Phantom vs Aliens: Hot Ectoplasma!
Chapter 59: Unexpected Confrontations
"We need to talk..."Sam said, looking distant with a sour face.
Danny blinked in confusion as he gave his friend his full attention, wondering what this is about.
Sure, he was partially glad to see his friend, but he knew this was no coincidence. Those words "we need to talk" sucked the joy out of the atmosphere like the vacuum of space. And it felt as dark.
The ghost boy stiffened his posture as he stared at his friend, now noticing her chilling, serious demeanor.
"Why do I get the feeling that this is gonna get ugly?…"Danny thought.
"What do you wanna talk about, Sam?…"He asked.
"Mandie…"Sam uttered the name like a curse, but no venom was present.
"What about my girlfriend?..."Danny asked, arms crossed.
If anything, she almost sounded neutral, which almost surprised the ghost boy. It was like she was masking her emotions, like she was hiding something. It also seemed like she was going to start up a pleasant conversation, and in this context, it was scary, even by ghost-fighting standards.
The ghost boy didn't really know how to react and would have started something if not for the next statement.
"That's what I want to talk to you about, Danny. Are you sure about this? Are you really sure that she's not manipulating you? Letting her decide for you? Like absolutely in control of your faculties, sure about your life that is at stake based on her intentions?..."She asked, while the ghost boy got more irritated with each passing moment.
"Oh, for the love of Clockwork! She's bringing THIS up again!..."He thought, pinching his nose at Sam's untrusting attitude towards his alien girlfriend.
He was disappointed that this was just another repeat of the same discussion as before.
He sighed, having enough of this malarky.
"No, Sam. Mandie has NOT brainwashed me or is mind controlling me! She hasn't done anything you might imagine her to...plus, she doesn't even have anything of the sort, since she'd need something like Freakshow's staff or Ember's guitar to mess with my head in the way you are implying..."He said, flailing his arms in teenage angsty exhaustion.
"That you know of..." The goth retorted, sounding angry as she recalled the past times her friend got manipulated.
"What do you mean "that I know of"?!..." Danny asked, getting ticked and feeling insulted too.
"You know exactly what I am talking about! She's an alien from space and none of us really know anything about her, other than the stuff she's told you! She has to have mind control technology somewhere!..."Sam tapped a finger on her open palm.
Her voice sounded like something was obvious, as she tried to point out her "facts".
"Not this again!..."Danny said, as he dragged his hand down his face.
"Unless you destroyed all of her weapons, you can not argue about this. She has to go…"Sam said, remaining stubborn.
Danny laughed dryly, now glaring at the goth girl.
"This is no joke!…"She said, looking sterner.
"I know, but guess what, I like Mandie. I really do, and mind control and hormones have nothing to do with it! Why can't you just let us be?!…"Danny shouted.
His eyes never let the goth girl out of his sight, not understanding why this seems to bother her to no end. He didn't want to fight with Sam like this.
She was one of his oldest friends, and she was someone who he trusted to have his back in a fight. She's really important to him, but lately she hasn't been act like a real friend should be from his perspective. She was pushing the subject too far.
It was only because of their past that he had to at least try and talk some reason into her. If not for his and Mandie's sake, then for his friend's sake instead.
But words rarely worked against the stubborn goth girl, especially when she's mad.
He'd do the same and has done the same for her hundreds of times over the years, but recently this felt different from the other times, and honestly, it was becoming obnoxious.
However, the goth girl was being pigheaded and stubborn right now, the worst combination as it made talking to her all the more frustrating for both parties involved.
"I still can't believe how clueless you can be about this..."Sam said, with a bit of annoyance in her voice as she refused to accept the decision her best friend made.
"Clueless?!..."Danny shouted, offended.
"Exactly! You're totally clueless if you actually believe that she's not a threat to you and the rest of our planet! How is this still not obvious to you!?..."Sam shouted back.
"Stop! Just stop! We've already gone over this before a million times already! Mandie's not gonna invade, I made sure of it. End of discussion!..."Danny said, growing more upset.
