To all my readers-This is the first time that I'm going to do Yugioh without making any character name changes. I want you all to know that my OC Paige Muto is related to Yugi and her looks are based on him. So, think of Paige as a feminine Yugi and Atem. Before anyone asks, yes, I will be doing all 5 seasons of Yugioh and that includes Capsule monsters as well. I was once asked if Paige would be dueling and yes, she will. You won't be able to see her duel until season 2 when Kaiba starts his Battle City Tournament.

As I write this chapter, you see Yugi talking to Atem. Since this is season 1, in this chapter, Yugi was asking Atem about the Black Luster Ritual on behalf of him and Paige.

If anyone, and I mean anyone tries to rush me while writing this fanfic or any of my other fanfics, all written chapters will be delayed for a week. No exceptions. Leave a positive review and Happy Reading!

I DONT OWN YUGIOH AT ALL! I ONLY OWN THE OC AND HER DUELING DECK!

Shoutouts:

"Man, this has gotta be the closet match I've ever seen." said Tristan.

"Me, too! The closest one I've seen was when Paige almost beat Grandpa." said Yugi.

"Really?" their friends asked.

"How was I supposed to know he was going to pull that trap card?" Paige asked her brother who was pretending to whistle. "I know I didn't."

"With just 50 life points separating their scores, it's anyone's game." said Yugi, ignoring Paige's glare.

"Don't let up now, Joey!" said Tea, rooting for him. "It all comes down to these next few turns."

"Come on, Joey!" shouted Paige.

"Your sister's countin' on ya! Make her proud!" said Tristan as Joey smiles up at his friends.

"No prob." Joey replied, giving them a thumbs up as Bandit Keith scoffs.

"This duel has turned into quite the nail biter." thought Pegasus. "Joey, a virtual unknown, going card for card going with the intercontinental champion? I wonder what it is that fuels these splendid performances? Perhaps my millennium eye will show me the answer."

Pegasus looks over at Bandit Keith, using the power of the millennium eye and sees the duel he participated in. "Ah, yes, of course." thought Pegasus, remembering that duel. "Keith has been wading in a pool of misery ever since that defeat I handed him. Now he's seeking his revenge."

He then looks over at Joey. "As for Joey…." said Pegasus, using his power to look into Joey's memories to see Yugi and the others making a friendship pact.

"These markings are a symbol of our friendship." said Tea. "And how we'll always be there for one another."

"And a sister?" Pegasus asked himself as he sees Serenity, laughing on the tape she sent Joey. "My, my. So while one is driven by bitter vengeance, the other is motivated by love and trust. Why it's practically a battle of good vs. evil! Heh heh heh heh. How amusing."

"Heh heh heh heh. Come on! Let's get on with this match, ya dweeb!" said Bandit Keith, glaring Joey down. "I got plenty more machine monsters all revved up and ready to totally steam roll your life points. Heh heh heh. Yeah, you aint nothin' but a speed bump on my way to duel Pegasus, and that goes double for that dweeby friend of yours, Yugi."

"Hey! My brother is not dweeby!" screamed Paige from the wings.

"Paige, calm down!" said Yugi.

"Don't pop a vessel." said Tristan.

"Yeah, right, Keith." said Joey.

"What'd you say?" Keith asked.

"I got news for you, pal." said Joey. "Even if you beat me, which you won't, Yugi'd cream ya, and you know why, hotshot? 'Cause you're a selfish sleazeball who's only in this tournament for your own greedy reasons."

"Say what?!" growled Bandit Keith.

"People like you never win. Sure, your tricks may get you a little ways," said Joey, with a new card in hand. "but only until people with good intentions show up like me and like Yugi, too."

"Oh yeah? We'll just see about that." he said, bringing another card to the field. "One card facedown, and I'll attack with this! My Barrel Dragon is gonna blast you and your good intentions to dust."

Barrel Dragon (ATT:2,600/ DEF:2,200) appeared on the field as Yugi and Paige growled from the wings.

