Phantom vs Aliens: Hot Ectoplasma!

Chapter 39: New Strategies II

A week had flown by and things between Danny and Mandie have been well.

Since their last outing at the mall, they have been calling each other, sending emails and messages to each other almost every day now and the ghost boy had found that he had been developing a closer friendship with the alien princess. Anyway, it was free period right now and Danny was once again exchanging text messages with the alien princess, who was taking advantage of the free time he had and enjoyed this.

"Are you serious?..."Danny texted, looking amused.

"Yes, that fool Brutis tried bothering me again, trying to tell me to give up on you and to accept his proposal. I simply responded by giving him a black eye and a couple of broken ribs again..."Mandie answered.

"Sheesh, and I thought Dash could be pushy when it comes to girls..."Danny texted.

"Pushy? I wish. He's just an idiot and a weakling who is not worthy to be king, much less my mate...What the other girls of Boudacia see in him, I'll never understand but I do wish he'd marry one of them and leave me alone..."Mandie complained.

"Anything I can do to help?..."Danny asked, since he didn't like Brutis either and knew he could be a pain.

"Well, you could just marry me already and then he'd have no choice but to give up on me..."Mandie texted.

"Mandie...be serious..."Danny texted.

"It was worth a shot..."Mandie texted. "Aside from that, don't worry. Brutis may be annoying but he's not threat to me..."She texted. "He's only slightly more threatening than that blonde oaf on your planet...except I can get away with breaking his bones and bruising his internal organs if he gets on my nerves..."She texted.

"I guess..."Danny texted.

"So, anything new happen on Earth since my last visit?..."Mandie texted.

"Not much, had school, a test that I only barely managed to pass and the near daily ghost fights that I have long gotten used to..."Danny wrote.

"I see...whom did you fight? In your most recent battle?..."Mandie asked, intrigued.

"Oh, it was a guy named Technus. I'm not sure you have seen him yet but his whole shtick is that he wants to control all the technology around to take over the world..."Danny explained.

"An enemy that can control any technology he gets his hands on, that could be troublesome..."Mandie texted, making mental calculations to prepare herself in case she crosses paths with such a fiend.

"Troublesome is ONE word to describe him..."Danny texted. "When we fought, he tried to steal more technology in town, including some fancy new drones that they were trying to sell into making a giant robot armor and he went on a rampage..."He explained.

"I see...now tell me...how did you handle him?..."Mandie asked, really interested in that.

"Simple, I found him, went ghost, we exchanged witty banter, I kicked his butt, sucked him inside the thermos and still had time to finish my homework before curfew..."Danny wrote, like it was nothing.

Mandie read this and saw how casual he was being about the whole, thing, like fighting a giant robotic friend is nothing to him and it fascinated her to no end.

"He's so cool~..."She thought, before she decided to be a little more playful with him.

"Oh come on, you need to give me more details than that..."Mandie insisted.

"What do you mean?..."Danny asked.

"Describe how big your enemy was...and what kind of weapons he tried to use..."Mandie asked.

"Well, Technus's suit was pretty bit...I guess 20 or 30 feet around that area, I'm not that good at math..."He explained. "As for the weapons, he tried to fire lasers and electrical blasts but I managed to completely ICE him, thanks to my ice powers and sucked him in the thermos before he could get away...while he was in the middle of shouting out his plans to escape..."He added.

Mandie grinned at what she heard.

"There never seems to be a dull moment with you, Darling..."Mandie texted.

"I guess that's one way to look at it..."The ghost boy texted, not annoyed at all.

"Maybe the next time I visit...maybe I can assist you in dueling your ghostly foes...like I helped you face that fool Plasmius that one time..."Mandie suggested.

Danny thought about it and shrugged.

"Maybe, we'll see what happens..."He wrote before he could hear the not-so faint sounds of the warning bell. "Anyway, I gotta go now Mandie, class is gonna start soon. I'll text ya again later..."He added.

"Okay, I'll be waiting Danny. Bye Bye..."Was the last thing Mandie texted, before their chat ended.

The ghost boy then got up and knew that he had to get ready fast, to avoid a tardy.

"I better not forget my textbook..."He thought as he went to his locker to get that book and some other items for his next class.

However, as he retrieved the item, Danny saw the look on Sam's face and sighed. Things have still been uneasy with her since their argument last week and she still refused to accept that Mandie can be redeemed.

"I know she has her reasons to be suspicious but come on. It's not like it's the first time an enemy of ours became good..."He thought, recalling about Queen Dora, his enemy turned friend.

He sighed.