The goth girl then went silent for a moment. She almost cried, which also caught the ghost boy off guard.
"If you think that's the end of it, then something is definitely wrong!..."Sam said, stomping her foot. "You're crazy for trusting her, let alone date her and you have to know it!..."She said, refusing to back down due to her own pride.
"Enough!..."Danny said, before sighing.
"Sam, I don't want to keep fighting with you about Mandie. In case you haven't noticed, she's changed! And if you can't see it, then why bother arguing about it?!..."He said, being serious.
The goth girl huffed, now showing her frustration as anger arched her back. She looked like she was thinking about what to say, choosing her words carefully.
"I'm arguing about it, because I care!..."Sam yelled.
"That part seems less obvious, since you just don't like her!..."Danny said, ready to pull his hair out right now.
"I don't like her because she sees you as nothing, but a trophy! How do you know if she didn't mess with your brain with some kind of alien device to get you to take her?!..."Sam accused with her voice raising, stomping over to the ghost boy.
"Mandie didn't do that! If anything, I don't think her people can even do that!..." Danny said, recollecting how Mandie's style seemed more upfront and brute force, not from a far away distance and manipulation like how Sam is describing.
"Plus, what makes you so sure that Mandie's even attempting to do anything like that?! At this point, we would have noticed, don't ya think?..." Danny asked, wondering why she is so against his relationship with Mandie.
"Oh, that is bull! You went from wanting nothing to do with her, to being her boyfriend pretty fast! How can you even say any of that without even noticing the complete 180 you did?!..."Sam shouted, starting to snarl at this point.
Her rage unable to be contained, but the ghost boy refused to be pushed around and fought back.
"It was NOT fast and it was NOT a 180! It took weeks of constant talking, dozens of fights, trust building and actually getting to know each other for us to go from enemies to where we are right now. That's not fast, even in teen years and you know it!..."Danny retorted with a rising tone.
He continued to make his point crystal clear to his longtime female friend.
"It certainly wasn't easy, but in a funny way...I'm kind of glad that it happened that way..."Danny said, as he remembered everything that happened that got him to this point of his current relationship with Mandie.
"I don't believe this..."Sam muttered, slapping her head in frustration and disbelief.
"You have to believe me!...I know it sounds crazy, but this is actually the truth!..."Danny continued.
"The truth!? How can you say that when all you've been doing is sucking face with that maniac!? That's probably how she's been brainwashing you! Like some kind of face...hugger...mind...jacking...control...ray...thingy..."Sam said, but soon found herself having trouble right now.
The ghost boy clearly did not look impressed by what she had just said.
"Wow...I can't believe you'd say that. You do realize that you're just putting words together for the sake of it at this point, right?..."Danny said, while Sam's face turned red.
"It could happen!..."Sam yelled.
"Even if that was possible, she could have done that to me when she was hunting me down. Not when she was gorging on ice cream and marveling over arcade games..."Danny pointed out.
"I dunno...maybe...it's just something...she discovered she could do...because of the ice cream..."Sam said, but even she knew how pathetic that sounded.
"Sam, enough. You're just...I don't even know how to finish that..."Danny said, while the goth girl glared.
"It wouldn't matter what you'd say, cause I'm not changing my mind about any of this either way!..."Sam argued.
Danny sighed, trying hard not to lose his patience with her.
"Sam...look...I know Mandie comes from a different culture than us, but honor is a big thing to her people and she wouldn't try something like that!..."Danny said, while his goth friend wouldn't have any of his reasoning.
"I think if you just get to know her for more than just her title and first impression, then I sure even you two could learn to get along with one another..."He said, sounding hopeful.
"This is no time for jokes!..."Sam said, finding the idea of getting along with Mandie to be absurd.
"I'm not joking! I'm serious. Please Sam, just give Mandie a chance to show you who she really is and I know that you'll start to see what I already see in her..."Danny said, while the goth girl looked at him like he said something crazy.
The goth girl remained stubborn and kept arguing with him.
