To all my readers-I want everyone to know that for the duel of Yugi Muto and Maximillion Pegasus will take a while for me to write because I want to upload them in a certain way. They'll still be in episode order, mind you, I'm just going to be uploading them differently. So dont rush me on those chapters, otherwise I will delay uploading them by a month. Okay?

"Your turn, Yugi-Boy." said Pegasus. "But what's a poor duelist to do? If you throw your monsters in defense mode, I'll fossilize them, and if you throw them in attack, I'll destroy them!"

"He's right. I'm trapped. Unless maybe this combo works!" thought Yugi.

"I'll play the Dark Magician in attack mode!" said Yami.

"Ooh! The Dark Magician." Pegasus said sarcastically as he appeared on the field.

"And I also protect him with the Magical Hats." added Yami and it concealed the Dark Magician as four hats spread out across the field.

"Brilliant. Even Pegasus cant tell which hat Yugi's hidden his Dark Magician in." said Tea. "Now the Dark Magician is safe from Pegasus' Toon Monster attacks."

"Ah, I see." said Pegasus.

"See what?" Yami asked.

"With your feeble attempt to hide your Dark Magician, you're hoping to stall until you can find a way to overcome my Toon World. But it wont work." said Pegasus.

"Hmm?" questioned Yami.

"Don't get it?" inquired Pegasus. "You're not capable of concealing your secrets from me, and those silly magic hats won't help you hide."

Yami gasped at the statement. "All I need to do is probe your feeble mind to learn which hat hides your mage." stated Pegasus. "Or have you forgotten the power of my millennium eye? You might as well surrender now and save yourself the embarrassment of a crushing defeat for your sister."

Yami had a hand over Magical Hats but made a fist instead. "Prepare yourself, Yugi-Boy!" exclaimed Pegasus. "Here I come!"

"What can I do?" Yugi asked. "If Pegasus reads my mind, if he learns where the Magician is, I'm finished. There has to be some way I can stop him! There has to be!"

"Yugi! Come on, stay with it, man!" shouted Joey.

"I know Pegasus has magic, but so do you!" said Tea. "The magic of your millennium puzzle!"

"That's it!" thought Yugi as Yami squeezed his eyes shut. "I do have my own kind of magic, the magic that merges me with the spirit of the millennium puzzle."

Suddenly, the millennium puzzle calls out to Paige, calling for her and causes the youngest Muto to press her palm against her head. "Spirit, listen to me, quickly." Yugi said to his counterpart.

"Yugi! I can feel Pegasus trying to claw his way into our minds again." said Yami. "I…I can't keep him out."

"YUGIOH!" screamed Paige as she passes out.

[Inside the Millennium Puzzle]

"I know, but I have an idea." said Yugi when out of nowhere, Paige appears by his side. "Our Grandpa told us if I wanted to defeat Pegasus, I'd have to harness the power of my millennium puzzle. I thought that he meant I should merge with you as we usually do and that together we would be triumphant, but now I think I was wrong."

"There's a first time for everything." said Paige.

"How did you get here?" asked Yugi.

"I'm not exactly sure how. I think it was the millennium puzzle that brought me out to you." Paige replied.

"Grandpa said to trust in the power of my millennium puzzle, but he never said anything about you." said Yugi.

"That's true." said Paige, thoughtfully.

"What are you saying, Yugi?" asked Yami.

"Spirit, if I'm to have any chance of beating Pegasus, I'm afraid I have to banish you from the corridors of my mind." said Yugi.

"Yugi, you're an idiot!" said Paige.

"No I'm not, Paige." he tells her. "Not if this works the way that I plan it to be."

"This is crazy." muttered Paige, crossing her arms.

"Yugi, if we don't work together, we wont stand a chance." argued Yami.

"Maybe not, but if we keep playing like we have, we'll lose." said Yugi.

"And by the looks of the way you're both playing out there, I'd say you'll lose in 10 minutes." said Paige.

"What do you mean?" questioned Yami.

"That means, good bye Yugi's soul and the whole world gets to say hello to you." Paige tells him, causing him to step back a bit.

"She's right. Listen, just hear me out." said Yugi. "We're losing because Pegasus can read our mind because we're working so close together. That's wrong. I mean, it's the wrong strategy for us to be using in this particular game. If we keep dueling with our spirits merged, Pegasus' mind reading powers will beat us. And if we lose, everyone loses. But I have another idea."

