Green with Evil

Interpersonal – Part 2

"Wow, they're really going all out," Zack exclaimed, reacting to the footage displayed on the viewing globe. "Scorpina's making her move just outside the city, accompanied by more Putties than we've ever encountered. And Goldar is prowling around the High School."

"Which is essentially the city's epicenter," Billy added.

"No sign of the Green Ranger, though," Trini interjected.

"Yeah," Zack sighed, deflated, realizing he hadn't considered that.

"Rita's strategy is to divide and conquer," Jason analyzed. "She knows we can't fully focus on both threats simultaneously. Frankly, I believe both are just distractions."

"Agreed," Billy chimed in, projecting a holographic map of the city on one of his monitors. "Scorpina's attack here targets a major entrance and exit, trapping civilians. Goldar's assault on the High School feels more pointed, directly challenging us. But with such a small fleet, Rita wouldn't be able to secure it."

"Smoke and mirrors," Trini said, understanding the strategy.

"Doesn't Rita have anything better to do on a Saturday?" Kimberly grumbled, more than inconvenienced.

"Ayi-yi-yi," Alpha exclaimed, waving their arms. "I wonder what she's planning. It's going to be challenging not to react impulsively, Rangers."

"Guys," Zack pointed to the screen. Scorpina was now targeting civilians, and the Angel Grove Rescue Squad was mobilizing. "Trask is already responding."

"That's troubling," Trini said. "Do you think he'll unleash any of his experiments?"

"Project Restoration..." Zack mused. "This guy is just adding another layer of trouble to all of this."

"Alpha, keep an eye out from here. We're not used to facing monsters from our own government," Jason instructed.

"I'll do what I can, but those energy signatures will be unique. Tracking them without exposure will be challenging," Alpha responded.

"Just do your best, Alpha," Jason encouraged. "Now for us. We have to split up. Scorpina is a fierce warrior, one of Rita's best. She's had time to rest and gain power. We need more support up front. Zack, Kim – you're with me. I'll head down to the field, and you two, snipers from above. Thin out her lines."

"But Jason, Scorpina seems..." Kim started, and Jason placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder.

"I'll be okay – I know what I'm doing," he assured with a smile. "Plus, you've got my back, right? I shouldn't have anything to worry about." Kim's eyes widened, and she smiled.

"Yes, I've got you," she said without hesitation.

"Billy – Trini, subdue Goldar. Get as many civilians away from the school as possible. If we pressure Scorpina, Goldar will retreat to regroup with her," Jason directed.

"Don't underestimate Goldar," Zack warned. "He's Rita's right hand for a reason."

"I know exactly what I'm dealing with," Trini affirmed confidently, turning to Billy, nodding in assurance. They were confident they had the situation under control.

"Alright, Rangers," Jason declared, the urgency in the air escalating as he signaled their morph formation. The Rangers swiftly took their designated positions behind him, gripping their power morphers in readiness. "It's Morphin Time!"

The familiar battle cry echoed through the command center as each Ranger called upon their respective Zords:

"Mastodon!"

"Pterodactyl!"

"Triceratops!"

"Sabretooth Tiger!"

"Tyrannosaurus!"

As the morphing sequence initiated, shimmering energy enveloped each Ranger, transforming their civilian attire into vibrant, color-coded armored suits. The Mastodon emblem adorned Zack, Kim's suit showcased the Pterodactyl insignia, Billy's Triceratops emblem gleamed, Trini's suit featured the Sabretooth Tiger emblem, and the imposing Tyrannosaurus emblem adorned Jason.

With their helmets forming around their heads, the Rangers were now fully suited up, ready to face the impending threats. The powerful surge of energy surrounded them as they stood in their transformed state, a united force against the looming danger. The command center buzzed with anticipation, acknowledging the readiness of Earth's defenders.

"Let's do this, Rangers!" Jason exclaimed; his voice amplified by the enhanced communication systems within their helmets. The team, now fully morphed, teleported out of the command center, leaving behind the hum of the teleportation beams and a sense of determination in the air. Angel Grove awaited their protection as the Power Rangers descended into action.

Billy and Trini materialized just outside Angel Grove High School, their Power Ranger suits gleaming with vibrant energy. The urgency of their mission hung in the air as they surveyed the surroundings, aware that Goldar posed a direct threat to the school. It didn't seem as there was commotion, which meant that Goldar hadn't yet fully attacked.