"She's an ALIEN WARLORD, Danny! She dangerous with a capital D! She has probably been conquering planets before we were out of elementary school! And who knows how many were destroyed! There's nothing more dishonorable than that, and for all we know, she could've done THOUSANDS of horrible things while conquering other planets in her old universe that she still hasn't fessed up to!..." Sam yelled.
Danny sighed.
"Even so...she's changed. I know she is still technically a warlord...but she gave me her word..."Danny said, knowing that Mandie was serious when she promised him that she wouldn't invade the Earth or let any of her people invade it either.
He also knew that, so far, she's kept her word to him and that was enough for him. Sam still didn't look convince and he sighed.
"Yes, it might sound crazy to you Sam, but I trust her! Enough to vouch for her too! Heck, I'd even go so far as to trust her to have my back when it counts!..." Danny yelled back.
"You're so clueless!..."Sam said as she dragged her hand down her face.
"And you're distrustful of almost everyone who isn't me or Tucker!..."Danny said, pointing out one of her worst qualities.
This statement made Sam's blood boil a bit from rage.
"What's that suppose to mean?!..."She demanded.
"Face it, Sam. You claim to be an open minded individual, but you have a bad habit of judging people before you actually get to know them and you refuse to associate with anyone besides us just for the most minor of reasons you could find..."Danny said.
"I do not!..."Sam said, offended.
"It's true! You assume that all cheerleaders are shallow brats, anyone who eats meat and isn't as nature conscious as you to be automatically in the wrong, and you assume that all zoos are prisons for animals when, in a lot of cases, they may actually be SAFER in there than in the wild where they can be hunted by predators and poachers!..."Danny pointed out.
"That's thing about cheerleaders and non-vegans are all true and the thing about zoos is what the man wants people to think!..."Sam yelled.
Danny rolled his eyes.
"With the exception of Star and Paulina, have you ever actually TRIED talking to the other cheerleaders at our school?..."He asked, already knowing the answer.
"Why should I? They're all Paulina's little lackies and they look down on us as much as she does..."Sam said, arms crossed.
"I'm not saying there aren't cheerleaders who are mean, but just assuming they are mean because they are cheerleaders is pretty narrow minded..."Danny said while the goth frowned at him.
"Also, that whole "the man" thing isn't even real. Why do you insist that a single entity is responsible for everything you seem to be against? When, in reality it's a group of many different individuals with different opinions and views that made those things happen and you just can't stand the fact that you have no control over that?..."Danny asked.
"What did you just say?!..."Sam yelled.
"It's all true. Face it, Sam. Unless something is the way you think it should be, you automatically hate it and try and change it if you can..."Danny said.
"Name one time that I've ever done any of that?!..."Sam demanded.
"Hmm...let's change the school menu an all vegetarian menu? Let's let the gorilla loose? Let's turn my parents OP center into our own private radio station?..."Danny said with a faux smile, before frowning at her.
"Ring any bells?..."He asked.
"Anything else you wanna blame me for?! Global warming? The dark ages?! Morning breath?!..."Sam yelled at him.
"You can't deny anything I just said. Face it, Sam. Everything I said is true. I know that your heart is in the right place, but you can be pretty pushy and judgemental on your worst days. You didn't even want to include Jazz on our team at all until Spectra, Ember and Kitty had their little girl's night out, while I was out of town..."Danny reminded.
"Sorry for not wanting to work with someone who thinks "Ghost Getters" is a good team name and who trapped you in the thermos three times in one night!..."Sam pointed out.
"Point taken, but even before that, you barely talked to my sister unless you had to and you've known her almost as much as you knew me and Tucker..."Danny said.
"Just because she's your sister, doesn't mean I have to talk with her..."Sam said.
"No, but it'd be nice if you did beforehand, before she joined our team..."Danny said, while the goth girl crossed her arms in irritation.
"I'm just saying that you can at least TRY and be a little more open minded. Also, you can at least TRY to give Mandie the benefit of the doubt and not pick a fight with her every change you get..."He said, almost sounding desperate here.
