Universe 7. location; Earth. a space ship came down and landed outside of a large city, before a young men stepped out. he was of average height and build, having long messy black hair which he kept in a ponytail. he was wearing the purple and white galactic patrol uniform. he set his wrist computer to sync up with the time line of this planet, saw the numbers rolling over the screen, before they ended up on; Age 786. April 13. Jerren nodded, before sending a call to his superior, who answered right away. a hologram of Merus appeared above Jerren's wrist. Jerren saluted with his other hand, 'commander, I have arrived on planet earth as commanded. I was told to investigate the situation. but are there any details I need to know about before I get started?' Jerren nodded, 'our scanners have noted a great loss of life in a very little window of time. according to Jacco, a man named Goku had died because, while in space, he caught a dreaded heart virus. in the three years before it took effect and claimed his life, it is possible that he unknowingly infected other people. keep an eye out, scan for the virus and report back with whatever you find. Merus out.' the hologram disappeared and Jerren looked at the nearby city. to keep his ki in reserve, he activated his uniform's rocket boots, hovered off of the ground and flew toward this first location, while activating his scanner to look for traces of that heart virus. the Galactic patrol had found a vaccine for it some time ago, which all members had needed to take. so he wouldn't be infected by it in case he found it. but as he came closer and finally reached the city, he saw that most of the buildings had been damaged. transport vehicles were destroyed. cracks in the roads and scraps of cloth here and there. Jerren frowned; had multiple people started suffering the effects of the virus simultaneously, causing them to lose control of their vehicles? is that what had caused this amount of damage? he scanned for traces of the virus, but found nothing at all. the virus had not caused this. he flew to another city and found that barely any part of the city was still in tact. the damage here was worse than in the last. again no people here and again; no trace of the virus. Jerren checked more and more cities as he flew over the planet and didn't find any traces of the virus, but most cities he did find were destroyed and left in ruins. but the cities that weren't destroyed were even stranger. no damage greater than crashed vehicles. but the weirdest thing was human clothing laying scattered on the ground everywhere, in perfect dress order. as if the whole city had collectively decided to strip and put their clothes down like that. or otherwise; like the people had been sucked out of their clothes. Jerren flew to a mountain top and contacted Merus again. as his commander's hologram appeared, Jerren explained what he had found, the destruction, the abandoned cities, the lack of any virus being detected. and even if he had detected the virus, it would not have been capable of causing such levels of destruction, or weird behaviour in leaving their clothes behind. Merus nodded, 'that indeed is strange. what we need now is information about what has happened. try scanning for survivors. try to find anyone who's able to tell you what has happened on that planet. and when you get the information, report back to me.' Jerren nodded, 'I will sir. but in the meantime, can you find Jacco and tell him not to slack off, as this planet was under his jurisdiction? Merus smiled, 'I have already called him here for a personal meeting, so he can't escape being disciplined. good luck.' Jerren nodded and the transmission ended and Merus his hologram vanished once more. Jerren altered the scanner on his uniform and told it to look for living life forms. though, as that would include animals, he narrowed his target down to humans. as he started scanning his surroundings from one horizon to the next, the results he got; 0. whatever had happened here, no survivors remained. he continued flying, kept his scanner running and he momentarily got a ping. he looked, saw a light blinking a few hundred kilometers from here. he would be there in a few minutes. but before he could increase the thrust capacity of his rocket boots, the light vanished. the life had been snuffed out. still, he flew in the direction, but for a while, not a single light appeared, no life form was found. for a moment, he started to think there were no humans left on this entire planet. Ping! Jerren looked and saw one more life form. they were living in what appeared to be a forest. to make sure he wouldn't lose this one, he set his boots to maximum and rocketed across the skies, before finally landing in front of a small hut, surrounded by trees. the house was the only one standing here. no other building was anywhere in the vicinity, nor were there any other human life forms anywhere near here. but as he took a step closer to the building, a window opened slightly and a shotgun was stuck out and aimed at him. Jerren frowned and remained in place, before an angry high pitched female voice shouted, 'are you with those two monsters?' this one question alone answered many of his questions. two monsters had been responsible for the loss of life on this planet. he shook his head, 'I am not ma'am. I was send here to investigate what caused the loss of life. but I found no one who could tell me what happened, until now.' the window opened and an old woman named Chichi showed her face.
Chichi walked to the door, still keeping her gun aimed at the stranger before her. she still did not fully trust this stranger. but he did not look like the two monsters who had killed most of her friends. his clothes were strange. meanwhile Jerren looked at her. despite the grey in her hair and her wrinkles, he was sure he had seen this woman somewhere before, before he remembered Jaco's presentations of that one good Saiyan. he thought a moment, before exclaiming, 'you're miss Chichi. husband to the legendary Son Goku.' Chichi frowned, 'how do you know my late husband?' she raised her gun to his face, at which Jerren raised his hand, 'I am a member of the Galactic patrol. a patroller who was stationed to watch over Earth, Jaco, kept an eye on him. he witnessed his heroics. fighting the Pilaf Gang as a child. taking on the red ribbon army, squaring off with King Piccolo and his offspring. facing other saiyans, even giving his life once and coming back stronger. than, what made him a legend in the Galaxy, he bested Emperor Frieza. and when that tyrant came to earth with his father, he slayed them both. and later even dealt with Frieza's brother Cooler. it was a shame to hear he passed away. he was an inspiration to many.' Chichi, hearing this young man recollect her husbands great deeds, his end