Ch 18 The Truth of Chaldea
Harry woke up at the same time his Parents did, last night Mashu helped him pick out suitable clothes for the Camping trip. However, now once he placed it on, the clothes were odd.
For a place where they'll be Camping, Harry found it odd that he was going to wear a white dress shirt with two black straps at the chest and stomach. Short black pants that reach to the knees and black shoes with grey socks.
What was interesting to him was the fact there were two interlocking diamonds as belt buckles and on his collar shirt. (Chaldean Uniform, Child version)
"Oh? Now that looks good on you Bud!" Harry turns around, seeing his Father in cooler clothes than his.
Ritsuka wore an entirely white Uniform with black detailing on his chest to his back and black boots. The tattoos on that were on his hand were visible through the glove and he also shared the interlocking diamond crest on his white strap.
"Da Vinci really modify the Chaldean Uniform to fit you, Hars," Ritsuka commented, looking down at his Son, liking the Technical Advisor's taste. "How does it feel?"
"A-A bit wired, but I like it!" Harry smiles before seeing his Father take out something from his pocket.
Ritsuka approaches Harry, kneeling down at his level. "Harry," He opens the small box, revealing two clear lenses within it. "The place we're going to is very dangerous. This will help you a bit, your glasses aren't reinforced unlike the clothes or Mystic Codes we're wearing." He explains to his Son.
"M-Mystic Codes?" Harry was confused about the term, never hearing it before.
"Yes, Mystic Codes. Items that were made via Magic or in our terms Magecraft." The master of Chaldea explains, taking note of how Harry didn't flinch when he mentions the Word. Ritsuka smiles, seeing he has moved on from his Past since then.
"Huh?" Harry was still confused, not getting anything that Ritsuka said.
Ritsuka sighs, unsure how to explain this to an almost nine-year-old Child. "Force simplicity sake, for the love- I guess I have to explain what we are," The Magus sighs, walking to the bed, patting his lap for Harry to climb on.
Harry did so, now sitting on his Father's lap. "Harry, our World isn't what you think it is," Ritsuka explains, having Harry's full attention. "Our World is filled with Mystics, thought to say the least that the Mystics here aren't as strong as it was in the Age of Gods."
Harry remembers the terms that Professor M taught him. "Isn't the Age of Gods where People believe in their own Gods?" He cocked his head innocently.
"That's right, now this is where things get…a shit load confusing-don't tell your Mother." Ritsuka jokes with Harry, tapping his nose and causing him to giggle.
"Now, do you know what Chaldea is?" Ritsuka asked,
Harry ponders before answering him. "Isn't it an Organization that…that…that does Research and UN problems?" He asked, wondering if that was the right answer.
"Close, but in short; The Chaldea Security Organization is an Organization that not only protects the Modern World but also the Past and other points." Ritsuka delved into what Chaldea was known for.
"H-Huh?"
The Magus smiles, lifting his arm and activating his Magic Circuits. Harry was in awe, looking at his Father's arm. "W-What is happening to your arm, Daddy?" Harry asked, poking the Circuit in curiosity. "It's glowing!"
Ritsuka smiles, loving the curious expression his Son was making when he saw his Magic Circuits. "This here is what I cast Spells with, they're called Magic Circuits. They allow us Magus to perform what you call Magic." He explains,
Harry then looks at Ritsuka, now having a lot of questions. "B-But what does this have to do with Chaldea and the Past? How can you get to the Past? Do you have a Spell to travel back in Time-"
"One at a time there, Bud." The Magus chuckles, finding his quick asking to be charming. "To answer, we have Technology that was developed by combining Magecraft and Science. The previous director of Chaldea, Marisbury Animusphere, Lucius's Brother developed a Machine that allows us to observe the World."
Harry's eyes sparkle like stars, finding it fascinating. "It's called CHALDEAS, along with the Sheba Lens; we can monitor all of Humanity in one place." Ritsuka continues to explain. "And if we detect something called a Singularity; we have something called the Rayshift to in a sense travel back in time via Spiritron."
"Spirit…tron?" Harry blinks, understanding a bit from what his Father said.
"It's all complicated for you now, I'll explain it better when we eventually go back home, Chaldea's main base of operation." The Magus said, not wanting to overload his Son with this stuff.
The young Boy looks up at his Father, having more questions now. "Daddy, how can you fix this…Singul…arity?" Harry asked, trying to pronounce the term he used.
Ritsuka nodded, knowing this would lead to this. "Another topic, which I'm about to explain. There's this force that monitors both the Planet and Humanity. Watching them as they move forward in the Future."
