To all my readers-This is the first time that I'm going to do Yugioh without making any character name changes. I want you all to know that my OC Paige Muto is related to Yugi and her looks are based on him. So, think of Paige as a feminine Yugi and Atem. Before anyone asks, yes, I will be doing all 5 seasons of Yugioh and that includes Capsule monsters as well. I was once asked if Paige would be dueling and yes, she will. You wont be able to see her duel until season 2 when Kaiba starts his Battle City Tournament.

If anyone, and I mean anyone tries to rush me while writing this fanfic or any of my other fanfics, all written chapters will be delayed for a week. No exceptions. Leave a positive review and Happy Reading!

I DONT OWN YUGIOH AT ALL! I ONLY OWN THE OC AND HER DUELING DECK!

Shoutouts:

Seagulls were squawking overhead as the ship starts to dock at Duelist Kingdom. "Man, this Duelist Kingdom looks like a pretty big place, Yugi." said Joey. "Finding your grandpa isn't going to be easy."

"Well, we got to start somewhere." said Yugi.

"And suddenly…having a private island won't be on my list anymore." said Paige.

"I thought you always wanted an island." said Yugi.

"You wanted an island?" asked Tea and Tristan.

"Yeah, for Grandpa to retire on and not be held hostage for it." Paige explained. "Now, I got to rework my ideal budget for Grandpa's retirement."

The ship dropped its anchor. "Whoa, check out the suits." said Joey.

"Attention all duelists! Please disembark in an orderly fashion." said a voice over the intercom system.

"Hey Tea, what if one of those security guys find out we're stowaways?" Tristan asked her, panicking. "We better play it safe and swim back."

"We're in the middle of nowhere, lamebrain." said Tea. "If you can just try and act normal, we'll be ok."

All the duelists were getting off the boat and passing the men in suits just as Tristan was talking to himself. "Just act cool. Just act cool." Tristan said to himself. "Cool…. cool as a cucumber…keep it cool."

"Hey, you!" said the suit, causing the group of friends to turn around. "Don't look so nervous, you guys are our guests here."

"That's right. I'm your guest." said Tristan, bowing before catching up to the others and breathing heavily. "I think I just had a heart attack."

"By the looks of it, you were having a panic attack." said Paige.

"Way to play it cool, Tristan. That wasn't suspicious at all." said Tea.

"All right." said Joey, excitedly. "Every single one of us made it here safe and…ah-choo!"

Joey sneezed, causing Tea and Paige to move out of the way. "You would have never caught that cold if it wasn't for Weevil." said Yugi.

[Flashback]

"Say good bye to Exodia!" said Weevil as he threw the cards over the railing and the five cards went into the water.

"My cards!" exclaimed Yugi. "Those were the five Exodia cards that my grandpa gave me."

"I'll get them." said Joey as he jumps overboard.

"Joey!" shouted Paige.

"Joey, don't!" shouted Yugi.

[Flashback ends]

"Speaking of our wormy friend." said Joey as he wipes his nose. "Looks like he slithered his way off the boat and is already looking at starting some trouble. That slime ball, I'd love to wipe that smirk off his face."

"I would too." thought Yugi. "But we don't have time for Weevil right now."

"Don't worry, Joey. I already have something in mind for bug boy." said Paige.

"Welcome all duelists. Please follow the stairs to meet your host." said the suit, directing them to the castle before them.

"That castle's gotta belong to Pegasus." said Yugi.

"Then what are we waiting for." said Joey as he runs past him and Paige. Everyone started climbing the stairs, towards the castle when suddenly Tea looks to the woods. "Huh? What's that?" she asked.

"Huh?"

"What's what?" asked Paige.

"What do you see, Tea?" asked Yugi.

"It looked like, Bakura." said Tea, looking at the others and pointing into the direction.

"Bakura from school?" asked Yugi, following her direction.

"Again with this Bakura stuff." said Tristan.

"What do you 'again'?" asked Paige.

"Where is he, Tea?" asked Joey.

"That's two times that I've seen him now but he's not there anymore." said Tea. "Maybe it's all in my head."

"Come on, we're on a rescue mission, remember?" said Tristan as Bakura comes out from behind the tree, watching as they continued to climb the stairs.

All the duelists gathered in front of the doors of the castle. "Wow, that's Weevil Underwood. He's the regional champion." said one duelist.

"And that's the runner-up, Rex Raptor." said his friend.

