Phantom vs Aliens: Hot Ectoplasma!

Chapter 43: The First Date

Danny and Mandie soon left the woods together, both dressed up and prepared, both physically and mentally, for their date. Mandie was giddier than every, holding onto the ghost boy's arm the entire time.

"I take it there's no way of asking for you to let go?…"Danny asked, almost chuckling right now.

Surging with playful emotion, Mandie knew she had to let go, but didn't want to, so she pouted with doe eyes at the boy. Danny, who had no defense against such a face, conceded with a sigh.

"Okay, we can walk the rest of the way like this but please respect my other boundaries..."He said.

"Since this is really happening, I don't have an issue with that..."The princess said, smiling.

They walked the whole way to their date with Mandie nuzzling his arm, a blissful look on her face.

"I am on a date with the love of my life, holding onto his arms and he is NOT running away from me or resisting my advances. This is paradise..."She thought, overjoyed and enamored.

She wasn't the only one was enjoying their time, as a certain ghost boy had his own thoughts about this whole thing.

"I gotta admit…this is better than I thought. Seeing Mandie like this is pretty cute…"Danny thought, glancing at the girl.

They shared a smile before glancing away with blushes, more in sync than they thought or the ghost boy would admit to.

A few moments later

The unique teens were still walking and talking.

Mandie walked alongside Danny. She looked at her skin, once yellow. The first time she was like this, she had trouble recognizing herself. She had always prided herself in her beauty, but now she felt different. She has gotten used to this form, it made her feel like she belonged with Danny.

It was just like this...date.

As they kept walking and discussing their plans, a thought came to her.

"Are you sure you'd like this?..."Mandie asked. She looked around and saw the looks she got from nearby citizens. "I mean the view from my ship is far more presentable..."She said.

"Definitely..."Danny replied.

He had the girl by the hand, making sure she didn't get lost, separated, or in a fight. The last of those items would spell bad news for everyone. Mandie glanced at the hand holding, blushing a bit. She smiled, looking at the ghost boy. She didn't care where they were going.

"We're here..."Danny said.

Mandie saw that Danny had brought her to an Earth Cafe, one that already had quite a few humans inside.

"A restaurant?..."She asked and the boy nodded.

"Yeah, I heard of this place from my older sister. She says that it's really popular, especially for first dates..."Danny explained. "She says that this place is kinda famous for the many dates it seems to get..."He said.

"I see..."Mandie said as the boy let her inside.

Danny spoke to the maitre D for a moment and soon they were brought to a table. Once there, Mandie was examining the atmosphere and decor, liking it.

"So, this is what a fancy earth restaurant looks like?..."She commented.

"Yep...and thankfully in my budget..."He said, sighing in relief at the inside of his wallet.

"Well, at least we won't be kicked out due to limited funds..."Mandie said, glad to be here.

Soon, a waiter came and took their order. Mandie glanced at the menu and was unsure, but decided to order the same as Danny, a bowl of pasta and also some steak too. Soon enough, the food came and after discreetly scanning the meal, Mandie ate the food and felt relieved as it was better than she expected.

"This is superb! The meat is so tender and the pasty is so soft. It's glorious..."Mandie said, nearly moaning in delight upon eating it.

"I thought you'd like it..."Danny chuckled as he took a bite of his own dish.

The two teens kept eating and talking together, all the while, Mandie felt almost intoxicated by both the romantic atmosphere, the delicious food and most of all, of whom she was spending time with.

"I look forward to this being a constant in my life!..."She thought, enamored and excited as this date continued.

Later

After they finished eating their meal, Danny took Mandie to see a movie next. One that she was unfamiliar with.

"So...this is an earthly cinema?..."She said.

"Yeah, so there are two movies showing right now that is...well...within our age group? Crimson Chin vs Crash Nebula... don't recommend it, and Space Wars..."Danny said.

"Space wars?..."Mandie asked, sounding interested.

"I thought you'd be interested in that...so wanna see it?..."Danny asked as he explained the basics of the film.

Mandie thought about it for a moment before nodding.

"Sure, sounds like it could be interesting. Let's watch it..."She said.

"Sweet!..."Danny said as he went to purchase the tickets.

Inside the theater

Danny and Mandie soon went to the theater. Danny was carrying some popcorn and snacks and they soon arrived to their seats. Mandie sampled some of the popcorn and was soon grabbing the snack by the handful, obviously enjoying the earthly delicacy.

"Mmm...this is delicious. It is salty and crunchy with a bland taste only overpowered by seasoning, yet I cannot stop eating..."Mandie said, taking a handful more of it.

"Easy there, save some for the movie..."Danny said with a chuckle, putting the bucket out of the girl's reach.

"Sorry, it's addicting..."The alien princess said, having greatly enjoyed it.

"I've noticed..."He chuckled as Mandie tried to grab it from the ghost boy, but she found his laughing face an adorable distraction.

"Can I at least have some of that beverage?..."She asked.