He knew that Sam is just being stubborn and overprotective but she might be crossing a line. He's not a child and he knew how to take care of himself. He also knew that he could handle Mandie just fine, so she could cool it with her "over-protectiveness".

"I just hope she calms down soon..."He thought.

The ghost boy sighed as the bell rang, signalling the start of class.

He left to avoid being tardy, his mind still on the beautiful and fierce alien princess he has become friends with, and his stubborn female friend who still believes that she's up to no good.

"I'm pretty sure I'm the only guy who's gong through this kind of situation..."He thought, annoyed with how strange his life is becoming before heading to class.

Meanwhile

With Mandie

The alien princess had just ended the chat she had with her beloved and felt elated.

"These little moments we share have become my favorite part of the day..."She thought, feeling as giddy as a school girl.

However, it had to end now since she was in the middle of something.

She was in her room now. The door was locked and any way to spy into her room was taken care of as she was still trying to come up with ways to win his heart and marry him as quickly as possible.

Mandie was standing in front of a holographic display of Amity Park, looking over it, much like a general coming up with war plans. She's familiar with that but right now, she's not trying to conquer an enemy world.

No, she's trying to conquer the heart of the only man who's worthy of her: Danny.

Now, in the privacy in her room, she stood before the tools needed to plan her strategies and figure out the most effective way to advance her relationship with the ghost boy.

"Now, the long term route of starting off as friends with him has proven to be successful so far...now, how to move things forward in order to advance our relationship?..."Mandie asked out loud, contemplating everything while Fufu just sat there, licking her fur while her master kept planning.

Mandie tried to think up strategies to win her beloved's heart and hand in marriage, or at the very least, get him to be more open to the idea to officially date her, rather than just "hanging out" with her.

She came up with a few ideas already, only to reject them since they were either unrealistic or would not have the results she wanted. Still, she wasn't giving up.

"I know, I'll send him a box, but I'll have that box in another box, that will be in another and again. When he gets to the final box, I'll have snuck up behind him with the passion inducing plant known as the Jupiter tulips, spray him with it's pollen. Then all I have to do is be the first person he sees and he will be mine…"Mandie considered, but blinked as she realized something.

"But we don't have any Jupiter tulips here and any other would likely be in the previous universe. I'm not even sure there is any plant life on the Jupiter of this universe…"Mandie groaned before slapping her face. "Not to mention, even if I did have one, those effects never last long and he'll probably just get angry at me and think I'm being forceful again, then all my progress will be undone..."She thought, knowing that plan will just make Danny doubt her again.

So, that one is out.

The princess, however, did not give up and kept trying to come up with ideas to go from friends to more than friends with the ghost boy.

"Okay, new plan: I'll infiltrate the school and find Danny's schedule for work and ghosts, intervening at prime times to attack any ghosts that comes near him. With them out of the picture, he'll be so grateful and impressed by my skills and how reliable I am that he'll ask me out and we'll get married—no that won't work! Endless battles or not, even they could distract me from winning his heart!…"She muttered. "And while he may appreciate the help in protecting his town, there is no way that I can do that sort of thing every single day without mother, father or someone noticing such periodic absences..."She muttered.

Mandie groaned louder as Fufu walked up to her master. The cute alien pet nuzzled to her and Mandie's expression softened a bit.

"That's alright. I have a better plan: I'll use the earth's sense of fashion to lure the boy into my grasp as he becomes more enamored with my beauty. Soon, he'll give me the key to his heart, unable to be away from such a beautiful warrior!..."She said, before pausing. "No, if it was that easy to win his heart, I would have already married him by now, with or without earth clothes..."She muttered, growing more and more frustrated.

She tried to brainstorm one more time and soon came up with another crazy idea to win over the spectacular ghost boy who stole her heart.

"That's it! Using the Boudician satellite array, I'll hack into the earth network, and locate even more bad guys for my beloved to fight. As he grows tired form the added enemies, I'll swoop in, declare myself and win the day as I reveal our identities and engagement!..."Mandie declared dramatically, looking like a general about to win a war.

However, after a few moments after saying that, the alien princess snapped out of her "general mode" and sighed.

"Or...he'll just think I'm being too pushy again and I'll be right back to square one..."She muttered, realizing that none of these over the top gestures will have the effects she wants in reality.

She and Danny have only known each other for a few months, but she knew that he's not the type to go for this kind of bait. Doing these sort of things will just have the opposite affect and only have a slim chance of success, if any at all. As much as she wanted to progress their relationship as soon as possible, the alien princess decided to just give for the time being and settle for what she knew is working.