"And that's Mako Tsunami." said another duelist. "He was ranked third."

"Wow, these are all the best duelists in the world. But where's the world champion, Kaiba?"

"Didn't you hear? Some kid beat him…on his own turf too."

"Are you serious? Kaiba was the best."

"He was but not anymore."

"Yugi's supposed to be the kid to beat now."

"I just realize that I have a very popular brother." said Paige, looking at Yugi.

"Attention, please gather around." said a suit. "You benevolent host is anxious to greet you all."

Pegasus was heading towards the balcony as the suits bowed to him and his Millenium eye shined as he makes his way. "Boy, what I like to get just five minutes alone with that guy." said Joey as Pegasus makes his presents known.

[Flashback]

"When next we duel, we shall play for far higher stakes." said Pegasus, pulling some of his hair back to reveal the Millenium eye. "You see, I have found that given the proper incentive, anyone can be made to play my game."

A yellow light shoots out of the TV, heading towards Grandpa, causing his soul came out of his body.

"Yugi!" said Grandpa.

"Grandpa!" said Yugi.

[Flashback ends]

"Paige and I are not leaving this island until we save our grandpa. No matter what Pegasus has planned for me." thought Yugi. Pegasus chuckles as he looks down at Yugi and Paige.

"Greetings duelists, I am Maximillion Pegasus." he said to all the duelists. "It is my great honor and pleasure to welcome you all to the duelist kingdom. You stand before me, the world's greatest duelists. But come tournament's end, only one shall be crowned king of games. I implore you all to assemble your dueling decks with care, with creativity and with cunning, for this competition will test your skills like never before. To track your progress in the tournament, you've each been given a dueling glove."

Yugi puts the dueling glove over his right hand. "You've also been given two precious star chips. You must wager these star chips on each duel you compete in. to advance to the final level of competition for a chance at the three-million-dollar prize, you must win ten-star chips." Pegasus explained as he shows them the star chip in his hand. "Ten-star chips will admit you into my castle where you'll face me in one final duel."

"If grandpa's here, I'd bet my dueling glove he's hidden away in that castle. But I'll never get in there with all the guards around." thought Yugi, looking over at the others. "We're just gonna have to win enough star chips to get inside."

"This will be a tournament unlike anything you have ever experienced." said Pegasus, before continuing. "State of the art arenas cover this entire island and intriguing new rules will be in effect. I could tell you what these new rules are, but what fun would that be. You'll discover them as you compete or you won't last very long. Remember, play boldly, think strategically and duel mercilessly. You have one full hour to prepare both your cards and yourselves. When the skies light up with fireworks, the duels will begin."

Everyone started getting excited as Pegasus walks off the balcony. "The duelists have arrived. Yugi has taken the bait and the games are about to begin. Everything goes according to plan." thought Pegasus.

"I gotta win my way into that castle. I just gotta." thought Yugi, making a fist.

Out in the field, Yugi and the others were gathered. "Yugi, I don't know if I can win this thing." said Joey. "Maybe it'd be best if you took your star chip back."

"No, you keep it." said Yugi. "Your little sister is counting on you to win the tournament's prize money for her."

"Thanks, man." Joey replied.

"You can do it. You just got to steer clear of the more experience duelists first." said Tea.

"Exactly." said Paige.

"Yeah, it's just a matter of working your way up." said Tristan.

"Thanks you guys." said Joey, then turns to Yugi. "Well Yugi, between your grandpa and my sister, we don't have any room for mistakes."

"Right." said Yugi. Suddenly the fireworks had shot up into the sky, signaling the beginning of the tournament. "The fireworks! It's starting." exclaimed Tea.

"Let's do it!" said Yugi.

"So, what's your plan, Yugi?" asked Joey as they were walking down a path.

"Well, I might as well stick with Weevil." said Yugi. "After all, we do have a score to settle."

"I was hoping you say that." said Joey.

"Me too." said Paige.

"Isn't that him?" asked Tea as they see him up ahead.

"Weevil?" questioned Yugi, looking up. "Weevil! I challenge you to a duel!"

Instead of answering, Weevil turns around and runs into the forest. "Hey, wait!" shouted Tristan.

"I can't believe it! Weevil's running away." said Joey just as Yugi and Paige take off running. "Hey, wait up."