"Well, it better be a good one." said Yami. "Many lives depend on us."

"I know. But I think it will work." said Yugi. "I think it will allow us to stop Pegasus from reading our thoughts."

"Tell me quickly, then. I can feel Pegasus pushing at our mind, trying to probe our mind." said Yami.

"Yeah and you better hurry on this one. I think I can feel Tea or Joey slapping me in the face." said Paige, feeling a stinging sensation in her face. "Ow! My cheeks."

"(Sighs) Ok, this is it." said Yugi, thinking for a moment. "Each time we play a card, Pegasus reads our mind. What if we keep our minds separate and then switch our minds back and forth?"

"Ah, switching minds. So, you're saying we won't merge our spirits as we usually do." said Yami, seeing where Yugi was going with his idea. "Instead, we keep our thoughts separate, secret, even from each other."

"And since Paige isn't in the dueling arena, she doesn't get to know either." said Yugi, agreeing with Yami.

"I can live with that." said Paige, as her cheeks turned red.

"A dangerous move, but it just might work." said Yami.

"All right, let's do this!" said Yugi as the millenium puzzle light up again.

[Exit the millenium puzzle]

"Toon Summoned Skull." said Pegasus. "Emerge from the safety of Toon World and attack the Magical Hat on the far left."

Toon Summoned Skull laughs as he appeared out of the book and used its cartoon lightening in attacking the far-left Magical Hat.

Up on the wing, Tea continued to watch the duel as Joey tries to wake Paige up. Just as he was about to smack her face again, Paige opened her eyes and grabbed Joey's wrists. "I'm going to get you for this, Joey Wheeler." Paige growled at the blonde.

"I….I…." stammered Joey.

"I told you that I would do it, Joey." said Tea.

"You let him do this?" asked Paige.

"He said that he wanted to do it." Tea explained.

"When Yugi wins this duel, I'm getting you, Joey Wheeler." said Paige, glaring at Joey.

Ignoring what was happening in the wings, Pegasus chuckles as the Magical Hat explodes on the field. "The Dark Magician has performed his last trick." said Pegasus.

"Maybe, Pegasus, or maybe your losing your touch." said Yugi.

"Hmm? What?" thought Pegasus, seeing looking at the score. "Yugi-boy's life points are unaffected, and the Dark Magician card is still on the field. Impossible! I just read his mind! His Magician had to be hidden under that hat! I felt him resisting my probe, but there's no way he could've deceived me."

"Maybe you probed the wrong mind, Pegasus, one that doesn't know where the Dark Magician hides." said Yugi, gaining Pegasus' attention.

"Huh?" said Pegasus, seeing Yugi Muto before him.

"Or maybe your mind-probing powers aren't as all seeing as you think!" said Yugi.

"You dare mock the awesome powers of my millenium eye?" asked Pegasus. "You go too far, Yugi-boy."

"Hey, Tea, Paige, do you have any idea what's goin' on?" Joey asked as he helps Paige up.

"I think it has to do with Yugi's other spirit." said Tea. "Yugi's somehow using the spirit from his millenium puzzle to confuse Pegasus and block him from reading minds."

"Good guess, Tea." said Paige.

"It is?" she asked. Paige nodded and brought them down to her level.

"They both have a plan in progress. I can't tell you about the plan because I don't want Pegasus to read my mind." Paige explained.

"Smart move." said Joey.

"You gained nothing from your attack, Pegasus." Yugi said to the platinum haired man, then lifts up his millenium puzzle. "Even with your magic, you wont be able to win, 'cause you're not the only duelist with a millenium item. Now let's see how well your millenium eye measures up to my millenium puzzle." Tea and Joey gasps as Paige gave Pegasus a look that said, 'I challenge you to do it'.

"Whoa! Yugi! I sure hope he knows what he's doing." said Tea. "I mean, how much do any of us really know about his millenium puzzle?"

"Millenium Puzzle, Millenium smchuzzle." said Joey, grabbing his head. "I just wish I could help him somehow, but no. All I can do is cheer from the sidelines while my best buddy duels his toughest duel all by himself. Besides, Paige probably knows about the millenium puzzle than we do."

"Joey!" shouted Paige.

"Sorry, sorry." he said, hiding behind Tea.