He was met with a disapproving scowl from Sam.
"I don't trust her, Danny. I never have and never will..."Sam said, stating her stance on this subject.
"I'm not asking you to trust her, but can't you trust me and respect my decision?..."He asked, trying to meet her halfway.
The goth, however, didn't respond in a way as the ghost boy was hoping. Instead, she chose to act more flippant.
"Like you've got such a great track record with picking girlfriends?!..."Sam scoffed, offending the ghost boy again.
"What's that suppose to mean?..."Danny demanded, starting to feel a bit insulted again.
"Oh, well let me see... between Paulina dating you to steal you from someone else, Kitty blackmailing you to make Johnny jealous, the girls who were only nice to you because you were the judge of that stupid pageant, and the cherry on the top was you almost going steady with Valerie the ghost slayer, who not only hunted you but also TORTURED YOU after giving Dani to Vlad!..." Sam shouted, still furious with the armored ghost hunter.
Danny sighed with a hint of disappointment, but before he retorted, the goth girl continued where she left off.
"Don't try to deny it, we all saw the marks she left on you. And seriously, Mandie?! The whole trying to kidnap you to breed super soldiers should have been a huge turnoff!..."Sam said, and the ghost boy sighed.
"I get what she is trying to say but-...Wait, who did Paulina try to steal me from?..."Danny wondered, before shaking his head.
He decided that it wasn't all that important right now as he returned to the topic of their conversation, namely the part where Sam judges his dating record.
"Well?..." Sam asked, waiting for him to agree.
"Fine, maybe my dating track record isn't flawless, but it's different with Mandie. I'll admit that we didn't get off on the right foot at first, but that's all changed. We're getting along better than before and we're grown to both respect and care about each other. Why can't you just be happy for me?!..."Danny yelled, trying to get through to his thick skinned goth friend, which is much easier said than actually done.
If anything, her skin grew thicker upon hearing that.
"She wanted to use you to be her alien baby daddy to help her conquer the universe!..."Sam reminded.
"That was BEFORE we started over and got to know each other better. She says that she's willing to wait until I'm an adult for a real talk about taking our relationship to the next level and she promised not to invade earth anymore..."Danny said, completely trusting in Mandie's word.
Sam however, didn't look all that convinced at all. The ghost boy still tried to get her to see things from his perspective.
"Mandie may be a warrior princess who did plan to take over the universe, but she's changed. She's also very loyal to her people and values honor and strength amongst fighting for true glory on a battle field. And she's hot, not just her looks, but how brave and fearless she can be..."Danny said, admiring those traits about her.
"She might be a little crazy sometimes, but she really can a good person if you just give her a chance. In fact, you'd be surprised by just how much nicer she really is, once you actually get to know her. She's funny, sweet, honest, genuine and one of the toughest girls I've ever fought with...which I admit is a real turn on..."He said, practically blushing as he was talking about his space girlfriend.
He continued to keep bringing up her best attributes.
"She never backs down from a challenge or any challenge really, even if she doesn't know about the subject. She loyal to a fault, fights like no one I've ever seen before, and most of all, she genuinely likes me. All of me! Not just Fenton or Phantom..."Danny said, counting everything that he's grown to love about Mandie.
"Yeah, she does want to make me her future king, but we compromised on being boyfriend and girlfriend for the time being. Which she and I will talk further about later. I don't even know if it'll last that long, but I'm not making plans. Even so, she's not using me to make anyone jealous, or get me to help them win a pageant or doesn't know about my powers. She actually feels genuine feelings for me...and I admit that it has become mutual...I'm not sure if I love her, but...what I do know is that I really like her and I really want to see where this relationship is gonna go..."Danny said, being sincere.
This news stunned the goth girl into silence, but the ghost boy just continued to stand his ground.
"She genuinely likes me for who and everything I am and that's so much more than any other girl that's ever paid any attention to me before. No other girl does..."Danny said, as he thought about his alien girlfriend.