Trini's gaze met Billy's beneath their helmets, an unspoken understanding passing between them. They were not just protecting the city; they were safeguarding the very places and people they held dear.

"Alright, Trini, let's focus on Goldar. We need to get everyone out of harm's way," Billy said through the helmet communicator.

Trini nodded, her determination reflected in the gleam of her Sabretooth Tiger helmet. Swiftly, the duo made their way toward the school entrance, navigating the empty halls with a sense of urgency. The atmosphere was tense as they reached the courtyard, where Goldar's imposing figure emerged, accompanied by a low, menacing laughter that sent shivers down their spines.

The contrast between the eerily quiet halls and the lively sounds emanating from the gym across the field heightened the surreal nature of the situation. Inside the school gym, the swimming competition was in full swing, completely oblivious to the impending danger. Cheers and applause echoed through the building as Brent competed, unaware of the imminent threat that loomed outside.

What are you doing here, Goldar?" Trini questioned, readying herself for the impending clash. Goldar's response was delivered with an air of ominous certainty as he admitted to being nothing more than an obstacle.

"Simply put – just being an obstacle. You're running out of time, Rangers," Goldar declared, prompting exchanged glances between Billy and Trini beneath their helmets. Goldar's unexpected transparency raised questions about Rita's motives – what was she planning? What did he mean?

Trini, undeterred, taunted, "Wow – you must really be low on Rita's priority list to simply be the distraction." Goldar's laughter ceased, and his red eyes narrowed, visibly bothered by Trini's comment.

"Silence, Human," he responded sharply. Trini felt a deep satisfaction at getting under his skin.

As Billy surveyed the surroundings, his heart raced upon glimpsing Brent through the tall glass gym windows. The personal stake in the mission intensified for him, but he composed himself. Emotions couldn't dictate their actions. They were outnumbered, but strategic and calculated moves were their forte.

"Trini, we need to evacuate the school. There's a swimming competition inside, and Brent is in there," Billy urgently communicated, unintentionally emphasizing Brent's name more than he intended.

Trini's eyes darted toward Billy, conveying empathy as she acknowledged the gravity of the situation. "We'll get everyone to safety, Billy. Let's make sure Brent and the others are out of harm's way."

As Goldar advanced menacingly, Trini sprang into action, her Blade-Blaster drawn. Each movement was a dance of precision and control as she skillfully fended off the encroaching Putties. Simultaneously, Billy retrieved his Blade-Blaster, keeping it in blaster mode, and unleashed a barrage of energy beams, carving a path through the approaching foes.

"Nice work, Billy," Trini commended, recognizing the opening he had created. Now, it was her turn to reciprocate. She needed to create an opportunity for him. "Billy, when I say go, go – I'll handle Goldar, and you sound the alarm."

"Trini, I can't leave you out here," Billy protested, his attention still focused on blasting away Putties.

"I'll be fine, Billy – just move quickly," Trini assured him. With determination in her eyes, she charged forward toward Goldar, ready to face the formidable foe. Leaping into the air, she executed a full front flip and landed gracefully in front of Goldar. Swiftly, she delivered a precise jab to his plated armor and seamlessly swung around, going low to sweep his feet out from under him. The tactical move momentarily caught Goldar off guard.

As Trini engaged Goldar in close combat, Billy seized the opportunity to sprint toward the gym doors. He trusted Trini's skills and knew she could handle herself. His Blade-Blaster remained at the ready, prepared to sound the alarm and ensure the safety of those inside the school.

Billy sprinted forward, the challenge of grabbing everyone's attention amid the roaring applause seemed daunting. Bursting into the gym, his entrance did catch the eyes of some, sparking hushed voices among those who noticed him. However, the majority remained fixated on the ongoing match. Surveying the room, Billy spotted Brent on the sidelines, already out of the water, his swim competition likely completed.

"Attention, everyone! This is an emergency! Please remain calm but we need to evacuate the school immediately." The once jubilant atmosphere turned to one of concern and confusion. Brent, still in his swim gear, looked particularly puzzled. Billy tried not to get too distracted by him.

In the room, most students overlooked him as Billy, but as the Blue Ranger, there was an unexpected sense of respect. Or, at least, that's how he perceived it.