Yugi draws his next card and quickly looks at it. "Hmm. I lay this card face down on the field and end my turn." said Yugi, placing the card on the field. "Pegasus, do you know what the card is that I just pulled and laid on the field?"

Pegasus' curiosity got the best of him. "Just use your millenium eye to read my mind." Yugi taunted him. "That is, if you think you can."

Pegasus growled at Yugi's taunt. "No problem! You can hide nothing from me!" said Pegasus.

"We'll see about that." said Yugi as Yami prepared to come out. Pegasus uses his millenium eye to read Yugi and came up blank.

"What?" Pegasus exclaimed as Yami's mind was blank. "I can't tell what that hidden card is you just played!"

"Sorry, Pegasus, but I don't know what this facedown card is, either." said Yami, chuckling at him as he smirked. "Reading my mind will tell you absolutely nothing."

"How? How is he doing this?" Pegasus thought to himself.

"You see, Pegasus, I don't know what that card is, because I am no longer Yugi Muto, but someone else altogether." said Yami. "Through the magic of the millenium puzzle, 2 minds inhabit this body. Now, each time you try to read one of our minds, we'll use the mind shuffle."

"Mind shuffle?" questioned Pegasus, shocked that Yugi and Yami came up with this.

"Told ya! Yugi's battling Pegasus with not one, but 2 minds." said Tea.

"Oh, I get it. So when Pegasus tries to read one of his minds, Yugi can switch back to the other." said Joey. "I'm glad that Pegasus didn't read your mind, Paige."

"So am I." said Paige.

"I guess its true, 2 minds are better than one." said Joey.

"Its all over. Give us back the prisoner, and we still might let you go in one piece." said guard #1 as he and his back up cornered Tristan and Bakura.

"Face it. You've got nowhere else to run." said guard #2.

"Bakura, he's right." said Tristan, hanging onto Mokuba's body.

"So, punk, what's it gonna be?" asked guard #1. Yami-Bakura chuckles as he pulls out the real Bakura's dueling deck.

"You ignorant mortals. Its far from all over." said Yami Bakura. "We have barely even begun to play. And I'll show you the cards fate has dealt you."

"Stop talking nonsense! Give up!" shouted guard #2.

"Right now!" said Guard #3.

"What's with Bakura all of a sudden?" Tristan thought to himself. "Wait a minute! I think I remember him acting like this once before! It was when the evil spirit from Bakura's millenium ring dragged us all to the shadow realm! I thought that was just a bad dream, but it looks like it really did happen. And it looks like that evil Bakura is back again."

"Now I'll teach you the true meaning of fear, as I summon the Man-Eater Bug…" said Yami-Bakura, chuckling evilly as the millenium ring starts to glow. "With the power of my millenium ring!"

An illusion of the Man-Eater Bug comes out of its card as Yami-Bakura laughs. "Unh! What's going on?" asked Tristan, closing one of his eyes as light appears from the card.

"Oh no!" said the first guard as the Man-Eater Bug appeared next to Yami-Bakura. "He's brought that monster on the card to life! And he's gonna sic it on us!"

"Now, you mortal fools prepare to meet your doom!" said Yami-Bakura as his monster roars at the guards.

"Here it comes!" said guard #1

"Run! Let's get out of here!" said guard #2 in terror as he and the others fled.

"Present day humans are so fun to terrorize, don't you think?" Yami-Bakura asked Tristan.

"No, I don't. But then again, I am a present-day human." said Tristan. "What the heck are you?"

"Me?" Yami-Bakura asked, chuckling a little as he used Bakura's cards again and reveals a Morphing Jar. "Someone with great power, soon to be greater. But I can't spend the day having fun. I have things to do."

He then throws the Morphing Jar across the flight of stairs. "So, I'll summon the Morphing Jar to this plane and put an end to their pathetic whining." he said as the Morphing Jar appears and went out of the jar.

"What is that?" asked a guard as the Morphing Jar starts to terrorize them, causing all the men but Yami-Bakura and Tristan to scream in fear.

"The Jar's magic will send these ridiculous thugs to the graveyard." said Yami-Bakura, chuckling again as Tristan felt something rush through his spine.

"Whoa!" thought Tristan. Inside the Morphing jar, all of Pegasus' guards arrived at the Shadow realm's Graveyard. In the distance, the Card Reaper was heading towards them.

"Where the heck are we?" asked guard #1 as he sits up and starts to hear the sound of the Card Reaper. "And what the heck is that thing?"

