Nighttime for Deep Talking of Goals

Both Team RWBY and Team DDJM kept on fighting the Grimms throughout almost every corner of the ruined city, but no one has been able to find anything that looks out of the ordinary nor any clues for the bad guy's hideout.

"I can't believe we didn't find anything..." Yang groaned as she walked in.

"Then I guess I don't need to ask you about how your search was." Dante said walking up to his girlfriend.

"It feels like we've only been lucky until now." Daidouji commented as every sat around the fire.

"We've always been fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time. I guess we can't always have luck on our side." Blake said.

"I don't really believe in all that luck stuff, but with how the search is going, I might as well ask for some right now." Jotaro said as he took out his food.

"That's not what I meant." Weiss said out loud when she walks up to the group.

"Meant what?" Makoto asked curiously.

"Oobleck asked me about why I chose to become a Huntress. I told him it was about... upholding the legacy. There's more to it than that." Weiss answered but look unsure of herself.

"Yeah... No, me too. I mean... I don't know." Yang confused at herself as she leans her head onto Dante's shoulder.

"I don't know, either. I know what I want to do, but I figured I'd always take things one step at a time." Blake explained, but now she is feeling unsure right now.

"But you guys know why you're here now, right?" Makoto asked.

However, none of the three RWBY have answer as they just went silence as they are unsure of how to answer the question, unsure of themselves about what they really want to do as Huntresses.

"Wow, sounds like Oobleck dropped a bomb on all three of you at once." Dante commented.

"You know, Robin has been asking us questions about why we chose to become Huntsmen and Huntresses." Dante mentioned.

"How did you answer her?" Yang asked.

"By just being honest with her, I told her what I felt my life before coming to Beacon and I knew this is where I want to be." Dante answered.

"Sounds like you guys already settle your thoughts." Blake surprised.

"Probably more than you guys, but I think you guys may already know the answers to your own questions." Makoto smiled.

Just then, Robin comes in with Oobleck and Ruby along with Zwei.

"Ah, wonderful; a textbook campfire!" Oobleck said.

"Fire! So… warm…" Ruby sat over at the fire and can feel the warmth already taking her over.

"Alright everyone, better eat your dinner before heading off to bed." Robin ordered.

"Yes, yes, we have a lot of ground to cover tomorrow, and we'll need you to take turns keeping watch over our temporary abode. Any volunteers for first watch?" Oobleck asked.

"Yo." Ruby raised a hand, volunteering to take the first watch of the night.

"I'll also be doing first watch with Ruby, should be more helpful with some more eyes." Robin decided to be on watch with Ruby.

"Excellent!" Oobleck said before rushing over to his spot.

"Ruby, has Oobleck ask you about why you wanted to become a Huntress like with your team?" Robin asked.

"Hmm... No, he didn't. Weird." Ruby answered, feeling a bit out of her team for not being asked.

"Well then, I hope you don't mind if I ask you that question and I would like to hear your answer as well." Robin interested in this little red rose.

"Sure, I don't mind." Ruby nodded as they got started on their first watch and Zwei comes up to them for support.

(Beacon Academy, with Ironwood)

James Ironwood is seen standing at the edge of the landing dock looking over the city of Vale in the dark night, having some deep thoughts about the whole thing knowing the situation and wondering if this is really the right move.

"Trouble sleeping?" Glynda asked, walking up to the general of Atlas.

"Arm was acting up." Ironwood acted as he rubs his left arm.

"Of course, so logically, you got out of bed, dressed yourself completely and decided to gaze menacingly out into the distance." Glynda described of what James is doing right now.

"What's wrong?" Glynda asked, concern for the man.

"I've trusted him for years. We both have. I just... I can't help but feel like he's keeping us in the dark." Ironwood confessed of how he feels right now with the group he is in.

"Don't be ridiculous! You know very well that we are not the ones in the dark." Glynda pointed out, which only made him laugh humorously.

"That makes it worse! I refuse to believe that a man that I've trusted for so long would act so... passively." Ironwood said, looking a little bit sad.

"Then maybe you should try getting off your high horse and start seeing things from his point of view because the man has gone through a lot of shit more than any of us." Garp said, walking up to the two youngsters.

"Mr. Monkey?" Glynda surprised to see the old soldier here.

"Just call me Garp like I told you." Garp insisted before turning his head to Ironwood.

