Phantom vs Aliens: Hot Ectoplasma!
Chapter 50: The Courtship
A couple of days had passed since the fourth date and their encounter with Vlad. Danny was relieved and relaxed as his girlfriend lost interest in hunting him down for now.
Anyway, he and Mandie are out on another date. They were bowling right now and Mandie has grown to like the sport since Danny introduced it to her.
"SURRENDER! I mean...fore!..."Mandie said.
"Wrong game, Mandie..."Danny said.
"Uh, I mean...strike..."She said as she tossed the ball and managed to knock down all the pins.
"That's your third strike in a row..."Danny said, impressed.
"That's good, right?..."Mandie asked, still new to the game.
"Really good. It means you're winning..."He said. "Or in bowling terms, you're bowling a turkey..."He said.
Mandie smiled as she giggled.
"I'm glad you introduced me to this game, even if it has bizarre terms. It's ideal arm exercise for aim and hitting the most targets..."She said.
Danny laughed it off and soon he rolled the ball. He managed to get 8/10, which is okay but Mandie easily got another strike and some people were getting impressed that such a pretty girl who was dominating the game.
The ghost boy was both impressed and kinda jealous that she easily got her fourth strike in a row.
"I'm both impressed that your getting the hang of things and also kinda jealous that you just got a four badger already..."Danny commented and he got a strange look from her.
"That means getting four consecutive strikes in a row, which is a really good thing in this game..."He said, earning another smile from her.
"Well, I have been trained to aim and strike with precision since I was a pup, something I inherited from my father..."Mandie said, getting a weird face from Danny.
"You keep saying "pup", when you refer to kids..."He said, wondering why.
"My species evolved from a canine race that became more human-like. However, since my father is not Boudacian but also comes from a race that is very distantly related to us, just more on the canine side, that's why..."Mandie explained.
"And the antennas?..."He asked.
""Our people crossbred with a race of butterfly people eons ago, they're why we're so similar looking to humans..."She explained, like she was talking about something as common as the weather.
"Huh, I keep learning something new of your race each time we meet..."Danny commented, both fascinated and intrigued.
"Well, if you ever wish to learn more about Boudacia's culture or even visit my home, all you have to do is ask..."Mandie said in a perky way.
"Only if I visit and not marry yet..."He said as they continued their bowling date and Mandie continued getting strike after strikes.
Later
After bowling, Danny and Mandie were still on their date. They had gotten some snow cones. Just like with most Earth food, Mandie enjoyed it. Now, they are sitting on a park bench together and Mandie was trying to get romantic with him again.
"So, Darling...we are alone right now..."Mandie said, wanting to have some privacy with him for obvious reasons.
Danny blushed.
"Well...I guess we are..."He said, making her smile.
"Yes, we are. Let us enjoy it..."She said as she wrapped her arms around him.
"What do you have in mind?..."Danny asked, being coy.
"Hmmm...I don't know...You wouldn't happen know any actions of affections we could do to easily pass the time, would you?..."She said, hinting things.
Danny smirked.
"I might have a few ideas..."He said, sending her a flirty look.
"I'd love to hear them..."Mandie said, fluttering her eyes.
"Okay..."Danny said, inching his face closer to hers.
However, before they could kiss, Danny's ghost sense went off. Mandie saw this and nearly growled.
"Again?!..."She said, sounding mad.
Danny sighed.
"Looks like it, I'll try and end it soon..."He said, knowing that since their last date, she wanted some alone time without being interrupted.
"Whoever is responsible for this...is gonna feel my wrath!..."She thought, fists shaking a bit.
Since no one was around, Danny transformed and he was now in his ghost form. He quickly flew around to check and find who triggered his ghost sense.
"Now, who is it this time?..."He wondered, wanting to finish this fast and got back to his date.
However, he got his answer in 3...2...1...
"Hey Dipstick!..."Was heard.
Danny turned around and frowned when he saw who it was.
"Ember..."He grumbled, already annoyed.
The evil diva smirked.
"Miss me?..."She teased, holding onto her guitar.
"Like a head cold..."He said sarcastically, frowning harder at her.
However, before they could engage in their usual witty banter and butt kicking, Mandie was puzzled.
"Darling...who is this girl? And why does she call you "dipstick"?..."The disguised girl said, sounding slightly jealous.
Before Danny could answer, Ember noticed the purple haired girl and scoffed.
"So, this is her? I heard rumors that you hooked up with some purple haired girl who is out of your league...but from what I heard...I expected someone more...interesting..."Ember said, though her tone made it clear she didn't want to admit the other girl was pretty.
Mandie, however, took offense to this and snarled.
"Darling...I may have to use more than my words to deal with her!..."Mandie said, ready for battle.