Back at the biggest duel of a lifetime, it was Yami who was present. "So, still trying to read my mind, Pegasus? Go right ahead." said Yami.

"No thanks, Yugi-boy." Pegasus said, shaking his head as he drew his next card. "My mind scanning abilities are only one of many skills that I posses and that you need to worry about, or have you forgotten who invented this game? Besides, I can sense that you are prepared to switch minds. Yes, you're ready to switch the moment I begin to probe your mind. So, rather than waste both our time, let's move on, shall we? You've still no defense against my Toon Monsters, and it's only a matter of time till I find which hat hides your Dark Magician."

"Then pick a hat, and we'll see just how impressive your mastery of duel monsters really is." said Yami, waiting for Pegasus to pick a hat. "But I suspect that you'd relied on the magic of your millenium eye for so long, that your dueling skills have diminished."

"(Chuckles) Even if your little theory was true, I'm still a far and away a superior duelist to you." said Pegasus, then chuckles again.

"We shall see, Pegasus." said Yami. "Make your next move."

"Toon Summoned Skull, attack the Middle Hat." said Pegasus. Popping out of Toon World, Summoned Skull growled as it attacks the Middle Magical Hat. "Hmm? Did I get him? I think I got him. I must've gotten him." Pegasus asked himself, and as the smoke cleared, it appeared that he didn't get the Dark Magician. "(Gasps) No! I missed again!"

"What a shame, Pegasus." chuckled Yami. "Another turn wasted. And for my next turn, a quick change is in order."

Yugi appeared, determined as he glared at Pegasus. "So, you've switched again." said Pegasus.

"That's right, Pegasus." said Yugi as he drew a spell card. "And our mind shuffle strategy is working perfectly. Great! The Living Arrow Card could really turn this match around. So I'll just play this card facedown, and I'll see you later, Pegasus."

"You're looking frustrated." said Yami.

"He's played another card facedown, and there's no point in trying to read this Yugi's mind, because he has no idea what card it is, either." thought Pegasus.

"So, Yugi's played another card facedown, and even though I don't know what that card is, I have faith in Yugi, Paige and the heart of the cards." thought Yami as he watched Pegasus from across the playing field.

"I'm becoming annoyed." Pegasus said, irritated with Yugi and Yami. He then looks down at the Spell card in his hand. "Eureka! The card that will devastate your Dark Magician." said Pegasus, revealing the card. "Magic Neutralizing Force, Activate."

Yami gasps as Pegasus activates his spell card.

"This special card acts to eliminate any and all magic effects currently active on the opponent's field, which means the concealing effect of your Magical Hats now disappears." said Pegasus.

On the field, wind swirls up and around the two remaining Magical Hats, causing them to disappear in smoke. "Oh, no! The Magic Hats are evaporating!" Yami exclaimed as the Dark Magician was revealed from his hiding place. "The Dark Magician is revealed!"

"Its all over for him and your life points." said Pegasus. "You can only watch as I savor my final victory. Does your heart grow cold knowing that your demise is only moments away? Come on out, Toon Summoned Skull. Show them the face of victory!"

Summoned Skull appeared and made a silly face at Yami and Dark Magician. "No! His toon monsters are virtually unstoppable, and my Dark Magician is totally unprotected." thought Yami. "There's nothing I can do, unless…"

"Toon Summoned Skull, attack the Dark Magician." said Pegasus. "Lightning Strike Attack!"

Yami gasps as lightning was aimed at his Dark Magician. "Devastate his Dark Magician." said Pegasus.

"I don't have a move, but Yugi might." said Yami, using the millenium puzzle to bring Yugi out.

"Pegasus!" shouted Yugi.

"No, they've switched again!" thought Pegasus.

"I defend my Magician with the card I played facedown." said Yugi, turning over his spell card. "The magic card….Living Arrow!"

"What? Your hidden card is the Living Arrow Card?" Pegasus asked as his eyes widen.

"That's right! That is my secret card." replied Yugi, mocking the creator. "And since you're the creator of Duel Monsters, you must know all about the Living Arrow Card." Pegasus growls at Yugi's taunt. "And how it can fuse with any card an opponent might put into play. And it doesn't matter whether that card is a monster card or a magic card!"