"You know, James. You remind me a lot of your father, always trying to do what he thinks is right and thinking of others too. But you both also posses the same problem with thinking too much and moving forward too much without considering some alternative way." Garp stated.

"They say I get my stubbornness from him." Ironwood commented with a smile.

"Yeah, you have, almost like you never turn off your damn Semblance." Garp complained.

"I believe there was a point to this conversation." Glynda said.

"Huh? Oh yeah, I almost forgot." Garp realized the talk they were having just now.

"Anyway, what I'm getting at here is that you need to start showing some trust to the old man otherwise I'll have to start retraining you with my Fist of Love!" Garp warned as he holds up his fist.

"No, no, I certainly do not want to go through that again." Ironwood chuckled.

"Just remember this one thing, James. Ozpin has experience that the rest of us lack. And I think that's something worth remembering." Glynda said as they all look over to the city.

(With Team RWBY and Team DDJM)

Everyone else has fallen asleep with Ruby and Robin on their first watch job until later for another to come and take their place, but one certain blondie didn't feel sleepy as she should with her mind still bothered by earlier.

"Dante, Blake, you two awake?" Yang asked.

"Figures you would still up." Dante smiled with one eye open.

"I'm still up." Blake responded.

"Why do you think he asked us about being a Huntress? Like, what was he trying to say?" Yang asked.

"Maybe he was just curious." Blake guessed.

"Nah, more like he wanted you guys to be more honest with not just him, but with yourselves as well." Dante believed, knowing these things from his dad and his adopted dad.

"You think so?" Blake wondered about that.

"Weiss, are you awake?" Yang asked.

"Of course, I'm awake! You two are talking." Weiss proclaimed, though she was already awake just a minute ago.

"Same with me." Jotaro revealed himself to be awake too.

"Let as well get this out of your chest while you still can, otherwise you're probably going to be wincing bitches for weeks." Daidouji stated.

"That sounds harsh, you know that?" Makoto asked.

"I think he... When I said I wanted to honor my family's name, I meant it. But it's not what you think. I'm not stupid. I'm fully aware of what my father has done with the Schnee Dust Company. Since he took control, our business has operated in a... moral gray area." Weiss said.

"That's putting it lightly." Blake commented.

"But she never like how her father tries to run the company, not like how her grandfather wanted." Jotaro stated.

"That's right. Which is why I feel the need to make things right. If I had taken a job in Atlas, it wouldn't have changed anything. My father was not the start of our name, and I refuse to let him be the end of it." Weiss determined to right the wrongs done by her father.

"You can always have me and my friends in Atlas to back you up!" Makoto supported.

"Thank you, Makoto." Weiss smiled.

And then, it was Blake's turn to speak about herself and the things that troubles her.

"All my life, I fought for what I thought was right. I had a partner named Adam. More of a mentor, actually. He always assured me that what we were doing would make the world a better place. But of course, his idea of a perfect future turned out to be not perfect for everyone." Blake remembered her former partner; this saddens her upon those memories.

"I joined the Academy because I knew that Huntsmen and Huntresses were regarded as the most noble warriors in the world. Always fighting for good. But I never really thought past that. When I leave the Academy, what will I - how can I undo so many years of hate?" Blake asked as felt like a fool for not seeing that.

"I'm sure you'd figure it out. You're not one to back down from a challenge, Blake." Yang believed.

"Yeah, it's not like you're a scaredy cat." Dante nodded.

"But I am! I do it all the time! When you learned I was a Faunus, I didn't know what to do, so I ran! When I realized my oldest partner had become a monster, I ran! Even my Semblance! I was born with the ability to leave behind a shadow of myself; an empty copy that takes the hit while I run away!" Blake said, feeling ashamed of herself.

"At least you're admitting your fears and mistakes, that's the next step to better yourself for the future ahead." Daidouji said.

"At least you guys have something that drives you." Yang said.

"That's right, you always been the type of girl who just goes with the flow and wants to go on lots of adventures. That's just who you are." Daidouji remembered how Yang is knowing her the longest than the others.

"Yeah, but I sometimes wonder how long I can really last on that." Yang said looking sad.

"I wanna be a Huntress, not really because I want to be a hero, but because I want the adventure. I want a life where I won't know what tomorrow will bring. And that'll be a good thing. Being a Huntress just happens to line up with that." Yang explained and looked over to Ruby.