"See, with its triple attack laser discharge system, it has three attacks, not just one." said Bandit Keith. "I can clear all your monsters from the field in one turn."

"Wha…3 attacks?" asked Joey.

"That's right. You're going down." Bandit Keith said, showing giving him a thumbs down. "So, say good bye to your 2 buddies on the field." As Bandit Keith laughs, Barrel Dragon starts powering up. "Go, Proton Blast!"

Two laser shots were fired upon Joey's monsters, destroying them on the field. "Oh! That thing totaled them both." said Joey, his life points dropping to 850.

"That's what a 2,600-point attack will do for ya." said Bandit Keith. "Face it. This is the end of the line for you. No monster you got is gonna withstand this kind of firepower!"

"No wonder Keith was acting so confidentially." said Yugi. "Just look at that thing."

"Joey really has his work cut out for him now." said Tea.

"Are you don't yet, Keith?" asked Joey. "'Cause I already figured out how to beat your little toy blaster." He then place Time Wizard on the field. "Meet the master of the past and future."

"Augh, the Time Wizard." thought Bandit Keith.

"All right! That could work!" said Tea.

"Yeah, if that Time Roulette lands right, that machine monster will age and corrode." said Yugi.

"Let's corrode that machine!" said Paige.

"And I'm not done, Keith." said Joey, taking another card out of his hand. "I'm throwing this baby down, too. Baby Dragon, that is!"

Baby Dragon appears on the field, stretching out its body. "Now you got 2 things to worry about, Keith. That blaster of yours rusting up and this little guy growin' up." said Joey. "Let's do it! Go, Time Roulette!"

"Of course, if that Time Roulette lands wrong, then Joey will have something to worry about." said Yugi. "His Time Wizard will be destroyed, and he'll be at the mercy of Keith's blaster."

"Thanks for the image, Yugi." Paige said sarcastically.

"It's in fate's hands now." said Bakura.

"Come on, Joey." cheered Tea.

"We're with ya, bud." said Tristan.

"Come on, Time Wizard." thought Joey as Time Roulette spins. "I really need ya to come through for me here."

"Hmm." said Pegasus thoughtfully as Bandit Keith let out a small growl.

"It's slowing down." said Tea as the arrow on Time Wizard's wand starts slowing down.

"Don't land on a skull." thought Yugi.

"Please land on a Time Warp." thought Paige.

"Get there." said Joey as Bandit Keith growled again. Just then, the arrow landed on a Time Warp.

"All right! Yeah!" shouted Joey as Time Wizard worked its magic. "Go Time Wizard!"

"Time is magic!" shouted Time Wizard as time passes by around them.

"Check it out." said Tristan as Barrel Dragon's power drops (ATT:1,800/ DEF:1,400). "Time Magic is causing Keith's dragon to rust up. He's losing power."

"Wow." said Paige, watching the monster become corroded.

"While Joey's dragon is gaining power as it evolves." said Tea as Baby Dragon became Thousand Dragon.

"Nice work, Joey!" called Yugi. "The stage is set perfectly."

"Now, Thousand Dragon, Noxious Nostril Gust!" shouted Joey and Thousand Dragon sends out a sand gust from its nose at Barrel Dragon, sending it to the graveyard. "Heh! Got him! That hunk of steel is history."

Bandit Keith laughs at Joey's statement as he reaches for the card he had face down. "But history repeats itself, especially when you're taking on a deck that's stacked with all kinds of different machine cards, like this trap, for example!" said Bandit Keith.

"A trap card?" asked Joey.

"Say hello to my Time Travelling Time Machine." said Bandit Keith, revealing his trap card.

"What's in that chamber?" asked Tea, gasping.

"My Time Machine can travel back in time one turn." he explained.

"Wha…" said Joey as Keith's Time Machine opens its doors. "This can't be good."

"So I can retrieve the monster that you just destroyed." said Bandit Keith as Barrel Dragon reappears on the field.

"Oh, it's his Barrel Dragon again. Its back and it looks brand spankin' new." thought Joey.

"All of its point totals have gone back to full power." said Yugi.

