Chapter one : A seeker is born
Prague Czech Republic
A well dressed blonde man could be seen sauntering down a dark hallway. The man, had his hands in the pockets of his black dress pants in a nonchalant manner. The sounds of his black Italian leather shoes filling the empty hallway with sounds of soft steps. The man fixed the once loose black tie that was over his white button up shirt. Tightening it to appear in a more fashionable manner. The man buttoned up his silk black vest gracefully, working the buttons with apparent ease.
The young man stopped in front of a single metal door, the young man let out a sigh as he unbuttoned the cuffs of his shirt and rolled of the sleeves a little showing off the man toned forearms. Reaching into his back pocket he quickly slipped on a pair of black leather gloves. To complete his look, he gently reached into his vest pocket and pulled out a pair of sunglasses. Looking down at them the young man looked into his own reflection. A glove finger gently rubbed against the frame of the glasses. As light blue eyes stared back at him. A cocky grin plastered his face as he slipped them on. The man knocked on the door his hands immediately finding his pockets as he waited for a response.
The door slowly opened as the young man took a deep breath and made his way into the room. The man stepped up to a giant wooden desk, mahogany of course. The man has been in this room plenty of times. The books lining the walls to the left and right. Ancient animals skin parchments adorn the walls. Riches and trinkets line the shelves of the room. The man's attention however, was dead set on the man sitting behind the desk. A heaver set man wearing a pristine white suit, a dark blue button up underneath the blazer, and a lighter blue tie, the man wore a silk scarf the draped over the shoulders. The older man's face gave an aura of confidence and experience, a face harden through years of battle and knowledge. The man's right eye a ghostly white matching the almost silver hair. This man, was the Professor. The leader of the Organization.
The young man immediately got to a knee, head bowed in respect. "You called for me Professor?" The man's eyes never wavering from the floor. His tone neutral and even. A smile graced the face of the Professor, as his right hand fingers began to lightly tap his desk. The golden ring with a bright red jewel shined brightly. "Please Lok, we are in the privacy of my office. Feel free to relax." The young man nodded his head as he stood up. "You wanted to see me Father ?" Lok asked as he stood back up, his hands slipping back into his pockets. His back however still standing straight, shoulders rolled back.
The Professor gave a simple nod as he stood from his desk and walked over to one of the animal skin tapestries. His cane tapping with authority, his steps controlled and even. Just as the Professor operates. "Tell me, Lok my boy. Your seventeenth birthday was this year correct?" Lok knew the question was rhetorical, but he also understood when the Professor asked you a question, even if he was the boys father. You answered honestly and quickly. "Yes father, it was this year."
"Ah yes, I thought so. Hard to remember things when you get to be my age my boy." The Professor said warmly, the ringed hand pulled the animal skin outwards and behind it was a safe. "Now then, you do remember what we talked about. When your seventeenth birthday was come to pass ?" He asked as reached in and grabbed a black leather box and closed it. Concealing the safe again he walked over to Lok and handed him the black leather box.
"you said I was to start doing operations for the organization." Lok stated coolly as he gently took the leather box opening it. Inside the box was an antique golden pocket watch. Lok took off his sunglasses and looked at it. His eyes shot up to the Professors in surprise. "Grandfathers pocket watch ? Why are you giving it to me ?" The Professor let out a small chuckle, amused at the young man's shocked expression. "My father gave me that very watch when I was seventeen. I'm just keeping a tradition alive." Lok merely nodded as he clicked open the watch. Showing the correct time, as he looked on the inside of the watch he stoped. A black and white picture of the Professor and a seven year old Lok could be seen. Lok holding a wooden puzzle box and the Professor standing next to the boy hand on his shoulder smiling proudly.