Since there are no people around due to running away when Ember attacked, the alien princess turned off her fake-i-fier, revealing her real form. Ember's eyes widened when she saw this, whistling at the sight.
"I guess Johnny wasn't making things up..."She said as the alien girl snarled.
"If you mean that greasy haired idiot, then yes, he wasn't..."The alien girl said while the ghost diva raised an eyebrow. "Now, go haunt somewhere else, ghostly vixen!..."Mandie said as the evil ghost got a closer look at her.
"Who are you suppose to be, anyway?..."Ember asked, arms crossed.
"I am Princess Mandie of Boudacia..."Mandie said in a mighty voice, causing the diva to roll her eyes.
"Man-DIE?! Is that the name your mommy gave you?..." Ember asked sarcastically.
"Yes and my father. I was named after my great-great-grandmother who was victor of the ten year Boudacian civil war!..."Mandie said in a serious tone.
Both Danny and Ember blinked at this, and the fact that Mandie didn't even seem to register the sarcasm yet.
"I don't know what's worse, that my joke went over your head or that someone in existence thought "Man-die" was a creative choice of name..."Ember said, annoyed.
Mandie glared at that remark.
"Different universe... same unbelievable level of snark from everyone..."She thought, annoyed.
She decided to put that aside for now. The alien princess pulled out her flame sword and aimed at Ember's throat, glaring at her with all her might.
"State your reason for being here, and I hope for your sake it's not a fight!..."Mandie said, readying her sword.
Ember, however, couldn't help but look at the alien girl...or rather her appearance and couldn't help but compare it to her own.
It was obvious that Mandie was very attractive...by human standards...tall, statuesque and with notable...assets...that's what she'd call them. The evil diva couldn't help but frown in jealousy.
"Hmpt! She's not that hot..."The diva grumbled, arms crossed.
Mandie didn't seem to notice or care about this, she just wanted a fight.
"Leave and eat hot plasma!..."Sge said, aiming her sword.
"Mandie..."Danny spoke up, sending her a look.
"Okay... Leave OR eat hot plasma. Better?..."She asked.
"Getting there..."Danny said, chuckling.
Mandie smiled before sending a glare at Ember, who gave her a judgey look. She didn't take the alien princess's threat seriously, but took her look serious.
"Why are you staring at her like that?..." Danny asked.
She gave a dismissive smile.
"Huh? I didn't think this is the kind of girl you were into Baby-Pop...even I think she's too hot for you..."Ember said, rolling her eyes.
Danny frowned, but Mandie noticed her choice in nicknames.
"Baby-bop...Why are you calling MY DARLING those things?..."Mandie asked, sounding angry and jealous.
"They're put downs, not cutesy nicknames..."Ember said, being quick.
Still, Mandie sent her a frown, still feeling confrontational.
"I do not believe you! For your sake, you better not be here to make your claim on my mate!..."She said as she held her sword tight in her hand.
Ember frowned and Danny recoiled at this.
"As if, that ship, if it ever docked, sailed a long time ago!..."Danny said, waving his hand.
Ember almost seemed offended to hear this. Danny saw this and rolled his eyes.
"Hey, you tried to kill me and take over the world countless times. And unlike Mandie here, you never changed..."Danny pointed out.
Ember heard this, saw his point, and shrugged. She tuned her guitar with a smirk, seemingly unaffected by the boy's words.
"You aren't seriously thinking of making a move on me, are you?..." He asked, looking unnerved right now.
Ember flinched at this but immediately sent him a glare.
"As if...but if I was, you can't blame a girl for trying. Besides, I've got more reasons to not change, and you'd like them..."She said before strumming away on her instrument.
"Oh, please. You're the kind of girl who'd never learn her lesson..."Mandie accused, but Ember rolled her eyes, almost insulted.
"If I wanted to stick my tongue in his mouth, I'd have done it already, especially since I can totally do that..."The diva said, pushing buttons.
Mandie snarled at that and her hair ignited as she drew her sword.
"You have fiery hair too? That's my thing!..."Ember said, annoyed.
"I do! And it looks far better on me!..." Mandie declared.
The ghostly diva snarled at this, already hating this alien girl for both her looks and her attitude...as well as another reason she refused to talk about or acknowledge. The ghostly diva decided to use it to fuel her desire to hurt her.
"I bet that I can outdo you in this heat like I can take a kiss from Baby Pop, if I feel like it..." Ember declared.
"I don't buy it! You'd never get the chance!..."Mandie shouted, getting territorial.
"Just to be clear, I have NO interest in kissing Ember!..."Danny shouted, looking angered.
"Not yet, anyway..." Ember whispered to herself.
"Speak up while you're fighting! Now face your doom!..."Mandie yelled as her hair blazed more and more.