"We've thwarted your mind reading magic, and now we're going to use your very own magic card against you!" said Yami, coming back into the duel. "Pegasus, I use the Living Arrow card to fuse with your Magical Neutralizing Card and fire it right back at Toon World!"

"Hmm." Pegasus said, gasping at first before a small smile appeared on his face. "It doesn't matter, 'cause its too late for you to stop my Summoned Skull attack."

Summoned Skull's lightning starts to make contact with Dark Magician. "Your Dark Magician is vanquished." Pegasus added.

"Sorry, Pegasus." said Yugi.

"Huh?" said Pegasus.

"You've forgotten my other down card." said Yugi, then reveals his trap card. "It's a trap card, and its one of my favorites, Mirror Force."

"A trap!" thought Pegasus as Lightning Strike was deflected from the Dark Magician.

"It deflects back Summoned Skull's attack, and since the other card Neutralized the magic that made your Toon World untouchable, your Toon Monsters return to their original form and appear on the field, just in time to catch the blast." Yugi explained as the Lightning split into three directions and made contact with Pegasus' monsters.

"AAH!" screamed Pegasus as his three monsters were destroyed on the field. "It's impossible! I can't believe you destroyed all my beloved toons. AAH! No! No! No! No! This is a nightmare, a bad dream. This can't truly be happening."

"I've seen Grandpa and Kaiba freak out….I've even seen Joey, Tristan and my own brother freak out." said Paige, causing Joey and Tea to look at her. "But I've never, ever seen the creator of Duel Monsters freak out and not a freak out that was this bad."

"Oh!" said Pegasus.

"We did it. All the Toons are destroyed." said Yugi.

"Yes, and it was your plan, Yugi." said Yami. "I'm very proud of you, and so is Paige."

Yugi looked up at the wings and sees the smile on his sister's face. "Score stands at Yugi, 900, Pegasus, 600." said Croquet. "Uh, sorry, sir."

"Yugi has proven formidable indeed." thought Pegasus after hearing his life points. "And his millenium item is even more intriguing than I imagined."

"All right, you're in the lead, Yuge!" cheered Joey.

"At last!" thought Tea. "Those creepy toon monsters seemed almost unbeatable, but I knew Yugi'd figured out a way to defeat them. I just knew it!"

"Great job, Yugi." thought Paige. "If Pegasus hadn't taken his soul, Grandpa would be standing right here with us, watching you duel the creator."

"As you can see," said Yami-Bakura as a pair of dark glasses were left on the ground. "there's not a single particle of those pathetic fools left in this dimension. I have no patience for obstacles that get in my way. Remember that."

"Huh? I don't know how you did that, and I probably don't want to know." Tristan said over his shoulder. "Just tell me who you are, what you want. I know you're really not our friend Bakura. You're the one Yugi beat. He banished you to the graveyard, and in the process, he freed Bakura from your mind control."

"Yes, but that wouldn't have happened if hadn't betrayed me." said Yami-Bakura. "I've decided I need a new host."

"You wont take me without a fight." said Tristan.

"Not yours. I want a vessel without a mind or soul of its own." said Yami-Bakura.

"You want Mokuba." said Tristan.

"Now, turn him over, or face the same fate as the guards." Yami-Bakura enquired. He laughs as Tristan tries to figure out his next move.

"Yugi, I'm impressed." said Pegasus.

"Huh?"

"When I first met you, you were just another boy who showed some faint dueling promise." Pegasus tells him. "But with my gentle guidance, well, look at you now. You're one step away from becoming world champion. You've been to the shadow realm and back. And most importantly, you've finally begun to master the power of your millenium puzzle. And you see, Yugi-boy, for me, that's what this whole tournament has been about. For I plan to take possession of your puzzle."

"My puzzle?" questioned Yugi.

"No!" said Yami.

"You cant!" shouted Paige, gaining attention from Yugi, Yami and Pegasus.

"I can and I will!" said Pegasus.

"You will never have possession of the Millenium Puzzle!" screamed Paige. "Our grandfather gave it to the both of us to solve! So, Pegasus, unless you were there that night when we placed that final piece in the Millenium Puzzle, it will never be yours!"

"Oh, Paige…" said Yami, seeing that she was protecting him. Evil laughter was heard and grew louder from Pegasus.

"You have no say in this, young lady." said Pegasus, then turns back to Yugi and Yami. "Yes! You and I will finish this contest in the shadow realm, Yugi. And this time, its winner take all!"