"I better just stick with the long term route for now. As the earth saying goes: if it's not broke, don't fix it..."She thought, sighing.

She walked passed her closet and saw something there that caught her eye. The blue dress that she bought thanks to Danny, one that she has plans for in the future but right next to it was another special dress.

The wedding dress that she had owned since her failed wedding to Mark, one that she had been looking forward to wearing again since she had fallen in love with the ghostly warrior of Earth.

One that she still hopes to wear one day, for a wedding with the only man that is worthy of her. Mandie grabbed the dress and held it in her arms in front of a mirror. The last time she wore a wedding dress, she did it to force Mark into marrying her and making her queen of his planet and that plan failed. This time, however, she wants to wear it just so she can be with the only man that she has ever truly loved.

Yes, she still believes what she feels for Danny is love and she still wishes to marry him one day.

She just wondered how long until that day comes.

Mandie envisioned herself wearing this dress and having the perfect wedding she always wanted, with Danny as her groom as they stood in front of the grand priest who bound them together as husband and wife, and as the future king and queen of Boudacia.

"One day..."She thought with longing and desire.

She wanted that, more than anything. Maybe even more than she wanted Mark's planet and army to conquer earth in her old universe. It was an odd thing if her fellow Boudacians heard of such a thing but Mandie didn't care.

She just wanted to get married and to a husband that she actually gives a darn about, that husband just has to be Danny.

There will never be anyone else, she just knew it.

Mandie sighed as she put the dress away, knowing that it will be a while before she gets a chance to wear it...if any.

"No...don't think that. Danny and I are becoming closer. I know it. I can't give up. I just have to be patient and keep proving to him that I can be the nice, loving and trustworthy as he wants in his mate!..."She thought, determined.

The alien princess had fire in her eyes and her heart, making it absolutely clear that she has not nor will she give up on her goal at all.

Later

Mandie walked out of her room, with Fufu following her. She was calmer now but decided to take her frustration out the best way she knew how: training.

"Come along, Fufu. Time for afternoon training and sparring with the holo-droids..."Mandie said to her pet.

The two were about to leave the palace to do so, only to run into some people.

Mandie's parents...and Brutis.

"Daughter..."Maurus said.

"Your highness..."Brutis said, bowing dramatically to the irritated alien princess.

"Not again!..."Mandie thought with an eye-roll.

"Mother, father. What is it? I have training to do..."Mandie said, not even looking at Brutis.

"Darling, don't be rude. There is an important matter to discuss..."Milee said, while her daughter sighed.

"And this matter is?…"Mandie drew out her words as she glanced at Brutis.

"To challenge you for you hand…"Brutis stood up, pounding a hand into his chest with the other extended towards Mandie.

Mandie just frowned.

"I have training to do right now, I don't have time to be bothered with you, Brutis..."She said, rudely.

"Daughter, don't be rude!..."Her father scolded and Mandie rolled her eyes again.

"Whatever, like I said, I'm busy. If you're gonna bug me, do it some other time, Brutis..."Mandie said, making her annoyance clear.

Milee saw this and sighed.

"She really is her father's daughter..."She thought as her daughter walked away.

Brutis looked insulted while her father looked angry at what he deemed as insolent behavior.

"That girl!..."Maurus said, angry at her stubbornness.

"Now dear, she didn't reject his challenge, she just said to re-schedule it..."Milee said. "Plus, it really doesn't make any difference how soon she defeats him..."She commented.

"Excuse me?!..."Brutis said, insulted.

Milee sent him a cold look, locking the warrior in his place. Burris's family may have favors, but she was the queen, and no one would talk to her like that.

"Watch your tone, Brutis! You may be a mighty solider and general, but my daughter is our planet's strongest warrior. There is no argument about that..."The queen said, infuriating the general even more.

"I'll defeat her and prove to her that I am far superior than that fool she's wasting her time with..."Brutis said, furious as he marched away.

As he left, Maurus sent a glare to his wife.

"What was that? You just insulted our best chance at securing Boudacia's future and having strong grandchildren!..."Maurus yelled.

His wife rolled her eyes.

"Maurus, please. We both know that Mandie despises Brutis and she's much stronger than him...besides, she already has a suitor that she actually likes..."Milee reminded.

Maurus frowned.

"Whom we have yet to meet and know nothing about, which could be an even greater gamble..."He yelled, making it clear that he still thinks Brutis is the better candidate.

His wife just sighed and sent him a patient look ,holding the sides of his head and sent him a serene look to calm him down.

"Our daughter is also still young, despite her accomplishments. We need to give her time or nothing may come of it..."Milee said before giving her husband a scratch under the chin.