and the respect for him, brought a tear to her eye. she lowered her gun as she tried to wipe the tears away, 'you,... you may come inside. better to not be out in the open for too long.' Jerren nodded and followed her into the small house. it was nothing fancy, a kitchen, an eating table and a couch. but mostly pictures of Chichi when she was younger. and in each frame Goku could be seen. and some pictures even had their son Gohan in the frame. Chichi walked by all the frames, stroking her fingers over his form with a nostalgic smile, 'my Goku. my hero since I was a child. he was a bit strange, obsessed with fighting and getting stronger. but he loved me. in his own way. he cared for his friends and would do everything he could to keep them safe. had he lived, none of this would be happening right now!' Jerren looked around, before seeing a lone staff resting against a wall, kept polished and shining, as if it was brand new. but from the stories he recognized it as Son Goku's fabled power pole, able to extend incredibly far and with his strength deliver massive damage, 'what an amazing weapon he wielded. I could put this to good use. may I have it?' Chichi looked up from the pictures, before stomping over to him with anger in her eyes. she shoved the gun under his chin and pinned him to the wall, 'how dare you ask that?! this staff is the last thing I have that belonged to my husband! you may not be one of those two monsters, but you are your own king of monster! what kind of sicko asks an old widow for the last memento of her dearly departed husband?!' Jerren had raised his hands again and saw why Jaco had referred to Chichi as a scary lady in some stories, 'I am sorry ma'am. I was just focused on possible fights to come. but you are right. I should not have asked. I have no right. please forgive me.' Chichi's anger melted away and was replaced by sadness as she stroked the pole, 'my Goku was such an amazing martial artist. trained, powerful, humble, fun loving. and such an apatite.' she pulled the gun out from under his chin as she walked to the table and sat down. Jerren carefully walked around the table and slowly sat down, 'excuse me miss Chichi. you mentioned two monsters earlier, thinking I was one of them. could you tell me about them. I might be able to stop them, if I know what I'm looking for.' Chichi gave him a sceptical look, 'you? take on those two monsters? in your dreams maybe.' she took a deep breath, before sighing, 'oh very well. why not. they appeared out of nowhere some years ago. two humanoid machines. a black haired boy and a blond haired girl. or maybe I should say teenagers. by this time, my husband had died to that heart virus. so the others tried to fight them. and they failed.' Chichi scratched her nails over the table, 'they killed Yamcha. they killed Krillin. they killed Piccolo, which means Kami died, meaning no more dragon balls. they killed Tien Shinhan and that jerk Vegeta. it left Bulma to raise their son on her own, but she managed. although I haven't seen my son, Gohan, in some time now. he's the only one who's been fighting back. sometimes I fear he has been injured,... or that he too has died to those monsters. when those monsters no longer got any challenge from powerful fighters,... they started going to town. Literally.' Chichi smashed her fist onto the table, 'and in those towns they started playing sick games! which of them could kill the most people. which of them could destroy the most buildings! more killing. more death, more destruction! more more more! it never ends. for years they went, going over the entire world. and no one was powerful enough to stop them. they take what they want, when they want and no one can stop them. the army has tried, but none of their weapons worked. you say you might be able to do something? from the last news on the radio I heard a young man that turned golden had appeared. my Gohan could become a super Saiyan, just like his father! and those monsters are still around. you think you can do something?' Jerren frowned a moment, super saiyan, from what Jaco had observed and what their scanners had told them, it was a 50 times boost in power. and something like that was not enough for a trained fighter to beat them. but this did not answer one more question. he cleared his throat, 'as I was looking around, I indeed found some of the destruction you mentioned. but I also found cities that were still whole. but the strange thing was that all the clothes people wore in order from top to bottom lay on the ground. as if the people disappeared out of them. do you think that was also one of their horrible games?' Chichi looked up in surprise and disgust, but frowned, 'that does not sound like them. they're all about killing and destroying. stripping people and putting their clothes on the ground, that doesn't sound like them.' Jerren nodded, 'thank you for your time miss Chichi. I will leave soon, see if I can find these android monsters you spoke of. and try to find out what happened in those other towns.' he stood up from the table, but Chichi quickly shot up herself, 'wait a moment. please sit down. it's been so long since I had visitors. so long since I cooked for someone. please sit down. have a meal,... to keep your strength up. I don't know how long it will take until those monsters find me. so please, let me do this for you.' Jerren hesitated a moment, but sat down again, 'very well. while you cook, I will inform my superior about the information you gave me. maybe he'll send reinforcements, or has plans for what to do.' Chichi smiled, an actual smile for the first time. she nodded and hopped over into the kitchen. as Jerren called Merus and watched his hologram appear, he told him everything. meeting Chichi, Son Goku's wife. and how she had told what had happened to this planet. how slowly, bit by bit, those two androids had killed almost everyone on the planet. but she had no idea what had caused the disappearances of the people who had left their clothes behind. Merus took in all the information and would need time to process all of that and discuss it with his superiors, whether they would send a large amount of troops to find these androids, something that could be dangerous as no scanners would be able to find them, since they did not emit a life sign or any traceable levels of energy. but with them being strong enough to handle a super saiyan would require some careful strategizing. he asked for a little time, but promised to be back with news as soon as possible. in the meantime, Chichi finished her first course, which was already a full course meal on its own. Jerren thanked her and told her that that would be enough. Chichi nodded, understanding, this young man wasn't a saiyan after all, meaning he didn't have even half of their appetite.