The Professor placed a hand on Lok's shoulder. "Now then are you ready for your first assignment?" Lok nodded to the man as he closed the watch and gently put it in his inner vest pocket. The Professor only smiled as he walked back to his desk having a seat. "As you know, I'm in charge of the operations of the organization. A little birdie told me a member by the name of Wilder has been planning on making a power play." Lok merely nodded, his hands going back to his pockets. "You want me to find him and remind him who is in charge ?" Lok asked an eyebrow raised wondering why is father would send him of all people for the job. A wicked grin appeared on the man's face. "No my boy, I want you to eliminate him." The Professor stated simply as he began the gently play with the golden ring on his right hand staring into the soul of his son.
Lok's throat ran dry, finding it hard to breathe if only just a little. He knew his father, when he started to play with his ring. Everyone would pray they could tell him what he wanted to hear honestly. His glove hand clenched slightly, the leather groaned at the sudden force. Staring at his father, the Professor's wicked grin never leaving his face. As if to ask if there was a problem. " I will get it done." The boy hesitated for a second before slipping on his sunglasses. "I will complete this task Professor." He stated in a professional tone.
The Professor simply stood up and walked over to his son, he reached his ring hand out and gently rubbed his son's head. As he did many times when Lok was just a boy. A smile plastered the older man's face, as a dark glow began to over take the spot he was rubbing on Lok's head. "I know you won't disappoint me son." He stated a tinge of coldness took over his voice. Lok's eyes shined a dull red through his sunglasses, meeting the eyes of the Professor. "I won't." He stated as a wicked grin took over his face. "I'll have his amulets on your desk." He stated with a nod as he left to leave. "Oh ? Not his head?" The professor asked in a playful tone. "Sure, if there is a head left to bring back." Lok stated as he turned to look at the older man. Lok's hand shot out and caught a small amulet in his hand. He looked down at it and back to the professor. "A mere Redcap and Mind drone won't cut it I'm afraid. So think of this as a loan. Dominator has served me well. He will be an excellent weapon for this assignment." The Professor simply stated as he made his way back to his seat. Lok nodded as he bowed his head. "Thank you professor."
He simply waved his hand dismissing the new agent. "The rest of the information will be in your holotome." With a slight tap of his cane he gave a boy a good luck and sent him on his way. As Lok left the room the Organization leader leaned back in his chair and gently began to play with the ring on his right hand. "The boy is mine now Ethan, you may have denied my plans." He gently began to spin the ring around his finger a few times until the gem faced him once again. Staring down at his reflection in the red gem. "Your son no, my son. Will be a useful means for me to get what I want." The Professor stated as a small laugh escaped his lips.

"what I don't get is why the professor wanted to meet here of all places." A spiked up blonde haired man in a white suit.Light gray vest underneath with a magenta tie. Said into a cellar held to his right ear. "Yeah well he said it was important for a special assignment. Why he chose a rundown factory is beyond me." He let out a small laugh as he shook his head. "No, it's fine. It's one of the reasons why I think there should be change." He looked around the area, he had arrived early so he wasn't too worried about flys on the walls. He was however going to watch what he said. Hence the vague statement. "It's almost time, I'll contact you after I'm done." He hung up the phone and placed it in his jacket pocket. Looking around the area he would admit to himself, and surly to no one else he was kinda creeped out by the place.
Wilder looked around a bunch of abandoned machinery left to rust and be forgotten. His head shot around as he heard a crash come from behind him. His head shot to the amulet in his pocket only to realize it was just a cat running through old barrels. " Damn Wilder, calm down. Just a cat." He told himself reassuringly. "Jumpy today, aren't we Wilder ?" A amused voice called out. Wilder swung around amulet drawn as he glared as a teen resting his back against a moss covered pillar. Recognizing the boy he put his amulet back. "Oh, just you. Something just has me on edge." Wilder stated and he ran a hand through his hair. A arrogant smile cooling his features. "Must be a big assignment if the Professor is sending out Jr from the play pin." He stated as he dusted imaginary dust from his jacket.
