Downtown Hurricane

Shopping District

It was getting dark outside, the city lights shining more. Gregory was walking around downtown Hurricane with Cassidy, doing more Christmas shopping.

Aside from getting ready for Christmas, the shopping trip had two other purposes, to get out and get some fresh air, and two get their mind off the upcoming rescue mission their family is going on while they are out.

There were in a clothing store, with Cassidy helping Gregory pick out a few different shirts Vanessa would probably like.

Cassidy also helped out Gregory find things Freddy and Roxanne might like to wear.

The two had spent a few hours already going around to different stores, going back to the parking garage in the middle of the city to keep putting more stuff in Cassidy's 2011 Civic Si.

6:00 PM

It was getting close to dinner time, normally on most days Gregory would be at home with Vanessa, and her making dinner for them both. But it looks like for tonight, they will be getting something around here.

Cassidy and Gregory had just got back to the garage in the middle of downtown and took the elevator to her level where she's parked, the 4th level.

The trunk was already loaded up pretty well, so they started putting purchases in the backseat, but Cassidy covered it with a blanket, so any would be thieves would not see the expensive items.

They got done and Gregory's stomach growled.

"Hey, why don't we go pick up some burritos from that new place down the street? Sound like a plan?" Cassidy asked.

"You read my mind. Haha." Gregory responded.

"Okay off to Tito's Burritos." Cassidy said locking up the car.

They took the elevator back down and walked towards the burrito stand down the street. It was crowded given it was a Saturday and the time of day, but worth the wait, the pair decided to take theirs to go. They would eat it back in the car then get ready to head back to the pizzaplex, since they weren't up for being stuck around large crowds tonight. But then Cassidy had an idea.

"Hey, the parking garage has a roof level, I could go park up there and we can eat up there and look at the city. It has a great view. Sound cool?" Cassidy asked.

"Yeah, I'm down!" Gregory said.

The robotic chicken woman and the teen headed back to the garage with their good in to-go boxes. They made it back to the car, Cassidy drove it to the top level, where they got out, ate and looked at the view of the city. After they got done eating, they admired the view of the city.

They stood near the edge of the roof leaning on the thick concrete barrier that was tall enough to prevent someone from accidently falling over but also short enough to rest one's arms on if tall enough.

"Are you worried about what the others are doing tonight?" Cassidy asked.

"I'm more than worried. I could lose more than just Roxanne, Freddy or Monty. I could lose Vanessa, Mangle or any of the others if this rescue mission doesn't go right. I should have been allowed to go with them. Their truly the only family I've had since my parents died. I…I can't lose them." Gregory said.

"You won't. Their strong Gregory and their bond with you is strong. I can see it. Just, believe." Cassidy said.

"I want to, believe me. But I've had so much terrible crap happen in my life, and I'm only 14, haha. I guess, I always expect something to go wrong, because I'm used to it always going wrong." Gregory said.

"Your talking to someone who was murdered by a psychopath at the age of eight, and then was brought back in a Fredbear suit. Oh yeah, and I inhabited a blob of old animatronics, sooo there's that whole thing. Yeah, I've been through some shit too Gregory, I get it. I really do. But life is not perfect, and you should not expect it to always be perfect, I mean none of us should. Bad things happen to everyone, it sucks, it's a part of life. But….just because bad things happen, does not mean you should expect it all the time ether, there's always a positive somewhere, it's just, sometimes, we have to look for it." Cassidy said.

"Your right Cassidy. Maybe I just need to believe. I still have them and now I have you too, I never got to know what it was like to have an older sister or a brother even. I was an only child. Outside of my parents and maybe the occasional friends from school, I was alone." Gregory said.

"Your not anymore." The chicken woman put an arm around him.

Gregory smiled at that.

"You finally have an older sister, and now I get to have a younger brother, I'd say it's a win for us both." She giggled.

"Haha, your right, sis." Gregory said.

"Being around the glamrocks, has reminded me about what I missed about my old family, when I was still just a little girl and well, human. Especially during the holidays like this, how my mom and I would decorate the house, while my dad worked long hours. Sure during the holiday's he sometimes would work a few extra hours, so I didn't get to see him as much but, by the time he came home, he was always blown away by the sight of that tree and all the work we did to it. He never let me forget how much he and mom loved me and he worked those extra hours to make sure there was always toys for me under that tree. I really missed that feeling. I'm glad Vanessa and Freddy gave me a second chance the night of the Pizzaplex incident. I am forever grateful." Cassidy said with her voice cracking slightly, as if she almost was going to cry.

"I know…Mangle and Foxy are a lot like parents to you, I've noticed it lately. Kind of funny, they're treating you a lot like how Foxy used to treat Roxanne. I don't think it's because they miss her, I think Foxy and Mangle genuinely are starting to see you like another daughter. I guess Foxy felt since you were missing a father figure, he would help fill the void." Gregory said.

Cassidy teared up slightly.

"Yeah and as annoying as it was to be punished like as if I was a young daughter to him, I'm glad he cares. I missed having parents. I will never forget my real mom and dad, but Foxy and Mangle make me feel like, I'm home again." Cassidy said smiling.

"Having Freddy as a dad, is a bit unconventional, since he is a robot. I was always under the impression, that robots are just robots. They had no feelings of their own or perception of reality, they just purely ran off code. The glamrocks proved me wrong, in more ways than one, Kellen and Heather really outdid themselves when they built their product line. The fact they have more rights like me, speaks volumes. I didn't think they could love or feel, or care about another being. And not because of some calculation or for some benefit but because they want to. They have grown to mean so much to me. When we saved the Pizzaplex and revealed the corruption in Fazbear Corporation, we really had an impact because now a new law was just passed that legally allows a sentient robot to become a guardian or parent of a human. So at some point, on paper he will be my dad, so I…really look forward to that. I know my real parents are gone, and I'll never forget them, but Freddy, Vanessa and Roxanne, make things feel, like they used to before I was on the streets. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome to what happened at the Pizzaplex. It was hell, but it was so worth it. You and I wouldn't be here right now if it wasn't for how things went down." Gregory said.

"No I wouldn't, I'd still be in that blob somewhere. And Vanessa probably wouldn't have made it had my rage not been tempered or had William not taken over the pile and removed me from it….Um anyway, I'm really glad I'm here, with you, and with the glamrocks. And I'm not going anywhere. That's a promise, little bro." She said winking at him.

Snow started to fall from the sky as it got darker.

"We should get home now. C'mon." Cassidy said. They got back in the car, and she started it up.

Suddenly her iPhone rang, it was Foxy.

"Hey Dad, what's up? I thought you were joining the others on the search and rescue." Cassidy said, confused.

"I would have but I let Mangle and the others take the lead. I need you both back here at the Pizzaplex, I have a plan, that involves you two and a couple friends of mine and Dawkin's." Foxy said.

"Okay? Well just tell me on the phone right now. What do you need Gregory and I for, if that mission is being handled already?" Cassidy asked.

"I'll fill you both in when your back, it's will say, classified. Whatever you do. Don't tell Vanessa, don't tell Mangle, tell any of the others, until you come back here and talk first." Foxy said.

"Um…okay Dad…will do, see you soon." Cassidy said hanging up.

"Um I'm a bit concerned about how that sounded. That didn't sound good, like, at all." Gregory said.

"Yeah I don't know what's going on. Guess we're about to find out. Ugh…." Cassidy said as she made her way out the parking garage, driving on to the busy Hurricane streets.