It always helped to make the man more agreeable, even if he didn't show it. As much as Maurus did not want to admit that he enjoyed this, he found himself calming down a bit. He then saw the expression on his wife's face and conceded.

"Fine but I want to see progress, at the very least..."Maurus grumbled as he marched away, wanting to take his anger out and vent during a training session of his own.

His wife rolled her eyes at this predictable reaction and sighed.

"I know you are wanting more, but Brutis lacks more than you realize..."She muttered before she left to go back to her royal, queenly duties and...other activities as well.

"I'm just glad that our scientists managed to intercept and retrieve television signals from earth. I can't wait to see the rest of that earth program "All My Parents Offspring", so much deception, drama and even violence. It's a good laugh and it's quite, as they say on earth, groovy..."Milee thought, smiling to herself with a little jig.

Later

With Mandie

The alien princess was in the middle of her training. The room projected holographic warriors, each armed differently as they attacked.

"What I wouldn't give for a real challenge..."She said, panting and sweating, relishing her victories, yet wanting more to a fight.

The girl was fully focused when a spear blocked a blade in front of her, much to her frustration. The owner was obvious as only one idiot would endanger himself like that.

Mandie frowned when she saw who it was that interrupted her training.

"Brutis, you better have a reason other than you want your entire body broken…"She glared, not looking at the general.

"Don't I always?…"Brutis stared as he received no answer. His smile dropped as he walked in front of Mandie. "We need to talk…"He said.

"And I have nothing to say…"Mandie put her flaming blade near the general's throat. "Now leave…"She demanded.

"Foolish girl, don't you see I am trying to help you—..."He was cut off by the enraged princess.

"The only thing you wish to help is yourself!…"Mandie's hair flair with rage as she glared.

"And by doing so, I help all of Boudacia…"Brutis smiled. "Don't you want that?…"He said arrogantly.

A knee to the stomach and the warrior fell with great pain. He got up after a few minutes, seeing the princess resume her training.

"Never use Boudaca like that again!..."She said but Brutis was relentless.

"Princess Mandie, enough! Fight me, and let me prove to you that I am much more worthy of you than that earthling who doesn't value royalty!..."He demanded, readying his spear.

"I told you that I'm busy right now..."Mandie said but the idiot refused to budge.

The alien girl got really annoyed now. Since Mandie was too busy with testing her skills, she didn't want to waste a moment on this fool, so she decided for a different, yet violent, tactic.

"Fufu! Handle this weakling!…"Mandie commanded, pointing at Brutis.

Fufu saw Brutis and immediately began snarling and growling at him.

"Not you again!..."Brutis said, bringing his spear out while Mandie kept fighting the holograms.

Since she didn't want Fufu to use her special abilities since the training room is pretty banged up already, she settled for ordering her pet to fight fair, which still put Brutis at a disadvantage.

"Attack Pattern Glorback!..."She ordered.

Her pet's eyes glowed red and her fangs grew as Fufu began to snarl with wiggling teeth that moved like humming bird wings. While most would have their pet attack a limb or, more preferably, a tender area, Mandie had strategically trained Fufu to attack certain areas with specific terms.

In this case, it was behind Brutis, in between his shoulder blades, biting down as deep as possible, but not completely through the skin.

Brutis screamed as he tried reaching behind him, with Fufu barely out of reach. He ran around the training room before Mandie had enough and kicked his stomach, not bothering to take her eyes off the sparring dummy.

The kick and attacks from Fufu left Brutis out of wind, not that Mandie cared to notice. Instantly forgetting her attempted suitor, the girl calmed herself as he took a stance.

"I should lock the door, next time..."She muttered as she finished up, dispatching the holo-droids with ease.

Once she was done, she ordered Fufu to seize her attack, which the pet obeyed, returning to her cute form and coming back to it's master.

"Good Fufu..."Mandie praised while Brutis was left a mess, battered and bruised.

"T-This unacceptable..."He said as he limped away, no doubt to get to the medical area, or to be catered to by his fan girls.

"Idiot..."Mandie muttered before she decided to go wash up.

After she did, she and Fufu left to go on a leisurely stroll, around the gardens for some fresh air, all the while, Mandie thought about the only man that mattered to her and the only kiss he ever truly bestowed on her, even if it was just on the cheek.

"Oh Danny, what I wouldn't give to have a sparring match of our own~..."Mandie sighed with longing as she held her heart.

She had to see the ghost boy again, and plan another trip. This time, she'd make more progress than last time.

The girl giggled as she left the room, getting more and more excited as she began to plan her next visit.