as Jerren left Chichi's house and flew off again, Merus called him again. as his hologram appeared, Merus spoke, 'decisions are hard to make. some doubt that the monsters described are androids as you said. I explained to them that since no energy signals could be found, they had to be machines. and since their visual descriptions are those of human teenagers, they had to be androids, but some remained stubborn. but as I explained that they could fight against a legendary super Saiyan and survive, actions was refused by most.' Jerren nodded, 'understandable I guess. but thinking about it, sending a large force would likely result in mass casualties. when the Galactic patrol tried that against Frieza, it failed. he just overpowered them on his own. and the way these androids are described, with Frieza and his father being bested by a super saiyan while together and these androids being able to fight against one, sending an army would result in a massive loss of life.' Merus nodded, 'so, what are you planning on doing?' Jerren thought about it, 'from what I heard, everyone tried to fight them head on. whether alone or in a group, they failed. so, I'll try to find these monsters and lure them into a trap. having been inspired by Son Goku, I have trained as hard as I can to reach his level. watching the footage of his fight, the hologram training room, the hours, days, weeks, months and years I have put into my training, I would like to think I might be on his base level. using that and hit and run tactics might be able to widdle them down. at least until I find a weak spot I can take advantage of.' Merus nodded, 'very well. but do be careful. you are one of the Galactic patrol's strongest members. we can't afford to lose you. since this is related to androids,... don't let this become personal.' Jerren frowned, 'so, you think doctor Gero has something to do with this?' Merus sighed, 'I am not sure. but he made android 21. your former partner and apprentice. and Gero was from Earth. if these are indeed androids, this might all come back to him.' Jerren scowled, 'if that monster has anything to do with this,... I,... will try,... to remain calm.' Merus nodded, 'good. but, how will you go about finding them? as androids, they don't produce any energy for you to trace.' Jerren nodded, 'if those monsters are still busy with their disgusting game of killing people and destroying cities, I will simply scan the entire planet for cities where there are still people. even hidden, our scanners will find them.' Merus nodded and ended the call, wishing him good luck once more. as Jerren scanned the entire planet, he was shocked by what he found. only a few thousand people were still alive. they lived spread apart, but in large enough groups that he could track and find them. he started flying toward the largest group. as he flew he noticed, nature had been left alone. animals and plants prospered. the androids only seemed interested in killing humans. well, he would put an end to that soon! but just as he thought that, out of nowhere, a massive horrible power roared over the planet. it felt horrifying! Jerren had never sensed anything like that, he couldn't place the nature of this power, nor understand why it was so unbelievably massive. and unfortunately, it was coming from the place he was headed to. checking his scanner, the place he was heading to was in trouble. every few seconds, one more person would disappear. putting his rocket boots into overdrive, he flew as fast as he could without using his ki, making sure that whatever fight this would be, he'd be at full power. he reached the town, but the scanner could not help, nor could his own sense. this power was so enormous that it could come from anywhere in town. meanwhile, he started to hear people screaming and he saw someone running, before he disappeared in a blur. Jerren flew over and looked around a corner, before pulling back, hiding his ki even more than he was by not using it. he had found the source of the horrifying power. it was a massive bug men. he carefully looked around the corner, seeing the monster standing over two meter tall, having an exoskeleton, like a bug, giving him a form of armor. it was dark green with spots, orange and black, while having a somewhat human face, with thick lips. and in each hand, he held a person. the third person was on the end of his long tail, which had a stinger, which was stuck in the fit man's neck. he struggled as much as he could to pull it out. but despite his obvious muscle, he could do nothing. he was growing weaker. his muscles were deflating, his fat was disappearing, it was horribly to look at. but this monster seemed to be sucking the man dry from the inside. but than, the skin of the man and even his skeleton were sucked in, leaving only the clothes behind, which dropped to the ground. after the man, the monster stuck his tail into a young woman's side next, with the same thing happening to her. she screamed for help for a few seconds, but than too she was gone. the last person, a fat man, took a bit longer to be absorbed, but it wasn't any less gruesome. it might have even been more so, as the man screamed for help. the monster walked to the other side of the alley, before taking a deep breath, before shouting, 'EIGHTEEN! I KNOW YOU'RE OUT THERE! I WILL FIND YOU! NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES.' Jerren covered his ears as the monster's yell had cracked concrete. eighteen, like twenty-one, an android. as the monster flew off, Jerren called Merus.
Jerren informed Merus about the monster he had encountered and that it was looking for an android named 18. he had seen it suck people up. and while slight and difficult to detect, it did seem to grow stronger as it did. by way of the old Frieza force scouters, he'd guess maybe by levels of 5 to 15, depending on how strong or weak the human was. and if this monster was after this 18, which he guessed was an android, if it wanted to absorb this android which could fight a super saiyan, than it might increase in power. Merus agreed with that assessment, but Jerren wasn't quite done. he remembered how Chichi had mentioned that two androids had been the monsters that wreaked havoc. but this monster called for only one android, not a second. either the second android had already been destroyed,... or this monster had already absorbed it. and now it wanted to do the same with the 18th model. Merus nodded, 'both options are possible. try to stay away from that monster if possible, don't let it get a hold of you, or you might be drained as well.' Jerren nodded and stopped his communication. the monster had flown away in one direction, so he flew to another, using just his boots. he didn't know for sure if this monster could sense energy, but if it could, he wouldn't make it easy for the beast to find him. as he flew, he