Season Six episode Seven
Give Peace A Chance
"Hey," Reed greeted as Kat entered the residents locker room.
"I'm late for rounds, wait where were you last night," Kat asked Reed once she set her stuff down?
"I was in the O.R. all night," Reed said getting up to stretch.
"You might want to move out of the way," Kat said changing at an incredible pace.
"Why," Reed asked?
"You're ass is in my way," Karev announced.
"I was in the o.r. all night sewing a hang gliders intestines back together, I'm kinda sore," said reed.
"I kinda don't care, now move," Karev demand.
"Hey Alex, I just got a call from Swenders office, Izzie has an I.L-2 treatment this week. That she hasn't called back to confirm," Cristina announced as she walked into the room.
Kat was all finished but she didn't want to make it awkward.
"And," Karev retorted.
"And she's your wife, who could die," Yang said back.
"She'll show up. She's a crappy wife but she's not an idiot," Karev told her
"Well it's Thursday's at 10:00, so you know,"
Cristina said before leaving.
"Don't worry, being ditched by cancer wife won't change my mind. You're still a douche," Reed said.
"Reed," Kat said from behind to cubby's.
Only to earn a shoulder shrug.
"Sorry about her, she's a real pain in my ass, Kat Hayashi,"Kat said, sticking her hand out.
"Alex Karev," He took her hand.
"Hope to see more of you around here," Kat said, walking away.
"Like wise," Karev said before she walked out the door, earning him a grin.
Kat walked down the hall in search for Cristina.
"Hey have you seen Yang," She asked Jackson as he passed by?
"No but I'll let you know if I do," He spoke while walking.
"Hayashi, I've been looking for you all morning," Torres walked up to her.
"I didn't receive a page ma'am," Kats throat went dry.
"I'm only 5 years older than you," Callie raised an eyebrow.
"Sorry ma'am," Kat realized she said again after the fact.
"Call me ma'am again and I'll be your worst nightmare."
"Sorry it's just I raised to call anyone with authority ma'am or sir," Kat blink with her eyes wide open.
"Relax, I just wanted your help on a consult before you started talking to me like I was in a nursing home," Callie joked?
"Me you want my help," Kat pointed to her self.
"Yeah I hear you're interested in ortho, so I was wondering if you have a bit of insight on an issue," Callie explained.
"Okay," Kat smiled as they started to walk.
"Wait," Callie felt her pager vibrate. "I'm going to have to page some else from ortho to go do the consult ," Callie spoke as she looked at her pager. "Come with me."
"Where are we going," Kat asked, following Callie.
"If I read what I think I saw correctly, we are going to see a spinal tumor," Callie moved down the hall to the elevators.
"That's amazing," Kat mumbled.
"No not amazing, what's amazing is that we as surgeons can fix it," Callie corrected as the elevator door opened.
"Sorry," Kat mumbled.
"Isaac has a chord tumor," Callie walked in the X-ray room.
"Who's Isaac," Kat asked following behind her?
"But it's awesome look," Cristina ignored her holding up the X-ray.
"Awesome in a bad way. It's eaten five levels of his spine," Callie studied the X-ray.
"I think it's a beautiful beast," Kat smirked at it.
"Thank you," Cristina said to Kat making her blush.
"Wait you're not seriously considering trying to take it out?" Callie turned to shepherd.
"Of course he is, he's Shepherd," Cristina answered for him.
A short blonde walked through the doors. Kat turned around to see who it was. She didn't recognize the face so she went back to studying the X-rays .
"It's a bad case of telephone, right," She asked, with a worried expression. "Isaacs got a bone spur, or a herniated disk," She started to list off things as she came closer to the X-rays. "Not a," she sighed as she looked at the huge tumor on his spine in the xray. " he diagnosed an osteosarcoma case for me a month ago. I thought it was a shadow, but it turned out to be the tiniest little lesion on an xray."
"That says more about you that it does about him," Dr Sloan chimed in taking a sip of his coffee.