Ember grinned, striking first as she fired multiple fists. Mandie dodged, enticing the rock star to get up close and personal.
"Fine, then maybe I should say it again even louder!..."Ember shouted as she brought her guitar onto the flaming blade.
The impact caused a shock wave that pushed Danny back.
"Talk about a shocking fight..."Danny muttered, blinking.
The two ladies with fiery hair and personalities clearly were going all out and wanted to see the other fell to their knees.
Neither were willing to give in.
"This one is clearly Darling's enemy...and she's a ghost...which means I don't have to hold back like with other females..."Mandie thought, smirking as she saw this as a good way to vent some aggression.
The alien princess then pointed her sword at the ghostly diva, sending her a glare.
"Prepare to be vanquished in the most painful way possible, haunted hussie!..."She declared.
Ember frowned.
"Take this, you Space Wars reject!..."She shouted as she used her guitar to fire a fist blast at the two.
Danny and Mandie managed to avoid it. The ghost boy retaliated with several ice blasts, providing cover for his girlfriend as she got in close.
"Go!..." He said and Mandie nodded, readying her weapon.
The ghost boy would've provided more support, but quickly realized how intense and focused the girl's attacks were on each other.
The sparks flew like the sun as the girls dueled fiercely.
"BACK AWAY FROM MY BOYFRIEND, YOU HORRID EXCUSE OF A FEMALE!..."Mandie shouted.
"BETTER IDEA, YOU GO BACK TO SPACE, PRINCESS GUY-DIE OR WHATEVER!..."Ember yelled back, glaring intensely in her eyes.
Once the gap was closed, the girl went at it again with their respective weapons, hitting them with such force they flew out of their hands. But this didn't pause the battle as the two glanced at each other and used their bare fists.
"Wow..."Danny commented from afar. "Ember really pushed Mandie's buttons..."He commented.
Danny saw Mandie and Ember fighting, and while he knew that he should help her, he couldn't help but stare at this.
He watched Mandie manage to land a punch on Ember and couldn't help but grin at this, finding it both exciting and provocative. The ghost boy started sweating a bit, unable to look away.
"Okay, that's kinda hot..."He thought as he watched Mandie land another punch to his enemy.
The two females were actually starting to fist fight right now. Due to the anti-ghost gloves she added to her battle armor, Mandie managed to keep up with Ember, even when she tried to go intangible.
"You're about to need more makeup to hide what I'm about to do!..."Mandie yelled, snarling and breathing heavily.
"Funny, I was gonna suggest the same, you royal pain!..."Ember shouted, trying to punch her too, but what sucker punched before that could happen.
Mandie sent a smug laugh after seeing her like this.
"Says the one who's now black and blue for two reasons now..."The alien quipped, amused by her enemy's current state.
Ember looked furious with ruined makeup, kneeing the warrior princess in the stomach as she brought a fist from under. But the attack was caught as Mandie gave a savage smile, twisting the diva around into the air before bringing her down onto the princess's knee.
"Nice try, but no. I'm the one who will be victorious here..."Mandie said before kneeing her in the face.
"Darn..." Ember went as she hit the ground.
While she was down, Danny pulled out the thermos and sucked the ghostly diva within in before she could recover and attack again.
"AHHH!..."Ember shouted upon being trapped.
"Got her..."He said before clasping the thermos shut.
He then turned to see Mandie, who was still fuming.
"And just when I was starting to break a sweat..."Mandie grumbled, upset that she couldn't take more out on that arrogant female.
Danny, however, just sent her an impressed look.
"Man, you were awesome..."He complimented, still impressed by how well the alien princess kicked butt.
Mandie smiled, but took little comfort from the compliment. She had a expression, which Danny noticed.
"Are you alright?..."He asked and Mandie sighed.
"I'm fine...just...irritated..."She grumbled.
"Why? We beat Ember. I thought you liked kicking butt..."Danny said.
"I do enjoy these battles and aiding you Darling as your partner...but..."Mandie paused, sighing.
"Mandie..."He asked as she looked to be truly upset.
"I just don't like all these interruptions..."She said.
"Interruptions?..."Danny asked as she took a deep breath and explained herself.
"On our last date, your friends, sister and that Blue freak interrupted us, and before that, that greasy fair buffoon also interrupted us. I wanna be with you Danny, but I don't like all these interruptions..."Mandie complained, arms crossed. "What I am saying, I would like some privacy..."She said.
"Look, I apologize about my friends and sister, but I can't exactly control my enemies...no matter how much I'd like to..."He said, annoyed.
"Even so, we keep getting interrupted and now that blue haired songstress got in the way out our date...and I feared I have competition..."Mandie complained, still looking suspicious of her intentions.