"What – what did he say?" one parent inquired, attempting to make sense of the sudden announcement.

"Are we under attack?" another exclaimed, their tone filled with despair. The collective uncertainty rippled through the gym as students, parents, and faculty grappled with the abrupt shift in mood.

"Yes – we need to evacuate. My teammate is holding them off in the courtyard, but you guys need to get to safety. We can do so out the back way," Billy said, running toward the back entrance of the Gymnasium. "Getting to safety is the number one priority," he said. But when he reached the doors, he heard a familiar sound of Putty Patrol noises coming from outside. "Oh, crap…" he said.

With his blaster poised for action, Billy burst the doors open, swiftly dispatching a Putty with a well-aimed shot to its head, reducing it to a pile of dirt. The gym was swarming with half a dozen more of these golems, presenting a formidable challenge. Glancing back, Billy noticed the crowd's composure slipping into hysteria.

"Everyone, stay calm!" Billy urged, firing at two more Putties. "Gather up! When I signal, we'll make our way out of here." Just then, chaos erupted as three additional Putties crashed through the windows, shattering glass and escalating the panic among students and parents. "Of course..." Billy muttered, realizing the situation was escalating.

As the danger unfolded, Billy transformed his blaster into its blade form and swiftly dealt with the Putties in the room. His attention shifted to Brent, who was among his family—brother Trent and Skarlet. The latter emitted a blood-curdling scream, a haunting reminder of past encounters with Putties.

Brent attempted to fend off a Putty but struggled. The creature effortlessly struck all three of them down with a single blow. "Stega-Stinger," Billy exclaimed, producing a small device. A cord shot from it, securing itself around a ceiling beam. Billy leapt up, riding the cord across the gym, positioning himself directly behind the Putty, and ran his blade through it. The creature crumbled to dirt before Brent, Trent, and Skarlet.

"Thank you, Blue Ranger," Skarlet expressed gratitude as Trent assisted her. Billy extended his hand to Brent, concern evident in his voice.

"Are you okay?" he asked, purposely lowering his tone to conceal his identity. Brent took his hand, smiling, and rose to his feet.

"Now we are," Brent replied, causing Billy's heart to skip a beat. Unintentionally, Billy held onto Brent's hand a bit longer than planned, the connection lingering.

Brent, sensing something unusual, cast a curious look at the Blue Ranger. Billy released Brent's hand, turning his attention back to the imminent danger. "You need to get to safety—head towards the exits and keep going. We'll try to contain the attack here. Go directly home and stay put!" Sirens blared in the background as Billy led the way to the exit, dispatching Putties along the way. With a gesturing motion, he signaled for people to follow.

Locking eyes with Brent once more, Billy held the exit open, ensuring others escaped safely. Brent paused before leaving, stealing another glance at the Blue Ranger. Billy, concealed behind his helmet, could feel his skin warming. Nodding in acknowledgment, Brent moved on with his family, leaving Billy to continue safeguarding the gym and concealing his true identity.

Back in the courtyard, Trini faced the formidable Goldar, in a dance of combat that transcended mere physicality. The air crackled with tension as their weapons clashed, each strike resonating with power. Trini's power daggers gleamed in the sunlight. Goldar, towering over her, brandished his golden sword with menacing precision. Their battle unfolded with a series of swift movements, each combatant seeking an opening in the other's defense.

Goldar lunged forward, aiming a powerful strike at Trini's midsection. With a blend of agility and instinct, she sidestepped the attack, retaliating with a flurry of dagger strikes. The precision of her movements showcased her growing skills as a ranger, creating a mesmerizing spectacle of grace and strength. Regardless of what she'd been through with Daniel – she wouldn't let someone like Goldar beat her.

Despite Goldar's immense strength, Trini's acrobatic prowess allowed her to navigate around his attacks. She leaped into the air, executing a spinning kick aimed at Goldar's head. The golden-armored foe blocked with his sword, the clash resonating through the courtyard.

The battle intensified as Goldar summoned energy beams from his sword, attempting to overwhelm Trini. She responded with a series of deft evasions and counterattacks, her agility proving to be a vital asset in facing the towering adversary. "Gotta love those afterhours Command Center training drills…" she said under huffed breath.