"I'm not like Ruby, she's always wanted to be a Huntress. It's like she said, ever since she was a kid, she'd dreamt about being the heroes in the books. Helping people and saving the day, and never asking for anything else in return. Even when she couldn't fight, she knew that's what she wanted to do. That's why she trained so hard to get where she is today." Yang explained how Ruby's reason of becoming a Huntress.

"Sometimes I worry that she is too good at the heart for her own good, but I also know that Ruby has the biggest heart who will know what to do." Daidouji believed strongly in her adopted little sister.

"You know she's just a kid, right?" Weiss asked.

"Speak for yourself." Jotaro chuckled with a grin.

"She's only two years younger. We're all kids." Blake gestured to herself and the rest.

"Maybe not right now since we're inside what used to be a great city, arms to the teeth with Grimms, and possibly lots of bad guys hiding out waiting to kill us." Dante pointed out.

"And we chose to be here because it's the kind of life we made of our own free will." Makoto believed with her fists connected to each other.

"Not only that, but it's a job. We all had this romanticized vision of being a Huntress in our heads! But at the end of the day, it's a job to protect the people! And whatever we want, will have to come second." Weiss stated.

"You got that right." Jotaro nodded.

"Right then, time we really get back to sleep until one of us take the next watch duty!" Dante smirked before kissing Yang on the lips and pulled her down with him on the sleeping bag as she laughs a little.

"Get a room, you two." Jotaro and Daidouji said at the same time, this shocked them both looking at each other blushing.

Unknown to them, Oobleck has been listening to their entire conversation pretending to be asleep and smiling proudly to know that these young warriors are going to do just fine as Hunters. Robin has also been listening into their conversation with one ear close to a stone and made that ear vanish in petals knowing that she got what she wanted to hear from them.

Later in the night, Ruby switch with Yang though Robin stayed on lookout duty because she can stay up longer in the night and not wanting the "kids" to feel alone at night for the tease.

Soon, Zwei woke up and stand up which causes Ruby to wake up too.

"Zwei, it's late. Go back to bed." Ruby said softly.

However, Zwei did not listen as he rushes out of the old house and Ruby quickly tries to follow him out in fear that a Grimm might be nearby, and he could get hurt.

"Zwei! Zwei, where are you? Zwei! Huh?" Ruby called out until she spotted the dog peeing at a random spot in the ruin city.

"Zwei, this is a wasteland! You literally could have done that anywhere!" Ruby sighed as Zwei comes back to her with a bark.

"What was that?" A man's voice asked.

Ruby heard that in shock and quickly hide herself and the dog behind some giant rocks, she peaks out carefully to see two White Fang soldiers walking by.

"What was what?" White Fang Soldier 2 asked.

"I thought I heard a Beowolf or something." White Fang Soldier 1 confused as he looks around but couldn't find anything.

"Hmph. Let's just finish our patrol and get back to base. This place gives me the creeps." White Fang Soldier 2 said.

Ruby was about to follow them, but then felt a slight tap on the shoulder that causes her to jump and turn around to see Dante is standing very close to her.

"Sorry, just wanted to check if you're going to follow them because I'm coming too." Dante said.

"Cool." Ruby nodded.

Ruby and Dante along with Zwei follow the White Fang soldiers walking through the old ruin of the city until those soldiers stop in front of an old building and heard metal doors opening, Ruby gently pushes Zwei to watch them go in.

"Did they go in yet? One bark means yes." Ruby asked.

Then they heard the metal doors close from the echo sounds and Zwei bark once.

"Nice, we found the bad guys' hideout which means it'll be butt kicking time once we inform the others about this." Dante smirked.

The three were about to head back, but then the ground beneath them started to sink down which worries Ruby as she quickly grabs Zwei and threw him away before the ground crumbled onto a big hole that she and Dante fell in while Zwei whimper in worry.

Dante quickly grab Ruby and flip himself with the feet facing down and concentrating most of his aura energy into them, and he lands on the ground causing cracks to form around them.

"That was close." Ruby sighed in relief.

"Freeze!" The two White Fang soldiers from before pointed their guns at the two intruders. Ruby spoke too soon.

However, Dante didn't hesitate as he let go of Ruby and pulls out his guns firing a bullet each to knock the guns away from the White Fang soldiers before they could react, he then charges in knocking them both out with one hit each.

"Hmm, I think just got an idea." Dante smirked as he reaches down his hand for a White Fang mask.