"Go Proton Blast!" shouted Bandit Keith as Barrel Dragon powers up and fires at Thousand Dragon, blasting it off the field.

"He's gone. My dragon's gone." said Joey as his life points dropped by 200.

"And he's gonna stay gone too." sneered Bandit Keith. "That is, unless you have a time machine trap set up to bring him back, but then he'd be coming back a baby dragon, wouldn't he?"

"Heh?" Joey asked, confused. "What are ya talking about?"

"Oh, right! Because the Time Machine brings back your monster the way it was one turn before." said Tea.

"And since Keith's monster didn't rust over until this turn, it came back the way it was last turn…." said Yugi. "unfazed by Joey's Time Wizard."

"Punk, I knew you were gonna use that dweeby little Time Wizard to try and rust up my dragon." said Bandit Keith. "You forget! I saw every card in your deck when you dueled Bonz!"

"Grr!" growled Joey. "Duels are more than just about the cards you use."

"Yeah, they're about backbone, too, and judging from the look on your face when my dragon came back through time, I'd say you don't even have one." Bandit Keith taunted Joey. "Now make your move!"

"I'll throw a monster in defense mode, and that's it." said Joey, hanging his head for a moment and glares at Bandit Keith.

"That's it is right." said Bandit Keith, grinning. "'Cause my machines are gonna keep on comin'! Go Slot Machine! Attack Mode!"

Slot Machine (ATT:2,000/ DEF:2,300) stands up, ready for anything. "Now your turn, Dragon." said Bandit Keith, pointing to Joey's face down card. "Blast that card to kingdom come. Proton Blast!"

Dragon Barrel fired its attack, revealing Joey's face down card, sending it to the grave yard.

"Hmm. I could throw a monster out and destroy Keith's Slot Machine, but then he would turn around and destroy whatever card I play with that dragon." thought Joey, looking at the cards in his hand. "Even with my strongest card of all, the Red Eyes Black Dragon wouldn't stand a chance."

"Poor Joey." said Tea.

"He's in a tough bind." said Tristan.

"Joey, believe in your cards!" shouted Yugi. "You need to trust them if you're gonna beat them!"

"Come on, Joey! Believe!" shouted Paige.

"Hmm….Hmm!" Joey hummed to himself before placing a card onto the field. "I'm gonna lay one card facedown and…throw the Red Eyes Black Dragon in attack mode!"

Red Eyes roared its way onto the field, stomping the ground. "And that'll do it for me." he added.

"That Red Eyes Black Dragon may be the best card you got in your entire deck, dweeb, but he's still no match for this kind of blastin' power." said Bandit Keith, laughing hysterically as his Barrel Dragon powers up and aims at Red Eyes Black Dragon. "Say bye-bye to your prized possession. Proton Blast Attack!"

"Not so fast." said Joey, revealing his facedown card as Barrel Dragon fired its attack.

"What's that?" asked Bandit Keith.

"It's a little something called Copycat." said Joey. "It lets me copy one card that you've used, and I'm choosin' to copy Magic Metal Force." Just then, Copycat copies Magic Metal Force, placing the arm onto Red Eyes, raising its power (ATT:2,800/ DEF:2,400). "Now my Red Eyes Black Dragon is a Red Eyes Metal Dragon! And that makes him strong enough to withstand your attack!"

Barrel Dragon's Proton Blast makes contact with Red Eyes, only to be bounced off.

"All right!" said Yugi. "Now Keith's Dragon is the one in trouble!"

"Red Eyes, Counter Attack!" shouted Joey as Red Eyes prepares a red energy ball. "Flash Flare Blast!"

"Ungh! Grr!" groaned Bandit Keith, covering his eyes as his life points dropped to 900.

"How do ya like that, Keith?" asked Joey. "Your triple blast Dragon Machine has been reduced to a pile of smokin' metal debris. And with my sister's sight on the line, I plan on getting even tougher on ya."

"Check it out." said Tristan. "Since Keith's Dragon's gone, Joey's Metal Red Eyes is the toughest card on the block."

