'mouth eyed the Doctor, "I trust you." He insisted. "And I trust you wouldn't lie to me, unless it was for my own good. Besides, you forget, I'm a skilled Telepath. I can feel when you lie. I just know not to push you, when you do."
The Doctor sighed, "As concerning as your blind trust in me is-"
"I think most people have that when it comes to their parents," S'mouth shrugged.
"At the moment," The Doctor moved on. " I'm more concerned about why you sought out my former companion... I'm hoping it's just a desire to get to know my friends, but I can't help feeling it's more."
"You want to know what I'm doing here?" Snickersnack sighed.
The Doctor just gave the boy a critical eye. Despite the child living multiple lives. By Time Lord standards he was still a boy. The child wasn't even 10 thousand yet.
"It's for a kindness," S'mouth insisted.
The Doctor shrugged, "Never occurred to me it be anything else."
S'mouth smiled, then sighed. "But I'm sad to report, your worries are justified. Time Lords can't see their own future... but I've seen your friends. The Pirates have found ways to kill the lot of you... permanently. By destroying your very soul. Hilda..."
The Doctor stiffened.
"Out of our love for you. All the Susan Bi-Generations are gathering. We will save her from her fate, it's what we do, protect against destiny's crueler design. Don't worry, we will save her... Dad."
"It's a fixed point," The Doctor realized.
"I can change fixed points. If someone willingly feeds me their destiny. I'm just trying to think of the best way to approach her."
"You don't have to."
S'mouth groaned, suddenly sensing Hilda behind him. The Doctor must have been shielding her. Mind reading was Susan's specialty, while the Doctor was better at mental shields. Must of been why the Doctor was so adamant about not trusting him... but as Susan suspected, it was because the Doctor was doing what's best.
Hilda sat at the table, "In exchange for not having my soul destroyed, and you serving loyally on my crew, I'll let you eat my destiny." Hilda held out her hand. "Do we have a Deal?" she appeared to understand fae custom... she understood the power of their deals.
S'mouth hesitated to take the hand. "I'll try my best to protect you, and service your crew as long as you'll have me... in exchange for you giving up your cruel fate." At Hilda's nod, S'mouth informed, "this will hurt."
He reached out, taking her hand, "We have a deal."
Hilda tensed, but refused to scream. As she felt herself lose... something. It wasn't tangible, more like an overwhelming feeling of loss. As the cosmic ties to fate were ripped out of her.
Once the sensation was over, she still felt like she was missing something. Just a nagging itch in the back of her mind.
"Sorry, my counterparts are better at that then me," S'mouth fidgetted. "Can't seem to get the hang of it."
Hilda took in a breath, trying to ignore the nagging feeling she was missing something. "Its alright," She assured. "But now what?"
"Now, I'm free to kill the pirates hunting you. I can use my TARDIS to track them." Snickersnack grinned getting up.
"Wait a moment," Hilda ordered. "I want Piccolo and Grunt to go with you."
The orange elite hesitantly sat back down. As Hilda contacted the mentioned crewmen.
Author's Note : Okay NOW, as of March 13th 2024, I'm finished Revising this story.
I moved most CODEXes to the 4th Chapter of the story. So people can get invested before being hit by the giant info dump. I think it makes it flow better, since frankly I don't have enough chapters to end each on a relevant CODEX, like i wanted.
I made many alterations to lore, and added new content, so please check it out.
I also made it so this story takes place in my Main Universe, where all Doctors are bi generations.
Where the first Doctor Bi-Generates, at every 13th regeneration. While always keeping his 1st face.
However, his Bi-Generations, use their regeneration energy as a more limited healing factor. When they actually do die, they can Respawn, but it takes 100 years to reform. Or they can send their conciousness back to their past body, at a moment when they were sleeping.
They also have multiversal Gamer powers, and magic bending of time and space.
The Doctor's "Bi-Generations", manifest as different Doctors, from the shows various canons, including alternative canons (such as the audio dramas, shorts, and comics) and reconned storylines.