"They're known as Alaya and Gaia," Ritsuka explains,
"AH! Gaia as in the Mother Earth, right?" Harry smiles, learning about it though briefly with Moriarty.
Ritsuka chuckles, patting his Son's head. "That's right, Gaia is known as the Planet. It monitors the Earth and ensures that it remains safe." He continues.
Harry looks down, curious about the other part. "Then what is Alaya?" He asked,
"Alaya is also known as the Collective Conscious of Mankind. In short, it's the Force that keeps Humans away from extinction." The master of Chaldea continues explaining to his heir. "These two Forces are known as the Counter Force. They Summon Counter Guardians to quell threats that threaten the entire World and Humanity."
Harry nodded, seeing this topic is serious. "W-What are Counter Guardians, Daddy?"
Suddenly the doors bust, causing Harry to yelp at the unexpected surprise. "Counter Guardians are also known as Heroic Spirits. Heroes of the Past sent to serve as tools to protect the World!" Loli Da Vinci smiles, entering the room. "I'm sorry, once you were talking about Counter Guardians and teaching Harry-kun about us, I have to step in to give it more oompf."
"D-Da Vinci…" Ritsuka chuckles, still holding onto Harry, "You scared Harry, now what is it you need to tell me?" He asked his Servant.
"Fujimaru-kun, we're ready to depart to the Camp." The Rider smiles before looking at Harry, "And I do believe it's better to show Harry-kun than to tell. Seeing is the best experience some would say." Da Vinci commented.
Ritsuka agreed with the Renaissance Girl, placing down his Son on the ground. "I think you're right." He looks down at his Son, smiling at him. "Now, let's put these on you."
Harry nodded, allowing his Father to put on the contact lenses on him. Once done, Ritsuka lends him his Phone, showing his reflection.
"It's the same color as my eyes." Harry smiles at his Father.
"That's right, I have clear contact lenses that can show your original eye color." Ritsuka ruffled his hair, having fun sharing this moment with him.
Da Vinci chuckles, rolling over to the Father and Son. "You can also ask for a different color if you want. After all, it's a Da Vinci-chan's product." The Rider stated, causing the young Boy to giggle.
Harry nodded, taking note of what Loli Da Vinci is offering.
"Oh, and another thing, Fujimaru-kun!" Both Ritsuka and Harry look at Da Vinci as she took out a white Watch. The Watch itself was simple, the clock was square with a digital timer. However, Harry could tell there's more to it than meets the eye.
Ritsuka held the Watch in his hand, seeing that this is what Da Vinci and Sion were working on at the Wandering Sea. "It's called the Spirit Origin Watch, similar to the Spirit Origin Briefcase, However, unlike the Briefcase, this one's more portable." She explained. "The Spirit Origins of every Chaldean Servant is compacted into this Watch,"
Da Vinci smiles, taking pride in her and Sion's work. "You have more of a selection on whom to Summon if you ever need it, not Shadow Servants mind you. But actual Chaldean Servants. It also has a built-in Summon Circle if you want to Summon new Servants." The Rider Servant explains further what the Spirit Origin Watch can do,
"All you need is a working Leyline to activate the Spell." Da Vinci's eyes then shift to Harry, who was in awe of the Watch in his Father's hands, "Hmm…" The Rider smiles, having thought about Harry in the future.
After placing the Spirit Origin Watch around his wrist, Ritsuka looks at the mirror before looking at Harry. "What do you think Harry? Do I look cool?" Ritsuka smirks at his Son,
Harry nodded, always thinking his Father was cool. "Yeah!" He giggles,
Da Vinci smiles at the two, happy to see Ritsuka and Mashu find something that makes them happy. She shook her head, getting serious, "All right, I think we made Mashu and the others wait long enough."
"Right, let's go, Harry." Ritsuka placed his hand on his Son's back.
At the Garage of the French Branch, Mashu was ready to go with a purple-haired white Knight and Mandricardo. Koyanskaya was going over the last supply shipments to the Camp with Monsieur, Moriarty, and Holmes.
Both Gabrielle and Fleur were playing around the transport, waiting for the moment they depart for the Camp.
"M-Mashu, e-explain to me why I have been called here?" Lancelot Du Lac asked his Pseudo-Daughter,
"Since you are here, I figured it might be good for Harry-kun to know you, Dad," Mashu said, looking at her Pseudo-Father.
Lancelot grasps his heart, hearing the violet-haired Woman call him. "GAK!" He stumbles back, "M-Mashu, h-how many times do I-I have to tell you? C-Call me that isn't good f-for my heart."
Mashu clicked her tongue, seeing the Knight of the Lake acting like a Child. "Tch, don't overdo it, Dad. Remember, I still haven't forgotten what you pulled with Professor Moriarty." She glares at him, still etched in her mind.