"Alright..."Danny said as he handed her the soda.

Mandie smiled as she took a sip of the earthly soda, going back to sitting still as the lights dimmed.

"What's happening?..."She asked, alert.

"The movie is gonna start soon, see..."Danny said as he pointed to the screen.

Mandie calmed down and leaned back, even placing her soda in the cup holder after calming down. While she found the setting to be perfect for them, the twenty minutes of previews were annoying as she kept asking what they were about.

"What kid of movie is this? First various clips of terrapin mutations performing martial arts, then a young male in primary colors crawling walls, followed by an animated film involving an astronaut who resembles an action figure? Is this not confusing?..."The alien girl asked, scratching her head.

"It's a commercial for future movies, they're called trailers. Don't worry, these won't last too long..."He said while Mandie leaned back.

After that, there was a commercial for a famous soda and she raised a brow when it kept saying it's catchphrase and kept doing what she thought was ludicrous stunts before offering it to people.

"Uh...what is this?..."She asked.

"Another commercial, this is the mascot trying to show off how good the soda is..."Danny explained as the mascot suddenly started dancing as the music played.

Mandie raised a brow before shrugging her shoulders and continued watching this with her beloved.

The alien girl watched a few more of these commercials and the ghost boy explained more or less what they were about, and their intention to entice the viewer to watching.

The movie soon started and they saw that it was "Space Wars: Episode Twelve: The Endless Armada".

"The endless armada? And there are 12 installments of this franchise?..."She asked.

"It's a classic that goes back all the way to the seventies. It's had a few... ups and downs but a lot of people still like it. This is the newest installment after the original saga ending..."Danny said, only to be shushed by another movie patron.

Mandie didn't quite fully understand what her beloved was talking about, but he looked amused. So she just smiled, nodded her head and trust in his opinion about this whole thing. After a few moments, they began talking and watching the movie together. After the first 20 minutes into it, the ghost boy decided to check in on his date.

"So...what do you think so far about the movie?..."Danny asked, curious of her opinion of it so far.

"The characters are completely incompetent. Why it seems the Dread Star's reconstruction has cost the enemy massive resources, allowing the rebels to slowly gain ground as they begin taking back planets and territory. On Boudacia, such tactics are feeble as we ignore the destruction of a super weapon to vanquish our foes..."Mandie commented. "Their priorities are misplaced, a weapon with that much time isn't worth it. In actual scenarios such as this, we would simply abandon such weapons and fight with our fists, just like our ancestors would have..."She said, crossing her arms as she criticized the character in this sci-fi movie.

"I see...Wow…that's uh…wow..."Danny said, stunned for proper words.

Mandie pouted as instinctively leaned into Danny, smiling at him and chowing down on popcorn as the movie went on. If there was anything she would commend, it would be the laser sword duels. The girl squeezed Danny a bit as she recalled their previous fights.

"I can still remember that way he dodged my flame sword with such swift moments, almost like he had super heightened instincts..."She said, recalling one of their previous fights.

"This brings back memories..."She said, grinning.

"Me too..."The ghost boy said as they watched the rest of the film, managing to squeeze out of her grip, causing her to pout.

Thankfully, it didn't last long as they continued to enjoy the rest of the movie.

"You know, it's really weird how these space soldiers are supposed to be elite soldiers, can barely shoot anyone that's right in front of them..."The ghost boy said as they watched the rest of the film, while the alien girl kept sending him dreamy glances as they watched the film together.

Later

The movie soon ended and the unique teens walked out of the movie theater, still talking about the film.

"So, what did you think about Space Wars?..."Danny asked, curious as to what she thought about it after seeing the whole film.

"Well, the effects were decent but the setting was both unrealistic and rather fast paced..."Mandie said.

"What do you mean?..."Danny asked.

"Well, for one thing the methods of negotiation with a race that advanced is very unrealistic, as most would simply have attacked without mercy, much less hear their opponent out. Not to mention, a weapon of that size would take far too long to power and would require a bigger exhaust port than that..."Mandie said. "But it was kinda funny and entertaining as a parody. Plus, that whole "Believe in the Heart of the Mind" was both nonsensical and downright hilarious..."She chuckled, since she did find a good part of it amusing from her perspective.

"Uh, it's not really a comedy but I'm glad you liked it..."Danny said, not sure how to respond to that.

Mandie then decided to become flirtatious with him and leaned closer to the ghost boy, feeling that they were getting along better.

"So, my dashing hero. What shall we do next on this wonderful date?..."Mandie asked, fluttering her eyelashes at him.

Danny blushed and began to sweat a bit, gulping as he can't deny that her gaze to be very alluring.

"Uh, well...lemme think..."Danny said, trying to focus while the alien girl got ideas.

"Well, why not tell me more about your victories and conquests? Other foes you've conquered?..."Mandie asked, leaning in with stars in her eyes.

"Uh, why?..."Danny asked.