thought it quite likely for this beast to be able to sense energy, as it went after cities with a still living population in order to increase its power. but since androids did not produce any energy that could be sensed, it seemed the monster was getting angry that it couldn't find this 18. as he flew further, he found himself above a crumbling mountain range with some large holes in it,... and a rusted over door that was lying on the floor. Jerren dove down, flipped over and landed on his feet as he cancelled his jets. as he looked inside what might have been once an ordinary and naturally formed cave, he found it filled with some impressive technology. especially for a planet like Earth. he took a step forward and walked into the cave, taking some pictures of the machines, whether they were old and rusted, destroyed or, surprisingly, still working. he send these pictures with a small note to HQ, telling them they could possibly send some grunts down here to quire this technology, as it might be able to enhance their own. as Jerren looked at the multiple screens, machines for multiple different uses and what seemed to be an operating table of sorts, it seemed like he was in a laboratory of sorts. as he carefully checked each and every machine, he was surprised to find some pods were filled. old shabby robot, or android, prototypes. one had the number 9 on it and had what seemed to be a boxer inside. other androids were either in pieces, or missing. the pod labelled 19 and 20 were completely empty, as were both the pods of 17 and 18. but, as he found them, he found something lying in front of both pods that stood apart from the others. it looked humanoid and bore the red ribbon army logo,... but it was missing its head. as well as its right hand. and it also had a hole in its side. if this hadn't been an android,... each individual injury would certainly have been a cause for death. Jerren looked around, before finding some pieces lying together. as he walked over, he scowled, finding what looked like a brain in a jar, mechanical bits and pieces and,... what seemed to be synthetic skin. he frowned as he picked them up and pulled them together in what should be a human face, before scanning for a match. and he found on that matched for 80% as the rest was missing; it was doctor Gero. so, he had turned himself into an android,... but which number had he been? had he been 17? he noticed there were some old security cameras. they had long since stopped working, but if they had worked back in the day,... than maybe he could? he stepped up to the screen and activated the computer. it still worked. the screen turned on, but it asked for a password. he thought a moment. what password would Gero have. it could be anything,... but Jerren remembered meeting android 21 and the things she had told him. if she was right about Gero being a sentimental old fool. so he typed down; Vomi-And-Gevo. to his surprise, he was granted access. it had just been his first guess, but it seemed the old doctor still cared for his wife and son. he looked through the security footage and found the last day that any people had been caught on camera before the cameras died. he looked at the last 5 minutes what he saw he was also filming, sending this as a message to HQ and Merus. the old man was typing away at something, as what looked to be two teenagers, or adolescents, walked up behind him. a young man with black hair and a young woman with blond hair. both having equally blue eyes. they talked to doctor Gero about something, rummaging through some of his paperwork and making a mess. as he reached for what seemed to be a remote, aiming it at the blond, the young man grabbed him from behind by his wrist before punching straight through his chest, before ripping his hand clean off. the blond stepped on and destroyed the remote, before the black haired one pulled his hands back and kicked his head off, before the blond stomped on it. the two walked out, leaving the lab a mess while burning the paperwork. Jerren frowned and started playing earlier security footage, showing him working on both the androids that would later kill him. the young man was 17 and the young woman was 18. but, looking at in between, the other bits which Jerren fast forwarded, he seemed to be working on a new project. less mechanical,... more biological. a body of muscles, flesh and bone, programmed to function. Jerren copied all that he could and send most of the footage to HQ, so maybe they could use any of this. but, at some points in the footage, Gero went where there were no cameras, always when he was alone, returning some hours later. he went deeper into the cave. Jerren looked around the cave, seeing where Gero had been sitting before his androids had turned on him and from there, walked to the point where he disappeared off camera. and what he found was a turn in the cave and a rock wall. he tilted his head, looking around at the walls, searching for some form of secret panel that might hide a secret compartment of some sort. for he doubted that Gero would walk around a corner and do nothing for hours. he softly placed his hands on the walks, before finally sensing an air current behind one of the walls. he wanted to blow a hole in the wall, but remembered the monster. even if they were far away, it was likely it could still sense a blast from him over such a wide distance. especially since all other life forms had such low levels of power. he finally found a panel that seemed to be rusted shut. but with a flick of his wrist he tore it open, before finding the panel he was looking for. but it required a code of 4. he tried Vomi again. but this time it failed. Gevo; failed again. Gero; also failed. he called Merus, telling him about his progress and he on his side had found something as well. with the footage he had shared and send, the researchers in the HQ had zoomed in and had found the name of the final project the doctor was working on; CELL. Jerren typed it in and a doorway opened, showing a deep drop down to a deeper part of the lab, maybe even to the heart of the mountain. Jerren dropped down, using his boots to hover, before finally landing on the ground in a barely lit sub lab. its walls were heavily fortified, the technology even more impressive than what the old android had upstairs. Jerren shot pictures of this as well, before looking at an empty container in the middle. it was different from the ones upstairs, was made of some reinforced glass yet it had a hole in it. and lying next to it was a cocoon of sorts. a human sized cocoon of a large larva. the monster; Cell, was Gero's final creation. and shining a light on the back wall, he saw a large hole there.