"I'm sorry do you even know who Isaac is," Arizona smiled moving her way towards mark.
"No idea," Mark shook his head.
"Hey what's everyone," Lexie smiled as she walked in. "Oh a spinal tumor," she looked at the xray . "I read about a case at mayo where the surgery took 17 hours. The head surgeon had four rotating assistants, one of whom just administered fluids. "
"Ok don't try to lexiopedia your way on to this case. This tumor is mine," Cristina whispered as she crossed her arms.
"What happened to the patient at mayo," the blonde asked?
"He died that's why it only took 17 hours," Lexie
"Hey I just heard," Dr. Hunt slipped in. "Isaac has an inoperable tumor?"
"It's Isaac's tumor," Lexie stood up.
"Okay yeah boo hoo alright who said it was inoperable," Cristina threw her hands up.
"Cristina," Derek said as the scan came up.
They all began to speak over one another.
"Oh come on it's all the way up to t-2," Callie
"See, this is why I got into plastics," mark joked
"Oh that's gonna be ," Arizona huffed not finding the right words.
"How is he still functioning," Kat mumbled.
Richard Webber entered seeing all the doctors surrounding the computer.
"Why aren't you all at your surgeries. Go get to your o.r. Don't screw with my schedule on day one," Chief Webber ordered.
"Do you think Dr Shepherd will take out the tumor," Kat asked as she put in the last screw.
"I let you put in all the screw in this femur break and your asking about neuro," Callie
"I mean it is kind of Ortho related ," Kat moved so that Callie could finish.
"If you want neuro go after neuro," Callie
"I don't want neuro, but this tumor is like once in a lifetime with these symptoms. I mean Isaac is moving his arms he's breathing fine. Isaac looks good to the average human eye. It's a miracle and it's fascinating and I need a miracle right now," Kat rambled.
Callie sighed. "I think Derek's gonna give it his best shot, close up for me," Callie got set down the tools and walked away.
Kat sat on the floor medical journal all around her, her favorite white wine in her hand, as she flipped through the pages.
"What's all this," Jackson asked as he entered the house.
"These are medical journals," Kat smiled.
"No, I know what they are I mean why do have them spread out like this," Jackson let his bag slid on the couch.
"Well today I saw a once in a lifetime tumor. It was spinal started at t7 and stopped at t2 I mean that's five layers of spine. And the kicker is the guy with the tumor is fine," Kat added.
"What?"
"I know he breathing fine, all limbs still moving, no evident weakness. It's a miracle," Kat commented as she flipped the pages.
"It is," Jackson sighed. "Any luck finding what you need," Jackson walked over to the kitchen.
"Nope not yet," Kat told him.
"Want something to drink," He asked, Kat raised up her wine glass to show she already had a drink.
Jackson grabbed a soda from the fridge and came back into the living room.
"You know I think I might've heard something about that tumor today," Jackson mentioned.
"I found it," Kat cheered.
"Yay," Jackson laughed confused about her suddenly excitement.
"Yes, yay," Kat looked up at him.
"I don't understand you most of the time," Jackson sat down on the couch
"How was your date on Sunday," Kat wondered?
"It was interesting to say the least. Turns out she's 35 with three cats, but she does drive a Maserati. She a radiology tech and she eats like a kid," Jackson told her.
"So a second date," Kat teased.
Jackson gave her a look.
"I'm just teasing geez," Kat moved up to the couch.
"Aren't you supposed to be reading," Jackson looked at her funny.
"I know what page it's on I'll read it before round. I wanna get to know you more. You seem interesting and you're the only nice one left in the apartment ," Kat added.
"Well I went to upenn for med school went to Harvard for my undergrad," Jackson spoke.
"I could find all that on the hospitals website," Kat cut him off.
"The hospital website," Jackson mumbled.
"Yea just go under residency program then go under general they just added us to Seattle Graces website," Kat told him.
"Really?"
"I can show you tomorrow at work if you want?"
"Yeah."
"Anyways continue tell me about yourself."