His words ended up breaking something inside the goth girl, and she ended up opening out and blurting out the first thing that came to her mind.
"I do!..." Sam shouted, shocking Danny
The ghost boy was snapped out of his current state and is now staring confusingly at his goth friend. Her words still echoing in his head.
"Wait...what?..."Danny asked, looking befuddled.
His gothic friend was now getting angrier and more exasperated, even desperate too.
While Sam was too busy being frustrated that she was too late to confess her feelings sooner, that she didn't seem to care that she had already shouted out her true feelings for Danny already.
She gasped trying to fight off her emotional need to shed tears as the realization of what she just said finally hit her.
"Seriously?! What's wrong with me?!…"Sam thought, going wide eye as she covered her mouth in shock and mortification.
It took a moment for her male friend to process what she had just said before he reacted accordingly.
"What?!…"Danny gasped, not understanding what she's just revealed.
"Did she just say...she likes me?..."Danny thought, trying to make sense of this.
Sam likes him?
She LIKES him, likes him?
She actually LIKES him, likes him?
And here he was, just now processing it while Sam was at a mental fork in the road right now.
She knew that she had few choices here.
Deny it all and run away...or finally come clean and be honest with Danny about how she really feels about him.
She recalled her talk with Tucker and realized that she exposed her own secret. Finally seeing that her techno wiz friend might have been right, she ran out of options.
The goth girl sighed, knowing that the cat is out of the bag and that there was no going back now.
"Guess I have only one way to make him see..."She thought, taking a deep breath.
She decided to just roll her dice and risk it all, Even if she knows that she'll probably lose in an emotional sense. She still had to try.
"I've liked you...and not just as a friend..."Sam said, being as blunt as possible.
She finally said it. She finally admitted her feelings to him here.
The ghost boy was left speechless from what he just heard. To say that Danny Fenton was shocked was an understatement.
"Sam...likes me? Wait, is THAT why people call me clueless?..."He thought, finally putting two and two together.
If Tucker was there, he would have made a face, and shake his head in disapproval.
The goth girl sighed once more before pinching the upper part of her nose and giving in and continued with her confession.
"Danny, you've been my oldest friend, who's always stood by my side especially during the time where we were kids and I had no choice, but to wear anything that was pink. Even when the other girls didn't want to play with me, since I refused to play princess or dolls, and the boys didn't want to play with me because they thought girls had cooties...you were the first one to offer to play with me as a kid, and soon Tucker joined in our little circle of friends. You even helped me hide my goth side from my parents when I was younger and also helped me sneak in and out to the Skulk-n-Lurk. We were both the best of friends and I can't imagine my life without either of you or Tucker...but especially you..."Sam said, remembering that awful and very pink time in her childhood.
Danny remembered that time, as he also remembered that it was also the time Sam discovered her dislike of the mainstream and anything pink and feminine, as a result of her parents controlling ways.
Anyway, the goth girl continued her love confession, hoping that it would not be in vain.
"I've liked you, long before you were able to lift a bus over your head or before you could shoot ghost rays from your hands. We were both unlike the rest, it's what made us unique. It's what made us... special..."She said, as she lists off all the times she liked him.
The Ghost Boy was reminded of all the times that most of their peers had rejected he and his friends, mainly so because of his parents. Even so, Sam and Tucker had always had his back and Sam, in particular, had been his rock in some of the toughest times in his life.
He didn't realize until now just how deep her own feelings were for him. Even so, she continued to confess everything that she has been bottling up for a long time.
"You were always kind of cool despite what other people said about you and were never afraid to point out when I was wrong, even when we argued and disagreed a lot. I still loved you even then. I also like how kind and funny you are and fun to hang out with. You're just my best friend, you're my first love. And someone that I thought could feel the same way about me ...or so I thought..."Sam said, tears forming in her eyes as she did her best to keep her eyes from getting more watery.
She didn't sound angry anymore. She just sounded heartbroken right now as she stared down into the ground.
The ghost boy, on the other hand, had mixed feelings about this whole thing. The ghost boy's first reaction to all this was confusion.