Lok let out a chuckle as an eerie smile began to take over his face. "Oh yes, I was given a special assignment indeed." He nudged himself off the pillar and placed his hands in his pockets and his smile turned into a wicked grin. "You see, this factory here." He took his right hand out and pointed one finger to the ground. "Has a horrible rat problem. I've been sent to take care of it." At those words Wilder went stiff as a small bead of sweat formed at the back of his neck. Looking at the boy he cold only see the grin of a man who has a target dead to rights.
Wilder let out a small laugh as he placed his hands in his pockets. Mirroring the boy in front of him. "So you figured me out. Can't say I'm surprised really. You stay on top for a reason." Lok raised a brow and place his pointed hand on his hip. "Hm, not even going to try and deny it ? Beg for forgiveness? Plead about all the good work you do ?"
"Sorry Jr, not my style. I wouldn't have made the plans I have without having a back bone to back it up." Wilder stated as he pulled out a small amulet from his pocket. "I'll just have to kill you, then take over by force. Not my first plan. Oh well." He said prudently as he lifted the amulet above his hand. "Attack Incubane !" He yelled as the demon titan appeared from a glow of red and green.A glint in the eye meant for murder as it stood in front Wilder.
Lok only smiled as his left hand pulled out of his pocket. A amulet already grabbed by the string holding it high above his head he let out a dark laugh as his eyes shown a glowing red. "Serve me ! Dominator!" He yelled out as a bright crimson red filled the factory floor. Wilder couldn't help but yell out as the light blinded him as he had to turn away. "That's alright, this just makes my job easier." Lok yelled out his voice echoing around the room. Wilder tried to look at the boy a small squint of the eye and all he could see was something that almost shook Wilder. Lok's smile, as if it was all just a game to him. As if he was just a small stepping stone to great things. Wilder would never admit to anyone else. In this one moment, he was scared.
Pian, that's all Wilder could describe, a numb pain in his stomach. Wilder let out a soft groan as his back slammed into a pillar. His vision blurry as he felt his titan getting forced back into its amulet. "W-what are you ?" Wilder asked as his hands tried to cover the gaping wound in his intestines.
Lok merely let a small chuckle, as he gently placed his left hand back into his pocket. As he approached the down blonde he placed a sharp kick into the man's gut and reached his right hand down and wiped the blood from his glove on the man's face. "What's the point of me telling you? You'll still be dead." The blue eyes of Lok having a faint red glow still as Dominator growled behind him its spiked hands smashing into the ground. Wilder let out a laugh as he suddenly pulled out another amulet. "Grand Fa- agh." He tried to call out until Lok's left hand clasp tightly around his throat. Shutting off his air supply, Wilder could only choke out as he heard the sound of Lok's gloves creaking and groaning from force.
"y-you know kid, one day you'll end up just like me." Using his last amount of will power to get one last comment in. Maybe sow a seed of doubt. Who knows, all he knew was he wasn't going out like a nobody. Lok pulled his shades down to the bridge of his nose and he let out a smile. "I doubt that, unlike you I'm not replaceable." Wilder let out a sobbing laugh. "You're kidding ? Just because you are his kid ?" Wilder gave him a blood stained toothy grin. "You're just another pet, you're-" Wilder started to say as suddenly a crunched sound could be heard. Lok looked down at his hand and pulled it back. Flexing the fingers he had around the man's neck. "Oops." Was all Lok managed to get out as he shrugged and reached into Wilder's jacket collecting all the amulets on his person. "Oh well, better luck in your next life." He mused as he recalled his titan. The red aura returning to the gem. Lok held the amulet up to his eyes. "Appreciate that help there." The gem flickered a bright red and went back to its neutral color. "Man, you are a feisty one." He poked the gem and slowly began to spin the string around his finger. Letting out a soft whistle of a catch song he had heard once upon a time.