"Well I'm an only child. My mom was a hovering parent but she never really pushed me to strive for greatness."
"So she was just nosey."
"Yes she was," Jackson laughed at the word.
"What else," Kat asked turning her full body towards his.
"I was on the speech and debate and the swim team."
"You are definitely built like a swim," Jat added.
"No I'm not I'm way to muscular to cut through the water now."
"I wouldn't say way too muscular," Kat laughed at her own joke.
"Okay why don't you tell me about yourself."
"You just wanna get out of the hot seat."
"Duh."
"I'm the middle child, I wasn't a good kid growing up. So my mom put me in box classes at the Y to release my anger in a good way. Boxing didn't last long though I liked using my bare knuckles to hit. So then I change to jiu-jitsu, which led me to wrestling in high school," She explained.
"How did you get into powerlifting," Jackson wondered?
"One day I wandered into the weight room after school and they where there practicing. I thought it looked easy enough so I tried it. And I was pretty good at it," Kat explained.
"How did you do both," Jackson wondered.
"Well I would bulk up during fall when weightlifting was happening then I'd cut right before wrestling season," Kat explained taking a sip from her glass.
"What school did you go too," Jackson asked?
"I went to boarding school in Connecticut, until my dad got laid off so they couldn't afford tuition. I got in on academic scholarship so they barely paid anything to begin with. Then my senior year I went to a magnet school. It was like an art and stem school."
"My high school experience was horrible until my junior year when I had my last growth spurt, then everyone started to notice me," Jackson added.
"You know it's never really about the physical height. Its about your mentality. Guys who are shorts are always like woe is me and after a while it gets tiring. Like yes you are short but you're hot and I'm dating you so you have nothing to worry about. With tall guys they know their worth. They're confident you don't have to constantly reassure them. So it probably wasn't your height that made you unnoticeable it was probably your lack of confidence," Kat commented.
"Tell me something I don't know," Jackson smirked.
"I want to kiss you," Kat got closer.
"Kat I don't think this is a good idea," Jackson backed up.
"What it's only a kiss im not asking you on a date."
"Kat," Jackson whispered.
"Okay fine tell me you don't want to kiss me," Kat backed up.
Jackson just groaned.
"That's what I thought," Kat smirked moving closer.
She went in for the kill, the kiss was hot. It wasn't sweet and slow, it was fast and sexy. Jackson went for the hem of her shirt as he made his way to her neck.
"I thought you said didn't want a kiss, now you're going for my shirt," Kat smiled.
"I'm sorry," Jackson spoke out of breath.
"There's nothing to be sorry for," Kat got up discarding her shirt making her way to Jackson's room. "Well what are you waiting for."
"You were paged," Kat asked Jackson?
"Yeah I think it's a skills lab," Jackson said.
"I think it's about Isaac," Kat said before sitting down.
"Who's Isaac," Jackson asked?
"I don't know," Kat said just as Dr. Shephard walked in.
"Microsurgery is about precision. The microscope changes your perspective radically. The hand-eye coordination required can be learned. But right now, I need naturals," Dr shepherd said walking over to the mircoscope. "Each one of you will get a chance to guide this pen through the hole in the cup. The person who make a mark closest to the presidents nose and doesn't hit the side of the cup gets to scrub in," Dr Shepherd explained before pulling out a perfect example. "Who wants go first," he asked showing it off?
Hand went flying up in the air. Kat kept hers down she knew she could do it but she didn't want to dim the hope of the residents around her.
Steve Mostow was up first and he hit the cup. After a few disappointing rounds Kat let her mind wander into space.
"Adamson," Shepherd called.
"You got this," Kat tried to encourage her.
But she didn't, hitting his ear instead.
"Hey microsurgery isn't for everyone," Kat tried to cheer her up.
"Oh shut up," Reed said back.
"Fine," Kat said sliding deeper into her chair.
Another round of disappointment came until Jackson Avery.
He hit right on the edge of the nose.
"Somebody improves on that I guess you'll be out of a job," Derek joked.