"Sam, I...I don't know what to say..."Danny said, stunned and unsure how to respond.
Sam groaned.
"Don't bother answering, I already know what it'll be. It's clearly written all over your face. You don't feel that same way about me! You're NEVER going to feel the same way about me! Just admit it!..."Sam said, heartbroken at this point.
Danny was about to say something, but he didn't and took a few more moments to think about his answer. He did his best to think through what he was about to say.
He sighed and tried to speak as honestly and gently as possible, as he tried not to hurt Sam's feelings any more than this. If anything, he was worried it would not come out as well as it did in his head.
"Sam, you're one of my oldest friends and...I admit that maybe a few months ago...if you told me all of this...I might have returned the feelings..."Danny said, making the goth girl feel hopeful.
However, what he said next dashed that hope.
"But...I can't. I'm sorry, Sam. You'll always be important to me but...Mandie..."Danny said, as he wasn't too sure how to finish this sentence.
He saw the pained look in Sam's eyes go from sad, to angry, sorrowful, betrayed and then finally furious again.
However, no one knew if she was more furious at him for rejecting her...or at herself for missing her chance.
"I waited too long..."She thought, feeling her heart break even more now.
"Out of all the girls that beat me to the punch, it just had to be one that was a Princess and from outer space and a different universe too. And she tried to kidnap you too!..." Sam muttered before she walked off, she shaking her head furiously.
"Sam!..."Danny reached out to her, but she refused to stop.
Before she left, she turned to face the ghost boy and confessed one last thing to him. So she briefly pulled herself together and wiped away any built up tears in her eyes. She did not want to show any more weakness beneath her aloof exterior.
Danny was silent as his female friend was slowing moving away from him. Not just physically either.
"Enjoy your "happily ever after" with your princess, Danny! You two deserve each other!..."Sam said, turning back around before leaving.
The ghost boy was too busy with his mind being so distracted by so many thoughts racing around his head. Revelations were still fresh in his head, as well as processing the fact that his friendship with Sam just may have changed...and not for the better.
Danny was just standing there, stupefied for a minute after Sam left. He stayed standing in silence for a while, before he got over the shock with a stunned expression on his face.
"What the heck just happened?!..."Danny thought, baffled by this outcome.
Danny tried to catch up with her, but she was already gone. He tried to call and text her, but she ignored him, refusing to answer.
With a sigh in defeat, Danny decided to just go home in a mixture of sadness and bewilderment.
He had a lot to think about, as well as how to process it.
Later
On Boudacia
Mandie had arrived home sooner than she expected, not that she noticed. She was busy being on space cloud 9.
A cloud that she boarded on thanks to Danny.
"Oh, Danny!~..."The princess thought, feeling extra giddy right now.
Mandie completed docking procedures and was soon walking out of her spaceship and heading towards her bed chambers. As she thought about how her last date with her beloved went with a skip in her steps.
She was particularly glowing with a blissful smile on her face as she recalled her recent date with her boyfriend/future groom to be from Earth, especially during all the exchanges of their affection for each other.
She recalled the feeling of his hand, the look of his smile, and the tone of voice.
She left the area with a skip in her step as she headed towards her quarters. She even started skipping her way to her room, after checking to see that no one could see her do it.
Thankfully no one did, and if anyone did see her do it...well, it would have looked like very un-princess-like of her, after all.
At least by Boudacian standards. However, she didn't care right now as her mind was on her one true love and the wonderful date that they had just had together.
"My date with Danny was simply marvelous, as always! I really look forward to the next one..."She thought, smiling like a lovesick fool.
Her heart fluttered with joy as her thoughts were filled with memories of Danny and their wonderful rendezvous today.
Their date had so many wonderful events...the sparring, the blissful moments of affection, the rocky road ice cream and the second dose of blissful moments of affection before she left.
It was easy to tell that she enjoyed the blissful moments of affection. She had her superhero and possible future king to thank for these glorious feelings that she was enjoying right now.