Jerren looked around the lab, being rather impressed. this guy, doctor Gero, had earth level technology to work with, but managed to put it together into such high tech machines. his abilities to code programs and enhance people into androids, even making himself into an android. somewhere Jerren was happy this guy had stayed on earth, only working with earth tech. imagining what that guy would have been capable of if he had access to more advanced tech like the Galactic patrol or what the Frieza force worked with. he shuddered at the thought, as that would have meant danger not just for one planet, but possibly for the galaxy. reaching a desk with even more large papers with intriguing drawings with in depth explanations, Jerren took pictures of each, as this was what project Cell seemed to be up until the point that 17 and 18 had killed the doctor. Jerren didn't get much of too advanced techno talk, but he was impressed by how much work this man put into his work. impressed, taken aback, and a little freaked out. Cell was a biological android, DNA given form through code. continuing to look at it, flipping to a next page, he saw pictures of others. he saw many people, under the label of; DNA donors. though he doubted these people had given their DNA willingly. it was likely that their DNA had been taken. and it had been taken from Goku. and the text next to it described how even his Ki had been incorporated, along with muscle build and even some of his thought patterns. next up was Vegeta, the prince of the Saiyans. shorter in stature, but close to rivalling Goku in power, at least during their first time, according to Jacco. his shorter stature meant he had a denser muscle build, which had been incorporated, along with a certain level of pride, as well as his Ki. the next Saiyan was Nappa, a former servant to Vegeta, a big bruiser, though not much for true power or brains. though his big body held a lot of muscle and his Saiyan body was the oldest, most experience. this experience had been incorporated along with his Ki. next was the fourth and final Saiyan; Raditz, Goku's brother. his tall stature and Ki had been incorporated, but also his thought pattern, mostly his survival instinct. again Jerren was impressed how much doctor Gero had been able to do, build and code with earth tech. if he had not seen the monster in that town, than he would have believed that these plans were just dreams, not reality. Jerren flipped to the next page and found the next list of people who's DNA had been taken; Piccolo, a Namekian. his different physical make-up had been incorporated, along with his calm aggression and fighting style. but most importantly; his self regeneration. this stopped Jerren for a moment; Saiyans when they were heavily injured and healed up, they would grow stronger. if Cell had both Saiyan and Namekian DNA, than he had that ability to rapidly increase his power. so to stop him, he would need to be destroyed thoroughly. next up was Tien Shinhan, a human warrior, suspected to be a normal earthling. though for some reason he had a third eye which functioned normally. he was a highly skilled fighter with impressive physical techniques. he could produce a second set of arms and could produce a powerful blast of energy from his eyes when focused through a triangle made with his hands; the tri beam. Yamcha, human, a trained and experienced combatant, was not seen as a threat, but had an impressive amount of control over his ki and was impressive for a human. the final human was Krillin, he was the shortest of all the combatants and was trained as both a monk and was trained by Goku's master. his power and fighting ability were on the level of Tien and his control greater than Yamcha's. due to his short stature, he focused more on his battle technique over his raw power. and this had helped him win several battles. Jerren frowned; the eight that had been listed so far were all powerful in their own right, all had their own fighting style and their own techniques. and this Cell seemed to have them all. their Ki, techniques and fighting styles. as he flipped to the next page, he was shocked to see the final two applicants who's DNA had been taken; Frieza. the former emperor had ended as part of a lab experiment. his alien physiology and natural battle power, along with his ability to survive in a vacuum were great assets. but even more so was their ability to survive gruesome injuries. and adding to Frieza's DNA was that of his father; King Cold. a powerhouse in his own right. some said he was just as strong if not stronger than Frieza. more of the same kind of DNA, but certainly an extra boost in power and survivability. this, combined with the Namekian ability to heal gruesome injuries and the Saiyan's ability to get stronger when healed; this Cell monstrosity would have the potential for enormous power. seeing the next page, Jerren saw old photos that had been taken years ago and saw that Gero had been keeping an eye on Goku for a long time. from at least the 22 world martial arts tournament. at least everyone on earth had their DNA collected. when Goku's brother arrived, he was next, followed by the last two Saiyans who arrived a year later. and than, a little over a year after that, Frieza and his father showed up, but than was when his surveillance and DNA gathering bugs had been destroyed. Jerren flipped to the next page and found the body schematics of both 17; Lapis, and his twin sister 18; Lazuli. Jerren took a picture of this as well. all this info would be useful for the patrol; this info would be put to good use. if their scientists could replicate this kind of tech with their superior level of technology, than even better bio androids could be made to help protect the universe. their infinite energy engines gave them Ki above a level of a super saiyan and their power would never run out. they would never tire or need to rest. but as he flipped to the next page, Jerren was shocked. not only could he see the detailed make-up of Cell's combined DNA, what muscle groups were placed where for optimal use, but he also saw how 17 and 18 were incorporated into the build. their DNA had not been taken, but Cell had been build with a tail, like Jerren had seen, not only to absorb bio-mass, but also to absorb them; completely. but especially both their infinite energy engines. with both of them absorbed, Cell would become what doctor Gero called; perfect. Jerren took pictures of the last bits of info, before breathing out in a sigh. thinking logically, Cell had been screaming for 18. and with the enormous energy he had sensed that had been growing, he could only guess that 17 had already been absorbed. and if thoughts could be taken, coded and programmed, than Jerren had a suspicion that in all the coding talk, there would be something that would mention Cell being coded with the task to absorb 17 and 18 in order to become; perfect. as he started walking away from all the paperwork, he