"I guess it's time of retire," Kat joked as she got up out of her chair.
She took her time making distance between her and the machine, she steady her hands and her feet. And she hit the president right on the nose.
"Dr. Kat Hayashi, Head of Neuro," Kat said holding up her dollar.
"Impressive work," Shepherd said, as everyone clapped for the girl.
"Thank you," Kat said going to sit down.
"Show off,"Dr. Yang said under her breathe as she grabbed a dollar.
She was to quick, haphazardly looking into the microscope without checking her body position. Kat knew she was going to fail. She looked away right as Yang hit the side of the cup.
Everyone in the room cringed. Yang talked a big game and finally couldn't back it up.
"Alright, Dr Hayashi and Dr. Avery you'll be scrubbing in, need all the hands we can get," Dr. Shepherd said before leaving the skills lab.
"I'm gonna need a snack, come with," Kat asked?
"How did you do that," Jackson asked once they made their way to the vending machine.
"A good magician never reveals their secrets," Kat teased putting the money in the vending machine.
Lexie Grey, a second year walked up to them.
"You're nervous, right, about being in there that long, me too," Lexie asked and answered her question?
"What do you have to be nervous about, Shepherd didn't even let you compete," Jackson questioned as she grabbed her bag of chips?
"Hey be nice," Kat said moving out of the way for him.
"No that's because he needs me to maintain his care while we're in there. I'm his doctor basically," Lexie smiled while Jackson picked out a snack.
"Wow so you fell for that. Cause I mean it sounds more like you're his bitch?"Jackson asked as he waited for a chocolate to dispense.
"What? No I'm not that. It's not like—.Look eventually you're gonna need to take a break and you're gonna need to stretch. You're gonna need to pee. And when you do I'll be their to take over," she tried to justify Shepherds choice.
"Yeah well I don't take breaks," Jackson smirked as he grabbed the chocolate bar out of the vending machine.
"You seriously think you're gonna last all day in there," Lexie wondered before taking a sip of the soda she just bought?
"Yeah I've done it before, but that's because I know to stop taking fluids before a long surgery. Have fun playing nurse. I mean it sounds neat," Jackson chuckled before walking off.
"Sorry about him I think your job sounds important," Kat tried her best not to laugh, before going after him.
"What happened to play nice," Kat said once she caught up.
"I just wanted to play with her," Jackson said stepping on to the elevator.
"Well she right though it's like twenty plus hours you'll need to drink something or you'll start to cramp," Kat brought up a good point.
"That's won't happen," Jackson replied.
"Ok big shot," Kat said as she stepped off.
"Ready to do the best surgery of your resident career," Jackson asked?
"Wow," Was all Kat could say once she got a look at the tumor up close.
"That's um, that's just wow," Jackson repeated copying was she just said.
"The vessels are more intricate than the m.r.I showed. There's no way I can get the tumor out without rupturing one and killing the cord," Dr shepherd said as he looked into the microscope.
"So what do we do," Jackson asked?
"If I start at the t-2, I could avoid hitting the feeding vessels,so maybe I should go lower. There's less vascularity around t-7,so that does seem better no," Shepherd said working his problem out aloud.
"It does seem better," Kat agreeed.
"And you'd only get function lost below the chest," Jackson added.
But I risk rupturing the anterior spinal artery there," said Shepherd.
"Probably, the tumor tapers of there," Lexie said.
"Higher better maybe. Either way, I risk sending him into hemodynamic collapse," Shepherd whispered.
"He's not talking to us is he," Jackson whispered to Kat.
"No, not at all," Kat agreed.
The rest of Kats day was boring. She spent it checking on Torres's post ops and walking the halls.
"Don't be to envious Reed, we just stared at a tumor for ten hours," Kat smirked listening to her friend complain.
"Stop complaining, you have nothing to complain about. At least you get to watch groundbreaking surgery," Reed groaned.
"There was no surgery Reed we watched a tumor for ten hours. And let me tell you it's not funny," Jackson took a bit of pasta on his fork.