As the space princess walked, she recalled that delectable Earth treat that they had enjoyed and was already craving it once more.
"We have to serve rocky road at our reception. As well as many other cuisines from Earth that can be brought to Boudacia..." Mandie thought, giggling a bit as she thought of her future with Danny, along with other things that she has come to love from his world.
She had really gotten hooked on Earth's frozen treat. She desired more, almost as much as she desired her ghostly knight in shining armor.
She started to day dream about her boyfriend from Earth and their future wedding. She blushed deeply as she imagined a marital kiss with her future king, with their lips tasting of chocolate and marshmallows from ice cream and a sweet after taste.
She just knew that it would be wonderful.
"Glorious~..."She sighed dreamily.
"I should definitely suggest that for our next date together to involve a bit more ice cream and this sauce of chocolate..."She thought, hopeful that Danny will agree to it.
As she walked, her mind was still filled with loving thoughts about the only man in the world who is worthy of her heart...and the yummy treat that she has come to enjoy greatly.
"Still I had yet to experience the dreaded brain-freeze, perhaps my beloved mate's kisses had made me immune to them!..."She thought, giggling more.
With a big smile, she hummed to herself the wedding march as she continued to head to her room.
As she was on her way, her parents caught her as she tried to sneak into the palace and arriving back home at a suspicious hour. This did not sit well with them.
"Where do you think you're going, young lady?!..." Maurus questions, looking angry.
"Umm... nowhere..." Mandie lied nervously, mentally scolding herself for letting her guard down and getting caught so easily by her parents.
Her mother didn't believe her, and sent a cold glare at her.
"Mandie, you dare to lie to your parents. We heard that you skipped like a child and were off world.."Milee said, looking stern.
Mandie cringed.
"I...uh...well...I was..."She stammered, hating getting caught off guard like this.
However, her parents had a hunch on what she might have been up to.
"You were visiting your special suitor, weren't you?..."Milee said, already seeing right through her daughter's actions.
"Is it that obvious?..."Mandie asked, as she wondered if her mother was psychic or not.
"Yes..."Milee said, while her husband got into another one of his predictable shouts of outrages
"WHERE IS THIS MYSTERY SUITOR?! WHERE ON BOUDACIA IS HE?!..." Maurus screeched, frothing somewhat from the mouth.
"Dear..." Milee warned.
"Sorry..." He said, wiping his mouth clean.
Once done, he glared at his daughter.
"Young lady, this nonsense of yours has gone long enough. Now tell us, where on Boudacia is this suitor of yours?..."Maurus demanded once more.
Mandie frowned, hating being cornered like this.
"And what if I say that my suitor isn't even on Boudacia right now?.."Mandie asked, hoping that acting haughty would throw her parents off her trail.
That got her father's attention, but he sent her a suspicious glare.
"Not on Boudacia maybe... but what of Earth?..." He asked in an accusing manner.
Mandie's eyes widen in shock.
"E-Earth? W-Why would you say that?..."Mandie asked, while her father glared at her.
"Well, if that is not the case...then perhaps we should attack it now? Maybe send our armada to-..."The king was cut off when his daughter got defensive and protective right now, which was rather out of character of her, as far as he was concerned.
"NO! You can't! I promised him!..." Mandie cried.
She realized her mistake and that she had fallen for her father's trap.
"I knew it! You have been seeing that Danny Phantom creature, is that so?! Do not lie, Brutis told us everything! How you have been literally courting the enemy!..."Maurus shouted, acting like she's committed some form of treason.
"Note to self, kill that idiot and hide the evidence..."Mandie muttered, before she noticed the glare from her father.
Mandie realized that she was caught red handed, but huffed.
"And what if I have been seeing Danny? What of it?..."Mandie asked in a rebellious manner.
"He is THE ENEMY!..."Maurus yelled at her, while his daughter crossed her arms.
"You haven't even MET him yet!..."Mandie yelled at him.
"He is from that wretched mud ball called Earth and he is a threat to our invasion. That is more than enough to make him an enemy of Boudacia!..."Maurus argued.