Her boyfriend knew what she implied and sighed, knowing he had to clear things up.
"I already told you, I have no interest in Ember. Even IF she has a thing for me, which I HIGHLY doubt, the fact she's tried to kill me makes it hard to make a "how I met your mother" story to my kids. Besides, I already got one hot but dangerous lady in my life..."Danny said, gesturing to Mandie.
Mandie smiled at that but still felt annoyed by Ember.
"Still, this is getting old. I'm still gonna be here for a few more hours before I have to go back to Boudacia. So, I'd like to enjoy the rest of our date without anyone interrupting us..."She said.
"And what do you suggest?..."Danny asked, wondering what she has in mind.
Mandie smiled as she got an idea, one that put a smile on her place. It's an idea that she's sure that they will both enjoy.
"Well, I do know of a place where we might get some privacy, at least for a couple of hours..."Mandie said, smiling.
"Where?..."Danny asked.
"My ship..."She suggested.
Hearing this, Danny's smile dropped, eyes widened upon hearing this.
"Her ship?..."He thought, nervous.
The last time he was in her ship, he wasn't exactly there out of his own free will and certain things happened that, at the time, he didn't exactly enjoy...completely.
"Mandie, I already told you about the boundaries..."He said.
"Come on, Darling. I promised that I won't try and take you to Boudacia without your approval, but I just want to enjoy some alone time with you without the possibility of your enemies or that goth girl intruding on us..."She said, almost whining at this point.
The princess kept trying to convince him.
"Come on, I'm just talking about an hour or two, alone to do what we both want and maybe cuddling and then kissing..."Mandie said, trying to sound as innocent yet sultry as possible.
Danny still seemed a little apprehensive about all of this.
"I dunno..."He said, still unsure.
Mandie, however, kept trying to convince him, trying to think up of a good enough reason for both of them to get in her ship for some one on one time with each other. She then recalled his fascination with space and got an idea.
"If you like, we could go on a ride in my ship, to any part of this galaxy you'd like..."Mandie said.
Danny was about to answer, only to pause once he processed what she said. Namely, riding the ship though space.
He then took this moment to rethink his opinions that were presented to him.
"On the one hand, she might be bluffing and I could possibly end us as property of a hot alien princess...but on the other hand, I'd get to ride through space...IN A REAL LIFE SPACE SHIP!..."Danny thought, trying to keep himself together and think rationally.
The NASA fanboy side of him was strong and really wanted to say yes to this, but he also knew that he had to be cautious here. Last time, he couldn't enjoy this time in space since he was trying to get away from Mandie. But now, she's his girlfriend and is offering to make one of his biggest childhood dreams come true.
He knew that he had to be cautious but at the same time, he was giving Mandie a chance and he is legitimately dating her. He wants to trust her and give her the benefit of the doubt.
What is the point of giving her a second chance, much less any chance, if he can't trust her to keep her word.
After a few minutes of mulling it over, the ghost boy finally answered her.
"Alright...I guess we can go for a ride in your ship...but only for a couple of hours. And that means no unexpected trips to other planets without my full consent first..."Danny said, trying to be stern but also trying to hide his excitement.
Mandie smiled upon hearing this.
"Wonderful..."She said, thankful to get the okay from her boyfriend.
Later
Danny and Mandie had gone to her space ship, and Mandie quickly put the coordinates in her ship and flew it outside earth's atmosphere.
Now, it was in the moon's orbit.
Yes, the unique couple was inside Mandie's ship and they were in space right now. Danny was looking out one of the windows in her ship in awe.
"Wow!..."He said, completely awestruck with what he's seeing right now.
Mandie giggled at this reaction.
"He's so cute..."She thought, finding this endearing.
She made the ship fly past the dark side of the moon, briefly seeing a few lights, which caught her boyfriend's attention.
"Huh... so they are aliens on the moon..." Danny reasoned.
"You needn't worry... I'll reach out to them later and warn them not to invade..." Mandie offered.
"Uh, thanks..."Danny said, still in awe over what he had just seen.
His girlfriend noticed this before speaking again.
"It's clear from the look on your face that this must be your first venture into the darkness of space, not counting the last time you were in my ship of course..."She said, giving a nervous smile as she remembered what she tried to do to him that time.
"Well, I had gone to space before then to stop an enemy from taking over an advance satellite but that was more about a fight for the earth than a venture..."Danny admitted.
"Oh! Tell me more..."Mandie said, seemingly gliding up to the boy.
"Later. Right now, I want a tour that doesn't have me bound in chains..."Danny said.
"As you wish..."Mandie said as she took him by the arm.
The unique couple soon went on the tour, and Mandie was overjoyed to have the ghost boy all to herself for the time being.