"You know I miss April, I don't miss sleeping on the couch but I do miss her home cooked meals," Kat said, as she took a bit of pasta.
"This is home cooked," Reed retorted.
"Yeah but it's missing the thing you lack, love," Kat smirked.
"Cuz you're not the devil," Reed replied.
"No I'm only mean to you," Kat sighed.
"Okay no more food for you," Reed pulled her plate away.
"Ladies, ladies," Jackson laughed.
"Shepherd page you again," Kat sighed.
"Yep, so another ten hours off standing watching a tumor," Jackson groaned.
"Yay," Kat fake cheered entering the conference room.
"This patient understands what cutting the cord means? The loss of function in both legs and possibly more?" Richard wanted to make sure he was understanding the full story.
"We have to cut the cord the kill the tumor there's no other way," Dr. Shepherd explained.
Richard sighed. "Okay," he slipped on his glasses signing the go ahead for Derek to use an OR. "That'll only take an hour or two. You can have O.R. one. Hunt needs it right after so he'll have enough time."
"Thank you," Derek mumbled.
"Good luck," Chief Webber sighed before leaving the room.
As soon as the door closed dr shepherd turned to face them.
"We're not cutting the cord," Shepherd announced.
"We're not?" Kat questioned.
"Mnh mnh," Shepherd shook his head. "The mistake I made yesterday was that I wanted a plan, there can be no plan. I just have to pick a point and cut."
"Isn't that risky," Kat wondered?
"This whole surgery is risky," Shepherd answered.
"Couldn't that," Jackson wondered.
"What you said the yesterday if you cut an artery or hit a cord," Lexie started.
"Isaac wants us to take the risk. He wants a cure, and it's our job to try," Shepherd responded. "See you in the or," Shepherd got up to leave.
"Shepherds going rogue," Kat smirked, once he left the room.
"This is bad this is really really bad," Lexie shook her head.
"Are you kidding, no one at mercy west was this badass," Jackson smiled.
"You're damn right," Kat said in agreement.
"This isn't bad ass. This is its , I mean you saw him yesterday. He was spinning himself in circles, mumbling like some crazy psych patient and he was mean," Lexie started to panic.
"Well he's your psych patient now," Kat joked.
"Deal with it diaper genie," Jackson teased.
"Yeah, wore a diaper yesterday mhn hum . And I will wear one today. If it helps get Dr. Shepherd through this surgery, I will wear a diaper, because my diaper is awesome. My diaper is hardcore. You wish you had the balls to wear my diaper. I'm gonna wear it and I'm gonna wear it with pride. And if I have to pee in it, oh, I'll pee in it, because I am a surgeon. This is America, and I will do what needs to be done. So you can kiss my hard core diaper wearin ass," Lexie growled.
"Sounds like your convincing yourself," Jackson laughed.
"Jackson stop it," Kat tried her best not to laugh at Lexies moment of honestly, while she was still in the room.
Once the door shut, she couldn't help but burst into laughter.
"Maybe she does have point," Kat spoke once she regain control of her breathing.
"If you wear a diaper we will never sex again," Jackson laughed.
"It's a beautiful day to save lives," Dr. Shepherd mumbled.
Kat looked from behind the microscope with a confused expression.
"It's his tradition," Lexie told Kat.
The first hour was easy, it was mostly retracting skin, to make a path. Hour two was when things got a bit tricky.
"Okay I've gotten the plane, ready to make our first cut," Derek announced.
"I heard you needed some support," Dr. Sloan spoke as he entered the O.R.
Dr. Shepherd looked at Little Grey behind the microscope.
"You need people to talk to, experienced surgeons. And you can't say no because I'm in charge, and this is what I'm prescribing," Lexie explained.
"Thank you Dr. Grey," Derek cleared his throat, as she looked back into the microscope. "Alright, let's start," He repositioned his hands. "Making the first cut," He announced as she connected the bovie to the cord.
The machine goes off beeping is erratic.
"What did you paralyze him?" Jackson asked, moving to look at shepherd.
