"Okay, the pharmacist said he has the medicine being expressed delivered to Olivine City, it should be there by tonight." Molly said.
"We do have some other news however." Casey said. "Hey where's Eusine?"
"You were right about him." Ash admitted grumpily, still dripping wet as he Brock, Pikachu, and Espeon came in.
"I'm not going to ask more details, but hey Eevee evolved, never thought the physical fighter would become an Espeon." Casey said.
"Casey, you said you had some news, what is it?" Brock asked.
"Right, the gym leader here in town is available for a gym battle today, we ran into him while going here to the Pokemon Center." Molly reminded.
"That's great, I'm ready to get another badge and then get back to Olivine for a very quick two more badges." Ash said.
"Don't get ahead of yourself Ash, you're on the harder half of your gyms now." Brock pointed out.
"Right, I'm going to get Scyther and Espeon healed up and then we can head for the gym." Ash said, walking to the front desk.
A bit later at the gym
The group walked in to see a man sitting at the base of an indoor waterfall, deep in mediation.
"Hello, I'm here for a gym battle!" Ash yelled, trying to call out over the waterfall. "My name is Ash Ketchum and I've already earned four badges here in Johto, I'm looking to take you on for my fifth badge!"
The man beneath the waterfall stood up, walking forward with ease.
"My name is Chuck, as the Cianwood City gym leader, it is my duty to test the strength of you and your Pokemon." Chuck said. "You said you already have four badges right now."
"That's right." Ash said, opening his jacket to show the four badges pinned inside.
"Good, we'll have a four on four battle, my specialty is the fighting type." Chuck said, walking to one side. "Ready to start?"
"Ready!" Ash said, once Brock, Molly, and Casey took their seats.
"Then come out Primeape!" Chuck called out.
"Fighting types, then come on out Scyther!" Ash exclaimed.
"Primeape use Leer!"
"Scyther use Double Team!"
Primeape slammed their fists on the ground, sending a piercing gaze at Scyther as two shadow clones appeared, making a total of three Scyther.
"Primeape use Rage!"
"Scyther use Wing Attack!"
The Scyther trio took to the air, rushing at Primeape as the fighting type launched at one of the Scyther, dissipating the illusion as the other two struck him.
"Primeape use Rage!"
"Scyther use another Wing Attack!"
Primeape lunged forward at the second Scyther, destroying the illusion as the one remaining and true Scyther struck him once more.
"Primeape use Rage!"
"Scyther, Wing Attack again!"
Scyther and Primeape collided before Scyther finally flung the fighting type off of them and into the wall behind the waterfall, seconds later Primeape's unconscious body floated back out.
"Primeape is unable to battle, the winner is Scyther!" The gym judge declared.
"Primeape you did your best, and you deserve a rest." Chuck said, returning the fighting type. "Now come on out Hitmontop!"
"Who's that Pokemon?" Molly asked pulling out her Pokedex.
'Hitmontop, the Handstand Pokemon, and a Fighting Type. It launches kicks while spinning. If it spins at high speed it may bore its way into the ground.
"Scyther use Wing Attack!"
"Hitmontop use Hidden Power!"
Hitmontop flipped onto the tip of their head, spinning on the water surface before launching frozen chunks of it at Scyther, knocking them off course.
"Hitmontop use Triple Kick!"
"Scyther get up and use Double Team!"
Scyther pushed themselves back up shuddering before two shadow clones appeared, all three leaping out of the way of Hitmontop's attack.
"Hitmontop use Return!"
Hitmontop spun faster and faster before slamming into Scyther, dissipating the two clones and knocking the main one down to the ground.
"Scyther use Wing Attack!" Ash called out.
"Hitmontop use Return!"
Scyther got back up, flying right at Hitmontop, striking the fighting type before going down from the accumulated damage.
"Scyther is unable to battle, the winner is Hitmontop!" The gym judge declared.
"Great work Scyther, we've got this from here." Ash said. "Espeon you're up!"
Espeon came out of her Pokeball, her green fur shimmering from the water of the arena.
"Hitmontop use Return!"
"Espeon use Psybeam!"
Hitmontop got a spinning start before heading right at the psychic type, while Espeon countered by firing a strange multicolored beam from her gem, slowing the fighting types progress.