noticed there was another pod in this laboratory. and it was large. over two meter. Jerren stepped up to it and saw the number 16 on the pod. Jerren looked inside and saw a giant android inside it, deactivated and eyes closed. but it had red hair reminding him somewhat of 21. Jerren was wondering; why would Gero put one of his earlier androids in the same sub lab where he kept his ultimate project? but, remembering his computer's pass word, remembering android 21, Gero's former wife; Vomi. he looked at the giant; 'Gevo?' again, Jerren took pictures and was about to send a message to Merus, when he heard sounds coming from the pod. Jerren looked at it, but the pod was still inactive. the android inside was still inactive. Jerren stepped up to it, before noticing the pod was not tightly placed against the wall. stepping up closer to it, he looked into the darkness behind it, before finding one light blue eye looking at him. slowly Jerren reached for his blaster, 'okay, I've seen you. you can come out now.' Jerren took a few steps back as the pod with android 16 in it was lifted up, moved forward and put aside. and out walked a young woman with neck length blond hair, torn clothes, some dirt on her skin and a cold expression, 'android 18?' having reached for his blaster, he now pulled and aimed it, 'put your hands up! you're under arrest for terrorizing planet Earth!' she calmly looked at the weapon in his hand, 'do you expect me to be afraid of a gun? you some kinda cop? my brother and I pulled tricks on your kind before that freak turned us into androids. do you think your bullets will have any effect on me?' she took a step forward, before he blasted her, knocking her against the wall. as well as shooting a hole in her top; showing her belly. she jumped up, angrily looking at him, but this time he aimed for her head, 'I said; put your hands up, android 18 or Lazuli, I don't care what name you listen to; you are under arrest!' the android blinked a moment in confusion at hearing the name, 'Lazuli,... I was once called that. that,... used to be my name. I guess the old coot wrote it down somewhere.' Jerren frowned, 'last warning, put your hands up or I'll shoot you again!' she frowned, crossing her arms, 'you knocked me against the wall and tore my outfit. that toy of yours didn't hurt. so go ahead, shoot me. it won't harm me.' the two stood there for a moment, looking silently at each other, but neither made a move. Jerren scowled, 'you killed all the people you could find, just for fun! yet now you don't attack? why? did that monster Cell scare you straight or something?!' 18's face shifted from cold indifference to surprise, than to shock, followed by fear, 'what he did to 17, what he wants to do to me; suck me up into his tail! I don't want that. I don't want to die. luckily he won't come looking for me at the place where he himself has been created.'
Jerren frowned at the android, 'your brother, what happened to him?' 18 looked at him, her eyes going cold again, 'why should I tell you? what's my brother matter to you any way?' Jerren looked back equally as cold, 'you say Cell absorbed him. with his tail. did he poke him? that's what I have seen him do to humans.' 18 clicked her tongue, but her lip trembled. just the mention of Cell send shudders down her likely mechanical spine. Jerren shrugged, 'okay, if you don't want to talk about your brother, that's fine. how about instead, we talk about Cell? how long has he been hunting you?' 18 shook her head, 'no! I don't want to talk about that monster! I just want to stay here and hide! for nineteen years, my brother and I had no opposition! we were stronger than anyone! no one could stop us. we could do anything we wanted, go anywhere we wanted! the two who could go blond were amusing to play with from time to time, but after my brother and I killed the older of the two, there was not much fun with only the weaker of the two remaining. we spared his life, just so we could rough him up some when he attempted to stop us. sixteen years in which my brother and I were king and queen of the planet!' Jerren frowned, 'so, a king and queen who delighted in killing their subjects? petty tyrants! pitiful androids thinking themselves untouchable. but you weren't; were you?' 18 growled at him, 'we were! from the day my brother and I were awakened with these bodies, with this power; we were invincible! no one could stop us. not the guy with three eyes! not the guy with messy black hair. not the tiny bald one; a cutie by the way. even the big green one and the egomaniac with pointy black hair; roadkill after clashing with us!' Jerren nodded, 'well, your majesty, you have chosen quite the palace! hiding like a coward!' 18 opened her right hand, charging up an energy blast. Jerren raised his blaster, 'try it. Cell may not sense your energy, but start blasting and that might change!' the ball evaporated faster than someone blinking. her fear had returned. she shook her head and turned her back to Jerren, 'no! no no no! that thing can't capture me. I don't want that to happen to me! I didn't want that to happen to my brother!' Jerren kept his blaster aimed at her, 'go on. what happened? guessing this is the first conversation you've had in a while. talking to others about your problems can help. take a load of your chest.' 18 looked at Jerren, her fear being mixed with a hint of sadness, before she sat down on the desk, 'oh fine. if you want to have nightmares for days on end as well, than listen up! it happened three days ago! my brother and I had just chosen a game of who could shoot the most cars in under a minute, than that monster showed up.' 'it introduced itself as Cell, calling itself our brother, telling us we were siblings and that doctor Gero had wanted us to be together. my brother and I chose a new game, whoever could kill the bug first would be the winner.' 'we attacked together, launched a barrage of blasts, bashed, kicked and hit it as hard as we could, but our attacks, for the first time ever, had no effect. we did no damage to it! 17, eager as ever, rushed in ahead, while I tried to attack it from behind. but than it had us! it kicked backwards, grabbing my face with its clawed foot and swung me into my brother. and keeping me pinned like that, it used its tail to grab my brother. the stinger on its end opened up, wide! ever seen a snake eat something? it was like that, but worse. the stinger enclosed around 17 and started sucking him in, taking his body in whole!' 