"No, one vessel down. Settle in we have many more to go," Dr. Shepherd smirked behind the mask.
Derek continued the make his way up the spine.
"I've cleared a path at t-5. And if I continue along this plane, I ," Dr. Shepherd started.
The monitor started to beep erratically
"M.E.P. tracings losing amplitude. What just happened," Mark announced.
"Vessel burst, it might've been connected to the cord," Dr. Shepherd tried to work fast.
"And if there's not enough blood reaching the cord," Lexie interrupted.
Derek cut her off answering the questioned. "Yes, I could've just paralyzed the patient. Suction please," Derek groaned.
"Easy, careful," Dr. Shepherd instructed.
"There's too much blood," Jackson stated.
"We're losing him," Mark spoke up.
"I should've just cut the cord. This is too risky," Shepherd mumbled as he worked.
"Wait, it's back amplitudes up," Mark sighed a breathe of relief.
"So the cord didn't stroke out, you didnt paralyzed him," Lexie smiled.
"The vessel was connected to the tumor, were okay," Shepherd sighed.
"Have a little faith in your self," Kat whispered.
"Nice work Derek," Mark turned.
"I try," Derek looked at Kat, his face began to turn a bit pale.
"Are you okay, Dr Shepherd," Kat asked?
"What?" Lexie took a good look at him.
He took a step back setting down his equipment.
"Take off my mask," He breathed.
"What?"
"Take off my mask," He dry heaved, Lexie ran around Jackson and Kat over to Shepherd . She slipped the mask off his head, letting it hang from his neck. As soon as she did he hunched over vomiting on the floor.
"Get a chair," Lexie ordered as she rubbed his back.
"Here," Mark gave up the one he sat in.
She guided Shepherd over to the chair and handed him a towel while the nursing staff came in to clean up the vomit.
"Are you okay," Mark asked after a while.
Derek nodded taking a deep breathe.
"Then get in there. Take a breath and get back in there," Mark patted him back. "You can do this."
"You should really drink something," Lexie suggested.
"I'm fine," Derek insisted.
"You're not fine. You're stressed and dehydrated," Lexie could tell, he still wasn't okay as he wiped away his sweat.
"I said I'm fine," Dr. Shepherd repeated.
"Drink the water," She pushed the bottle in front of his face. He paused staring at the straw, not moving. "I said drink it," Lexie yelled causing him to look up at her, he sighed.
"Okay," he took the bottle from her hands and took a sip.
After a few hours Mark had to go do a consult said that he'd be back for more.
Hour 13 came with some visits from Dr. Torres, Hunt and Sloan. Hour 14 came and brought cramps.
"Oh crap oh crap oh crap," Jackson groaned.
"I told to drink something," Kat mumbled looking over at him.
"It's my hand. It's cramping. Damn it," Jackson announced..
"Okay we're touching the cord. If we disturb it any more, we run the risk of," Dr. Shepherd reminded them.
"Pulse is down to 52," Robbins looked at the monitor.
"It's getting worse guys, it's," Jackson hands started to shake harder.
"Easy, easy, don't move," Shepherd spoke as if he was talking to a startled cat.
"Lexie tried to steady his hand," Kat instructed. "Sorry." She whispered, once she realized how her tone came across. She didn't want to overstep.
"No you're right," He agreed.
"It's okay stay still, I'm reaching in," Lexie explained what she was doing as she did it.
"Close your eyes and breathe, you're okay," Kat instructed.
"It's just a spasm, it'll pass," Lexie told him.
"Bps back up 100/68," Robbins announced.
"Have you had anything to drink today, Dr. Avery," Shepherd asked?
"What?"Jackson knew why he asked that question but he didn't want to answer.
"No," Kat answered for him.
"I know because muscle cramps are a sign of dehydration, you went without any fluids so dr grey couldnt get her hands on the retractors. Am I right," Shepherd spoke calmly.
"Well, I uhh, sorry," Jackson apologized.
"Don't apologize just step aside, let Dr Grey take over," Shepherd ordered.