She shutters, still unable to get rid of that image. "Please, just act like a proper Grandfather to Harry-kun."
Mandricardo was lost for words, the Mashu he knew from Atlantis was completely different when it comes to Lancelot of the Lake. 'Man, I heard what happened with Moriarty and Lancelot in the main Base. But that was two years ago, and she still has scars from that incident!?' He mentally thought, looking at the Knight of the Lake. 'Good luck, Sir Lancelot, you need it.'
"Ah, I see everyone's here." Mashu and the Servants turn around, seeing Ritsuka, Da Vinci, and Harry coming over to them.
Mashu smiles, approaching her Family. She then noticed their Mystic Codes, "Wow, those Mystic Codes look good on you two," She compliments both her Husband and Son,
Harry blushes before noticing that his Mother is still wearing her usual attire. "Where's your Mystic Code, Mommy?" He asked, curious why she wasn't wearing one.
"That's because I don't need one, Harry-kun," Mashu answered the young Boy before explaining to him why. "I have something else that would be helpful for this mission."
Harry just looks confused before seeing a purple-haired man in white armor and a blue cape approach them. "Greetings young one, I am Saber. A Knight of your Father and-"
"He's your Grandfather, Harry-kun. Call him Grandpa," Mashu interrupted Lancelot's introduction, glaring at her Pseudo-Father.
Lancelot flinched, feeling the call gaze of his Pseudo-Daughter. "M-Mashu…" He groans,
Harry blinks at the Knight of the Lake, he smiles seeing that his Grandfather was like Sir Lancelot in the book he read with white armor. "Nice to meet you Grandpa," He smiles,
The Knight of the Lake turns his attention to Harry, seeing the similarities between his master/Son-in-law and him. Clearing his throat, Lancelot knew what to do. "It's nice to meet you, Harry." He patted his master's Son's head. "I'll be your Guard along with a few others."
"Guard?" Harry asked, turning to his Father. "I thought the Mystic Code would protect me,"
"It will, but things at the Camp might be unpredictable," Ritsuka explains. "It's best to be prepared just in case."
Harry nodded before seeing everyone getting into the Transports. "Everyone is already leaving?" He asked, feeling like they got here.
Suddenly, Monsieur approaches Ritsuka in haste. "Director, we've received word zat zere's a large horde of Wyverns leaving zeir nest." The director of the French Branch informed the master of Chaldea.
Harry's eyes widen, hearing the Mythical Dragon-kin being mentioned by the director. "W-W-Wyverns?" He asked a bit frightened by the mention of the Wyverns. "I-I thought t-they were make-believe…"
The Servants and Adults froze, realizing they just revealed something really important. "Uh…yeah," Ritsuka chuckles, scratching the back of his head. "Wyverns do exist, even Dragons but they're rare to find here."
"B-But still, Wyverns?" Harry looks up before feeling Da Vinci's hand tugging on his arms.
Da Vinci smiles, making Harry safe. "Don't worry, Harry-kun; even if we're facing Wyverns, you'll be safe." The Rider stated, "You'll be around with many Heroic Spirits who will not let any scary Wyverns get to you."
The young Wizard looks around, seeing the Servants nodding that they'll keep him safe. "O-Okay,"
Mashu looks at Ritsuka, smiling at how brave their Son has gotten. "All right, let's get going." Ritsuka picks up his Son, carrying him to the Transport.
Harry smiles, having fun being carried by his Father. They walked outside where the Transport was, only to be greeted by a large vehicle. It was large, with black metal plating, a large front window, and twelve wheels. "T-That's the transport!?" He asked, shocked that they had something just waiting outside the Outpost.
"Yep, meet the Imaginary Numbers Submersible Shadow Border!" Da Vinci proudly introduces the heir of Chaldea to the major components of Chaldea's arsenal. "It can travel through Void Space by using the Zero Sail function that slips through the gaps between the World."
Harry did not understand what the Loli just said. These terms were all new to him, but the gist he got it could travel through a space in reality to get places quicker.
"Don't worry about it, sometimes I don't get Da Vinci at all." Ritsuka smiles, playing with his Son. "But to sum it up, this is the Transport. The Shadow Border can travel the space between the World."
Harry nodded, understanding better as his Father placed him down.
They all followed Da Vinci into the Shadow Border, when Harry looked up, he was beyond shocked. The cockpit was bigger than the outside made it to be.
There were Staff already at the console and Monsieur was supervising them. There are newly added seats at the back of the one at the center of the Command Room,
Harry looks at the seats, fastened with extra seatbelts, assumingly for him and the Delacour Sisters.