Weevil starts laughing as he runs through the forest with Yugi, Paige and their friends hot on his tail. Just then, moths flew overhead. "Whoa! Where are all these months coming from?" asked Tristan.

"Ach! They're disgusting." said Tea.

"He's fast for a small guy." said Tristan.

"Maybe you're just slow for a big guy." Tea tells him.

"We're never gonna catch him as long as the whole island and bounds, he'll be running all day." said Joey.

"What's Weevil up to?" Yugi asked himself. "He's wanted to duel with me ever since we met on the boat, so what's he running for? Wait a minute."

"What did he say on the boat?"

[Flashback]

"Everyone will soon learn there are new rules on the island that require more strategies." said Weevil.

[Flashback ends]

"It has something to do with the new rules so I better figure out what and fast." thought Yugi and they finally reached an open field.

"There he is." said Joey.

"Welcome said the spider to the fly." said Weevil as his demeanor changed. "You flew right into my trap. Again!"

"It's time to answer for what you did on the boat, Weevil." said Yugi.

"You will pay for what you did!" shouted Paige.

"YUGIOH!"

"Huh. Alright Weevil, time to find out if you're as good at dueling as you are at running away." said Yugi.

"Was I simply running away or cleverly weaving you into my web?" asked Weevil.

"It's time to duel." said Yugi, causing Weevil to laugh evilly.

"AS YOU WISH!" shouted Weevil and the ground starts to shake.

"It's an earthquake!" Tristan exclaimed.

"An island of this size shouldn't be able to get them." said Paige.

"What have you done?" asked Yugi.

Suddenly the ground opens up, revealing technology underneath. "Whoa, the entire ground is transforming." said Tristan.

"It's gigantic." said Tea as she and Tristan see a duel stadium.

"Man, these aren't going to be like the duels back home." said Joey.

"You can say that again." said Paige.

"You've just stepped into a hornet's nest and there's no way out." said Weevil.

"What is that?" asked Yugi.

"These giant arenas must be set up all over the island." said Joey.

"I'll just meet you on the field." Weevil said to Yugi, then runs to one end of the arena.

"I don't like this." said Joey. "Weevil's a little too cocky."

"He's way too cocky." said Paige.

"I noticed that you only have one-star chip, Yugi. I guess that mean I'll get the pleasure of eliminating you from the tournament." said Weevil. "Once you're gone, everyone else's chips will be easy pickings."

"Not if I take your two first." said Yugi.

"What?!"

"This will be an all or nothing match for the both of us." he tells Weevil.

"Why should I risk both my star chips when you only have one?" asked Weevil.

"Because I have something else, I think you want. My whole duel monsters deck." replied Yugi.

"So…you'd risk your grandpa's deck? Fine by me." Weevil said, grinning. "Winning all your cards will be an easy way to exterminate you once and for all."

"Exterminate?" asked Tea.

"Why that little…." said Paige, wanting to hurt Weevil but Tristan was holding her back.

"Swat that little twerp like a mosquito." said Joey. In the trees, other duelists saw the duel stadium. "Whoa, sounds like a duel is about to start over there." said a boy.

"That's Weevil Underwood, but who's the other guy?" asked his friend.

"That guy is Yugi Muto." said Joey. "He beat Kaiba and I happen to be his best friend, Joey Wheeler." Joey then motions over to Paige, Tristan, and Tea. "And two out of these three are trespassers."

"I'm Paige, Yugi Muto's sister." said Paige, introducing herself as Tea and Tristan went down to the ground.

"I thought I wouldn't be seeing a Weevil/Yugi match up till the finals." said the duelist, as they started gathering around the stadium. "Weevil's the regional champ. No new kid's got a chance against him."

"You obviously don't know my brother well enough." said Paige.

"Well, Yugi. My adoring public is waiting so we should begin." said Weevil.

"Duel!"

Life points on both sides of the field reach to 2,000 and both of them draw their hands. "Let's see how you like my Killer Needle." said Weevil as he places a killer bee monster card on his side of the field with its attack points of 1,200.

"You'll have to get through my Mammoth Graveyard first." said Yugi as a huge skeletal mammoth appears on the field with its attack points of 1,200. "This massive monster will match your annoying insect point for point. Attack!"

The Mammoth charged straight for the insect. "Let's show the Mammoth your stinger! Attack!" ordered Weevil and his Killer Needle went straight for the Mammoth, destroying it.

"No!" shouted Yugi.