"Yeah, but don't count Keith out just yet." said Yugi. "There must be some reason he played that Slot Machine Monster."

"No kidding. If I had that Magic Metal Force in my deck and Joey used it against me…" said Paige. "I wouldn't stand a chance against him."

"I knew you were an amateur, and now I'm gonna show you how come." Bandit Keith said, smirking and glaring at Joey.

"Huh?!" taunted Joey, stretching out his ear then cleans it out. "Amateur? Um…didn't I just go and blast your best monster to bits?"

"That's right! Keep talkin', tough guy!" said Bandit Keith, throwing his next card down. "I'm laying this card facedown, and I'm switching my Slot Machine monster to defensive mode."

"Boy, is Keith really losin' it!" thought Joey. "That Slot Machine can't take a blast from my Red Eyes not matter what mode he's in. Guess he'll have to learn the hard way. Bad move, chief. First, I'll lay this facedown, and now, my Red Eyes will attack! Flash Flare Blast!"

"Man, you are as predictable as you are brainless." said Bandit Keith, then reveals his trap card. "I'm playing the card I had facedown. Go 7 Completed!"

"Huh?" said Tea as one 7 appears. "How come that middle slot just switch to a 7?"

"Good question." said Paige as Red Eyes' attack made contact with Slot Machine, causing no affect on the monster.

"He's still there?" asked Joey.

"That's 'cause my 7 Completed card raises my Slot Machine's defensive points…to 3,000 to be exact," chuckled Bandit Keith as Slot Machine's defense points were raised to 3,000. "and that's more than enough to deflect your Red Eyes Black Dragon's strongest attack."

Joey groans at this. "And 'cause my attack is lower than his defense, I lose life points." he said as his life points dropped to 450.

"Man, this stinks." said Tristan, slamming his fist on the railing.

"That Flash Flare Blast is the strongest attack Joey has, too." said Yugi as Paige nodded.

"And you know what else I got?" Bandit Keith asked. "2 more 7 completed cards in my deck, each able to power up my Slot's defense or attack by 700 points."

"Yeah, well, just 'cause you have 'em doesn't mean you'll draw them, Keith." said Joey.

Bandit Keith laughs off his statement as he drew his next card. "Oh, I aint too worried about that." he thought. Unknown to Joey and the others, with a slip of the hand, Bandit Keith slips a card out from his wrist, only catching Pegasus' eye.

"Hmm?" he said, looking at Bandit Keith.

"Well what do you know?" Bandit Keith asked sarcastically. "Check out what card I just drew. I think I'll go ahead and take it for a spin." His Slot Machine then goes for its second 7, raising its attack power (ATT:2,700/ DEF:3,000). "This time, for my attack power."

"Aw, man." said Joey, sweating. "If I don't do something soon, my life points are gonna get cleaned out."

"Oh, no!" said Yugi. "One more of those 7 completed cards, and that Slot will have powered up enough to destroy Joey's Red Eyes Dragon."

"And any other card he has, too." said Bakura.

"Ok, I'm freaking out internally here." said Paige.

"Next, I'm throwin' down this. Heh." said Bandit Keith, throwing down his next card. "Go, Blast Sphere and attach yourself to Joey's dragon."

Blast Sphere (ATT:2,900/ DEF:1,400) appears and attaches itself to Red Eyes Black Dragon.

"Huh? Blast Sphere?" asked Joey.

"That's right, and once I end my turn, it'll self-destruct, giving off 2,900 points of damage to your dragon." explained Bandit Keith.

"Self-destruct?!" exclaimed Joey as Blast Sphere ticks away. "Oh, no! And I thought I just had that Slot Machine to worry about."

"Okay, Dweeb. I'm endin' my turn now." said Bandit Keith. "You're time's up." Blast Sphere self-destructs, destroying Red Eyes Black Dragon on the field. "Blammo! Ha!"

Bandit Keith laughs at this as the smoke clears and sees Red Eyes Black Dragon still standing on the field. "But that dragon should have been blown to bits!" said Bandit Keith as Red Eyes Black Dragon's attack points were raised by 600 points. "This aint right."