At hour 26, came decision making time.
"A or b, Dr. Hayashi, a or b," Shepherd asked?
"You're done you got it all out," Lexie wondered?
"Except for the blind cut," Kat explained.
"I just have to pick one and we're good to go, so a or b."
"Wait you're asking me," Kat was taken aback by his questioned.
"A or b," Shepherd repeated.
"I can't decide, I'm not a world class neuro surgeon," Kat replied.
"You're stalling, Dr. Grey," Shepherd turned to Lexie.
"You're kidding," Lexie answered.
"Dr. Avery," Dr. Shepherd sighed going to Jackson.
"I don't like to gamble," Jackson shook his head, eyes glued to the cord.
"Dr. Sloan?"
"What do you can blame it on me for the rest of your life? This is all you,"Mark responded.
"Right, my call, great," Shepherd huffed, pausing for a second. "Eeny, meeny, miny, moe, catch a tiger by its toe, if he hollers."
"Oh my goodness, is he," Kat giggled.
"Are you playing, eeny, meeny, miny, moe?" Lexie laughed too.
"Yeah," Shepherd giggled.
"No," Lexie laughed shaking her head.
"Yeah it's a bad idea. Let's see, okay?" Dr Shepherd straight up, really trying to think.
The room became quiet, time stood still. As Derek Shepherd connected bovie to cord, Kat prayed it was the right one. She could hear the cheering from the gallery. He did it she smiled under the mask.
Kat walked down the halls on a high from surgery. And they only thing she wanted to do was shoving it in Cristina Yangs face, well and go to sleep too. As she walked past the skills labs she found Cristina Yang behind the microscope with dollars all around her, trying to dot the dollar. She watched her work. Her hand movements were perfect but the way she stood was messing her up.
"It's your stance," Kat said as she stopped at the door.
"You don't know anything mercy west," Yang shot at her.
"I know more than you I got into the surgery," Kat shot back.
This got Cristina's attention, she rolled her eyes.
"Here let me show you," Kat said taking a dollar and a pen. "Look at my body, the way I'm standing allows me to do it perfectly every time," Kat said showing George Washington with a red nose.
"Now you try," Kat said getting behind Cristina, she guided her arms it was better but this time she shoulders were stiff.
"No loosen your shoulder," Kat put her hands on Cristina's shoulders. "Yes like that," Kat praised.
Cristina continued going for the the nose
Kat stopped her "No, move your feet shoulder width apart," Cristina obeys. "Good girl," Kat whispered sending shivers up Cristina spine. She turned her head to get a good look at her.
"You're getting distracted, pay attention," Kat ordered.
"Back off I can't pay attention with you over my shoulders," Cristina turned back around. And Kat backed up, raised her hands up.
"Okay now try again with your feet shoulder width apart, back straight, and your shoulders relaxed."
"Good but ease into it."
Kat got closer this time to see
"That's great," She whispered. "Now do it again."
"Perfect, again," Kat said once she saw the doctor got it. "Keep on practicing," Kat said before slipping out passing Owen Hunt.
"Look I did it," she watched as Cristina showed Hunt.
"I need sex," Kat growled watching the interaction.
"Yeah well it's going to have to wait because we have to be back her in a five hours so im going to sleep once I get home," Jackson told her.
"You are no fun," Kat sighed.
"And you're sex crazed," Jackson bit back.
A/N: I just copy pasted this straight from my Wattpad drafts since that's where I add all the pretty stuff like the dividers.
A/N: Fight me. Jk don't worry Jackson and Kat will be more like Mark and Callie once but with boundaries cuz lord knows mark had none. Anyway how did you like Cris and Kat flirting, or more like Kat flirting and Cris melting. We also got to know a bit more about our girl Kat. Also I can't wait for the next chapter cuz that's got even more juice. At least to me, anyways TOOTLES 3
(Ps. Still looking for a proofreader, cuz writing essays and books at the same times is hard) (pss please leave comments of feedback I want to know how you enjoyed the book)