"Hitmontop use Pursuit!"
"Espeon use Shadow Ball!"
Espeon's gem glittered before a shadowy ball launched out, striking Hitmontop away once more before it even got close.
"Come on cheap tactics like attacking from a distance, show me your real strength!" Chuck called out.
"Alright Espeon you heard him. Use Double Edge!" Ash commanded.
Espeon got out of the position of her calm demeanor, before leaping straight at Hitmontop sending it flying into a wall before it had a chance to react.
"Well I've gotta say, I'm impressed." Chuck admitted, as he returned Hitmontop. "No matter, the battle is far from over, come on out Heracross!"
"What's that Pokemon?" Casey asked aloud, pulling out her Pokedex.
'Heracross, the Single Horn Pokemon. A bug and fighting type. With its Herculean powers, it can easily throw an object that is 100 times its own weight.'
"Espeon use Psybeam!"
"Heracross use Horn Attack!"
Heracross flew forward, their horn piercing through Espeon's attack before striking the psychic type.
"Use Mega Horn!"
"Espeon use Shadow Ball!"
Heracross repeatedly stabbed at Espeon, trying to hit her as she fired off a shadow ball, giving some distance between the two.
"Espeon use Double Edge!"
"Heracross use Counter!"
Espeon rushed at Heracross slamming into the big type before it slammed its horn down, cracking the pavement under Espeon and knocking her out.
"Espeon is unable to battle, the winner is Heracross!" The judge declared.
"Great work Espeon, we'll take this from here." Ash said. "Ready Pikachu!"
"Pika!" Pikachu exclaimed excitedly.
"Alright then use Thunderbolt!"
"Heracross use Mega Horn!"
Heracross took the Thunderbolt directly through their horn, veering off course enough to just miss Pikachu and be lodged into the ground.
"Now use Quick Attack!"
"Heracross break free and use Counter!"
Pikachu sped forward, slamming into Heracross, knocking it free of the rubble but at an angle it wasn't able to counter with.
"Now use Thunder Punch!"
"Heracross use Reversal!"
Pikachu leapt forward, an electrically charged fist going right at Heracross, knocking it out on contact.
"Heracross is unable to battle, the winner is Pikachu." The gym judge declared.
"You're good, but that ends here. It's time Poliwrath!" Chuck called out, as a Poliwrath emerged from behind the waterfall.
"Pikachu use Agility!"
"Poliwrath use Mind Reader!"
Poliwrath followed Pikachu with his eyes, watching the electric type move about the stadium carefully.
"Now use Thunder Punch!"
"Dynamic Punch, lets go!" Chuck exclaimed.
Pikachu leapt off a wall, heading right at Poliwrath who was ready, striking back against Pikachu and sending him tumbling back.
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"
"Poliwrath use Surf!"
Pikachu sat up dazed, sparks coming from his cheeks as he tried to refocus only to get hit by a crashing wave.
"Pikachu get up!" Ash called out.
"Poliwrath use Dynamic Punch!"
Poliwrath slammed his fist into the ground, pushing Pikachu down further as sparks shot from the hole.
"Pi!" Pikachu said angrily, as he pushed back against the larger Pokemon, sparks flying from his cheeks.
"Ka!" Pikachu added, leaping out of the way and into the air as Poliwrath reslammed his fist into the ground.
"CHUUUU!" Pikachu exclaimed, a burst stream of electricity shooting out from his body, raining down on Poliwrath and knocking the water type out.
"Poliwrath is unable to battle, the winners are Ash and Pikachu!" The gym judge declared.
"Great work Ash, managing to beat me with a spare still left too." Chuck said in a congratulatory tone. "Here as proof of your victory I present you with this, the Storm Badge."
"Thank you Chuck." Ash said.
"Now I'm guessing you lot will be heading back to Olivine soon, is that right?" Chuck asked.
"Yes sir, this was just a stop." Molly said.
"Then I'd recommend another stop, the Whirl Islands are quite the sight for people and Pokémon alike." Chuck said. "They're just a bit off the path, if you ask the Nurse Joy on duty, I'm sure she can give you a map to them."
"Thanks again Chuck." Ash said.