"Oh, its right, thanks to my handy Dragon Nails card." said Joey, showing his trap card. "It made my Red Eyes 600 attack points stronger."

"Of course! The blast got deflected." said Tristan.

"You dweeb!" said Bandit Keith, angrily as his life points dropped to 400. "Now my life points go down."

"Aw, you're gonna make me cry." taunted Joey.

"Hmph. I'll make you cry alright." said Bandit Keith as he takes another card out from his wrist. "Just you wait. Heh heh heh heh. Well, looky what I got here! I think I'll power up my Slot's attack again!"

Soon as Slot Machine's attack power matched Red Eyes, he laughed again. "Well, would ya look at that,?" Bandit Keith asked, acting innocently as Joey growled.

"Both their monsters have the same attack points now." said Bakura.

"And Joey and Keith have almost the exact same amount of life points remaining too." said Tea.

"Hmm, this next turn could decide the whole match." said Yugi.

"Hmm…the Shield and Sword Card." said Joey, looking at his hand. "Playing this would swap all monsters' defense points with their attack points, but that'd only help Keith out." He sighs, then draws another card from his deck. "Huh?"

"Come on." Bandit Keith said to Joey. "No card you play's gonna help. Just end your turn."

"Hmm." Joey nodded, ending his turn.

"Thanks. Now I think I'll go ahead and end this duel." said Bandit Keith.

"Huh?"

"Its all over for you. Thanks to this." Bandit Keith told Joey, holding up a card with a thief on it. "The Pillager!"

"The what?!" asked Joey.

"The Pillager lets me look at your dueling hand and steal one card from it." explained Bandit Keith. "So lay 'em down!"

Joey lays down his dueling hand, groaning, "Aw, man!"

Bandit Keith takes a look at the cards from Joey's hand. "Hmm." He said to himself, looking at the cards and spots a card. "Hey. The Shield and Sword card. Perfect! I think I'll take this one."

Joey growled as Bandit Keith laughs, taking his card. "I told ya you were through." taunted Bandit Keith. "Go Shield and Sword! Swap attack points with defense points." Joey was taken aback by this.

"Now go Slot Machine." said Bandit Keith. "Plasma Laser Cannon."

"Unh! Activate Trap!" shouted Joey.

"Attack!" shouted Bandit Keith. Slot Machine fires its attack, destroying Red Eyes Black Dragon on the field, causing Bandit Keith to laugh in his victory. "I win…what?" asked Bandit Keith, looking across the arena as he became shocked. "No way!"

On the other side of the field, Joey's monster held one of his cards in his hands. "The dweeb had a Graverobber card?" thought Bandit Keith, taking a step back. "And he used it to bring back my Time Machine Trap!"

"Heh! You should have paid more attention to my last turn, Keith." said Joey as the Time Machine appears on his side. "Then you'd have seen the trap I set for ya."

"And since the Time Machine can bring back a monster from the previous turn, then….that means….." said Bandit Keith, realizing his mistake.

"Bingo! My Dragon's back." said Joey as smoke came out of the door. "And now his attack power is higher than your defense."

The door swung open and Red Eyes growled at Bandit Keith from the inside. "Red Eyes, welcome back." said Joey and Red Eyes steps out of the Time Machine. "And since he's back to how he was one turn ago, his attack is higher than your defense. So good luck blocking this. Go Flash Flare Blast!"

Red Eyes Black Dragon fires his attack on Slot Machine, destroying it on the field. Bandit Keith was shocked as his life points finally dropped to zero.

"No way." he said, staring at Joey. "He beat me. He actually won."

"Remarkable!" thought Pegasus, staring at Bandit Keith. "Keith's rampage for revenge was brought to a halt by a novice dueling for a loved one."

"Way to go! You did it!" Yugi and the others cheered for his victory.

"Joey Wheeler, you are the victor!" said Croquet, with his arm raised.

"Hey! All right!" shouted Joey.

"Yeah, you lose!" shouted Tristan as he hops onto the ledge, only to be caught by Yugi and Paige.