18 shed a single tear, 'I heard my brother scream, saw him try to fight back. I was struggling to get that foot off of my face, while 17 was sucked up further and further, to his shoulders, to his elbows, to his waist, to his knees, his ankles and than he was gone. one big form in his tail, sliding into that monster's upper back, just as I managed to use all the power I had to blast his foot off of me and get away. Cell, that monster, started glowing, screaming in joy, before he started growing, bigger, broader! he had taken in my brother and all the power he had. that horrible smile remained, but this time coming from those fat lips!' Jerren frowned, 'how is that supposed to give me nightmares?' 18's anger returned, '17 was my brother! my twin. we had been together our entire lives! and to see it just, snuffed out, sucked up, by some monster, who said he wanted to do the same to me; that's what causes nightmares! the thought of me being sucked up in that slimy tail, losing myself; to die! imagine seeing someone you care for die in front of you and the one that killed them wouldn't rest until they had done the same to you!' Jerren remained cold, 'oh, really? you mean like the defenders of earth? the ones you trounced like, what did you call them? roadkill? and than, the people of earth, who ran in fear and terror everywhere you went. and you killed them, just for fun. people ran in fear for the two of you, knowing you would not rest until you had killed everyone in that town, city or at whatever place you found them. so, I do not feel any sympathy toward you. you killed the people of earth for your own sick selfish sense of fun! and now a monster is after you, trying to end your life and you expect compassion? how about you regret your sins first? reflect on every life you ended! regret those actions from your very core! than maybe, you'll get some compassion from me.' 18 sighed, 'you wanted me to put my hands up. are you gonna arrest me?' Jerren nodded, 'yes. you should thank me for this magnanimous offer.' 18 frowned, 'why?' Jerren smirked, 'I have been hiding my energy ever since coming to this planet, only using machines to get around. Cell shouldn't have sensed me yet. so, since he can't sense you; this is our chance to get out of here, get you off the planet! you'll be safe. you'll be in a jail cell, but that monster won't be able to get you.' Lazuli sighed, 'alright; I surrender.' she put her hands up and had Jerren guide her out of the sub lab and back up to the main lab. Jerren send the last info he gathered, as well as a recording of 18's story to the HQ. with Gero's technical knowledge and their better technology, as well as the blue prints of cell, they might be able to make improvements to soldiers to keep the galaxy even safer. but as they reached the entrance, 18 stopped walking and Jerren nearly bumped into her. but, before he could ask her why she stopped, he could see it, standing just outside the lab where the door used to be, stood Cell, with a vicious smirk on his face, 'my my, you are good kid. you keep your energy hidden well. but, with all the abilities and training in me, along with my level of power, I can sense every living being on this planet. I was wondering what power I might find in you, yet I find 18!'
Android 18 stood frozen in fear, seeing the monster stand before her. her knees were shaking, while her feet were rooted to the ground, while her lip quivered. she remembered what this monster had done to her brother, so vividly. even more than when she had told this patroller guy about it a moment ago. Cell grinned broadly, taking a step forward and raising his tail, which opened up, 'playing hide and seek is over sister. you managed to hold out for three days, but now I have found you. and having come across cities you and our brother hadn't destroyed yet, I found quite some delicious snacks. but now, it's time for perfection.' 18 shook her head, 'no, I can't become a part of you! just the thought's making me sick!' Cell stopped walking, 'don't you want to be reunited with your brother? He's in me, just like doctor Gero wanted us to be. he designed us for this. together, like a family!' 18 took a trembling step back and Cell grinned broadly again, 'last time you got lucky when you managed to escape. but this time, I'm not taking my eyes off of you!' Jerren cleared his throat, 'excuse me, mister Cell, I just read through the files about you and how doctor Gero made you, is it true you can use the moves of all the Z fighters?' Cell, distracted for a moment, looked at Jerren, 'I can. why? would you like to be used for target practice? do you want to die by Kamehameha? Gallick Gun? Destructo Disk? Wolf Fang Fist? Tri Beam? special beam cannon? Death beam or Death Ball?' Jerren cleared his throat, 'you said Tri beam. but, from the knowledge I have gathered, Tien Shinhan had to use his three eyes for that. you can use it too, despite not having a third eye?' Cell now glared at him, 'I have the knowledge of all the techniques that everyone in me ever used. third eye or not, I can use it! now 18! your choice! is it ladies first, or would you like me to suck up your boy toy first?' 18, who had tried to look for a way of escape while Jerren talked to Cell, but was now snapped back to her fear of the monster, 'she shook her head, 'I don't want to be absorbed! I can't become a part of you!' she shot up into the sky, trying to fly away, only for Cell to instantly appear in front of her in the sky, he flew extremely fast! he brought his tail down and she flew straight into it! Jerren shot up, while Cell was preoccupied with his joy. Jerren charged his gun with his own ki, grabbed the tail with all his might, squeezing it shut, before blasting it. the tail broke in half and the absorption was interrupted. Jerren grabbed android 18 and flew back to the ground, only for Cell to blitz by them and land in front of them, his smile now gone, 'you try to stop me from becoming perfect! maybe I should absorb you first, than you can't get in the way any more!' Jerren raised his hands, 'I am sorry mister Cell, but there's something you don't know. doctor Gero had plans for you, things he couldn't program into you because of his untimely demise. don't you wish to know what he wanted for you when you reached your final form?' Cell stopped for a moment, thinking. he had been following the programming his maker to become perfect, but what if his maker had wanted more for him? had this guy read something. he raised his injured tail, before growing a new one in a second, 'no tricks! you try anything, you die!' android 18 pulled the part of Cell's tail off of herself, and looked at the horrific scene. she had no idea what was going to happen. but if he distracted this monster again, maybe she could,... Cell raised a finger and send a kid blast soaring by her head, destroying the remained of the mountain and the entire lab with it, 'no moving 18! this might be of interest to you as well!' she gulped and didn't move a muscle, while Jerren still held his hands up. Cell nodded at him, 'well, speak!' Jerren nodded, 'yes, of course. so, you know about all the DNA in you, all the battle experience