"Oh, so humble. I'm just asking out of curiosity. I enjoyed all the other stories you had told me and I want to hear more of your past victories that solidified your reputation as the most formidable fighter in the Ghost Zone..."The alien princess said, leaning forward. "Plus, you wouldn't mind telling a beautiful girl some of your battles, would you?..."Mandie said, fluttering her eye-lashes at him once more.

Danny soon found his weak-kneed reaction acting up and ended up agreeing to Mandie's request, much to her joy...all the while, he also discreetly making sure that his pants didn't fall down to his ankles from his powers reacting to this, like they had done around Paulina a long time ago.

Anyway, the ghost boy (after getting a grip), conceded as he began with one of his battles but not before looking for a more secluded area away from potential eavesdropping.

Later

Danny and Mandie were now in the park, sitting under a tree and away from most people as the ghost boy began to tell more of his past exploits to the alien girl.

"Are you serious?..."Mandie laughed, amused by something.

"Uh, yeah, turns out Spectra didn't count on being turned into a giant booger courtesy of my dad's nose..."Danny said as he told her of the time he faced Spectra in a hospital as she attempted to make herself beautiful and how he foiled her plans.

Mandie rubbed her chin in thought, fascinated with his past exploits.

"My, my...it seems your foes never learn do they..."She said.

"Yeah, well that depends on how you see things. I even have to learn something or try something new to stay ahead but there still is a ton of training needed..."Danny said.

Mandie realizes that, due to his age, Danny's power is clearly not at full power, which means he may get more powerful as he grows older... which only fascinates her even more.

"Well, I am not surprised...you are very powerful and the most formidable opponent I ever had..."Mandie commended, smiling at him.

The ghost boy blushed, basking in the girl's praise, as the alien girl leaned in a bit more with a wide smile. This snapped him out of it, though he still felt a little awkward here.

"Uh, Mandie, not that I don't mind talking about the times I kicked my enemies butts but isn't there anything else we can do?..."Danny said but the disguised alien then placed a hand on his cheek rubbing with her thumb.

"What's she doing?..."He thought, as the disguised girl apparently was getting a little TOO comfortable and close right now.

"Well, I guess we can do...other things beside telling stories..."Mandie said in a flirtatious way, getting some ideas.

"Oh man, she has that look in her eye again..."Danny thought.

The alien girl then puckered her lips and leaned forward, making the ghost boy's eyes widen.

"Whoa there, Princess. Back it up, too quick!..."Danny said, stopping her before she could.

Mandie saw this and frowned.

"What's wrong? I thought we were getting along quite well!..."She complained.

"Mandie, I admit I am having fun but it's too soon for kissing..."He said, being stern.

Mandie frowned but at the very least, let go, and went back to her original distance. Though she did not look too happy about it.

"Oh fine, I'll behave..."She muttered with her arms crossed, making it clear that she wanted a kiss.

Danny sighed and stared at the girl, rubbing the cheek she touched. He felt a bit warm.

"I should have expected this but at least she's not chaining me up and jumping me again..."He thought, at least glad that she now seems to understand the concept of no.

Still, he saw the look on her face and stood his ground, wanting to be clear about the boundaries between them.

"I'm sorry but I'm not gonna just let you do want you want, when you want to..."Danny said. "You gotta earn it..."He said.

Mandie sighed sadly.

"I guess I was being a little pushy again but I genuinely thought you were becoming more comfortable around me to do more than hang out..."She explained, looking less angry and more guilty.

"Mandie, I am becoming more comfortable around you but you can't rush these things. Earth has a way of doing these things and I'm not in a hurry to get a girlfriend..."Danny said, trying to get her to understand.

The alien princess looked over her shoulder at him, a serious look on her face.

"Well, if you don't mind my asking, when do you suppose we can reach the point where we can start kissing, or at least give me an estimate?..."She asked.

Danny blushed at her bold question and stared intensely, realizing he's in a situation he's REALLY unfamiliar with.

"A super hot girl is asking me when she can kiss me and I have to say no. Ironic..."He thought, sighing.

"I can't say that now...I'll let you know when I can kiss and stuff but until then, just remember our promise..."Danny said, holding a finger up.

"Fine, but just know this..."Mandie said as she held his face and sent him a loving look. "My feelings for you haven't changed at all and I am more patient than most give me credit for. I'm not giving up on you and that will always be true. Count on it..."She said with a sultry look on her face.

Danny felt his entire face go red and he gulped, scratching the side of his head.

"I-If you s-say so..."He stammered, sliding down his seat as the alien girl giggled at his reaction.

Now, it seems the two have no idea how to proceed in their date but Mandie was still confident about one thing.

"The fact that he didn't yell or blast me is still a sign of progress between us, and I know that he is attracted to me...at least in a physical sense..."She thought, still sending him dreamy looks that made him blush.

Before anything else could happen, Danny heard sirens and saw both police cars and fire trucks passing nearby and going down the street, which caught their attention.

"What's going on?..."Mandie asked, alert.

"Trouble..."Danny said, his eyes narrowing.