"Idiot!" said Paige, grabbing a hold of Tristan's waist.

"Thanks, Mai." thought Joey, looking at the handkerchief she handed him. "I wont forget how you helped me."

"This duel doesn't count!" screamed Bandit Keith, slamming his hands on the panel.

"Huh?" said Joey.

"Doesn't count?!" asked Tristan.

"He must be dreaming. I qualify that this duel does count." said Paige.

"Pip down, Pipsqueak!" shouted Bandit Keith.

"Hey, don't call my sister a pipsqueak!" shouted Yugi.

"Keith doesn't know when to give up." said Tea.

"The entry card that Joey showed to play in this match wasn't even his!" said Bandit Keith, pointing a finger at the blonde. "Therefore, the duel shouldn't count, and he ought to be disqualified right here!"

"He's right." said Joey, revealing the card Mai gave him. "My card was missin', so Mai gave me hers. But tell me, Keith, how could you have known that this wasn't my card?"

"Huh? Uh…." said Bandit Keith.

"Isn't that the look Grandpa has when I catch him trying to get one of sweets I make?" asked Paige, looking at her brother.

"Yep and that's only after I try to take a couple from you when they come out of the oven." said Yugi, giggling as Paige joins in.

"I'm all ears." said Joey. "So, why don't you explain yourself?" Bandit Keith growled at Joey's question when Pegasus steps in.

"He doesn't need to." said Pegasus. "Its clear that Keith stole Joey's card. That's why he was so certain that you would never be able to find it."

"You snake! I knew it!" shouted Joey.

"That big cheat!" Tea exclaimed.

"Then Keith ought to be disqualified, not Joey." said Tristan.

"Yeah!" shouted Paige.

"Oh, Keith ought to be disqualified all right, but not simply for misdeeds outside of the dueling ring." said Pegasus. "There was quite a bit of improper conduct taking place during the match that I observed, too."

Bandit Keith growls again as Pegasus' millenium eye shines in the light. "Is that so, Keith?" asked Joey.

"Oh, yes." replied Pegasus. "Keith kept his set of 7 completed cards beneath his wrist band. That way, he could power up his Slot Machine Monster whenever he chose."

"Man, Keith! That's low!" said Joey, glaring at him.

"Take the scoundrel away. Far away." ordered Pegasus as two of his men grabs Bandit Keith by his arms.

"No! Let go!" screamed Bandit Keith, struggling against the two men that were dragging him out. "Let me go! Nobody makes a monkey out of Bandit Keith! Nobody!"

"Well done, Joseph." said Pegasus, applauding Joey. "You should be quite proud. You dueled admirably."

"Hey!" shouted Bandit Keith, knocking out the men holding him as he ran out onto the arena.

"Aah! Keith!" said Joey as he jumps up towards Pegasus.

"Pegasus!" shouted Bandit Keith.

"Whoa!"

"You truly are a stubborn one, aren't you?" Pegasus asked Bandit Keith.

"Can it! You aint talkin' your way out of this one." said Bandit Keith. "Now hand over that prize money or else!"

"Oh, certainly, Keith! I'll do whatever you say." said Pegasus. "Just give my body a moment to recover from the complete paralysis that your terrifying demands have shocked me into!"

"Okay, wise guy." said Bandit Keith. "I'll give you till 3."

"Hmm…fine. 1, 2, 3." said Pegasus and pressed a button that opened a trap door, leading Bandit Keith to fall through the floor.

"Whoa! AAAAAH!" screamed Bandit Keith, falling through the trap door, out of the castle and into the water below. "Ouch!"

"Now, the finalists for the next match will receive a 10-minute recess." said Croquet. "So rest up. Our host wants you both in top form for your duel."

"Yugi…." thought Joey as he looks up at the eldest Muto sibling.

"Joey…." thought Yugi, looking at his best friend.

"I guess we cant put this off any longer, bud. Sorry, Paige." thought Joey.

"This is it." thought Yugi. "To save our grandpa, I must duel my best friend."