"HA! Gone after one sting? He must be allergic." said Weevil, smirking at Yugi.

"I don't get it. Both creatures were evenly matched. It should've been a stalemate." thought Yugi.

"Have you begun to figure out yet why I led you all this way to the forest area?" Weevil asked. "If you just look around then you will see that this area is an exact replica of our surrounding environment. One-part wasteland and one-part forest. And who thrives in the forest? Bugs. The strongest most powerful insects rule the forest so as long as I play my bugs in the forest area, I get a field power bonus. I guess you weren't listening when Pegasus said that this tournament would have exciting new surprises in store for us. Maybe if you were smart enough to steal the tournament's secrets new rules like I did, you'd be getting a field power bonus instead of me."

Suddenly the Killer Needle's attack points went up to 1,560. "He cheated. He led us here cuz he knew he'd had an unfair advantage." said Joey.

"Don't worry, Joey. Weevil will get what's coming to him." said Paige, closing her eyes and crossing her arms.

"Go ahead, call me a cheater." said Weevil. "You're all just angry that you didn't swipe the rules yourselves. And because you didn't, little Yugi is about to get stung."

Yugi starts to laugh at Weevil. "What? How could you be laughing?"

"Because take a look at your ferocious Killer Needle now." said Yugi, causing everyone to look at the monster on the field. It started to glow white and light started to come out, destroying itself. "Oh no, my monster. What have you done with my monster?" asked Weevil, then looks at his monitor. "This makes no sense. My creature was supercharged with a field power bonus but according to this, Yugi's creature became just powerful."

"Looks like my mammoth got a field power bonus from the wasteland area just like your bugs do from the forest." said Yugi.

"The field point advantage was supposed to be mine alone." growled Weevil.

"I kept wondering about something on the boat ride here, Weevil." said Yugi. "Why were we travelling to some remote island just to duel? But as soon as I saw this holographic display grid, it all came together. Every monster has a type of field that it does best on, kind of like a home field advantage and what makes this island so special is that it contains every type of field imaginable. So when you deliberately led us to this spot, you were clearly hoping to get some kind of field advantage."

Weevil growled and started laughing at Yugi. "You're awfully cleaver to put it all together like that, Yugi." said Weevil. "But figuring out one rule won't be enough. There surprises hidden underneath every rock and I know then all."

"You can beat him, Yugi." said Tea.

"Don't let that flea scare ya. He's bluffin'." said Joey.

"Really?" Weevil asked as he and Yugi drew their next cards. "Let's just see how you handle this bluff." He places another insect on the field and a beetle appears with an attack of 1,950. "My Achilles Hercules Beetle will find a way to crawl under your skin."

"(Sighs) even though I know about the field power bonus, it's too late to rebuild my deck now." Yugi thought, then looks down at his cards. "I guess a combo attack would be my best bet."

"I play Feral Imp." said Yugi as he places the card on the field. "And now I'll add this horn of the unicorn so it's magic will raise its attack points."

The Feral Imp's attack points started raising along with its horn from 1,300 to 2,000, causing Weevil to laugh at him. "You have to do a lot better than that." said Weevil. "Hercules Beetle, Attack!"

The beetle stood on its hind legs and sends its attack. "Feral Imp, Magic Lightning attack!" shouted Yugi and the horn on the Feral Imp glowed, sending lightning at the beetle. Both attacks destroys both monsters.

"Yugi's attack didn't even faze that thing." said Tea.

"This is one interesting duel." said Paige.

"Something's screwy." said Joey.

"My Imp's lightning attack should have destroyed your beetle." said Yugi. "Is this another trick, Weevil?"

"No, Yugi. I just thought you knew all monsters with the field power bonus were also resistant to any type of magic attack." explained Weevil. "And since my Hercules Beetle easily deflected your lightning bolts, he has more than enough power left to destroy your puny feral imp and continue to eat away at your life points."

Yugi: 1,350

"Even that four eyed tick's weakest bugs are gonna be tough to beat so long as he's got that field power bonus." said Joey.

"Yeah, but it's not exactly like it could just be turned off." said Tristan.

"That Weevil's a no-good cheat." said Tea.

"I hate cheaters!" exclaimed Paige.

"It's your move. Make your turn." said Weevil.

"Maybe I should use my next monster to defend by putting my card in defense mode." thought Yugi. "My monster will take a hit but my life points will be spared."