Mandie glared at that.
"Even if he's your enemy, he's not mine! He's my boyfriend and I'm busy making him fall in love with me!..."Mandie said, while her father looked at her like she said something ludicrous.
"Mandie!..."The king shouted, but Mandie's mother spoke up next.
"Is that so, my little monster? Hmm... well, I did have my suspicions that you might have been taken with him for a while..."Milee said, as she recalled how her daughter looked at the warrior for the first time.
Mandie was worried, but her mother then smiled.
"Well...he is young, powerful, and attractive. As long as he treats you right, then I have no objection with you seeing him..."The queen said, but her husband disagreed.
"WELL, I DO!..."He shouted, his fur briefly turning fiery in anger, before cooling down a bit.
It didn't change the fact that he is REALLY angry right now with his daughter.
"This is why you've been less willing to conquer! Less willing to slay your enemies! He's making you go soft!..."He accused.
"I have NOT become soft! I am just honoring the promise that I made to him!..."Mandie yelled at him.
"As both the king of this planet and as your FATHER, I forbid you from seeing him again, unless it's to end his life!..." Maurus shouted, but his daughter got more upset.
"I LOVE HIM!..." Mandie exclaimed, trying to get his father to see reason.
"What relevance is this?! It's not as if you two are marrying..."Maurus said.
However, what his daughter said next would shock him to his very core.
"We may as well be..."Mandie said, knowing that she has to say this now. "He bested me in battle...more than once..."She confessed.
Her parents gasped, shocked to hear this revelation from their only daughter.
"WHAT?!..."They exclaimed, looking stunned and even some of the palace servants were in disbelief to hear this.
"It's true!..."Mandie insisted.
Her father snapped out of his shock, and growled.
"There is no way that some lowly earthling can defeat a Boudacian in battle, much less my own flesh and blood, even with those powers of his!..."Maurus shouted, refusing to believe the half ghost earthling could do that.
Mandie sighed, knowing how stubborn her father is. She knew that he won't believe it unless he sees it with his own eyes.
However, she had a way of making that happen.
"I have proof..."Mandie said as she pulled out her special sunglasses.
"I was planning on telling you guys later, under nicer circumstances...like after Danny was ready to give me a diamond ring, but looks like the gloarksman is out of the bag now..."Mandie said, as she prepared to show them the footage to prove her claims.
She sighed, knowing that this won't be easy to say the least.

4) A jerk.
5) I'll consider it.
6) Right.
7) Maybe.
8) He tracked Mandie down.

23) She is losing her patience, to say the least.
24) Yeah.
25) Brutis actually is a decent fighter by Boudacian standards. It's just that Mandie and Danny are a lot stronger and more powerful, that they easily make a fool out of him.
26) I'll think about it. Thanks for the suggestion.
redandready45: Looks like she couldn't.

Also, the reason I have Sam's parents act this way isn't that they are bad people, they are just spoiled and want to give Sam what THEY think is best for her. The problem is that their opinions are different from their daughter's and that causes tension between them. That and they are really stubborn with their views, not unlike Sam.
As for Tucker's talk with Sam, I am glad that you approve of the wake up call that he gave her. Unfortunately, Sam remained stubborn but at the very least finally confessed to Danny. Unfortunately for her, it was a little late. I will consider what you suggested for Sam and Tucker's talk, thanks for the suggestion. I am also glad that you approve of Danny's decision of not letting Mandie kill Vlad, even if he hates the guy. I will also consider your idea about them talking about how to deal with Vlad.
Unfortunately, Sam acted rather hostile during her argument with Danny, but at the very least she finally confessed to him, but as Danny stated, he MIGHT have returned those feelings in the past, but things have changed and he has Mandie now. Sam is now dealing with her broken heart, but at least acknowledges that she waited too long.
Anyway, I am glad that you enjoyed that chapter and I hope that this one is up to standards.
:) I hope you enjoyed this! Remember to read and review :)