She knew she couldn't beat Goldar on strength alone. If she had a chance, she had to rely on her speed. The fluidity of the fight took an unexpected turn as Trini executed a rapid spin, her daggers creating a protective barrier against Goldar's relentless assault. The energy from his attacks crackled against the blades, creating a dazzling display of light and sound.

"It is hopeless, Yellow Ranger!" Goldar yelled in response.

Amidst the clash of weapons, Trini seized a moment of opportunity. With a swift, well-timed move, she disarmed Goldar, sending his golden sword clattering to the ground. "For you, maybe!" she spat back. The courtyard fell silent for a brief moment, the tension escalating as Trini stood poised for the next move.

Unfazed, Goldar unleashed a primal roar, summoning his formidable strength. The battle continued as Goldar charged forward. Trini's agility and martial prowess remained unmatched as she weaved through Goldar's strikes, delivering precise blows to vulnerable points.

Just when it seemed that Trini's relentless maneuvers might overcome Goldar, the towering foe unleashed a devastating counterattack. His powerful strikes forced Trini to step back, creating a momentary opening. Goldar seized the opportunity, preparing to deliver a potentially incapacitating blow.

But in that critical moment, a streak of blue energy streaked across the courtyard. Billy landed with precision, wielding his Power Lance. The unexpected entrance caught Goldar off guard, disrupting his impending attack on Trini.

"Need a hand, Trini?" Billy quipped.

Trini, catching her breath, nodded appreciatively. The duo seamlessly synchronized their movements, a testament to their friendship and how much they trained with each other. Together, they faced the golden adversary, their weapons poised for the counteroffensive.

The courtyard became a battleground, with Trini and Billy coordinating their attacks to create a formidable front against Goldar. Their movements were a ballet of blades against the golden-armored foe.

Trini lunged forward, distracting Goldar with a flurry of dagger strikes, while Billy strategically positioned himself for a calculated strike. With impeccable timing, he swung his Power Lance, creating a powerful arc that struck Goldar off balance.

The duo seamlessly alternated between offense and defense, each covering the other's vulnerabilities. Goldar, now facing the combined might of the Blue and Yellow Rangers, found himself pressed on all sides.

The fight reached its zenith as Trini and Billy executed a synchronized attack. Trini leaped into the air, flipping over Goldar, while Billy aimed a precise strike at the back of the foe's knees. The coordinated assault forced Goldar to kneel, momentarily incapacitated.

In that brief respite, Trini and Billy regrouped, ready for the next phase of their battle, taking a powerful stance with their weapons at the ready. Goldar, recovering from the joint onslaught, roared with renewed fury, determined to overcome the resilient Rangers.

"Did you get them all out?" Trini asked.

"Yeah – it was evacuated," Billy replied.

"And Brent?" she asked.

"Safe," he said simply. He couldn't think about that right now. "How long do you think we can keep this up?" Billy asked, feeling himself drained from this fight.

"As long as it takes," Trini replied, determined to force Goldar into a retreat. "We stick to the plan. Let's just hope Jason and the others are doing alright."

Jason, Kimberly, and Zack found themselves on the outskirts of the city. The air crackled with tension as they faced the imminent threat posed by Scorpina and her army of Putties. There was a silence that lingered between them, yet there felt like so much to say. Whatever Rita was planning today, felt like something big. A malice that they couldn't articulate.

The sudden eruption of gunshots shattered the silence, marking the response of the Angel Grove Rescue Squad, undoubtedly under the command of Trask himself.

"Great," Kimberly sighed in response to the escalating chaos.

"Stay sharp, you two," Jason commanded, his voice resonating through the communication systems within their helmets. "We need to thin out Scorpina's forces before we close in. Kimberly, take the high ground. Zack, cover me as we advance."

Acknowledging the directive, Kimberly summoned her Power Bow in a burst of pink light. "I'll be close," she assured, swiftly turning to identify the perfect vantage point. With a graceful leap, she ascended into the sky, perching atop a nearby building to survey the battlefield and provide sniper support.

In parallel readiness, Zack readied his Power Axe, conjured in a mysterious black light, prepared to cover Jason's advance.

"Remember, Trask isn't exactly our friend. The A.G.R.S. has accepted our help before, but they've also attacked us. We can't assume anything. Do not attack them – just try to disarm if they become hostile," Jason cautioned, emphasizing the unpredictable nature of their alliance with the Angel Grove Rescue Squad.