"So we're defending now, are we? Clever!" taunted Weevil. "Since I can't see your monster's defense points, I can't be sure I can beat it. But even your strongest monster can't stand against my basic insect."

Out on the field was Basic Insect, a praying mantis monster card with an attack of 500. "Not only does he get a field power bonus," said Weevil as the attack power rose to 650 attack points. "But I'm upgrading him with a level three laser cannon and a level two power boost."

A laser was attached to the back of the praying mantis while black fans with vertical fangs appeared on the sides. "No! His insect's so powerful now my defense won't stand a chance and after it falls, my life points are next." thought Yugi.

"Now Yugi, for all the innocent little bugs you squashed, stomped, crushed or fumigated…it's payback time!" said Weevil and the laser fires at Yugi's defense. "Heh, heh, heh…you'll have to do better than that if you hope to survive my bug's laser powered arsenal."

"Then I'll play this card." Yugi said as he places a card face down onto the field.

"Another defense card, no doubt." thought Weevil. "And I'll make sure that defending is all he can do."

"I'm going to keep you on the defensive attack now with any monster and you will instantly activate this trap card." Weevil said to Yugi, holding a trap card in his hand.

"But Weevil's got Yugi cornered." said Tristan.

"He's boxed in." said Paige.

"Yeah, he can't even counter attack." said Joey.

"As long as my trap card remains in play, you're powerless to make a move against me." Weevil said. "So does tightening my web make you squirm?"

"He's so busy bragging, he's not paying attention to my moves." thought Yugi, placing a card on the field. "Maybe I can set a little trap of my own."

"Face it, Yugi. I've got you pinned down and while you're totally unable to attack me, I can attack you anytime I want." said Weevil. "Each turn you power, I create a new monster."

Two more monsters appeared on Weevil's side of the field as Yugi draws another card. "Keep drawing, Yugi. My army of insects just keeps growing bigger and I'm going to wipe out all your monsters in one bug blitzkrieg."

"That's right, Weevil." thought Yugi. "Put all your monsters on the field. That's what I'm counting on."

"Just look at our Yugi. He's so confident up there." said Tea.

"I know. It's like, when he's dueling, he becomes a totally different guy." said Joey, causing Melody to smile.

"Go Yugi!" she shouted.

"Heh, heh, and heh…well what do you know? I'm down to my last monstrous insect and you know what that means, Yugi." said Weevil with the card in his hand. "You're about to be exterminated."

"We'll see what my cards have to say." said Yugi, drawing another card from his deck. On the card, was a man with purple hair, wearing a purple wizard costume with a staff in his hand and a spell seal was behind him. "Yes, the Dark Magician. This is perfect. There's no way Weevil can resist him as a target."

"All right, Weevil. I defend with the Dark Magician." said Yugi.

"Excellent! I'll destroy your very favorite card first." said Weevil. "Now my pet, fire up your laser cannon. Heh, heh, heh, heh. Attack!"

The cannon fires up and Yugi starts laughing. "Why are you laughing?" Weevil asked.

"Weevil, you're not the only one who can set a trap card." Yugi tells him.

"What?!"

"You were so busy grandstanding; you paid no attention to the cards I put into play." said Yugi.

"I thought they were all monster cards." said Weevil, panicking a bit.

"Not all. While you loaded the field with monster cards, I prepared a special surprise." explained Yugi, then holds up a trap card. "The power of my Mirror Force Trap Card."

"Hold your fire!" shouted Weevil but he was too late and the laser cannon fired.

"Too late, Weevil." said Yugi as the Dark Magician pops up and Mirror Force activated. "You already ordered your attack on my Dark Magician and Mirror Force will deflect right back at you."

"My life points are devastated." said Weevil, his life points dropped down to 555 while Yugi's life points remained at 1,350.

"Way to go!" said Joey as Tristan, Paige and Tea cheered.

"He obliterated my army of beautiful bugs." thought Weevil as the look on his face became angry. "How dare he!"

"You're a liar and a cheat, Weevil. But it was your overconfidence that allowed me to get the best of you." said Yugi. "Your insects are decimated, your life points are low, and as you yourself said before, you have used up all your monsters."

"Heh, heh, heh…I lied about that too." said Weevil, surprising Yugi.

"What?!" said Paige.

"I still have my most formidable creature waiting in the wings." said Weevil and shows Yugi a cocoon. "And this unconquerable horrible insect will SWAT you down once and for all."