and powers and abilities, but doctor Gero wanted, more than anything,...' Jerren turned his palms to Cell and closed his eyes, 'SOLAR FLARE!' a blinding flash was send out. Cell, paying close attention, was hit fully and was blinded by it, 'YOU BASTARD!' he send out a massive ki blast to where he sensed Jerren. he grabbed Lazuli by her right arm, placed two fingers on his forehead and concentrated on where he had parked his space ship. the next moment, he vanished, using instant transmission! and, taking android 18 with him, the blast missed both of them completely. Jerren pulled android 18 with him, into the ship while she looked dumbfounded, 'how did we get here? where's that monster?' Jerren jumped into the driver's seat, 'I'll explain in a moment. first we need to get out of earth's atmosphere!' his space ship rocketed away, shooting into space. here, Jerren explained about the technique he had learned on a planet named Yardrat, instant transmission. so long as he could focus of a certain spot, he could teleport there instantly. Jerren flew fast, while contacting HQ, letting Merus know that he had arrested Android 18, but there was still the problem of Cell. 18 looked at him, 'why is he still a problem? we're in space and he's on earth, right?' Jerren shook his head, 'if he didn't have Frieza or Cold's DNA, that would be true. but those two can survive in a vacuum. so we need to get out of the range of his senses, fast!' little did Jerren know at the time, that help had arrived back on earth. having showed up through the use of a time machine, Trunks had returned from the past, where he had even encountered the perfect version of Cell, not to mention, stronger versions of the androids than in his own dystopian future. sensing Cell, stronger than ever, he rocketed over and found him in his Semi Perfect form. but if he could have beaten the stronger version of this one in the past, with all the training he had been doing, this wouldn't be a challenge. Cell rubbed the pain out of his eyes, the blinding had temporarily blocked his senses. he suspected the stranger had taken 18 with him and they had flown away. or, the two of them had split up, so his search for her would take even longer. but, as his sight returned to him, standing in front of him was, '... Trunks Briefs? dressing up in daddy's old armor? don't you feel like a big man. what're you doing here? shouldn't you be hiding in a corner, sucking your thumb because my siblings kicked your butt again?' Trunks smirked, 'hello Cell. I see you've reached your Semi-perfect form. so, you've managed to absorb android 17 and are now looking for android 18. I don't know where she is, but once I find her, I'll turn her into scrap metal! but, before that, I'll be destroying you! it doesn't much matter in which order I wipe you out!' Cell stood dumbfounded. how did this little whelp know that about him and even recognize this new form. they hadn't met before now! how did this snot nose little punk even know his name, or his objective! but than he remembered, those small rumors, the whispers he had heard; how Bulma Briefs had build a time machine so someone could go into the past and change the present. but he didn't think anything had changed. than again, who knew how time travel really worked?! he grinned, 'so, you went back and learned about me in the past! well, not much good that will do you. you weren't a match for even one of the androids, while I was, before absorbing android 17! a little punk like you will serve as nothing but a light snack, before I continue my hunt for 18!' Trunks smirked, 'we'll see about that. since I did a lot more than just learn about you!' in the blink of an eye, he turned super Saiyan, before bulking up further and his hair grew spikier. Cell took a step back in surprise, before smiling, 'sacrificing speed for strength? I can do that too you know?' Trunks nodded, 'I know you can, but for you, I wouldn't recommend it!' before Cell could do anything else, even say another word, he got treated to a knuckle sandwich, which knocked him through two mountains, the second collapsing on top of him. the debris exploded a few seconds later and Cell flew out, enraged. his thick lips were even more puffy and bleeding. he had no idea how Trunks had done what he just did. he was no match for one of the androids! that's what absorbing android 17 had revealed to him. he, Cell, had absorbed 17, had sucked many towns and cities dry, strengthening him further. so this should have been absolutely impossible! Trunks arrived in front of Cell who exploded in anger, launching himself at him. before Cell was even halfway to Trunks, he got kneed in the stomach, followed by an elbow to the back of his head, which knocked him down to the ground. Cell drawled back onto his hands and feet, before Trunks landed on his back, heavily, driving his heels into his spine and forcing Cell through the bedrock. Trunks blasted him even deeper while he himself flew into the air again. Cell grew infuriated, this should be absolutely impossible. the only thing he could think of, Trunks had somehow trained while he had gone to the past. that was how he had gotten so much stronger. but, he was still part Saiyan! so that might work! he let out an explosion of power, creating a crater around himself, before using Piccolo's power, healing his face, stomach and back, smirking, 'not bad Trunks, you have become strong. I stand no chance! but, wouldn't you prefer a challenge? if I could absorb android 18 and obtain my perfect form, I could give you a real fight!' Trunks smirked, 'yeah, you pulled the same trick on my father in the past! it worked on him, but not on me! but, feel free, try to find her! fly as fast as you want! but know, you won't escape me! I'm going to end you Cell!' Cell took a step back, turned around and wanted to fly, only to run into an uppercut from Trunks. the monster doubled over in pain, before receiving a kick, which launched him up, high into the sky. he got launched high into earth's atmosphere before he was able to stabilize himself. he couldn't allow himself to lose! but, now that he was this high up, he could sense, the stranger from before, he was no longer on the planet. had he somehow escaped Earth in the few seconds he was blind? and with how he had protected android 18, it seemed likely that he had taken her with him. so if that was true, than he no longer needed this planet! he puffed his muscles up as big as he could, increasing his strength and power as much as he could. he wouldn't need speed for this. he put his hands together and aimed for Trunks, 'Kame! Hame! Ha!' he shot out a massive blue wave of energy. Trunks down below smirked, put the back of his right hand in his left hand, charging up his energy, honoring his dad, 'Gallick gun!' the purple wave he released washed away Cell!