As the duo pressed forward, approaching the city's edge, Putties emerged from the shadows, a legion accompanying Scorpina in her ominous approach.

"Here goes nothing," Jason said; The air crackled with energy as Jason advanced, his Power Sword drawn and ready. Scorpina, adorned in her scorpion-like armor, moved with a lethal grace, her eyes fixed on the Red Ranger. The Putties, eerie and silent, surrounded them, creating an ominous arena for the impending battle.

Scorpina's bloodlust for Jason was palpable, a personal vendetta that heightened the intensity of the confrontation. She lunged at him with a swift strike, her Stinger-Sword swiping with deadly precision. Jason deftly evaded, responding with a series of acrobatic maneuvers to counter her relentless assault.

The clash between them echoed through the outskirts of the city. The Power Sword met Scorpina's blade in a flurry of sparks.

"Is this the best you've got, Red Ranger?" Scorpina taunted, her voice dripping with malice.

Zack cut down Putty after Putty with ease, trying to keep them off of Jason. Likewise, pink arrows cut through the air, taking down any that were getting too close. Scorpina didn't even seem to notice Zack. "Kim, Scorpina's coming in hot - going in for the assist."

"I got you covered," Kimberly said over the comms.

Jason maintained a focused silence, his eyes locked onto Scorpina. The battle continued with a fierce exchange of blows, neither warrior giving an inch.

As the intensity of the fight reached new heights, Scorpina's attacks intensified, a ferocity emanating from her that surpassed the usual animosity between the Power Rangers and Rita's minions. Sensing the personal vendetta driving Scorpina's aggression, Zack charged forward with his Power Axe, trying to get the surprise on her.

"You fool!" Scorpina's voice echoed with a mix of scorn and amusement. In a blur of movement, she deftly dodged Zack's charging strike, disarmed him with a calculated move that sent his Power Axe flying, and swiftly slashed him across the chest with her razor-sharp blade. The force of her attack left Zack reeling, and a brutal kick to his stomach sent him crashing to the ground.

"Zack!" Jason's anguished yell filled the air as he rushed to his fallen friend. However, his concern was immediately met by the relentless Scorpina, who turned her attention away from Zack to face the Red Ranger.

"No!" Kimberly's cry echoed through the battlefield as she unleashed a barrage of arrows towards Scorpina in an attempt to halt her advance. Scorpina, an agile blur, effortlessly dodged and deflected the incoming arrows with the deadly grace of her blade.

"Stupid girl!" Scorpina's scornful retort cut through the chaos. With a menacing charge, she infused her blade with energy, hurling it toward Kimberly like a lethal boomerang. Kimberly, determined to defend herself, readied her bow to intercept the attack. However, Scorpina's cunning strategy unfolded as the boomerang-blade returned, striking Kimberly from an unexpected angle. The impact triggered an explosion of energy, sending Kimberly tumbling from her vantage point to the ground below.

"No!" Jason's anguish deepened as he witnessed Kimberly's fall. Swinging his sword, he lunged at Scorpina. However, Scorpina, seemingly anticipating every move, dodged his attack effortlessly. In a swift countermove, she reappeared before him, blade back in hand, delivering a powerful kick that sent the Red Ranger staggering backward.

"You can't escape your destiny, Red Ranger. You can't escape me!" Scorpina hissed, her blade slicing through the air with a deadly precision. The intensity of her gaze revealed a dark satisfaction, as if she had been anticipating this moment for far too long.

Despite the odds, Jason remained composed, countering Scorpina's strikes with calculated precision. The battle reached a crescendo, the outcome hanging in the balance. The Putties circled, their eerie presence adding an additional layer of threat to the already intense showdown.

Zack was down. Kimberly was down. But he still remained, which meant there was hope. In a momentary pause, Jason locked eyes with Scorpina. "This won't end the way you think," he declared with determination.

Scorpina's laughter echoed, a sinister sound that reverberated through the battlefield. "Oh, Red Ranger, you have no idea what awaits you. Rita's plans are far grander than you can comprehend."

With those ominous words, Scorpina unleashed a relentless barrage of attacks, pushing Jason to his limits. The outcome of the battle remained uncertain, the clash between Red Ranger and Scorpina intensifying with each passing moment. The fate of Angel Grove hung in the balance as the Power Rangers faced their most formidable adversary yet.