Ritsuka walks over to the seats, placing Harry on it before buckling him up. "Harry, have you riding a rollercoaster before?" He asked his Son, fastening the last belt buckle.
"No, I haven't," Harry answers, looking at him.
"Well, this is similar to that." Ritsuka smiles, ruffling his hair. "Just sit still and don't open your mouth when we make a jump. You'll bite your tongue," He jokes with his Son.
The young Boy nodded, hearing what his Father said was important. He looks around once Ritsuka went to speak with the Staff,
Soon Gabrielle sat down next to him, putting on the belt buckles. "Are you excited, Gabrielle?"
The blonde Girl flinched, turning to Harry. "U-Um…O-Oui, yes. I'm very excited," Gabrielle blushed, answering Harry's question.
Harry smiles before hearing the Engines of the Border start. Da Vinci steps forward as the floor under her reveals a small opening. "All right everyone, Servants, Chaldeans, and Children alike; we're off to the Outskirts of France!" The Rider announces, stepping on the platform.
"Prepare for departure," Da Vinci announces, being lowered into the Engine room of the Border.
Soon the Storm Border began to roll and then they left the French Outpost,
Harry clings to the seatbelt, feeling slight bumps on the road they were on. This moment was exciting, never had he experienced a rollercoaster before, "This is what a rollercoaster is like," He commented, looking at the front window. "Woah,"
His eyes could see the plains of France as the Border continued its way across it. "How long until we arrive at the Camp?' Harry asked,
Lancelot looks at his Grandson, answering for his Master and Pseudo-Daughter, "It won't be long, Harry. Believe it or not, the Shadow Border will be there in a few seconds-"
Suddenly the Border shook, like something has attack them. "W-What i-is that?" Harry panicked as the Border made a complete stop. "Director, zere's Wyverns zat made it all zee way here," Monsieur informed his Father.
Ritsuka nodded, pulling on his glove. "Right, there's one way to deal with this." He said, walking to the end of the cockpit.
"D-Daddy?" Harry asked, a bit frightened by the loud roars and banging on the Border's haul.
"Saber, Rider stay with the Children." Lancelot and Mandricardo nodded, both taking each side of the haul.
-ZZZ- This is the Computer room speaking, Fujimaru-kun, I believe it's time to test the waters with the Spirit Origin Watch. -ZZZ- Da Vinci came on the comms, advising Ritsuka on what to do.
"Right," The Magus turns to his Son, smiling at him. "Harry, remember when I say Chaldea is a place that protects Humanity?" Ritsuka asked,
Harry nodded, holding onto the seat well. "Y-Yeah,"
"Then watch," Ritsuka turns back, holding out his hand as the Watch and the Command Seals on his hands glow. "Come to me, Guardian of the Scales!"
The Watch reacted, a Summon Circle was released from the Spirit Origin Watch and grew until it reached the floor.
Harry watched the Summon Circle generates electricity before a blinding light engulfed the room. After a few minutes, he opened his eyes to see a Woman in a black dress, her hair was snow white, and her skin porcelain.
In her hands was a large Sword that looked like it came from hell.
The Woman opens her eyes, looking at her master. "Servant, Berserker, Kriemhild. I've come… I have come in answer to your summons…" Kriemhild answers Ritsuka's Summons from far away, "Master, what do you wish for me to do?" She asked,
The Magus blinks, not really expecting Krimhild to answer his call. "Kriemhild? Didn't expect that, In any case, she's still perfect for this," He said before giving his order.
"Kriemhild, go and defeat the Wyverns attacking the Shadow Border," Ritsuka ordered his Servant.
Kriemhild swiftly turns to the Border's door, and as it opens, she dashes forward. "HAHAHA! DIE, DIE, DIE!" She laughs, disregarding Harry's shocked face.
Harry turns to the Monitors, seeing what was attacking them. Large red Wyverns clawing at the Border's haul. "W-Wha…h-how did s-she…" He watched as the Berserker leaps out of the Border, slamming into a Wyvern before slashing his chest,
She screams, leaping on the top of the Shadow Border, and swings the Sword despite her weak arms. In all honesty, he'll be lying if he tells himself that he's not afraid. "Sorry, Hars."
Harry looks at his Father, raising his hand apologetically. "I was aiming for Seigfried or Sigurd, but I guess there's still some kinks the Watch has," Ritsuka said, letting Da Vinci know with his raised voice.
"But don't be afraid, Kriemhild is a nice Person; despite her Berserker… tendency," Ritsuka said, hearing her laughing on top of the Shadow Border.
Harry could only nod, still shocked by what he saw. "I-If you say so…" he flinched, hearing a loud splat on the roof.