Organization HQ
Lok made his way down the long hallways, his leather gloves packed safely in his back pocket. His hands in his front pockets. His steps having a natural swagger, a nonchalant speed. Completely ignorant of the dried blood on his collar. His fingers in his right pocket gently rubbing the amulet therapeutically. He was going to miss having such a powerful titan. Oh well maybe he will get a more powerful one soon. Not that he didn't appreciate the standard Redcap and Mind drone, of course. Just he understood if you wanted to make it in this dog eat dog organization. You need real power. Oh well, it is what it is.
"Look at you kid, left as boy but came back as a man." A gruff male voice called out. Lok being pulled out of thoughts as a playful smile crossed his lips. He turned his head to look behind himself. "Well someone has to be a man between the two of us Owen." Lok called out to a man was a little taller than him self. Wearing the standard cheap organization suit. Shoulder length brown hair. Eyes covered by the ever so trendy sunglasses. To the left of Owen was a woman a head shorter than the both of them. Her dark blue hair in a breaded ponytail. Very tan skin, almost a rich caramel in color. "He has you beat there." She chuckled as Owen let out a sigh. "Not you too Jenna, Lok is bad enough."
As the two suits walk beside the blonde, the boy wrapped his arms around their shoulders. "Aw come on guys, I'm still the same old me. I'll make sure to remember you guys once I make it big time." The three of them shared a laugh, as the older suits shoved him forward a little bit. "Yeah we will hold you to that." Jenna stated as she walked off to one of the hallways. Owen following suit with a two finger salute. " You better! Also we better not be just fetching your coffee!" He yelled out before shooting down the hallway after Jenny. Lok could only let out a laugh as he walked down to the Professor's office.
Standing in front of the door he gave it a gentle knock, fix up his tie he waited patiently as the door opened. Stepping inside Lok slowly walked up to the Professor's desk and set Wilder's amulets and Dominators amulet next to the pile. Stepping away from the desk he straightened his stance and flashed his Father a smile. "Wilder was more than happy to accept his retirement."
The Professor stood tall and proud looking over the amulets. A dog eating smile spread across his face. Before picking up Dominators amulet and pocketing in his coat. "Good work my boy, I know I sent the right man on the job. My sources already recovered the remains." The Professor walked around the desk and traced a finger around the pile of amulets. " Titans, are earned. We seek out their power to bolster our own. Of course titans are more than just simple creatures. We bond to them, and we have them as allies." The Professors looked at his son with a Jovial look. "Tell me my boy, do you know why I'm telling you this ?"
Lok could only shake his head, only a confused thought running through his mind. Unless, he thought to himself as he looked back to the Professor. "You mean you're-" he tried to guess before his father simply raised his hand and smiled. "You've earned not just a titan, but the respect of your peers." His Father tossed Lok two titans. "Here you are, Wilder won't be needing them anymore." Lok simply caught the two amulets and looked at them. "Incubane and Grand Facade I believe?" Lok said looking back to his Father. Who simply nodded and grinned. "Although with you killing their master, bonding to them will be quite difficult. However I'm sure you will be fine. "
Lok nodded as he placed them in his pocket. With that he stood straight. "Anything else you need me to do ?" His Father merely went back to his desk and looked over some papers. "Rest and recover, you will have twenty four hours before your next assignment. You will be heading to Venice with Defo, and our latest operative Grier." His father said dismissing the boy.
With a nod he excused him self and left the office. Heading back to his quarters. Pulling out Incubanes amulet he couldn't help but smile. "You don't like me, I get that. Let's try and get along alright ?" The amulet only glowed an angry green. "Oh we are going to get along swell." He couldn't help but laugh out.
Authors notes - welp, that's that for chapter one. Hopefully you've enjoyed the chapter. One of the things I wanted to explain was the cut out fight scene between Lok and Wilder. I will be having fights in the later chapters, but that was a nod to what they did with Sophie and the two suits in episode one. Wanna let me know I did something wrong ? Don't be shy and tell me in the review. Only way I'll get better. Have a good one.
